A very enjoyable book! Engaging, creepy, and well written. Jeff’s style is smooth like coffin lining.

If you enjoy reading ghost stories, this book is right up your alley. The Book of Whispering Spirits consists of eighteen eerie stories told by Violet Winterbrook, a woman who can speak to the dead.
These stories are a little different from the usual scary stories to read in the dark, but a few similarities crop up like the ghostly hitchhiker, haunted mirror, etc. I will admit, some of the stories come off a bit cheesy, but they're still fun to read.
Read enough horror and you can pretty much guess the ending on every story, which detracts a little from the mood in all honesty.
Abigail Larson's cover art is lovely. Jeff Ferrell, the author, made a great choice in asking her to provide the cover. I only wish she could have made illustrations for the stories inside!
I would definitely suggest this book for people who enjoy reading ghost stories or odd spooky tales. It is worth a look!

A fun read, but very formulaic and predictable. I tend to like historical fiction style, so the stories set in the past were my favorite.
I feel like this book belongs in YA and should be read around campfires at summer camp.
