Fire and Desire #4

The Dragonmaster's Mate

Rate this book
As her father lay dying, I swore always to protect fifteen-year-old Zenevieve. I took the grieving girl in, and she filled my life with sunshine. Now she’s grown, she’s looking for a mate, and her eyes have turned to me.

Zenevieve has always been my weakness, but she’s not the woman who has been promised to me. I’m waiting for the Omega I’ve never met, who may have died, who could be lost to me forever. I will wait for her, because I would rather perish in dragonfire than touch a woman who isn’t mine.

But starving for my mate burns my soul. I can resist all temptation, until one day I slip, and I catch the wrong woman in my arms. Sweet, adoring Zenevieve will never forgive me for rejecting her, and I’ll never forgive myself for causing her pain.

The world ends, and then it begins again.

Five hundred years later, I’ve got a second chance to make things right. This time around, I’m doing everything differently. The woman I shouldn’t want is going to be mine.

Author’s The Dragonmaster’s Mate is a standalone rejected mates, second chance, guardian/ward romance. There’s a ten-year age gap and a lot of crushing on a forbidden older man. You don’t have to have read the first three books in the series, but it's recommended.

The Dragonmaster's Mate (Fire and Desire, #4) by Chloe Chastaine aka Lilith Vincent

Between 3 and 3.5 out of 5 stars

The premise of this book really spoke to me and I decided to pick it up without reading the first three books. I have read only one other book by Lilith Vincent and I loved that smutty masterpiece.

So I dove enthusiastically in this romantasy filled with dragons. It starts with Zenevieve who moves to the capitol with her parents. The second they arrive she runs to go see the dragons. Her grandfather was a dragonmaster and it was his pride and joy. He taught her everything he knew. A white dragon, Nilak, approaches her and they share a moment. It's the dragon of dragonmaster Stesha and Zenevieve is instantly drawn to him.

She also meets the princes Emmeric and Zabriel and the princess Mirelle. All four of them are gonna start training to be dragonrider's themselves. Mirelle is a soft spoken and shy girl. Emmeric is bold, downright nasty and cruel. While Zabriel has the kindest of hearts.

The first part is mostly about them training to ride their dragons. But it's also about how Zenevieve's mother wants to marry her off to Emmeric. And every fiber of her being protests. She wants Stesha and no one else. And her mother doesn't realize how cruel Emmeric truly is.

Then tragedy strikes when Zenevieve loses both her parents. Stesha takes her in and that is the start of an intense relationship. Zenevieve longs for him, she loves his smell and constantly lies in his bed when he is away when he has his rut. He is obsessed with her as well but he keeps his distance. He is an Alpha and he knows he is destined for a powerful Omega. And while he truly cares for Zenevieve she is only a beta. And he is standfast in his decision and keeps in part a huge wall between them.

And that is what this book is about. It's about a tricky relationship. It's about longing and jealousy and lines being crossed. It's about destiny and a path that must be followed. It's about a kingdom with two different princes and with one prince who crosses more and more lines until something terrible and tragic happens. And things change forever.

This book spans a lifetime. There's a time jump of 500 years. And I really did enjoy reading this book.

Lilith who writes as Chloe created a really unique and different writing style. For example I love the Empyrean series. And this is written in a completely different style. So I really appreciated that she took a different route. It worked.. but it didn't completely work. The book is enjoyable and fun. But not not as addictive, fast paced and all-consuming as I would have hoped. I could easily put it down and the characters didn't shine as bright as I would have wanted them too. I didn't fall in love with either Stesha or Zenevieve and I really missed that the dragons played a relatively small part in this book and I missed fiery personalities. Near the end Nilak gets the most personality and I love how she evolved as a dragon in this book.

And one of the key elements in a romantasy is sizzling chemistry. And while it was written down, I didn't feel it. I didn't feel their passion, their longing, their lust and love reverberate through my bones. Thus making it easy to put down.

Don't get me wrong, it's worth the read! And it has some solid bones. But I don't think I'll ever reread it. And it didn't ignite a passion in me to pick up the rest of the series.

So between 3 and 3.5 overall from me for this fun and enjoyable book.

I've been waiting for their story since reading the other three books. And I've got to say my heart was torn to pieces and glued back together. But then again, I'm on my period, lol.

But Chloe needs to be kicked (just kidding) for the pain Zenevieve has been through. My heart was hurting so much, but I was glad she came out on top! How her poor mind was tortured in the present and the emotions she went through being under Stesha as his ward, and the back and forth he was giving.

Stesha, my man, I wanted to hit so many times in both timelines! The way he acted made me wish Zen let him grovel more. Besides that, everything was so good.

I don't know if this is the last in this series, or if Kane and Rav are getting a book!

Saftey-Emerric wants Zen so he tries few times to get her, couple guys flirt with her.

Yes Dragonmaster, Stesha I will enjoy your pain to finding your true mate.

I had so much fun reading Zenevieve’s journey. From a young age she’s depended on Stesha to protect her. She’s drawn to him even if he tries to keep her at arms length. He’s her friend, guardian and world so why can’t he see what’s right in front of him?

The Dragonmasters Mate is woven into the Flame King trilogy and for best reading should be read in order. The Dragonmaster is a difficult man to get close to, he prefers dragons to humans, but Zenevieve is no ordinary person.

If fate is written, does it mean nothing can stand in the way of destiny?

Thank you so much to Give me books PR and the author for the ARC!

“The Dragonmaster’s Mate” finally lets us witness Zenevieve and Stesha’s full story, and it was glorious! We meet both of them in the three previous books that were about Zabriel and his human mate, Izavelle, but for me it was Zen and Stesha who stole the show! The yearning, the years of suffering, all that pain! It was everything I wanted and more!

We see Zen and Stesha meeting when he’s already a dragon master and Zen is only fourteen years old. Together with Zabriel, Emerric and their sister, they all train to become dragon riders, and it’s beautiful to see Stesha never dulling anyone’s light. He’s fair to Zen, and we can see he has a soft spot for her. But she never emerges as an omega, and Stesha does not want to take another’s person's mate as his, even though he aches for her. We know that Stesha is trying to do the right thing, and it hurts like hell to watch him spending all those ruts alone because he believes that Zen and himself are fated to someone else.

He protects her, her tries to shelter her from himself, but the pull from fate is there. Zenevieve is the most honest about her feelings. She cares for Stesha, and she wants to experience the love she has for him with him. She’s honest, and she’s open about what she desires. It’s mostly Stesha who tries to fight his feelings. But once they find each other again after so many years apart, they deserve their happy ending. It’s still a struggle to make Stesha accept his feelings, although this time it’s Zen who seems more guarded, while Stesha wants to stop fighting what he feels for her.

“The Dragonmaster’s Mate” is beautiful, it will make your heart melt and probably sob with how much they both had to endure. If you love yearning and slow burn, I’m sure you will find this book a delight..

I also want Kane and Ravenna’s book because that woman has the best kind of mischief, and I am here for it!

(Before reading): HOLY SHIT I AM SO READY FOR THIS

Review:

Initially, I was put off that so much of this was a ‘prequel’ to the original trilogy, especially since the chemistry is building between the FMC (15) and the MMC (25) (yeah, oh no). So that was a bit uncomfy. Stesha doesn’t do anything until she’s about 21, thank god.

Then Part II is set during/after the original trilogy. It was a bit disjointed and heavily relies on your memory of the entire trilogy. It does make some odd things Zenievive does make more sense (yay). I found it odd that the only thing that goes into real detail is the final battle from both their POVs - which was well needed, as the OG couple were off busy fighting somewhere else when the climax happened.

I was still having a grand old time. I’m happy we got to see their story!!! And I love this author sm! I love the entire world <3

I almost wonder what if would be like the author to re-edit the stories so it’s interwoven with the original trilogy?

I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT’S GOING ON BETWEEN KANE AND RAEVENNA. I NEED THEIR STORY NOWWWWW.

Genre: Fantasy Romance
Type: Standalone Book 4 of Fire and Desire
POV: First Person- Dual
Rating:

At fifteen, tragedy struck, leaving Zenevieve in the care of a family friend, Stesha. As she grew older, her heart belonged to him, but his remained empty, reserved for an unknown mate that he believed destined for him. Centuries later, the world they once knew had changed, yet her feelings remained the same. However, risking her heart again could destroy them both.

I've been intrigued by Stesha and Zenevieve's strained relationship in the previous books, and I was glad to dive into their story. I enjoyed learning about their history, but I felt the turning point of the story undermined what they had been through.

I swore to her dying father that I’d protect her, and then I swore an oath of my own that no harm would come to her, but I’m the one who’s nearly killed. her.

I liked the push and pull in their relationship, but I would like a bit more intensity. I loved seeing Zen grow up from a precocious child into a woman who knew how to stand up for herself. Stesha was firm and self-assured when it came to his job, yet unsettled when it came to matters of the heart.

The Dragonmaster's Mate is a story of following one's heart. It would appeal to readers who enjoy omegaverse romance with a guardian/ward dynamic.

Ever since she was a young girl, Zenevieve has dreamed of becoming a dragon rider in the King’s flare. Now, at fifteen, she has come under the protection of Dragonmaster Stesha and finally has her chance to prove herself. Though he is an Alpha and she a beta, Zenevieve cannot hide her feelings for him unaware that she is Stesha’s greatest weakness.

“Someone who is both clever and brave. Someone who makes me feel safe. Someone who makes me desperate to run into his arms for a kiss.”

Narrated in dual POV, Stesha is highly principled and a dedicated dragonmaster who takes great lengths to ensure Zenevieve. Though Zenevieve flourishes, she still yearns to be Stesha’s mate despite his unwavering moral restraint. Everything changes, however, when is cast under a dark spell.

In this book, the world is from the Fire and Desire trilogy, which is involves a monarchy, dragons, Alphas, Betas, Omegas and witches. The fantasy elements kept me intrigued, especially the dragons. I enjoyed learning more about Stesha and Zen, but I was hoping Stesha would make certain choices at an earlier time.

The Dragon Master’s Mate is a slow burn romance that would appeal to those seeking a rejected mate second chance story set in a fantasy world.

Gobbled this up in 1 day! I’ve been waiting eagerly for this book! I enjoyed Flame King (books 1-3) and was so excited we were going to get Stesha and Zenevieve story.

This book is broken up into 2 parts: old Maledin and new Maledin. Or, before they were cursed under the mountain and after.

Please read books 1-3 first. Yes, this is technically a stand alone but it really isn’t because it overlaps the events of books 1-3.

I enjoyed part 1 a lot more than part 2 in my opinion. We got to see Zen and crew as teenagers and the heartbreaking circumstances that led to them being locked away for 500 years.

Stesha has been holding out for his omega mate his whole life. But when he takes Zen in as his ward, the girl he swore to protect grows up and becomes a woman he can’t resist. But he can’t have her. She’s not his omega. But when he slips one night, it ruins everything and before he knows it, it’s 500 years later in a blink of an eye and Zen is gone. He lives with the guilt of how they left. But fate has a way of bringing them back together when he least expects it and is going to take advantage of his 2nd chance, even if she insists she won’t forgive him. But secrets are unveiling and their fate may be more intertwined then they ever knew, all while they help to rebuild their world in a new time where dragons have been long forgotten. Can their secret longing and past heartbreak be overcome?

The spice 🌶️ just like with the Flame King books, we have Alpha, Beta, and Omega dynamics with Alpha knotting 🥵

In love with the epilogue!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m kind of hoping for another book following Kane and Ravenna. I think it could be interesting. 🤔

I have been wanting to read about Stesha and Zen since book 1!! They have been teased all series long. They are so sweet together, and I am so happy they finally have their HEA. I had lots of theories after book three and was glad to see I was right 🤭

LOVED:
-possessive and protective Stesha since the moment he meets Zen
-great banter from Stesha and basically everyone. He's so grumpy and so unserious 😅
-finally getting the history of these two and learning of their lives/everyone else's pre the 500 years under the mountain
-DRAGONS

Didn't love:
-I know she's his ward. But I didn't need to read so much about them when she was 14/15 lol. Even though nothing happened, it still just weirds me out
-I wish Stesha did more grovel or chose Zen before finding out the truth about everything
-most of the story is in the past /their POV of book three. I wish we got more fresh Stesha/Zen content!!!

OM- another alpha is intrigued by Zen, and she watches him during a rut, but nothing happens beyond that
OW- no
HEA

thank you so much to Chloe and team for the ARC!!! 🙂

The first 50-60% of the book occurs, outlying events that happened before the dragons were trapped under the mountain, before events in the previous 3 books Fire and Desire books.

Though this gave more depth to Zen and Stesha’s love story I personally quickly became board. In my personal opinion a few flash backs would have served the same purpose. This was rehashing events as a reader I already knew. I was anxious for their love story to progress. Instead it stalled for the first half of the book repeating ground already covered.

Ultimately I completed the book feeling let down. Very little new occurred and wallla, sheets as an omega and it’s all wrapped up ..HEA. I’m still confused how we went for chapter upon chapter of the MC’s unable to get out of their own way to all wrapped up in a paragraph or two.

This one was a miss for me.

Instead of advancing the story of the Dragonmaster and his lost half after The Flame King's Queen, the narrative unexpectedly jumps back in time. We are dragged, without mercy, into the deep, churning waters of the past, a brutal return to Maledin utterly dominated by the terrifying majesty of dragons, their ruthless Dragonriders, and the ostensibly formidable rule of King Aylard and Queen Magritte.

This era, as we are quickly reminded, was not merely turbulent; it was a psychological and personal crucible for its inhabitants, all thanks to the encroaching darkness of Prince Emmeric. Determined to shatter every unnecessary constraint and, more chillingly, to play puppeteer with the destinies of men and dragons alike. This is his singular obsession. He is not just plotting; he is meticulously weaving a snare in the shadows for years, ultimately succeeding in the slow, agonizing destruction of a reality once considered unshakeable and perfectly consolidated.

The dynamic here is a stark, agonizing contrast to the tumultuous dance of Zabriel and Isavelle. Here, the current Dragonmaster, Stesha, is paralyzed by an overwhelming, yet misplaced, sense of honor. He is desperately unwilling to tarnish Zenevieve's life, blind to the devastating irony that his very inaction, his perceived protection, will inflict profound repercussions upon the girl's physical and psychological fortitude. Bound by the iron chains of tradition, and crippled by the searing, deeply held conviction that he is inherently unworthy of Zenevieve, Stesha is cornered. To uphold his beliefs and the dictates of his world, he is driven to make the single, most catastrophic choice imaginable. A decision that will irrevocably damn both their futures.

If tales woven with such intricate, self-inflicted agony and high-stakes power plays captivate you, this series is not merely worth a read, but an essential plunge. It is a relentless gauntlet of political and personal intrigue that the author has meticulously engineered. A dark tapestry that compels you to not just read, but to dig, to dissect, and to desperately seek the hidden heart of its conspiracies.

Stesha, an alpha who’s spent his entire life waiting for the omega mate he believes fate promised him, becomes guardian to Zenevieve after her parents die. He trains her to be a dragon rider and, as she grows into herself, their bond shifts into something deeper and undeniable. When Zen offers herself to him in his rut, he rejects her, despite wanting her desperately. Her heartbreak is raw and real. A year later, he gives in to his need for her… only to reject her again. What follows is war, deception, devastating loss and the long, painful path to truth. Because maybe the mate he’s been waiting for was right there all along.

This book was intense from start to finish. The push-and-pull between Stesha and Zen absolutely shredded me. The first half really digs into their emotional mess; his resistance, his duty, his belief in a mate he’s never met, and the way he keeps Zen close only to push her away again. I was furious with him so many times. Zen was perfect for him and he felt that, yet he kept breaking her heart while hating himself for it.

By the second half? Zen is shattered, and honestly, I don’t blame her. What she goes through is brutal. And Stesha… incredible character, full of honour and loyalty, but also such a clueless man when it comes to the woman right in front of him.

And the deaths? I was not prepared. Two in particular destroyed me. Fully sobbing. I’m not certain I’ve forgiven the author.

But when Stesha finally realises what we all knew from page one? The rutting, knotting and biting payoff was so worth it. I just wish there had been even more because I wanted all the dirty details.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Zenevieve. Her grandfather was a dragon trainer and when she and her parents move to the capitol. The second day they are there she goes to see the dragons and has a bonding moment with a drago named Nilak. He approached her and it was a moment to behold. The dragon belongs to the dragonmaster Stesha and from the moment she meets him she is drawn to him. There are more people she meets that day, Emmeric and Zabriel and the princess Mirelle. They all four decided that day that they would train to be dragonrider's. You will love some of these characters and not so much others. Emmeric is very bold but has this really nasty side to him. He is cruel actually and I was not a fan. Zabriel is the kindest and his heart is really big and then we have Mirelle who is a really shy girl. But Zenevieve's mom has other ideas and she thinks that a marriage to Emmeric ould be a perfect matching. However, she can't let that happen because her heart belongs to Stesha. However, when tragedy strikes she has to be taken in y Stesha and this is an intense moment and a relationship in her life. I will let you discover all of that on your own because I don't want to give anything away. This story spans lifetimes and a time jump of 500 years. I loved that his was a unique read and as a huge fan of a certain show with dragons I knew I had to read this book. It did not disappoint but I was really emotionally invested in this story and it hurt my heart so many times. This is a book worth reading and one you will certainly have a hard time laying down.

The Dragon Master’s Mate
By Chloe Chastaine

Zenevieve has dreamed nothing more that to be a dragonrider since she was a child.
Her grandfather, the late dragonmaster of the kings flare, showed her how to care for the magnificent creatures and now Zenevieve and her parents have moved back to the kingdom’s capital that dream is coming real. Her grandfather appetite, Stesha, the new dragonmaster will teach her to ride and bond with a dragon. And as time passes she begins to feel a connection with the alpha dragonmaster that she hopes he might feel too.
But when wild dragons attacked and burn half the city in a fire Zenevieve’s parents don’t survive, her life changes forever, and is only the beginning of a lifetime of grief and challenges.

Dragonmaster Stesha has been captivated by the brave young bata Zenevieve from the moment she stepped foot onto his dragongrounds, that feeling has only intensified over time but he swore to her father before his death that he would take care of her.
But has the years go on he cannot deny that she means more to him that just a ward and dragonrider.

Both their lives are turned upside down when a cures traps the dragonrider in a sleep that lasts five hundred years. When they return to a world that no longer resembles dragons and those who ride them, they must fight for their kingdom, lives and each other…

After the end of The Flame King's Queen, I thought the story about the Dragonmaster and his lost half would pick up from the end of the third volume.
Instead, we take a dive into the past, to a Maledin dominated by dragons, their dragonriders, and the rulers King Aylard and Queen Magritte.

As we already know, the past is turbulent for the locals, both psychologically and personally, due to the dark side of Prince Emmeric, who is determined not to submit to unnecessary rules and to play with people's destinies as he pleases. And that is exactly what he will do, plotting in the shadows for several years and succeeding in destroying such a united and consolidated reality...

We have a different approach compared to Zabriel and Isavelle: Dragonmaster Stesha is unwilling to ruin Zenevieve's life, unaware that his actions will have repercussions on the girl's physical and psychological well-being. But in order to remain faithful to tradition and, at the same time, to his belief that he is not worthy of Zen, he will make the worst choice he could ever make, for both of them.

Now, I don't know if you like these kinds of stories, but this series is worth reading at least once, to discover the intrigues that the author has devised within it, which make you want to dig even deeper!

I’ve wanted Stesha’s story ever since I first met him in The Flame King’s Captive so as soon as I had the opportunity, I dove right into this book.

I enjoyed getting to see what Maledin was like before Emmeric cursed everyone. We get to see a softer side to Stesha, especially when he’s around Zenevieve, and it’s obvious to everyone but him that they belong together. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see all of the pain that Zenevieve went through between Stesha telling her that he believed he was fated for another and then not much later when she has to watch her dragon Minta die at Emmeric’s hand. Add in seeing what Stesha is going through and feeling when he sees the pain that Zenevieve is going through…cue all of the angst.

We find out so many things in this book about Zenevieve that I’ve had questions about since I finished reading the first three books in this series. I had some theories about here that proved to be right and I couldn’t have been happier about it.

I flew through this book because I didn’t want to put it down, even when it was causing me to cry my eyes out. I’m so glad that Chloe decided to write Stesha’s story and that we get to see him and Zenevieve get their HEA.

I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this fourth book in the Fire and Desire series and let me just say, it did not disappoint. Loved getting to jump back into this world and read Stesha and Zenevieve’s story.

This series was my first omegaverse experience and I cannot recommend it enough. I love that we finally get more of each of these characters' backstories. Stesha is such a grump and I am here for it!!! I was rooting for these two the whole book and I absolutely loved the ending. I also enjoyed the way the author took us right into their trauma.

If you enjoy possessive MMCs, magic, dragon riders, omegaverse, or even just slow burn with spice then this is the series for you!

Absolutely amazing read from Chloe Chastain! I loved Stesha and Zen when they were side characters in the Flame Kings Captive series, so when I saw they were getting their own book, I definitely couldn’t miss out! And OMG am I glad I didn’t because this book reeled me in immediately! First I love that we get some backstory from Zen and Steshas POV so characters I already loved I could love even more, but to see the way they overcame everything they’d been put through was just such a fantastic read! Truly you will not only love our main characters but all the dragons and their many personality as well! If you’re looking for a omegaverse read featuring dragons, a age-gap second chance romance, plenty of spice, as well as plenty of angst and twists and turns, emotional and personal growth, and so much more wrapped up in a beautiful happily ever after then I highly recommend grabbing a copy of The Dragonmasters Mate today!

“And if I’m always broken?”“I will cherish all your beautiful pieces, but to me, you are always perfect.”

I was so excited for Stesha & Zenevieve's story and this book did not disappoint! The tender moments between them were so heartwarming and I loved the softer side of Stesha in the last half. Zen deserved the absolute best and I was so glad that after going through all the difficult things, she finally had her chance at happiness. But I just wish Stesha grovelled more, I felt like Zen kept forgiving him too quickly. Still, I enjoyed reading this book. The ending was good and the side characters were really interesting. And I hope there's more coming from this world because I'm very intrigued by Kane & Ravenna's story!

This book is the perfect mix of naughty and sweet. I loved reading Zenevieve and Stasha’s story, the battle they went through to finally find their mates just made my heart happy.

Stasha is all the things I love, OTT protective dragon riding grump who yearns to find his mate. His torment is so bitter sweet.

🗡️ omegaverse
🖤 age gap
🗡️ dragon daddy
🖤 second change romance

Below is a little excerpt from the blurb and just this alone had me HOOKED.

“As her father lay dying, I swore always to protect fifteen-year-old Zenevieve. I took the grieving girl in, and she filled my life with sunshine. Now she’s grown, she’s looking for a mate, and her eyes have turned to me.….”

This is book 4 in the Fire and Desire series, it can be read as a stand alone but recommended to read the first three beforehand. I did not and still thoroughly enjoyed the read. I am however hooked in this world and will be reading the others ASAP!

Oh my goodness, I am so in love with Zenevieve and Stesha’s story. I’m so happy we get to see their journey from the very beginning the love, the heartbreak, the yearning every part of it was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I felt everything right along with them. I cried, my heart broke, and then somehow it was pieced back together again.

By the time I reached the end, it felt like I had lived every breath of their story. Their strength, their resilience, and the way they fought through every obstacle made their love feel even more powerful. Zenevieve and Stesha aren’t just characters; they’re a reminder that even the most wounded hearts can find their way back to each other. This book didn’t just tug at my emotions it completely consumed them, and I’m so grateful I got to experience a love that fierce, that flawed, and that unforgettable.

*crying tears of joy after all that gruelling anguish Stesha & Zen had to go through*

Stesha was my favourite in the Flame King series and the wait for this book was soooo worth it. I didn't think it was possible to cover so much ground in the book, both old Maledin and New Maledin and all the things that happened, but CC did it beautifully.

Of course, I wish Stesha had gotten his head out of his ass earlier and just SEEN Zen for who she was, but with the way things played out, I get that the timing had to perfect for that. I just wished Emmeric had suffered more for all the pain he caused everyone. Ugh.

This was definitely one of my top reads of 2025.

PS : I hope there's a book coming out for Kane and Ravenna!!!! We need that grovelling and redemption arc!!!

I feel as though if you are looking for yearning then this book gives it to you! Stesha has been on a mission to find his fated mate and he thought all was lost until he met Zeneive! Now this story will take you through the motions and the plot twist about Zen and her true designation will leave you FLOORED! The relationships and bonding with the dragons was beautiful. I love how the dragons interacted with their riders and communicated with them. It’s was a great sight in my imagination to see! This book was great and it kept me intrigued and it kept my attention throughout! I would definitely recommend this series! Don’t be like me and read it backwards lmaooo.

Thank you to Give Me Books Promotion for the eARC.

I’ve wanted Zenevieve and Stesha’s story since we first met them earlier in the series.

The first half of the story takes place in the past, before they are all trapped underneath the mountain. And since I knew what was coming in the present, I anxiously turned every page—knowing some angsty pain was coming. Because really, Stesha was so hardheaded, because anyone with EYES could see they were meant to be together.

So once we get to the present, Stesha is still punishing himself. And yet he didn’t grovel enough for me (you know I crave it). I totally understand that there was outside magic affecting their senses, but I wish Stesha had done more to make it up to Zen. She really deserved someone who was all in—regardless of fate or scent.

Overall, this was still a great addition to the series, and I’m hoping we get to revisit and see more dragons in the future!

I really liked this book a lot. First book I read from this author. (sister pen name to Lilith Vincent) I haven’t read a romantasy in a while so this was a fresh breath of air.

Stesha and Zenevieve’s story was truly an emotional rollercoaster.

I just knew theirs was going to be a ride but it was so much better.

Stesha craves his mate he is yet to find and Zenevieve craves her dragonmaster.

I just loved reading this book and the way it told the happening of then and now.

Absolutely fantastic read and one I definitely recommend 👌🏻

I've been waiting for this one because I was so excited to learn more about Stesha and Zenevieve. Once again, Chloe doesn't disappoint. I've always loved possessive alpha and ooh Stesha, that man, phew.
And it was great to learn their past first and then into their present.
I loved it.
If you love alpha, omega, dragons, romance? This books is for you ❤

This whole series has been the most fun kind of silly for me and I’ve simply devoured it. It’s so easy to read and the characters are really enjoyable, even if a lot of the dialogue has me cringing and cackling at the same time.

Love this author and this series!

I absolutely devoured this series as each book came out. The spice is delicious and the characters are well developed. I especially love how book 4 ties back to the first 3 without feeling like back tracking.
Plot 👌👌👌👌
