From New York Times bestselling authors Kristin Cast and Gina L Maxwell comes another spellbinding romantasy novella in the Towerfall universe, a scorching MMF romance brimming with courtly intrigue and forbidden passion.

One woman. Two forbidden men. A kingdom that could tear them apart.

After catching her fiancé in bed with someone else, Stella swore off love. But when her best friend vanishes, leaving behind only a cryptic tarot card, she's pulled through a portal into the fantasy realm of Towerfall—landing in the middle of a fight between two dangerously gorgeous warriors.

Prince Valen Greymourn has two weeks to marry, or his parents will force him to take a bride. It's a problem, considering his heart already belongs to his best friend and captain of the guard, Marek Drayk. Stella's arrival is an opportunity wrapped in temptation—if she agrees to a marriage of convenience, Valen will help her find her missing friend.

But to convince the court, Stella and Valen must play the part of passionate lovers. And Marek? He refuses to stand aside.

Behind closed doors, tension turns to touch, pretending into pleasure. Desire ignites. Lines blur. And when betrayal threatens their fragile bond, Stella faces an impossible choice—walk away from the two men who have claimed her heart, or defy an empire for a love that was never meant to exist.

This novella follows Stella, who is grieving the loss of her relationship after she finds her fiance cheating on her just a few days before their wedding is set to take place. She is trying to celebrate her birthday with her friend, Elara, when they are both sent to Towerfall via her new tarot deck.

She almost literally lands on her ass in front of Prince Valen Greymourn and the captain of his guard, Marek Drayk. Valen has the "bright" idea at this point to use Stella as a means to his own ends in a marriage of convenience.

What neither of them realize at the beginning of this situation is that the three of them fall in love, which leads them down a path none of them were expecting, least of all Marek. It leaves them all wondering what to do and where it'll leave Stella in the end, who only wants to find Elara.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

I'm not sure exactly why but I thought this book was boring. It had a slow start, as did the first book in this novella series. I know it's novellas tied into another series Kristin is launching that is meant for adults and that's the main reason I rented this book in the first place.

I was a huge fan of Kristin and her mother in high school when they were coming out with the House of Night series. I hate to say it but this book disappointed me after remembering all of my love for the House of Night. Now I want to go back and read those books for nostalgia since I have them as well.

I am a huge fan of MMF smut scenes and that's what I was looking forward to more than anything else. I was sad when I noticed that the smut scenes were more toward the end of the novel. You had to slog through most of the slower scenes just to get to what I thought was the best part of the novella.

I think that's what disappointed me more than anything. I thought, since the novella was shorter, that it would be more smut than plot. That's not what we got, which wouldn't normally bother me, especially in those times when that's what I'm looking for.

I would definitely recommend this book, though, if you're looking for time travel, dimension travel, and medieval-based fantasy novels. I will say that, despite my grumbling in this review. lol I know I'm picky but I swear the grumbling in this review isn't normal.

5 stars. easy. hands down. i was enthralled immediately. it amazes me how easy both authors have my brain hooked within the first sentence. i cried, i blushed, i yelled, i did it all.

in this novella we follow Stella, Valen and Marek. Stella is a rather witchy gal, who is going through was terrible heartache when her best friend vanishes, for what is thought, out of thin air. soon Stella finds herself in a world she doesn’t wanna leave. (which i don’t blame her.) i wish i could go more into this but you’re just gonna have to read it yourself, it is so worth it.

there was so much character building in so little pages, i feel like this book could’ve been 1000 pages and i’d still want more of the 3 main characters. i felt Stella’s hurt, i felt Marek’s hurt, Valens hurt. it was so easy to place myself into this world and feel for our main 3.

the growth we saw between the 3 was beautiful and enchanting all at the same time. i was giggling and blushing and yelling all within the span of the same chapter!!

the spice? OH GIRL SHE WAS SPICING. SHE WAS HOT AND HEAVY.

The tropes we see:
-mmf (why choose)
-marriage of convenience
-dom/sub dynamics
-fake engagement
-forbidden love
-instant love
-kinda enemies to lovers
-they call her “pet” (this alone sells me)

if there’s any book i’ve ever recommended to you, please let it be this one you read. you will be so glad you did it!!

thank you so very much for this ARC read!!

ARC Review - No Spoilers

This is my first ever novella and boy what a start to my journey this was. Already being a fan of Kristin’s writing I knew this was going to be an immersive story, complete with all the nitty gritty details. This story packs a punch with an easy ~160 pages (for my e-book.)

Watching these character interactions turn into a full storyline complete with lore was something like none other. In a matter of a few paragraphs every question was answered and these characters were fully formed in front of my eyes. Then, rather than slapping us into a random environment we even got history and customs for the land.

Also it’s very fun how the narrative keeps you drawn close and always on your toes. One scene will be a really profound monologue and the next is just pure depravity and it all flows so well. There is no forcing connections between these characters either, the authors didn’t rely on cheap tricks and tropes. These characters and their feelings are present and real.

Also I didn’t know so much plot could unfold in 14 chapters, I was happily proven wrong and given the plot twist of my life.

After reading the first novella in this series, I was expecting something similar after Stella was pulled into Towerfall. I was expecting the confusion, the looking for a way to escape, and the blooming romance. However, that’s not what I found in Two. I found that this novella mainly contained a blooming romance and just a hint of reconciliation. Although the romance was to be expected, I was surprised so much of it was written in Marek’s and Valen’s point of view. It was a nice change from previous books I’ve read where the female main character is the only point of view given to the reader. I would highly recommend this novella and the Towerfall series as a whole. The characters are easy to fall in love with and I found myself routing for them from the start. I’m excited to see what comes next in The Lovers later this year.

Two is an extraordinary read that truly captivates the senses. The spice levels are perfectly balanced, adding just the right amount of heat to keep things intriguing and enjoyable. Marek's journey is both heart-wrenching and inspiring; his determination to make the ultimate sacrifice for love is a testament to the depth of his character. It’s a beautiful twist when love ultimately finds a way back into his life, leaving readers with a sense of hope and fulfillment.

As the second installment of the Towerfall series, it brilliantly connects to 'The Empress' in meaningful ways, enriching the overall narrative. The storytelling is engaging, with twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. By the end, I found myself eagerly anticipating what comes next. This book not only lives up to its predecessor but raises the stakes even higher, leaving me craving more!

Thank you to Kristen Cast and Gina Maxwell for giving me the opportunity to ARC read Two!

Two follows Stella as she gets dropped into the magical world of Towerfall into the Kingdom of Swords right into the Crown Prince’s arm… almost quite literally. Stella has no idea where she is but more important doesn’t know where her best friend Elara is either and is worried she was sucked into this world as well and could be in danger. With the Prince in desperate need of a woman to marry to appease his duties as heir, despite his relationship with the Captain of his Guard Marek, Valen constructs a plan where everyone wins. Stella is to marry him in image only, a few years later there will be a “tragic accident” where Stella ends up “dead” and in his grief Valen will step down as heir and be able to spend his life with Marek… in exchange he will help her find her friend Elara and find her a way home. Except things get a little spicy between the trio and emotions get involved.

The TENSION!!! My god Marek and Valen are 🥵 and Stella is one lucky lady to be in the middle of that sandwich. The scenes were so good and the relationship that builds between the three of them was so cute. We got a lovely connection with King the first Towerfall novella and a cute HEA for everyone. Though I keep thinking what are people gonna think happened to these two girls that just decide not to go home like just upped and vanished so casually!! I liked getting back into the world and I can’t wait for The Lovers in October to go back again!

In this novella, Stella falls into the world of tarot - literally - and makes a deal with the prince and his bodyguard to help her find her friend and get back home. But will she even want to leave after fulfilling her side of the bargain?

This novella was...okay. Not my favorite, but it had a cute storyline and I always love a good throuple 😜 I think I was just hoping for a deeper love story? But the premise is so interesting; I really love the idea of a parallel tarot realm! And I do still want to read the other novella set in this world, so adding that to my TBR for sure!

Thanks so much to the authors for my copy 💙

Kristin and Gina have opened the door, walked me in, and given me a tour of the whole house. Consider me the proud new owner, because I'm sold. I don't know what I'm in for, but I cannot wait to fall further into this reality. Consider my Towerfall era begun.

And to whoever was holding out on me with this series, well I cannot believe I didn't find myself here sooner. I'm sure there will be plenty of tarot related puns in further reviews, but I'll keep those close to my chest for now. 🤭

This novella was so much fun to read! The characters had maturity and sarcasm and were all fun yet completely believable.
We have our FMC Stella who is recovering from heartbreak and our 2 MMC’s Valen the crown Prince and Marek the captain of the guard.
Without spoiling too much they all want something different but have to work together to get there… and my do they “work together” my brain was struggling to picture certain things. This was a spicy adult amazingly fun read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

TWO: A Swords Tarot Towerfall Novella
Author: Kristin Cast, Gina L. Maxwell
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Synopsis: One woman. Two forbidden men. A kingdom that could tear them apart.
When Stella is pulled into the ruthless realm of Towerfall, a dangerous love triangle with a crown prince and his warrior lover forces her to choose between finding her missing friend or risking everything for a love that defies the empire.

For a novella with only 165 pages, the story and characters are incredibly well-developed. I was hooked from beginning to end. I’m absolutely obsessed with the characters and didn’t want the story to end. Stella was so easygoing and sincere, genuinely wanting Valen and Marek to be together without consequence even though some part of her longed to be included in that love too. Also, there was so much diversity and representation which I loved. I’m excited to get into more of this series, but honestly, I wouldn’t mind a follow-up focused just on their story.

Thank you to both authors for allowing me to be an ARC reader!

As a lifelong fan of House of Night, the way I squealed to be chosen for the ARC of this book probably scared my household.
That series had my heart as a teen, and now my adult heart is in a chokehold over this one.
This novella packs a PUNCH and is so perfectly paced. I was hooked right from the beginning, and the story flows so naturally while still offering just enough world building so you understand the world.
The dynamic between Marek and Valen is beautiful, and then when you add Stella into the mix, it just feels right. I loved the attention to detail, making sure each character had their own personality and drive behind their actions.
I am absolutely obsessed with this world, and I need to immediately dive into the other books to stay in Towerfall a little longer.

After reading The Empress, I was so excited to jump back into Towerfall, and this novella did not disappoint! Stella had sworn off love after finding her fiancé in bed with her neighbor, choosing to focus on the relationship with her best friend Elara. When Elara goes missing, leaving behind just a mysterious tarot card, Stella is pulled through a portal into the realm of Towerfall, and directly into the clutches of Prince Valen Greymourn of the Kingdom of Swords, and his guard Captain Marek Drayk. Prince Valen has two weeks to find a bride or his parents will force him to marry one of their choosing; this wouldn’t be a problem if he wasn’t completely in love with his best friend and guard captain, Marek. When the beautiful and intriguing Stella falls straight out of the sky, he concocts a plan to help her find her friend, while appeasing the marriage requirements of his parents and court. Clinging fragile hope, Stella, Valen, and Marek enter into a fake engagement, as they strive to rebuild trust and meet one another’s goals, but matters of the heart are never quite so simple.

I had such a good time reading this novella. I loved the fact that, while described as a spicy novella, there is such a good story line and character and relationship development, in addition to gloriously salacious content. Kristin and Gina did a fantastic job pouring such a wonderfully complete story with great pacing into such a small package.

Stella is an adorable, endearing, and kind character, who you can’t help but root for. (I think the world would be a much better place if more leaders cared as much about others as social workers!) While falling into a new realm might not have been her first choice, the deliciously dark and broody switch of a Captain mixed with the charmingly optimistic and dominant Prince are honestly a pretty fantastic consultation prize. It’s so refreshing that this is not just focused on the love story between Stella and the men too, but the depth of love shared between Valen and Marek is continuously exemplified.

This story was just a joy to read! Beautiful, fun, sexy, heartwarming, and a fabulous edition to the Towerfall series!

Thank you to Kristin and Gina for the eARC!!

Stella, was suppose to be celebrating her 27th birthday with Darrel, her now ex-fiance that she caught cheating on her. Instead she is with Elara, her best friend having a Wine and Witchcraft birthday celebration. When Stella returns to the living room after using the bathroom she finds Elara missing. Something feels off and the tarot cards are calling her. Stella picks up the deck of cards and one card falls out......The Two of Swords. She's confused. She picks the card up off the floor and suddenly finds herself being transported to somewhere she has never been before and lands in a tree. Underneath are two gorgeous men fighting with swords. Suddenly she falls down to the ground. Prince Valen Greymourn and his best friend, lover and captain of his army Marek Drayk are surprised. Where is this woman from?

Confused Stella tries to explain that she is from New York City. They explain that she is in the Kingdom of Swords in the realm of Towerfall. Stella just wants to find her friend, Elara. They agree to help her in exchange for her help. Prince Valen must marry within two weeks and she would make the perfect bride. Since Stella realizes that she really has no other choice, she agrees. What Stella didn't realize was that Valen and Marek were lovers. When she witnesses them in the bedroom, she suddenly becomes curious. Valen and Marek are intrigued. Maybe she would like to join them.

Valen introduces Stella as his future bride to his parents, King Orvyn Greymourn and Queen Vynestra Greymourn. Over the next two weeks wedding prep is happening as well as the relationship between Valen, Marek and Stella. Before they know it they are a real threesome with both men falling in love with Stella. Marek realizes that once Valen and Stella are married, he will have to bow out gracefully but in the end Valen comes up with a plan that will make everyone happy....even Stella's surprise guest at the wedding!

I just LOVED this very steamy, threesome love story. I really liked Valen, Marek and Stella. The chemistry these three had together was off the charts! I really like the realm of Towerfall and cannot wait to see what happens next!

📖: Two (Shadows of Towerfall: Book 2)

"𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴."

Stella has sworn off love after ending her engagement. One day, her best friend goes missing and a magical tarot card set sends her from Manhattan to Towerfalk and straight into the company of two disarmingly handsome men.

Prince Valen is expected to marry within 2 weeks but happens to be in love with Marek, Captain of the Guard. When Stella unceremoniously lands out of the sky and into his life, he decides she might just be the solution to all his problems.

But can this marriage of convenience blossom into something more? The Universe may have something up its sleeve after all.

Stella is a modern woman jaded by infidelity. While the idea of marriage is out of the question, this fake one is her only option to find her missing friend and ticket back home. But as she witnesses the steadfast and passionate way Valen and Marek love each other, she starts to consider if she’ll ever find her own HEA.

Her assimilation into their farce and life is seamless and they find it harder to accept the end of their arrangement. Is she the piece that was always missing? Or is she merely a short bonus chapter in their story?

I loved witnessing these characters overcome their past betrayals and fears and open their hearts. With witty banter and a heartwarming and steamy why choose romance, Two had me swooning and eager to read more stories set in this world!

Huge thanks to the authors and Bloom for the ARC of this novella. This is my honest and voluntary review

Holy hotness! Gina L. Maxwell is an author I’ve read several times before, but Kristin Cast is a new author to me, thus making me new to the Towerfall universe. I was NOT prepared for all the spiciness this book, or rather novella, cooked up.

Two is the second Swords Tarot Towerfall novella. I didn’t read the first novella, King, which led me to think that I might have missed a little something, but nothing too major. Two starts with Stella walking into her living room, expecting to find her best friend Elara sitting on the sofa where she left her. But instead, Elara is gone, without a trace. The only thing that seems out of place is the ancient deck of tarot cards Stella purchased recently, which is giving off a strange kind of energy. When she picks up a card, Stella is immediately teleported to a different realm and crashes down onto two men.

Valen, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Swords, and Marek, captain of Valen’s personal guard, have no idea what to make of Stella appearing out of nowhere. The two men are as different as night and day, but are also best friends and clandestine lovers. While Marek doesn’t trust Stella, Valen views her appearance as an opportunity. Valen proposes a marriage of convenience to get his parents off his back, in exchange for helping Stella find Elara, if she is in the realm as well. Soon, the trio finds themselves not only lying to those around them but also engaged in a romance they never saw coming.

Two is told from multiple points of view. I can without a doubt say that I loved every moment of it. Valen and Marek together are hot and intense. But when you add Stella to the mix, things get even steamier. I actually find myself wishing there was more of their story because I’m not ready to leave them behind.

This book made me have to take a few cold showers 🥵

Stella purchases an ancient tarot deck which holds more power than she thought. She is about to do a reading for her best friend Elara but when she comes back to the table, her friend has vanished. Confused and feeling a buzz in the air, she fumbles while reaching out and touches the tarot deck..

Stella keeps seeking answers from the universe. Jaded by her cheating ex fiancée, she has sworn off relationships..until the universe throws her, literally, into a kingdom in a different realm and into the arms of two stupidly handsome men.

Proposals are made and deals are struck. Everyone will get what they want. But they all get more than they bargained for.

Prince Valen, Captain Marek and Stella begin tearing down each other’s walls. Soon they can’t get enough each other, Emotionally and physically. 😉 Will they keep to the deal or will they propose something else?

Swoon worthy-Multiple POVS-HEA-Triade-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Enchanting world. Obsessed with anything Tarot so I ate this book right up. The realm of Towerfall is divided into 4 kingdoms: Swords-Cups-Wands-Pentacles.

Thank you to both authors for this gifted ARC for review consideration. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book takes place in another kingdom within the realm of Towerfall, which we are first introduced to in Kristin Cast's book The Empress. Now I will say that it is not necessary to have read The Empress before you read this book, but I would suggest it if only to understand the world of Towerfall a little better.

This book focuses on our main characters Stella, Valen and Marek. Stella is just a girl living life and enjoying tarot with her best friend in New York when she stumbles into Towerfall (quite literally). There she meets Valen, who is the crown prince and Marek, who is the captain of the prince's royal guard.

When Valen finds himself in a predicament he proposes a plan to Stella and even though she barely knows him, she decides to help. The three then must work together in order to make sure this plan doesn't fall through, but one thing they never planned for was the unmistakable attraction between the three of them.

This book releases April 29th and you should check it out. Especially if you are a fan of quick reads, a fake engagement, why choose and spice. Also this book is told between all 3 characters points of view which I personally enjoyed. The spice is also spicing which is always a plus for me.

I've been reading this short story called Two, A Swords Tarot Towerfall Novella, written by Kristin Cast and Gina L. Maxwell.

A very spicy novel about Stella, a girl who refused to get with another men because of the betrayel of her bethrothed and seeks refugee to a set of magical Tarot cards. When she gets this one card she tumbles into another realm and meets Valen, prince and his protector Marek.. They turned out to be in love together and have a bit of a forbidden romance.. Stella is very much intrigued and she gets caught up between this romance...

At first I had a WTF moment at the start.. I couldn't follow it because it was a bit rushed at the start. After a while I could comprehend this reason and had more of a build-up so I could enjoy it more.

I've known Kristin Cast her books, and I am an utterly fan of her when she was writing together with her mom, P.C. Cast. And because I got the opportunity to get in her Arc-team I just couldn't refuse!

And now I'm officially lost into her stories so I can't wait to read more!

For me this is a very good start and a 4 star read for me!

I absolutely love how Gina is able to mix fantasy with our world. It's such a perfect way to ease people into fantasy!

Stella has just caught her fiancé cheating and just wants to have a quiet night at home with her best friend and her new tarot card deck. She leaves the room for a minute and comes back to fight d her best friend gone and the two of swords on the floor. when she picks it up, she is teleported to another realm landing between Prince Valen and Captain Malek. the prince has just been told by his parents that the time has come for him to marry and produce and heir. Not only does he not want to marry, but he and Malek are already in a relationship. the three strike up a deal where Stella will agree to marry Valen to keep up appearances and, after they help her find her friend, they will fake her death so she can leave and Valen and Malek can be together. The plan seems simple enough until Valen and Malek realize their relationship would be better if Stella was involved as well? Can Stella give up her life back home and stay with these two men, and if so, what will become of her friend?

I absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it.

I actually liked this one even more than its predecessor. I always like a good trio and even better when swords cross.

This one follows Elena’s friend, Stella, who gets dropped into Towerfall shortly after Elena but in a totally different spot. She runs into a prince and his captain of the guard, a man he’s 100% in love with, and they hatch a marriage of convenience scheme so the prince and captain can eventually be together.

The thing I appreciated about this one, is that Stella, Valen, and Marek spend a significant amount of time together. I think it’s a month or so between meeting and marriage which is, arguably, still pretty short but they basically spend all their time together.

Also, Stella and Elena’s reunion was everything I hoped for and perfect.

The spice in this book was also freaking amazing and I loved it.

The characters were actually well developed for only 149 pages and I enjoyed every moment.

I was gifted an advanced copy of this book to read and give an honest review.

This was an enjoyable novella in Kristin Cast’s world of Towerfell.

Kristin Cast and Gina Maxwell create a vibrant character in Stella, who literally falls out of the sky into two perfect men’s laps. While they initially ask her to be a beard for the crown Prince Valen so that he can escape the Kingdom as an emissary and live out his life with his love Marek while his younger brother matures, things start to heat up in his fake engagement.

I thought both Marek and Stella had tragic betrayals in their pasts. It was beautiful that Marek was able to love again, but I felt like he was breaking my heart giving up true love for the well-being of the royal line.

Stella was resilient and brought life and light back into the world for both Valen and Marek. She was written well, and you could see how she made life better just by being there.

Valen was a little assumptive, but he at least got Stella to agree to his plan. It was sad to see a crown Prince only partially accepted for who he really was by his family, but found the strength to be who he really was by the end with Stella’s help.

If you like MMF triad romances and romantasy, this is the novela for you! Lots of spice with open-door romance scenes, and an unexpected ending.

This was such a quick and spicy read! I have not read the first book in this series yet, but I have already purchased the ebook because I enjoyed TWO so much!

Stella, our MFC, finds her fiance with someone else in the beginning of the story, which has her swearing off love. Shortly after, she is sucked through a portal to a fantasy world where she meets two gorgeous warriors - Valen and Malek. Since it is a multiple POV, we also get to experience the plans that the warriors make for Stella to assist them with their own current predicament. Their plans could be what Stella needs to believe in relationships again.

Even though this was such a quick story, the chemistry between the characters was so well written and flowed so smoothly. The HEA ending was chef’s kiss 🤌

This honest, voluntary review is based on a pre-release copy. Thank you Kristin and Gina for this amazing opportunity!
