A satisfying category romance from Entangled's brand new Lovestruck imprint…

Two radio show hosts. One show. Who will come out on top?

In a moment of restlessness, Tate Grayson sold his multimillion-dollar company and spun his love of sports into a radio talk show. Life, and love, is too short to take seriously—a fact he enjoys rubbing in uptight radio host Noelle Butler's face.

After the death of her parents, a tragedy she blamed on herself, Noelle vowed to live a controlled, focused life. Now a psychologist, she channels her need for connection into her radio show. But when the arrogant sportscaster next door tells listeners men shouldn't get married, she's all too happy to yank the silver spoon out of his overprivileged mouth.

Their heated on-air arguments are a hit, but when the station director forces them to do a joint show for two weeks, Tate and Noelle object. They can't stand each other, despite the attraction sizzling beneath every interaction. But if they can't pull the struggling radio station back from the brink, they'll lose their jobs. Or worse, their hearts.

FOUR OPPOSITES ATTRACT STARS.

"I'm an everything man. Everything about your body fascinates me. Everything,"

description

Don't you love it when a book and 'new to you' author takes you by surprise? That's exactly what happened here, the cover looked okay, the blurb sounded interesting and I was looking forward to jumping into another 'love struck' novel. What I didn't expect was to get wrapped up in a novel that once id started I didn't want to put down, there wasn't much not to love about this book and I'd happily allow myself to be addicted to future release by this author. Readers get yourselves ready to fall in love with an opposites attract story that I'm sure will win you over from start to finish. As for me I'm still excited that this author delivered a story that is just my cup of tea.

What's it all about?
Noelle butler takes everything she does seriously and that includes her job as a talk show host dishing out advise to those who are love lost. Fellow radio presenter and sports enthusiast, Tate Grayson is as laid back as they get his flirty, charming behaviour does nothing to win him points in Noelle's eyes but when their station manager insists that they work on a project together they both have to put their differences aside and become a team. As defences drop and a friendship develops they both soon realise that opposites attract in all the best kind of ways.

What did I love?
This book was fantastic. It comes complete with an original story line, not even a sniff of Insta love and sexy, heart thumping, believable chemistry. 'Tell me something good' is the type of book that I couldn't wait to get time to be able to pick up my kindle again and jump right back into. Jamie Wesley gets a huge thumbs up from me and I can't wait to read more from this author. Anyone who knows my reading tastes can predict the things that I loved about this book, it had a fabulous relationship development, with sexual tension by the bucketful, but it also had a great way of letting the reader experience the characters learning about each other and becoming friends. I adored the way that the author plotted out Tate and Noelle falling into love and everything surrounding their journey was a joy to read about too. This book had just the right amount of steam and sweet, with a little bit of heartfelt and wonderfully predictable angst. I can wait for other romantics to love this story too.

Why not five?
As much as I was enthralled with this novel, I doubt I'll revisit it for a re read and it hasn't got that unforgettable quality to it that a five star book has for me, however id recommend this book to those romance enthusiasts who love nothing more than getting lost in a sweet novel that will undoubtably make you want to fall in love. I love a book that makes me want to cheer for both the hero and heroine and I'm happily awaiting to read more just like this.

Final thoughts ...
As you must have already discovered I was won over by this authors style and like a true addict I love to discover writing talent that suits my need for a fabulously put together romance novel. Release day is not to far away, I doubt those who love an easy romantic read will regret adding this to their to be read pile. Enjoy ... Kisses.

She had commitment written all over her. For him, relationships were all about temporary fun. Women looking for a ring need not apply.

What happens when an uppity psychologist that gives love advice on the radio comes head to head with a structure hating sports talk show host? This book.

Noelle Butler and Tate Grayson couldn't be more different. Noelle is a radio host for a love advice show. She lives her life in a neat and structured order, dreams of a love that her parents had, and gives love advice to the masses on her show. Her view on relationships? They need to have the 3 C's
Cool, commitment, and communication. Are you cool with each other? Are you committed to each other and making the relationship work? Finally, are you respectfully communicating with each other about your feelings?

All is right with her world until Tate "The Great" Grayson, the sports talk host at the same radio station as her and commitment-phobe decides to call into her show and offer his views...
"My three C's are chill, cling-off, and change.
Chill. Don't let your emotions get the best of you. Don't let her fool you into thinking you can't live without her because you can. Cling-off is kind of like bug repellent. Don't let her cling. If you follow those two words, it makes change all the easier. When things get boring, bam, you're off, your emotions unattached."

They may butt heads when it comes to their views on relationships, but that doesn't mean they're not radio gold when they do it. So it's only logical that their station director forces them to do a joint show for two weeks. A recipe for disaster or for the sparks between them to truly fly? Guess you'll have to read to find out.

I enjoyed this book, but I can't really tell you that I loved it. I think it was just a little too "sweet" for my personal tastes. It's completely a case of it's me not the book. This read like a really cute romantic comedy, but while I enjoyed it for the most part, I just didn't fell that connection between Noelle and Tate. Their bickering was entertaining but felt more friendly than sexual for the most part...at least in the beginning. I'd definitely recommend this book for those readers that enjoy a sweet contemporary romance. Who knows, I am in the minority with my opinion, so you just may love it. The writing was great and I'll happily read Jamie Wesley's future books.

I enjoyed reading this book but I hoped for more witty banter and more scenes of Tate and Noelle on the radio.

The next part is not been taken into account for my rating but I feel the need for it to be mentioned.

The cover.

The characters are described as having "Chestnut coloured skin" and "skin the colour of his favorite mocha latte". In my opinion the models on the cover do not have chestnut or mocha latte skin.
If you are going to use models for a book cover you expect them to be similar to the characters you are reading about. If a book has a guy with tattoos, the cover will have a guy with tattoos. If a girl has crazy pink hair, the cover will have a girl with crazy pink hair. So why do these models not display mocha and chestnut skin?

3 - "Sports and relationships, what do they have in common?" Stars...

Noelle Butler and Tate Grayson, have one thing in common, they work for the same radio station, everything else they pretty much disagree on, but in particular love and relationships.

Noelle’s 3 C’c for a healthy relationship - Cool, Commitment & Communication.
Tate’s 3 C’s for a healthy (non)relationship - Chill, Cling–off, Change.

After spending the past few months goading each other in staff meetings and such, things eventually take a step too far, and they end up calling each other’s shows to vocalise their disagreements on air. Unfortunately, for them the station executives think that their verbal sparring is radio gold, and they are given a regular spot for the next two-weeks to continue their debates, about relationships and sport and how the two correlate.

”Casual doesn’t mean no fun. And I want to make a lot of ... fun with you, Doc.”

This was an enjoyable and easy-going read, Tate is definitely reminiscent of the boy in the playground that pulls your pigtails, because he fancies you and wants to get your attention. Noelle, had the sexy-librarian persona down to a tee as well. Do opposites attract, and can they both make the other see that there is more to life than the defined rules and beliefs that the other lives by...

”I thought You were a breast man.” ...
“I’m an everything man. Everything about your body fascinates me. Everything.”

This is the first book I have read by Jamie Wesley, I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

”It’s been fun. It’s been frustrating. It’s been real.”

Enjoyable classically written romance novel. A little formulaic but still a cute read. It was refreshing in the fact that it didn't go for the over the top, overly detailed sex scenes that are taking over nowadays.

I do have one gripe however. The cover choice is misleading. I'd read the book either way but chestnut is a very distinct color which was mentioned many times. The cover is not true to that at all. Not sure what the handcuffs were about either. I'm sure it was an attempt to reach a wider audience but I don't like feeling like someone was trying to trick me.

The hero was a little "RELATIONSHIPS BAD, SINGLE LIFE GOOD" for my taste these days, but I liked the work part and the banter was overall very good. The ending grand gesture was also a little grander than I would have preferred, but I had no objections to them ending up together. They fit.

4 live on air stars

Tate "The Great" Grayson is a sport loving, commitment loathing radio show host. Initial impressions suggest he is a bullish rogue, who injects every conversation with a sports theme.

Noelle Butler has the radio show preceding Tate "The Great", where they discuss all things relationship based. Their phone in discussions are centred on the meaning of love and Dr Noelle dishes out advice to her wide fan base.

On the journey into the radio station one day, Tate finds himself calling into Dr Noelle's show following a preposterous piece of advice the infuriating psychologist had dished out. The resultant on air altercation leads to a rise in listening figures, peaking the controller's interest in moving forward.

The decision is made to join forces and overlap the two shows, attempting to capitalise on the dual hosts angry chemistry laden foreplay.

Jamie Wesley was a new author to me, and what a fun-tastic surprise her story was. Filled with humour, these contradictory characters commence their work forced relationship, and move towards an understanding of each other's psyche.

I enjoyed getting to know both Noelle and Tate, especially when initial impressions are proved completely off kilter. This was a delicious slow burn, followed by a fabulous mix of humour filled steam.

This was the first book I've read by Jamie Wesley, and I enjoyed this quite a bit. It’s a relatively quick read. The dialogue was snappy and the plot moves along without feeling like there’s a lot of filler. The sexual tension between the protags, Noelle and Tate, is great. It’s sort of a slow burn (think their first kiss is after 50%?).

There’s one main issue I had with the book, and it’s that I felt the central conflict relied a good bit on reinforcing certain gender roles. Noelle is a psychologist with her own radio show where she gives relationship advice. She’s a strong proponent of commitment and believes very strongly in the institution of marriage. Tate’s radio show, which comes on immediately after hers, is all about sports. He was raised by parents who were married multiple times, so he is cynical about relationships and has no interest in commitment.

For one, Noelle is dismissive of his interest at sports (at least initially), which I found frustrating. In fairness, Noelle makes it clear she’s not against sports, just uninterested, and Tate does acknowledge that he has female listeners and fans of his sports show.

The main source of conflict is their views on commitment and love, and I had an issue here as well. Noelle says near the beginning that “studies have shown married people are happier than single people” (paraphrasing). That didn’t sit right with me because I’m single and, recent long-term relationship that I just got out of a few months ago aside, I’ve been single most of my life by choice and I’ve always had these arguments with people who think I’m unhappy because of it. Tate is your typical “player” but I actually related to how his parents made him kind of jaded about marriage.

Tate comes around about commitment, and Noelle even spends time with the youth baseball team he coaches. But how interesting would it have been if the roles had been flipped, and Noelle was the sports enthusiast with commitment issues and Tate had dispensed dating advice? I wish I saw more of this in m/f romance.

But I do want to reiterate that overall I enjoyed this and look forward to reading the next book in the series!

“She wanted a real relationship with a kind, caring man who wanted a future with her”

“He wasn’t a relationship guy. He liked to keep his liaisons free and easy”

Two Radio hosts; one an arrogant sportscaster, the other a controlling psychologist, each with very different opinions on relationships. When the station decides to combine their shows for a couple of weeks to bump up the ratings, a battle of wills commences. A battle filled with stubbornness, sparring, flirt and undeniable chemistry.

We are treated to a man who will make your heart melt. Tate Greyson may be arrogant, opinionated and have a dim view on love, but underneath he possesses the capability of being a romantic and says and does the sweetest things. Noelle was likeable; quick, snippy and as competitive as Tate, underneath the prim and proper exterior is a woman who longs for a happy ever after. The phrase opposites attract was created for this couple and when they give in it's worth the wait.

description

Fun, witty, intimate and heartfelt, Jamie Wesley has written a story which is refreshing and unique. Admittedly I spent the first 25% unsure as to whether I was going to like these characters, but as the story warmed up so did my feelings; if a book can make me spontaneously and unexpectedly burst into tears of joy, then the author absolutely deserves credit. All that's left to say is I loved it and enjoy.

Tell Me Something Good was a fun story and a very quick read. It played up the enemy to love troupe very well and the banter and flirting between Noelle and Tate was spot on. I would say I enjoyed myself for about 80% of the book and then every cliché imaginable seemed to creep into the book and it pulled me out of the story a little and made me just want to get to the end. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t terrible and I certainly didn’t hate it, I just thought it had so much more potential. In the end I would say though to get it if you aren’t in the mood for anything too serious and something you can read in a day or even a few hours if you have the time.

Хороший простенький СЛР, без всяких примесей, зато со стандартным "признанием на публику" в конце))
Объем небольшой, что не может не радовать. И, кстати, для такого объема интим можно было и подсократить.
В остальном - гуд.

I really got a kick out of this cute opposite attracts book. They both work at the same radio station. Tate Grayson is the sports guy and riffs on all things sports during his time slot and Noelle Butler is a tied up and buttoned down Physiologist who give advice on love and they couldn’t be more opposite and each get on each others nerves. When he calls her during her show and then she calls him during his, their bosses think it would be a great idea for them to work together as they seem to have some kind of on air chemistry. Of course these two start to rub against each other in a good way soon. This book just worked for me and for sure I’m going to try some of this authors other books

"Tell Me Something Good" is book one in the "One-on-One" series by Jamie Wesley. This was such a great read with two strong leading characters. Noelle and Tate each have their own talk shows on the radio. They each are passionate about their shows. Noelle focuses on relationships and being positive, where Tate is all about sports. They are forced to do a show together, and with them both being set in their ways, it can get a little heated at times. My favorite scene was at the ball field with Noelle and her talk. This is my first book by this author and definitely will not be my last by Jamie. I really like the writing style and how smooth the book was overall.

I really enjoyed this one and I have Thoughts. Ready?

I bought this for a couple of reasons. First, it was 99 cents. I also saw that the author was a Golden Heart winner or somesuch and I figured she was a good writer. And the cover probably caught my eye. It's a hot cover, but why is there a white guy on it? Why the handcuffs? The hero and the heroine are both black. I've read some IR romances and I like them, but I was glad this wasn't one. I don't know why. Maybe I get enough white guys in my other reading selections.

Okay, so we have Noelle, a radio psychologist, and Tate, a sports talk show host. They both work at the same station. He's anti-love, anti-relationship. She's all about matters of the heart. Their boss gets the brilliant idea to throw them on air together for a new segment.

The banter is SO CUTE and funny. I was smiling every time Tate opened his big mouth. It's hard to pull off a commitment-shy hero but the author does it beautifully. The key, I think, is that he doesn't hate or disrespect women. He's been burned by his parents' multiple marriages, not a bad girl who did him wrong.

I loved the chemistry and the characters. Both are smart, successful and opinionated. Tate is fun. Noelle needs to loosen up. Tate coaches little league! Aww. I learned something about baseball and I came across a phrase I hadn't heard before. "Holding up the wall." This means being a wallflower? There is a strong sense of place (Dallas) and regional/cultural flair.

I didn't love the Shannon/Mike scenes and I wanted something different at the end. Maybe for Noelle to just go to Chicago instead of worrying about Tate, or for Tate to realize his feelings sooner. I've read two books with public reconciliations recently and I do not get the appeal. It makes me cringe when the couple exchanges I love yous in front of an audience. This is a strong personal preference, but I really don't think it fit the story here. Why does Tate wait to go after Noelle until she's on the air?

So I took off one star for those issues but overall I give this author and story a big thumbs up. Loved the voice and banter. Great hero and good writing. Mama likes.

CORRECTION!

The cover model is NOT a white guy like I thought. http://jennleblanc.photoshelter.com/g...

I had a really good time reading Tell Me Something Good. It was fun, lively, romantic, flirty and had a bit of drama like in any other romance novel.

Tate Grayson is a man who gets easily bored. In his state of restlessness, he sold his business and turned his love for sports into a radio talk show. He is a man who likes to live in the moment and women for him are nothing but fun and games. After seeing his parents moving from one fleeting relationship to another, he does not hold any belief in the institution of marriage or even love. According to him life is too short to waste on one woman when there are a lot more enjoyable prospects out there. A fact he strives to rub into the uptight Dr. Butler any chance he gets.

Noelle Butler is a romantic out and out. She gives relationship advice on her radio show. And her psychology degree helps her to dish out advice to lovers and single people alike. Growing up with parents who adored each other, Noelle is a romantic soul. She wants the kind of love her parents had. But she thinks she doesn't deserve it. She blames herself for her parents' death in an accident. She is a woman who is in complete control of herself and never does anything for fun. But she can't back off from a challenge. And when Tate issues a challenge she won't back down.

I loved the banter between Tate and Noelle. It was fun and at times it felt like they were going to rip each others heads off. And then there were times when they were just adorable. Both Noelle and Tate grow through the book. They learn to accept each other's views and opinions rather than force their own opinions.

The book was well written, with strong characters. It was funny as well as fun to read. The characters were great, the story was strong, and the book was overall just lovable!

From the very beginning, the author provides a very good character makeup of the hero, Tate. You can start to feel why he thinks the way he does. The chemistry between the two comes alive at the very beginning of the story; along with humor.

The heroine, Noelle, has issues of her own, and the two of them have some relationship concerns to overcome. Noelle and Tate are as different as oil and water. You can’t wait for them to connect. As the story continues, the author quickly pulls you into the storyline of their love/hate work relationship. As I continueD reading the story, I loved how the author entertains the reader with quick wit and humor, and the dialogue between Tate and Noelle is just so funny at times. The author provides great background information.

As you continue reading, you can feel the chemistry jump off the page between Noelle and Tate. I also like how the author has secondary characters involved in the storyline. The sexual pull between Noelle and Tate is very strong. The reader will enjoy the intensity and the sweetness of the love scenes. The feelings between Noelle and Tate continue to grow as does the passion between the two.

This author has found a way to make the reader truly believe in love and want to champion the happy-ever-after for Noelle and Tate. What an amazing love story to read! You will laugh, cry, and have your temperature rise once or twice. This is a quick, romantic-weekend read you can enjoy, along with a glass of wine. I would definitely look for other works from this author.

This was a nice quickie before bed:-)
Noelle/Doc was the opposite of Tate. She believed in love and relationships. He didn't. They both worked at the radio studio. He hosted a talk show about sports. She hosted a talk show about relationships. They didn't like each other. To boost up ratings they had to host a show together for a few weeks. They were thrown in to each other's worlds. After this happens the sexual tension starts. I think it had always kind of been there. It just escalated after they were working so closely together.
I laughed at times with their bets they had going on.
Loved both of them. I liked this one a lot.

HAHAHA
