In the past Jax Corbin had been the sexiest guy in high school. He was also Emma Benton’s childhood nemesis who lived next door. Emma’s life is filled with trying to make enough money to keep her family’s house from being foreclosed on and save up enough to eventually win her independence. To her dismay lately Jax has been hanging around his parent’s house and he’s started to take notice of something he hadn’t before. Emma has grown up. No matter how hot everyone thought Jax was, to Emma he was ugly. At least that’s what she kept telling herself every time she saw him watching her walk past his parent’s house when he visited from college.
Jax relished his years as a bully, he’s completely unrepentant about the humiliation he served up to “Uggie” Emma in the past, but as he insinuates himself into her life, he starts to see her as a real person for the first time. He doesn’t like what he suspects is a bad situation in her home life either. The more he is around her, the more he sees how his past treatment may have made her life harder. Jax decides magnanimously that he is going to make things up to Emma, even if he has to bully his way into her life to do it. Soon Jax is all in and it’s up to him to show Emma how he feels and convince her that this isn’t just another cruel joke he’s playing.
Well...that happened. This book has, no joke, the most abrupt ending around and subsequently I'm having a hard time rating this little ditty. 2 Stars because I hate me an incomplete story.
I'm your bully is a weird book: It has a great premise and story but it's written in a awful way. So yes, it ends up being less than mediocre because of it's poor and sloppy execution.
The idea was good, the start was very good and then after a few pages, it went to hell from there on out. Firstly lets talk about the good part of it. The way the victim felt in the beginning was very honest and realistic. I sympathized with Emma's angst and pain and she was really likeable. Oh and she and Jax had chemistry.
Well those were the good things in this book now about the bad parts where do i start? Right here, right now: It was repetitive with no apparent reason, the author had a huge problem with the extreme usage of her character's names. Personal pronouns, i'm sure she never heard of them. It was rushed, callow, too short and Jax, the main hero, was a walking contradiction.
Anyway it's somewhat all over the place, but still a nice little tale. I had a good time reading it, hence the 3 stars.
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- Fist of all what is wrong with this cover? - The writing is bad. - I wanted a little more. - Paul has his own story coming soon. - Dual POV.
3.5stars this book was really good but I wish it was longer and more fleshed out because if it had been it would def have been a 4star read as the premise was really good such a shame about length and really abrupt ending!
First time read for me by this author. This is a novella length story, and to be honest I would have liked a bit more than I got, especially the ending. Having said that this author certainly has a distinctive writing style that has you turning the pages to see what happens next. The two lead characters were well defined. I was especially drawn to Jax he was and had been a bully to Emma for as long as she could remember. But then things change between them, which confused the hell out of her, but not as much as it confused Jax. That made me laugh. He suddenly goes from being her bully to literally stalking her, he can't get enough of her. Of course Emma totally distrusts him and is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Emma's life has not been easy, she's a girl who basically survives day to day. But once Jax decides he wants her things happen fast. The intimate scenes are well written, they're earthy and hot. I will definitely be reading the next book about Jax's friend Paul.
Compelling read. Liked seeing the how the hero and heroine's barriers break and open to falling in love. The chemistry was intense. I hated seeing this story end. An epilogue would have been nice. The only negative was the heroine's abusive dad did not suffer more.
I really liked this short story, and while I agree that there could be more character development, I enjoyed the tentative romance between Jax and Emma. He's a protective, possessive hero who's there for Emma when she needs him, and I will definitely be on the look out for more of these two when I read Paul's story. Good effort, Ms. Tyse! Keep writing about these dominant heroes and their lady loves and you'll have an auto-buy fan in me.
What made the hero change? How does a heroine truly get over everything that was done to them by the bully? I’ve read plenty of bully romances but this one just lacked depth. I also would have liked to see the confrontation between the father and the hero. I almost expected him to jump in and save her at some point but it was always after the fact.
While it dragged at some points and at others I was seriously worried about the H’s mental stability, it was a decent read. Also some major moments I wanted to smack the heroine for being annoying. Loved her substitute dad that was the tattoo shop owner, he was so sweet!
Even though that ONS/drunk chick at the party was acting like a bitch, I HATE the double standard that she's a whore because she's had sex a few times, but Jax isn't? He had sex with her without even knowing her name... what does that make him??
The story is rough and needs a lot of editing/reworking to flow better, but I'm still bummed to see that there isn't a second book in this series.

I really loved "I'm Your Bully" by Andrea Tyse! In a nutshell it is the story of Emma and Jax. Emma had a difficult life growing up and Jax was always there to harass and bully her. Even when Jax went away to college he was still there to torment Emma. But the ending is something I really liked and I do not want to give it away here.
I really could relate to Emma and I've had more than my share of Jaxs in my life so this book is something that I could really understand.
I highly recommend "I'm Your Bully" by Andrea Tyse and believe she did an excellent job of creating believable characters that seem not only like people you may have known but also include pieces of you in them. You will not be disappointed with this one!
This was a hot book. It was very quick and to the point, but that didn't take away from the story. In a way it was fitting, judging from the characters. Jax and Emma had such a hate to love relationship minus the "real hate" part. A classic bully to lovers story that was told just right. I enjoyed it. A solid 4 stars.
Almost too fast, really. Everything unfolded so quickly, including the relationship that it made it difficult to think that Ajax had really been so terrible to Emma over the years, I would have liked to have seen things drawn out a bit more.
I KNOW better than to read YA. It never turns out well for me. I was in the mood for an redeemed asshole book, and couldn't find an acceptable one, and thought this might pacify me. I was wrong. The bullying description of the past was good, and the treatment Emma endured by Jax was sad. I really did feel bad for her in the beginning. Jax's total switch from bully to protector was as fast as a light switch though, and totally unbelievable. I also didn't feel any connection to the characters in this story. Felt like it needed fleshed out a bit more for an emotional investment in them.
