Relationships are strained as keeping secrets begins to take a toll. With each sister now having something to gain, but even more to lose, they each need the inheritance money more than ever. Intoxicated by the city, Thalia receives attention for her wild behaviour and society begins to ask questions. In the meantime, Erato is desperate to impress her crush with her status and approaches Charles for money. But now Charles knows the sisters are willing to betray one another, how will he use this information for his own evil gains?
Oh. I didn't like this one as well as the first. Thalia seemed to change personalities. She didn't seem cruel in the first one and I didn't get the comment that she'd seemed to dislike Clio from the beginning.
Plus, people seemed to do and think things that . . . didn't make sense.
There was also an unfortunate tendency to get to a dramatic scene . . . and then skip past it to the aftermath.
As with the first installment of this series, this book is short, but offers more insight into Thalia, Erato and Clio. There seem to be so many secrets that are eluded to that I can't wait to explore further. I LOVE how the author ends each installment with a cliff-hanger; it really has you looking forward to exploring it in the next installment. Time to read the third installment. Happy reading!
