A blizzard, a hunky chef, and an accident-prone milkmaid—ingredients for a passionate fling, or a recipe for a blazing romance, hot enough for a lifetime of winters?

When Maxine Grant finds herself out in the freezing rain of a winter storm, an unlikely hero comes to her rescue. Brice Vanzetti is not only a moody hunky chef, he's the owner of a new black Lexus sporting a red scratch on the bumper. A red that perfectly matches Jilly, her beloved car. Maxine isn't looking for a knight in shining armor, but is it too much to ask that he comes with a sense of humor along with the hot, hard body?

Brice already has a lot on his plate just keeping his restaurant running. He doesn't have the time to deal with a woman who drives a rust bucket and doesn't know when to come in out of the icy rain. She may have left a mark on his car, but Brice is determined she won't put a dent in his resolve to remain a bachelor. No matter how sexy she looks when she's mad!

Forced to seek shelter together in his house, more heats up than Brice's hot chocolate! Stormed in with nowhere to go, Brice and Maxine can keep their differences between them, or give in to the sensual heat and accept the gifts winter has bestowed upon them.

True love can be found in the strangest ways. Winter Gifts is a very romantic story about two very different characters. Not only are they on completely different social levels, but neither of them are searching for love. I love this story because it is not as far fetched as most romance books. The events that take place in this book could actually happen to anyone.

The characters are all amazing. Maxine is a simple, down to earth farmer with a snappy sense of humor. Her half sister, Rebecca, is a spoiled brat that always gets her way. Brice, aka the Hunky Chef and Rebecca's ex-boyfriend, is a man that has sworn off love and lives his life by his own rules. He wants absolutely nothing to do with commitment. However, Maxine may be the one to change his mind. Together, these three main characters spice this book up with their completely opposite personalities and their hilarious comments.

As I said before, the story itself is very believable. Although it is believable, it is unique. It's not everyday that you connect with someone the way Maxine did. I enjoyed watching all of the characters grow and change as the story went on. Even Rebecca makes major changes that I would have never expected. I liked being able to see both Maxine and Brice's feelings and thoughts throughout the story. I feel like the reader has the upper hand when we know what is going on while other characters don't. I'm also very happy that Ashley didn't overload readers with sex scenes. There are some and they are great but it wasn't overkill.

I will be recommending this book to my friends immediately. I literally couldn't put it down. If you like romantic stories, this book is a must read.

Maxine Grant is used to not being looked at twice, she is a hard working woman who provides for her stepmother and takes pride in what she does. When she accidentally hits the bumper of Hot Chef Brice Vanzetti, she plans to pay for it and apologize. Of course her act of trying to fix what she has done is met with disdain, arrogance, and a spike in her temperature. When a snow storm rolls in and Maxine is left with a broken down car, she finds herself in the company of the one man who continues to drive her nuts, Brice.

Maybe it’s the setting or the fact that there is no escaping from Maxine, but Brice can’t help from being intrigued. Behind her over inflated coat he finds a soft woman who surprises him at every turn. Brice doesn’t do commitment, but for the first time in his life he is thinking of taking a chance hoping Maxine will leave him in one piece if it doesn’t work out.

It was a good little book to read. I liked the characters. Wish would have told more about Brice the Chef. Ending seemed like was wrapped up in to big of a hurry. maybe because book so short. Just my opinion. I thank Goodreads for giving to me. But would not pay full price for it
