Sock Monkeys have issues with moths. They also have trouble with pterodactyls, home improvement projects, kittens (who tend to unravel them), and paparazzi. They really like bananas, jet packs, sock puppies, and romance, but have MAJOR issues with clowns, embarrassing relatives (King Kong), and gym socks. Through it all, they really adore one thing. Author of the breakout hit Zombies Hate Stuff , Greg Stones turns his popular, playfully absurd illustration style and subversive humor to the lovable but issue-fraught world of sock monkeys, detailing their inner lives and misadventures with a playful wit that will appeal to cheeky monkeys of all ages.
this is one of those anthropology textbooks covering the behaviors and culture of sock monkeys, with a narrow focus on heady academic concerns such as "what they really like," "what they have issues with," "what they have major issues with," and "what they simply adore."
you will learn a lot about sock monkey values, and the visuals are pretty stunning, too. who knew there was so much going on in the world of our woolen neighbors??
here is a pop quiz because i've been so time-starved lately i must resort to gimmicky reviews FUN!!!!
Really cute coffee table type book. A funny and heartwarming look into the life of the sock monkey. Wonderful illustration, so good that I thought these should be sold as prints.
Passed by a shelf and one of this series caught my eye. I remembered reading another one of this series and thought it was cute. Found a few others so picked them all up.
Read this one and thought is was funny and cute and how it incorporated the other books into this one. Mr. Stones has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed this one.
I still am trying to figure out how this can be in the Nonfiction section.....
This little book covers the topics of what Sock Monkeys have issues with, what they really like, what they have MAJOR issues with, and what they simply adore.
It is totally random and hilarious. It is not for (young) kids.
