And Baby Makes Three: The Next Generation #4
The Cowgirl and the Unexpected Wedding
Sometimes doing the right thing isn't what you might imagine in this fan-favorite story from New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods
Half virginal innocence, half saucy temptress, willful Lizzy Adams had long since stolen rancher Hank Robbins's heart. And then one night, passion overcame common sense and left them both with a little more than just wonderful memories—and the determination to "do the right thing."
For Lizzy, that meant not roping the rugged rancher into marriage. And for Hank, well…what would it take to make the beloved mother-to-be his wife?

557 books4,658 followersWith two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.
"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."
The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.
Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.
A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.
In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.
When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

So much for editing
I didn't finish the book. I'm sure it's a good story, but where is the editor? There are so many grammatical errors in the book. I couldn't take it.

Stubborn and willful Lizzy Adams is used to getting her way. She always had her heart set for rancher Hank Robbins. She decides to find out what their feelings are for each other. The passion is strong but solutions about what to do about their relationship are up in the air. Things become even more unsettled when they get some unexpected news.
Can Hank and Lizzy find a compromising solution where they each can get what they want and be happy?

Lizzie Adams has been in love with Hank Robbins from the neighboring ranch since she was 16 years old and her Daddy made her believe she could have what ever she wanted until she grew up and wanted to be a big city doctor and saw that she could not ask Hank to leave his ranch.
After some compromising the worked it out and found their HEA. Look forward to more from this family.

Hank Robbins has been in love with Lizzie Adams since she was too young to understand. She's now in medical school and she is all grown up. They belong together but they need to figure it out for themselves. Lizzy has always had the way smoothed for her by her powerful father. She has to grow up and figure out her life for herself. There are a couple of surprises in store for them, too.

This was one of the 1st books 📚 I read after I sent a mail in monthly subscription I was just 12 😇 and falling in love with Romance Novels for the 1st time. I have since re-read it and I still enjoyed the writing and cute story.

Love conquers all!
Hank and Lizzy are proof that with time, patience and compromise, love will win out! Hank and Lizzy waited so many years for each other and they finally figured out a way to make their life together a reality!

3.5 I really liked that it was not drawn out, or beat around the bush. From the beginning, the excitement started.

I'm literally writing this review over 4 months later after having read this book, so forgive me if anything I say is vague. I'm writing this off of what I remember about this.
Overall, I found this... okay. It still kept my interest (for the most part), and I did want to know what ended up happening considering there was quite the drama between Lizzie and Hank. However, I still can't really say I liked the story lol.
This is my first time reading a harlequin romance, and I'm 21, so I'm honestly not so sure if I'm the targeted group for these sort of novels? Maybe not, since I didn't feel like it was really my cup of tea. What I didn't like about the book is how we know from the book cover of Lizzie holding her stomach AND the book series title ("And Baby Makes Three...") that she was gonna end up pregnant, but Lizzie herself doesn't actually fall pregnant until deeper into the book. Huh? I found that a little absurd honestly, because wasn't the unexpected pregnancy a more integral part of the story? So why is it that she doesn't actually discover she's pregnant until much later? Perhaps the surprise pregnancy trope is also not for me. She got pregnant so late into the book when we already know from the book cover AND series title AND blurb, that it was extremely underwhelming lol.
Also, I know Hank had been pining for her for a long time and wanted to marry her bad, but I didn't like how he almost made it seem like she should marry him because of the child. He made it seem like it was unacceptable for them to stay unmarried since she was with child. Ladies, JUST BECAUSE you and the father of your baby are unmarried, that doesn't mean you guys HAVE TO marry. Maybe I just don't have those traditional beliefs? I understood Lizzie's POV more of (wanting to keep the baby but) still wanting to follow her own dreams in the city and becoming a nurse. Then, I was kind of disappointed that she ended up following with what he kinda wanted all along?? You can say that oh no well she changed her mind/minds can change and that she's thinking of the baby, but it almost felt like she compromised because of him and other ppl in her life aka her dad urging her to marry Hank.
Speaking of her dad, he said something about feminism (I don't rmbr what now) that kinda rubbed me the wrong way! He seems to have the personality of the type of guy I wouldn't want to be with lol. Anyways, you can say that I'm just being a hater for no reason- but overall the book was okay. I'm trying to still take it in for its entirety. It wasn't necessarily bad? Just not rlly my taste. In another world, there can be a compromise where Lizzie didn't have to give up on her dream of being a nurse in the big city. +Where she didn't have to experience pressure to marry Hank!
