Desperate to find his mate, Simon Le Beau joined the Ma-rines. No matter how badly he wanted his destined female, she was-n't going to walk up and knock on his door. Maybe a bit of travel while serving his country would bring him a little luck in love.
Four years later, he returns home from deployment, stuck in wolf form. Little did he know, his mate would, in fact, show up at his family’s plantation. If only he had opposable thumbs.
Rose O’Leary is a beautiful, voluptuous woman. Raised in fos-ter homes, she fears abandonment and avoids men. Relationships bring nothing but pain.
As if they didn't have enough problems, a secret organization is out to destroy the Le Beau family. What better way to cripple the roy-al family than to steal their females? And the one they hired wants Rose for himself.
Welcome to New Orleans, Louisiana, where every myth and scary story you were ever told is real. A place where the things that go bump in the night, or daytime for that matter, are surprisingly friendly. For the most part.
Take a good look at your neighbor, the person sitting beside you at the bar, or your coworker. Are you sure they’re human?

Dold continues to surprise and delight in this paranormal HEA filled with hot, possessive shifter brothers who are in love with REAL women... curves and all.

What is even better is that the story continues & overlaps from Cade's book. We still get a multi-POV story with 'insight' from previous couple - Cade & Anna. The story expands and becomes more complex adding on another layer of characters and eloquently coalesces the story.

I fell in love with Cade & Anna but whatever preview was given in their story of Simon made me fall in love with that messed up wolf.

Simon has spent 4 years in battlefield not getting what every wolf NEEDS in order to survive and function in life... TOUCH. Such a simple thing human are able to adapt to live without but it is crucial to very tactile creatures like werewolves. In order to heal and cope Simon turns inward and spends most of his time in Wolf form.

With the help of Anna's magic healing, his Magical mother, and most importantly introduction of Anna's best friend, Emma, who just HAPPENS to be his Mate he is able to pull himself together to be a mate that is worthy of her.

Both his human soul and wolf soul craved this. They craved her.

Lifting her hand to his lips, he turned her palm over to kiss the center, relishing her racing pulse, knowing he was the cause.
“I want you, Rose, only you.”

Dold has established a perfect formula for a good fun series with lots of romance, action, and increasing danger. Seriously LOVE IT!

BTW, Dold is a tricky tricky woman! She gives these previews of the next brother's 'mating' meeting at the end of each book that just DRAWS you in... and I must say I. CAN. NOT. WAIT for next in this series.

Dold is truly developing a strong series and with each one book daring to go further in story telling. That passion is almost palpable... oh wait it is *touches kindle* YES YES..

... Anyways... as I was saying Dold must be using some kind of magic (or just really great Authoring lol) to draw you in and keep you enthralled... falling in love with Le Beau Brothers... one at a time.

Simon joined the army to help serve his country, the four years he spent away from those of his kind left him withdrawn and now he stays in his wolf form all the time. Rose never had a family of her own, she doesn't think that anybody will stay. Now someone wants to usurp the Le Beaus hiding in the shadows using other people to achieve this goal, denying the Le Beaus their mates could be their downfall. Can Simon find the strength to do what he needs to to keep Rose. Will Rose find the love she needs and get the family she has always wanted. Can the Le Beau family stop the power hungry forces intent on destroying them? This book is the second book in the Le Beau brother series, this book is an entire novel but I would recommend reading the Cade the first book in the series before this one to get a better understanding of the backstories and relationships. Not only did I really enjoy the first one, I bought this book as soon as it was released so while I was offered a complimentary copy for review I didn't need it since I had already one clicked Simon as soon as I saw it was on Amazon. This was another great shifter read, we already knew that Simon had been in the army from Cades book but in this one we get to see him in the army and his progression into the withdrawn wolf that he has become. I liked Simon and felt bad for the poor guy, he was a strong man that was just a little bit broken and you could see that he would do everything possible to have Rose. Rose was likable character because she seemed genuine, she had a nice soft outer shell that came across as shy but she isn't completely soft, she has this tough girl inside who can take care of herself. I liked how Rose and Simon didn't have that forced feeling to their relationship, they fit together smoothly. On top of Rose and Simons personal problems, a crazy wolf wants Rose for his own after being sent by people who want the Le Beaus out of power. This fast paced sexy book is a good follow-up to the first La Beau book and I'm more than ready for the third book in the series.

Dold actually broke my heart with this one. The events and emotions that wind their way through this story are not only captivating, but are also the type of events that one never wants to live, even if others do every day. Dold goes in depth as to what a shifter is and what he needs in this novel. You find out what it really means to be a wolf shifter as she adeptly makes this part of the storyline, always keeping with the fast forward pace of her well put together tale.

I love how Dold mixes crass & sass in with love and heartache the way you find them in real life. Her characters aren’t always prim and proper. They combine the world as we know it with that supernatural element that we all wish we had. Dold’s characters are a little off centre, but completely true to themselves and their loved ones. It’s great to see a romance without your stereotypical character types. The female lead is slightly older & larger than the typical author would present, making her someone the rest of us can relate to. And the family that stands behind them is a hodgepodge mix of different personalities and eras. They all come together in a close knit fashion that allows the reader to feel like they’re part of the story rather than simply a bystander.

I really enjoy the dialogue in this novel. Dold mixes modernity with times gone by in the ways that her characters speak. Their centuries of existence shine through, and you really get a feel for who they are simply based on how they talk (and think). This mixing of eras also shines through in the narrative. The inherent mixing that ensues allows the reader to really feel what the characters do, and experience life as they do.

As much as I enjoyed reading the first novel in this series, loved this one was even better. Dold is definitely an author to keep an eye on in the future.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Simon Le Beau joined the Marines in the hopes of meeting his mate, but four years later he returns home stuck in his wolf form. Rose O’Leary is a beautiful, voluptuous woman that was raised in foster homes, fears abandonment and avoids men. As if they didn’t have enough against them, a secret group organization is out destroy to the Le Beau family and what better way to cripple the royal family than to steal their females?

The second Le Beau brothers’ story is emotionally gripping and holds readers in its thrall from the very beginning. The romance between Simon and Rose is an emotional roller coaster that captures readers’ hearts as the hero and heroine overcome their issues to reach for their happily ever after.

The plot is fast paced and full of thrilling suspense and excitement as Rose finds herself being targeted by an unknown group of rogues, of course the situation is further complicated that Rose is has no idea just who or what her enemies are. Surprising twists keeps readers on their toes while they bite their nails in anticipation of what’s to come. While the Simon and Rose story does have a conclusion their enemy remains elusive ensuring that readers are going to keep coming back for more of the charming ‘Le Beau Brothers’.

Another good shifter story. Simon returns from the war badly hurt in spirit and body. His mate appears, but she has deep wounds, too and they need to learn to heal themselves and each other. At this point, it's revealed that the Le Beau family has an enemy who is out to get the new mates.

I really enjoyed this book and hope the next ones in the series are just as good.

This is the second of the series, though it could be read as a stand alone, I say you'd be missing out terribly if you didn't read Cade :) But anyways, you meet Simon for a moment in Cade's book, and you get to see that he's a little broken, or a lot broken. Being a shifter, when he joined the military, he lost contact with not just his pack, but also with other people. No one hugs or touches in the military, so his wolf caused him some major problems. Plus he couldn't shift so staying human for so long has made him more than just withdrawn. It's going to be a long while before he can pull all of his pieces back into the puzzle. :)

So, Anna is Cade's mate, and she tries to help Simon heal a little of himself everyday, but it isn't until Anna gets her friend Rose to come over for Thanksgiving with the family that Simon literally wakes up. In an amazing moment, Simon realizes that Rose is his mate and he's not stuck between making her officially his mate, and staying far away from her because his wolf is a little out of control. He wants to be the man she needs, not the broken shifter he is. But he is eventually going to realize that Rose doesn't care that he's got a past, or is broken, because she has her own issues and her own past.

Rose is quite amazing. When you learn her past, you'll want to hug her, and be so proud that she has even made it this far. She's got a few insecurities, but Simon is going to help her get over those, all she has to do is let him in to help her. She's not quite the kick ass heroine that most people would think, but I am so happy that she learned how to be kick ass. You see, there's these were people who have been stalking her, and when they finally catch up with her, she is very not so gently introduced to the world of supernaturals. Like werewolves and vampires, and she's a little freaked out. But, she's a champ about it, and she's a great match for Simon.

The plot was well done. It's not just taking Rose, but it's now opening up the larger plot scheme that will affect all the Le Beau family, and this is changing things. I know we've met Stefan and Marcus, but now, we need to meet a few more of those other brothers LOL. I absolutely cannot wait for book three :) And in the meantime, I think you should all check out the first two. Ms Dold has a wonderful way of writing, and thank goodness that she doesn't make the people from Louisiana, like myself, sound like ignorant idiots. So, what are you waiting for, go get your now! 5 Extra HAWT Wolfy PAWS!!

Meine Empfehlung

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I read a broad spectrum of books, but I confess that Paranormal is not my usual choice. I answered a request for a review for a book tour, and the summary of the book sounded interesting, so I decided to read Simon.

V. A. Dold captured my interest!—I will read Cades story in Book 1, and probably, Stephans in Book 3 when it is released.

I really like a series of books that will stand on their own, but still add depth and texture by building upon each other, bringing in families, friends— and enemies?(Wow—psycho Travis!). I liked the richness of the French Quarter, the Bayous.

I liked that Rose wasn’t a hot young Twiggy, but an average person with curves and insecurities, and a painful past—a woman who found strength within to survive and overcome when faced with a terrifying situation.

And what mortal woman wouldn’t be drawn to Simon, a strong, valiant, Marine--a man who gave everything he had and more—a man who came home, seemingly broken beyond repair, lost to his human side and stuck in his wolf-shifter being. He finally meets the one person who can heal him--Rose. I liked the “love” in this book—yes there was steamy sex, but the love that Rose and Simon shared was what tugged at my heart.

The PTSD factor was another point of interest to me. It is so prevelant amongst those who have served their countries around the world. My heart is always touched when I consider what these people have endured, and while many come home physically disabled, I have to believe that almost all of them come back emotionally damaged to one degree or another. I liked what Simon and Rose planned to do, to help others who came home broken and tormented.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the charactors; their extended families.

This book is full of paranormal elements-but also heroism, pain, strength, excitement, danger, and love. As I said, I don’t normally read Paranormal, but Dold opened a whole new world to me—and I enjoyed the journey.

Don’t miss a great read!

Although you don’t have to, I’d suggest you start with Cade’s story and read them all!

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

The cover is just stunning, and I love it though his hair not so much!!

Okay this is actually the 2nd time I have read the book :) I think I enjoyed it even more the 2nd time around. The first time I read it as a beta reader, and I felt a little weird reviewing it at the time because I didn’t know if the story would change. Later I bought it, and this is what I just read. :)

V.A. is an amazing story teller, and this series is definitely getting better as it goes. I think the more you get emotionally invested in the family, the more you connect :)

This of course is a shifter book which is one of my favorite genres if you watch my reviews :) Simon is military with some issues from this time because he is a shifter. Rose is sort of timid in some ways, but it was awesome to see how she developed throughout the story. Of course, some of my favorites from the first book were back in this book just not the focus.

I wonder if there will be a vampire series in V.A.’s future with Etienne and his crew. Sorry just me wondering out loud….errr rather in type ;)

I definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves the paranormal romance genre, but especially to those who love shifter books. I can’t wait for more!!

This is the second book in the series and they should be read in order. Simon spent 4 years in the Marines. When he joined he had no idea the toll it would take on him. Shifters need touch and being deployed with Marines doesn’t leave much chance of that touch. Now trapped in his wolf form after returning home he needs to find a way to heal. Rose is Anna’s best friend and has come to visit her. Little did they both know that this visit would change both their lives in more than one way. Anna has been helping heal Simon but Rose could be the one to complete that healing. Rose hasn’t had the best life and has very little experience in the relationship department. She doesn’t really have any blood family, just the family she has made for herself. Simon knows right away that she is his mate. Now he needs to find a way to be the man she needs. How can he claim her properly when he can’t hold his human form for very long? Just when Simon is fully healed he may lose his dream before he even gets to really hold it. Travis is an insane wolf with ideas of his own. He has been hired to go after to the Le Beau’s and wants Rose for his own mate. This book was so great. Again I was hooked from the beginning. Rose wasn’t as easily accepting as Anna and had to be shown. She has lots of self-doubt and was worried that this mate thing wouldn’t last. What would happen if he changed his mind in a couple years or if they did mate and then she wasn’t what he wanted? Travis made a tiny appearance in the first book as well. I felt for him even though what he did was horrible. Simon is a fantastic character who needed love to finally fully heal. Rose was healed by love aw well just differently than Simon. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and some of V.A. Dold’s other books as well.

💢 I thought book #1 caught me from page one to the end, taking me on the ride of my life. But book #2 captivated me from the first page to the last. Full of magic with my book boyfriend.

🔹️Simon Le Beau is a WolfShifter and a Marine. Wolves love to touch and be touched, four years of not being touched effected him. So much so that by the time he finally made it home his wolf took over shifted and would turn back human. First Anna his brothers new mate tried to heal him but when her best friend came for dinner Simon’s wolf and human came alive.

🔹️Rose O’Leary is human who had always been a big woman and Anna’s best friend she’s an orphan never having friends except Anna and her adopted brothers who protected her in the home. Never trusting any man. Then there was Simon….

The boys’ mom is at it again…praying to the Goddess for their mates! Simon is back from the war and stays to himself. He spends most of his time in wolf form. He hardly interacts with others in his family. He suffers from not having enough contact from when he was in the marines and Anna is the one, he responds to when she finally touches him. Come to find out, Anna is a healer and is intent on healing Simon. Then comes along her friend Rose…and Simon comes alive!!! He recognizes his mate but believes he is too broken for her. Rose experienced a childhood trauma that makes her skittish around certain situations. She is inexplicably drawn to Simon but has no clue why. There is a rogue on the loose who has taken a liking to Rose. Now, he has taken her! Can they save her in time? What will he do to her? Will Simon and Rose have their happy ending? This is the second book in the series and V. A. Dold does not disappoint when putting her pen and skills to writing the series. I received this book as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

I love shifters and their sense of loyalty and that is why they make the best mates/husbands/boyfriends. But I am especially fond of these brothers because they are all different yet still love and support one another, despite the heckling we get to experience. Simon and Rose are extra special. I happen to relate to them because I have either experienced some of what they have or know someone very close to me that did. War, abuse both of them are touched by pain others cannot understand and it made this story, all of their stories really, more real and relatable and lovable. Rose has found she does not need to be a victim anymore and that's an amazing thing. Simon, the poor guy, I have a soft spot for people in need which is why the second he was introduced in the first book I wanted to hug him tightly and never let go. Seeing him transform as he finds happiness is extra fulfilling. The romance between these two is sweet and steamy. Loved this book cannot wait to read the next one.

Loved this book and message

I loved the message of this book. Simon suffers from severe PTSD and needs touch to keep his wolf at bay. I love how Simon and Rose meet. Rose comes with her issues and I love how Simon helps her realize his love is not fleeting. So much happens in this book that I was freaking out happy!!Cade and Anna have a boy on the way, you meet Rose's brothers, you get to hear more about Etienne the vampire, Rose is kidnapped, the Unforgotten Hero Foundation...so much happens! I absolutely love the TUHF and premise behind it. Great job bringing awareness to an epidemic we have in today's society and our soldier returning. There should be more of these created in the world! We should take care of our brave soldiers that sacrifice for our freedoms. Great book! Would highly recommend and I am so eager to read the next brother, Stefan and El's story!

This is the second book in the La Beau series but it is the first one in the series I have read. Even without reading the first book I did not feel like I needed to pick up the first story to fill in missing gaps. I loved how much of a role family played in this book from his brothers new mate helping to heal Simon so he could hold his human form for his mate Rose to seeing how much his parents loved all of their children and were committed to finding their individual mates so they could be as happy as they are. This story was a little of a slow burn build up romance and I like this kind much more than the instant mate with no previous interactions that jumps straight into bed. I will certainly be looking forward to more books in this series and may even pick up the first book, just because I enjoyed this one so much.

I read this on the heels of Cade so I found the first 18% or so of the book quite repetitive. I understand why the author did this and it would be helpful if you had read the books quite a bit apart.
Otherwise, I enjoyed reading Simon’s story and seeing how his time overseas affected him and how he recovered. It was interesting to see how he planned to use the experience to move forward with his life and create his future.

I felt like we didn’t really get enough of the story of Rose. How is she comfortable creating a huge fundraiser dinner? Not too many people are going to organize a $10,000 plate or even suggest it without experience.

Enjoyable but still felt I needed more reason for Simon enlisting.
I could never understand why Simon enlisted. It just didn’t make sense and we are given no truly understandable reason.
Then we get Rose and Anna going shopping, when Rose felt she was being watched, without any guards or protection, so she can be attacked.
Rose takes meeting a vampire extremely calmly, but freaks out about there being other supernaturals.
Just like book one, this one has time jumps of hours or more too. You will be reading about something then suddenly we have moved on.
The pity is book one was really very good.
Read in the box set through KU.

Another great story!

I remember meeting Simon in Cade's story and wanting to learn more about him immediately. I was so happy when I discovered his story was the next one!

Simon is broken and damaged after his time in the Marines, unable to stay human for very long. Meeting his mate in Rose allows him to repair the damage to his psyche. Unseen, malevolent forces work behind the scenes to rip Rose from Simon, presenting a challenging obstacle they must overcome to begin their new life together.

Simon has returned home from the service and he just can’t fit in. He spends most of his fine in wolf form and depressed. Rose is a friend is Anna. Anna is married to Simons’s brother Cade. Cade wanted to surprise Anna and brought Rose to their home for a visit. But when Rose meets Simon she just wants to pet him? Oh my they can’t deny the connection. Even though Simon is fighting his inner battles he realizes that arose is his mate. But he thinks he is too broken to claim her. Of course she gets a little freaked out with all the wolf stuff but in the end they make a pretty good team.

Simon served in the Middle East for four years as a marine. The things that happen and the things he sees start to affect him. When he comes home the only way he can cope is in his wolf form. Rose was brought up in foster care. She has trust issues and lets very few people in her life, When she meets Simon she knows she can help him. What they don't know is there is someone who wants to destroy Simon's family. I really enjoyed this book and the characters were interesting.

If you are in the mood for a romance with some action and suspense and a lot of twist and turns this this one is for you. The story flows well and it reads very smooth. The sex scenes are sooo so soooo good. I like that V.A. feels that you dont need to have your sex spelled out in every little detail and the language was less in your face.

A Marine, home again fresh from a hitch overseas in a hot zone. He's an empath as well as a shifter, he's in a bad way mentally, and just to confuse things more, he's just met his mate. There's trouble and a girl, she's curvy and sweet, and there's a HEA ending. Another great installment in this series.

Rose comes for a visit after Anna and Cade get married. She learns she is Simon’s mate. Simon is just back from his 4 years in the Marine Corp and is so depressed he stays in his wolf form most of the time. Together they start a charity to help other vets with PTDS. This is a great story with lots of heart.

I really liked Simon's story, though I don't like the cover of this book. The story is an easy read. I am drawn in by the relationship that the Le Beau family has with each other. It is so easy to see this world and the things that are happening. The parents, Emma and Isaiah are funny with their meddling. I'm wondering if it will ever catch up with them. Nice quick read.

A good read

This story has a lot action and suspense with more twists and turns than a rollercoaster. I loved the message from this book, returning men and women of our military are being forgotten. Having a son with PTSD, this story really hit home. This fast paced sexy book with it's steamy love scenes is a must read.
