Court of the Fae Princes #2

Blood of the Ruthless

Rate this book
I ran from my four fae princes, then trouble found me…

My mates have all the wooing power of a badger with diarrhea, so it's no surprise when I'm not exactly eager to bend over and become their bride. Not that their ridiculously bad moves are entirely to blame. I'm quaking in my cheap boots at just the thought of having four husbands.

One is bad enough, am I right?

Except when I decide to run for it to get a little space, I'm kidnapped and taken on the adventure of a lifetime. Now, I'm not even sure if the men I rejected over and over are coming to get me, or if I'm doomed.

I guess I have a try to escape, or keep hoping that I wasn't too much of a pain in the butt to be rescued. Here's hoping my incontinent badgers are better fighters than they are romantics!

Blood of the Ruthless is a steamy fantasy reverse harem with a sassy heroine, lots of humor, and four sexy princes that only our heroine can resist.

It’s really annoying that she can’t just tell the guys about the damn potion. Though… I can’t remember Sulien actually taking it that night, so…

I was hoping I would enjoy this more than the first, but I didn't find the characters any better. The FMC is still rude and annoying for me. She's quick to anger and even kidnapped she's just sassing back and being rude.
All the characters are quick to anger and lash out, the lack of communication is still going strong and the romance is still minimal. There are parts where they show vulnerability but still not that much. It all just feels very surface level emotions, and other than lust and anger you don't get a lot else.
There's a lot of childhood trauma for each of the MCs but you don't feel any of it, there's no depth for me. There was only a scene with Forrest and that was it.
I do like the overall world created though with the different houses, I thought that was interesting take.

Blood of the Ruthless is the second book in the Court of Faes series. This cannot be read as a standalone!

Omg!! After that cliffhanger from the last book, Thinking that she is a fae, Cassia finds herself kidnapped by the humans. The guys must put aside their differences and find a way to get her back...even though things are going to be more intense. There's high tensions but also growth between Cassia and her Princes. I am totally loving this series!! Definitely excited for more!!

This book picks up right where book 1 left off. We find out what really happend to Cassia.
What a steamy start we get too!!
There was action, adventure, spice and filled with lots of feelings.

The majority of the book the Princes are looking for Cassia.
However, we learn more about them in the process. I think we also get to see the guys reconnecting a bit.
We witness how the Princes and Cassia are coming to terms with all the emtions inside them.
I really enjoyed Cassia's character.
She's definitely a fighter and her sense of humor is great. I appreciate that she doesn't just give into them all right away. I understand her reluctance, but I'm hoping she has a change of heart in the next book.

To recap, I think Lacey really stepped it up in book 2. She gave us more action and spicy times. We get some answers and really start to see them all caring for each. This book held my interest throughout and I loved it!

This was an excellent addition to the series!! I'm hoping we get book 3 soon. While, I kinda expected the cliffhanger, it still made me sad. I can't wait to see what happens next!!

There are so many problems with this book. First, the FMC seems emotionally stunted, unaware of her self and others, ignorantly reactive, selfish, (the list goes on). She makes up for her profound lack of self-confidence by fronting brash bravado. Unfortunately she is unaware of how others feel and need. She really only thinks about herself.

The FMC, who is the fated mate of the 4 princes goes missing and no one but the princes seems to notice or care. In fact when the princes go off to find/rescue her no one really cares. The 4 princes who supposedly are basically in charge go off in their own and no one notices nor cares. It doesn’t make sense to me.

The reason the h was kidnapped doesn’t make any sense. How do the kidnappers think that would work and for the years and years of their lives.

The way the princes come to save the FMC is ridiculous. The person is like do this or be my slaves forever. Hard NOPE! Definitely not continuing with the series.

Blood of the Ruthless is the second book in the Court of the Fae Princes series. Book two picks up where book one left off. Cassia has gone missing. Well, to be more accurate, she’s been kidnapped. Cue all eyes looking toward a particular fae who has a known dislike for Cassia. Sorry to disappoint, but it’s not them. Cassia basically sets herself up for this one unfortunately. Now, no one knows where she is, or even what has truly happened to her. Speculation rises that she probably left of her own accord. I mean, she’s vehemently voiced she wants nothing to do with the princes, but the truth? Well, it’s more complicated than that.
This book continues the shifting POV between the characters. Of course, they have no idea where Cassia is, but they are desperate to get her back. She wants to be found and rescued, but is still adamant about not marrying them. Well, things are going to get complicated behind her “stubborn” nature. Most will say “stubborn” but she’s coming off as more selfish than anything. She wants everyone to consider her, but she considers no one outside of those she chooses to.
Still wondering about that pesky spell/potion? You're going to be waiting for answers, still. Maybe in the next book we'll get the record set straight...but will it really matter by then? Hmmmm.
The ending of this book is going to pull at your heart, so be prepared. A price must be paid for her “stubbornness.”

brilliant read.
The Princes have lost their mate. Tensions are running high, did she leave of her own accord with the pressures of becoming queen too much or did the Many enemies of the crown take her. The Princes have to put aside their issues and work as a team to find her. But the Price tag attached may be too steep.
Cassia has much change in her life recently and this could be the thing that tips her over the edge. Cassia has to step up and not back down. She has choices to make and the Princes arnt really making her choice easy.
Brilliant read.

Cassia's been kidnapped and she doesn't even know by whom, the princes aren't sure if she's been taken or has left of her own free will. Not only that but both the princes and Cassia are having dreams featuring each other, where the Princes are different and Cassia is more willing to give herself to them, but they're only dreams, right?

There are strange things happening with Cassia as her fae heritage starts to show itself even though she's not sure what's going on. It's an interesting journey now that Cassia and the Princes are in two groups, with Cassia trying to escape her captors and the Princes trying to find her after making an intriguing deal, that they probably shouldn't have.

It's a great shorter read, with a mixture of action, suspense, and steam. It's a brilliant addition to the series and I can't wait to see what happens next, especially after that ending.

I absolutely adore Lacey's books and this 2nd book of the court of fae princes hasn't disappointed.

Why oh why are the princes so stupid I mean yes they think most women are only after fame and money but not Cassia.

I do love the fact that these guys do have vulnerable moments and I do love the dynamic between everyone

I didn't love the cliffhanger though so now gonna wait for book 3 patiently

different twist

I like the series so far and will definitely be interested in book three. I do feel like the idea of a reverse harem that isn’t instalove is not done enough. The MC is stubborn and complicating things but also seems like there is so much more to the story.

Read at some point in the last 2 weeks and did not like it enough to download the next one. However, it came out on December 15 so maybe it wasn't out yet? I may chance it, but this series certainly hasn't left a significant mark.

Slow burn, with slow character build that leaves you wanting more for what is going to happen next. So much heartbreak you can feel the emotions happening on the pages.

Cassia has been kidnapped after she ran from her four Fae princes. She also keeps having weird dreams of her princes even in the midst of being held captive. Can Cassia find it in her heart to love these princes.

“Noooooooo!!!!!!!” she howls into the night like a distraught banshee. That’s not where this ends! There must be more pages, more words. Something. I want to gather her four princes close and cuddle the stuffing out of them. Promising they’ll never hurt again. Cassia…? I think Cassia needs to learn that even though she’s not the center of the universe, she’s the heart of their world. However, I think the next book may be about to take care of teaching her that lesson, and I am desperate to see what happens.

I was happy to be back with Cassia and her guys, but it was painful because of all the things she has to endure in this latest installment. I quite enjoyed the dreams that she and her men exchanged. But I go get a little annoyed when they could just talk to each other and work things out; it’s one of the tropes that drive me a little crazy. LOL! Anyway, now all five have got themselves into a pickle, and I’m not sure how they’re going to solve this. We’ll find out in the next one, I hope! Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I didn't like this one as much as I liked book one. FMC Cassia started getting on my nerves because she acted tstl several times when she was kidnapped. She was kind of a bitch to her four mates and only cares about herself. I wish the next book was already out because I need to find out how everything turns out.

The Court of the Fae Princes series continues with its second book, Blood of the Ruthless. Lacey amped up the stakes with new places, new people, new information, and a whole new set of problems for Cassia and her princes. This book was so incredibly good.

I forgot how nutty Cass is, how her brain works brings me entertainment to no end. Even with all the crap that she went through in this book, she still had the snark, quick wit, and of course crazy talk. I like Cass, she's feisty and loves fiercely but she frustrated me a little. She made a deal with Sulien and hasn't even given that a thought. Plus, she started connecting with the guys but she's fighting it. I understand there are multiple reasons why she would feel this way but she needs to put her big girl pants on and communicate with the guys but she isn't the only one who needs to communicate, the guys do as well, especially Sulien.

We got more chapters from the guys this time around and I loved it. After getting to know the guys more, I like them a whole lot more than I did before. Each has been through some trials and tribulations, and it seems as if each one of them are wearing a mask. They are a lot lonelier than they let on. They just want to love and be loved, to have a loving family. It kinda makes me tear up. Apparently, Cass and I both miss reading some things with the guys I just hope things get straightened out soon.

After reading the first book I was pretty sure I had a handle on the story, that I knew where the plot of the second book, this book, was going. I couldn't have been more wrong. The plot has taken a turn, I'm not sure where we are or how we even got here but I'm loving it. Seriously, it was so unexpected. Sure I had my theory about Cass (and I still think I'm right, there are even more clues) but now I'm learning there are houses, House of Memories, House of Cosmos, House of Death, and more. Cass is kidnapped, this book is giving off a creepy vibe, and the princes are a mess. After learning more about their past and their families, they really have every right to be a mess. Like I said, completely unexpected.

Lacey did a great job with Blood of the Ruthless. I loved the new magic she introduced, it was interesting and added so much to the story. It was also a great point of frustration too, when the readers know something that the characters are missing. Then to top that off, at the end Lacy decided she wanted to push us off of a cliff. I need the next book ASAP.

What in the name of all that’s holy???

Wow, I was not expecting the utter train wreck that this story is. Nothing but miscommunications, misunderstandings, and an utter lack of clarity about anything because NO ONE is talking to each other. The guys talked to one another and then did the exact opposite of what they said they would do, because of course they did.

She isn’t talking to her guys, she isn’t calling Sulien on his sh*t when it comes to their “deal”, she isn’t doing anything other than whine about how no one is thinking about her. Not at all considering that she isn’t thinking about them and what they’ve been through. She’s too self centered to even ask any questions about how they found her. I understand that her family is most important to her because she’s lived a hard life. I also understand her skepticism about the mate bonds that the guys feel when she thinks it the result of a spell gone wrong. Sulien just stands there mute as can be and lets her founder about like a fish out of water.

To me it’s been obvious since the night she matched with all four princes that Sulien very likely didn’t have time to take the potion before the mate magic was released. The first book only says he opened the vial, not that he drank it. I mean, that wouldn’t have been suspicious in the middle of a gigantic crowd right? So this entire thing could have been written in a way that made more sense if Sulien just said that and then she could have a crisis of identity and wondering if they felt the feels they did because the magic told them they had to or blah blah blah. That wouldn’t have been infinitely better than what we got I. This book.

I do actually what to know what happens since consequences are being faced as a result of all their stupidity, but I don’t have a lot of hope that this series will be salvaged, just mitigated. Guess I’ll find out. Fingers crossed that heads are removed from azzes and that they learn to communicate make to female instead of just males with each other. 🙄🙄🙄

Picking up where Book 1 left off we find Cassia being kidnapped. Book 1 was non-stop laughter but book 2 really ramped up the drama.

This book gives a little insight on each Prince and their inner demons. In book 1 the Princes were happy to find a mate and wanted to mate her thoroughly without any consideration into how that made her feel; but now that Cassia is missing each Prince began to contemplate their actions towards her and what they can do to make things right.

During her abduction Cassia is having a hard time deciphering her feelings and emotions. Nightly realistic dreams featuring one of more of her princes leaves her desperately wanting to be back with them but a smart part of her still wants to keep them at arms length.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Princes Sulien, Cobar, Frost and Forrest are beyond desperate to get their mate back. Making a deal with Death leads to the rescue of Cassia but at what cost?

It's understandable that Cassia has reservations about marrying the 4 Fae Princes especially how terribly she has been treated all her life at the hands of Fae but you can't help but feel frustration at her indecisiveness. These men came in like a wrecking ball to save her and she still questions their motives. It doesn't help that Prince Sulien is keeping secrets the deal he and Cassia made that started this hot mess.

Ending in a heartbreaking Cliffhanger, Cassia is a witness to how her inability to see the Princes as her mates and accept them has broken them completely. I can't wait to read book 3 so that Cassia can experience the same pain and hopelessness the princes faced when they lost her and can't wait to see her come into her true powers to save them.

Cassia was just an ordinary girl, working in the Summer Castle for the Fae, to support her family. Then one day Cassia saw something she should not have seen, she went about her business cleaning rooms, when she saw a plate of meats, knowing most of it would be throwing away and she knew she should not steal. However, there was no food at home. She took some of the meat and put it in the pocket of her apron. Then she was called by her supervisor and the Fae she had noticed doing something they should not be doing, had used their magic to put in her apron an expensive piece of jewelry. As Cassia expressed her innocents over stealing the jewelry. Her Supervisor found the meat. Cassia of course was fired. Later Prince Sulien of the Summer Court came to her and offered her a way to take care of her father and grandmother, by becoming his wife. He had a potion he could drink that would make it look like she was his fated mate at the ball. Amazingly and shockingly all four of the princes, showed as she was their fated mate. Cassia just assumed Prince Sullen had drank to much of the potion. Then Cassia found she was kidnapped and taken by this people who had been hurt by the Fae. They figured if they kept Cassia the princes could never have a legitimate heir and thus the Faes would die out. The princes came for her rescue but to find her they had to make a deal that they must ask Cassia to marry them and they could not tell her of the deal they had made with the Keeper of Death, if she said no they had to go back to the house of death and be slaves of the Keeper of Death forever! What do you think happens? You must read to see the dreams Cassia and the men have while apart. Do you think she will say yes to their marriage proposals?

Hmmm

I don't know. I liked book one, but I'm just losing interest in Cassia. She started out seeming like a strong person, capable of intelligent thought. But, I just don't understand where all the guilt is coming from when it comes to the potion that she didn't have anything to do with it. Prince Sulien did it. Somehow, she's under the impression that this is all her fault and she's solely responsible for the whole mate thing? I don't get it. I also don't get why she's so mean to all of them. They try to be nice to her and she's so rude to them! I'm not saying she should be forced to marry them if she doesn't want to. But does she have to be so mean all the time? Does she not know how to use her words to say what she wants? Also, she was willing to marry the prince to save her family. Why all the fighting against it now? She wasn't looking forward to Sulien's offer to not warm her bed. Now she's pissed because he will? The other guys were a surprise, but I just don't get why she won't give any of them a chance by getting to know them. At the end, she decides that the fae are all horrible and have treated her horribly. Therefore, she can't go through with it. I would say that is ok if I had seen her be horribly abused. Her life wasn't easy, but she wasn't beaten or anything. So, I just didn't get the sudden animosity. Why did she say yes to Sulien's proposal if she hated the fae so much? So, right now I'm going hmmm. I don't like Cassia very much because she seems bipolar. I hope the next book is better, because I had high hopes for this series and right now I'm disappointed.

I voluntarily reviewed "BLOOD OF THE RUTHLESS" OMG!!! This is a wild crazy emotional rollercoaster ride of indecision, intrigue, suspense, danger, angst, kidnapping, steam, crazy dreams, action, secrets, lies, twists that make this a page turner to the end.
Cassia is overwhelmed by her Four Fae Prince Mates after making the deal with Prince Sulien never did she expect to have four mates all wanting her, she decides to run putting herself in grave danger being kidnapped by people who hated the Fae.
Prince Sulien, Zane, Forrest & Cobar all worry when Cassia doesn't show up for Fae testing, worried if she ran, gone for days they decide to go see the House of Death fur help finding her, they meet with Keeper of Death who agrees to help with a high price they all agree to pay.
Cassia is having a rough time with her captors she'd dead tired their slobs, drunks, treat her horrible she has a ball & chain on her ankle after escaping once & being caught once again, she's been having dreams of each of her Prince's that confuse her because they seem real but she sees a different side to each of them.
I definitely recommend to get this on the edge of your seat story will the Prince's find Cassia in time, will she agreed go marry them all, will they have to Honor the price they have to pay to Keeper of Death, so much happens its a must read you can't miss.
I'm so looking forward to "FURY OF THE KINGS" the next book especially after that shocking cliffhanger ASAP, need to know what happens next.

So with this second book we see Cassia has been kidnapped by people that hate the Fae and think she is one of them since she is their mate. The princes are upset and willing to go to any lengths necessary to find her and bring her home. To do that they have to make a bargain that has some pretty bad consequences.
The end though was just heartbreaking. Like maybe it’s just a mood I’m in but I was so upset with Cassia and how she handled her decision and the princes. Like she doesn’t of course know what the princes have agreed to and put on the line so they could find her but honestly if she would just follow her feelings and stop second guessing everything this probably would have went smoother. Like this book had me so emotional with the guys seeing them so worried about her and seeing a little more of their past and thoughts just has me loving them all so much more. I can’t wait till the next book so I can see how things turn out for everyone. I’m so worried for the princes and what will become of them with the deal they made. I’m really looking forward to the HEA. This is turkey a great series to have just sucked me in and has me emotional invested in these characters so quickly. I absolutely recommend giving them a read.

Blood of the Ruthless is the second book in the Court of Fae Princes series. I loved it.. It picks pretty close to where Book 1 left off with Cassia missing and all 4 princes pretty much feel the loss of her immediately. All I can think is to be fated to 4 princes is magical and Cassia should be happy because her family will be taken care of. But what Cassia thinks is the total opposite and the worst ever. She actually hates the Fae because of how the Summer Prince parents treated her family when her Grandmother went blind... Her Grandmother was Prince Sulien's Tutor and both Sulien and Cassia were taught there lessons together as kids.
As Cassia struggles with the situation that she is in she wonders if she will ever be found. Her world has been turned literally upside down and it's like a very bad nightmare for her. Her only solace are her dreams and they are some very heated dreams too.
**I do have a favorite part.. it is said by Prince Zane to Cobar:
"What the heck? Were there too many steps to enter my room inside the castle?" I ask, pushing him back from me. The last thing we need is our morning wood... dueling? Connecting? I don't exactly, and I don't want to know.**
If you want to find out what happened you would need to read the book and I highly recommend by starting with book 1..
So if you love Angst, Slow Burn Romance and Empowering Female Characters then you will love Blood of the Ruthless.

Blood Of The Ruthless: Court Of The Fae Princes Book Two by Lacey Carter Andersen is an exciting fantasy reverse harem.  When a spell to mate Cassia and one of the fae prices goes wrong and ends up mating all 4 princes to her she's left reeling.  However others have plans for her that don’t include marrying the princes.  As the men take drastic measures to find her will they be able to convince her to marry them?

This story has a bit more heat with some incredible smexy dreams. There is some mystery as no one seems to know what happened to Cassia.  Meanwhile Cassia has had some strange occurrences she can't explain.  It's quite exciting as we follow Cassia on her escape attempt and the men as they risk everything to save her. There is a lot going on in this story making it hard to put down.

I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.  I absolutely loved the characters and enjoyed seeing their growth throughout this book.  The would-building is very interesting with a variety of fae and their powers.  There is still some holding back in the romance department  but the dream romance is quite hot and steamy.  If you enjoy fantasy romance and reverse harems with a kidnapped fmc and the men willing to risk everything for her you will love Blood Of The Ruthless.

*4.5 star review

“Blood of the Ruthless” is written by the author of the ruthless. Do I need to say more? This second book in the “Court of the Fae Princes” series is finally showing us a different side of the princes. It’s clear they still have no clue how to act around a real woman that isn’t after them for money or fame, but once they show their vulnerable side I can’t help but develop a fondness for them. And then… then… then something happened that broke my heart, made me mad and made me wish to be able to put this author in the naughty corner.

This second book is filled with a fascinating combination of cuteness, action, steam, questions, silliness and heartbreak. Even though it’s a short read, the author still pulled me on an emotional rollercoaster I might not have been entirely ready for. My emotions regarding our fmc are going everywhere at the moment: there are times I like and admire her, but there are also times I want to throttle her. I’m really hoping book three will resolve my issues regarding the woman once and for all.

So in summary: did I like this book? Yes. Bmy feelings need a bit of time to truly settle right now.

The eagerly awaited second installment of LCA's latest fantasy series has finally arrived! This book seamlessly continues the thrilling narrative from where it left off with a heart-stopping cliffhanger in the first installment. Cassia finds herself in a perilous situation, having been abducted, and her four fae princes are embarking on a desperate rescue mission to bring her back safely. Their determination to find her is palpable, and the tension is electrifying.

In this gripping sequel, the stakes are higher than ever as the action intensifies, the suspense deepens, and the romantic elements sizzle. While this book delivers on many fronts, there were moments of frustration stemming from the characters' miscommunications, particularly during the dream sequences.

Just when you think you've caught your breath, the story leaves you hanging once more with another tantalizing cliffhanger. Needless to say, I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the third book, craving answers and resolutions to the enthralling mysteries this series has introduced. Bring on book three, pronto!

Tropes: Fantasy romance, reverse harem, fae, magic, fated mates, fake dating, slow burn
