I don't bake. I don't have much of a sweet tooth at all, really, and somewhere along the line I got the idea stuck in my head that baking means the same old boring cakes and pies and cookies and breads and all sorts of things that I don't like enough to put myself through all the effort. But this book actually makes me WANT to bake, because it's shown me that baking isn't only about desserts--it's also about Garlic & Pine Nut Tarts and Rosemary Cookies and Baked Sweet Ravioli and Pesto-Baked Partridge...things that sound different and interesting and best of all, not sickeningly sweet. The book itself is small in size, so it's easy to move around with it in the kitchen, the pages lie flat, so you can set it down on the counter and not have to weigh it down to keep your place, the photography and instructions are excellent, and in addition to all that, it's dirt cheap (it's a Barnes & Noble bargain book). So yeah. I highly recommend it.
Note to self: I must own this book. :) Loved the baking section at the start. Filled with many recipes that appear quite simple to make, but tasty, fancy desserts. I'm very excited to try a few.
