Fallen Angels MC #1

Long Way Down

Rate this book
They’ll fight each other along the way, but she is the only chance he has to save both his name and his club.
Mason Butler is good with numbers. Tasked as treasurer for the Fallen Angels MC, he’s always been able to make the numbers add up, but when he discovers that a large chunk of money has gone missing, he decides to call in help to figure out where it could have gone. When Munch, one of Mase’s MC brothers, suggests his cousin Caroline for the job Mase looks into the girl, and as soon as he lays eyes on the gorgeous blond, he decides to enlist her for the job.

Caroline Lewis is a computer whiz and a math genius, but she’s not great with people, especially incredibly sexy bikers who show up at her house unannounced. After making a complete fool of herself, Caroline grudgingly agrees to take the job and begins looking for the missing money. Working together is difficult, mostly due to Caroline’s lack of a verbal filter and her open disdain of the work that Mase and Munch do for the club. But underneath the hostility that Mase finds amusing, there is a huge amount of sexual tension that threatens to explode, consuming them both

As they fight the urges that keep bringing them closer, Caroline begins to find evidence that someone has been stealing from the club for a while and the evidence suggests Mase is the culprit. Mase denies involvement, and she believes him, but as they get closer to the truth, they begin to rip open a web of deceit and corruption that threatens both their lives, and the relationship that they have started to build.

To find the thieves and save the club, they’ll have to work together, but when Mace is forced to make a choice, the consequences will put everything to the test.

Okay, I'm sorry to say that this was one HUGE disappointment!
I'm thinking.. one hot biker.. one financial analyst/accounting.. yes and no..

Mason once soldier now turned biker, needs help finding some faults in his books (he runs a garage or something for his MC)

Caroline is the financial person that wants to help him, offers him her address the first 5 minutes of meeting him.. gets drunk on two glasses of wine (even though she drinks it all the time)... so when he comes over, she is not worried about his books, but offers him sex, he declines... but fucks her the next day... OKAY?!?

So first Mason had dark auburn hair when he walked into her office; then while they had sex it was bright red; now while he is going down on her it's strawberry blonde!
Is the other forgetting her own character's hair color?

Then he is the one that is this playboy, is scared of relationships, had a mini heart-attack when she talked about the future; but told her he loved her on day 3?

Then what I HATED:
She goes off and starts sleeping with a married couple and gets the ok from him; while he fucks a bunch of random bitches and a KNOWN CLUB WHORE! And she gets turned on by him mentioning her and the club whore together? Ohhh, and he also told the club whore he loves her too. So ladies, he loves everyone! Not much of a player!!

Cliffhanger. If that's all an author has in order to continue a series/sale books, she isn't worth my time.

F-ing cliffhanger

F-ing cliffhanger

I wouldn't have started this book if I knew it was going to be unfinished and part of a series. Maybe I missed the warning. Caro is works at a credit union, when Mason comes in to get someone to look at the garage's books. From there Caro is drawn into a dangerous world. We are given hints at something horrible that happened to Caro when she was young, but i'm guessing that's going to be in following stories. I just don't see why authors feel the need to do this. Just right one long story.
The book was going fine until Mason starts calling her names, with her agreement, during sex, which threw me off. This book was supposed to be erotic, but it wasn't for me. Later, Caro calls it sweet, but I didn't think so. And I see no reason why she should be falling in love with Mason already. Hopefully the next book will be free on Kindle Unlimited, like this, otherwise I'll pass.

Honestly I don't write reviews like this and I'm not going to judge those who like books written like this one. But I made it to 10% before I couldn't do it anymore. What big, bad MC member talks so sweetly to a girl he wants to F&*k as if they've been dating for five years within the first few pages??? NONE. So then I decided to read some reviews and see how this became a number one book on Amazon and there were so many reviews that mention that the Mason asks Caroline if he can sleep with an ex for information... AND SHE SAYS YES. Ok technically with permission that is not cheating, however, I cannot stand a book where the so called soul mates are well... not soul mates. I don't want to see that he can get it up for just anyone especially for information... really you in a MC there are other ways to gather information. Both of them have sex with other people...with permission... So no not finishing it, not for me and definitely not an MC book in my opinion.

And I apologize for the tone of this review it is coming out harsh however this is a hard stop/trigger for me and had it been in the blurb I never would've picked it up and hence this never would've been written. In fact it specifically states NO CHEATING... well this still is to me. Being faithful to each other is no cheating whether you have permission or not.

Yet another 'to be continued...'

Cliffhanger.....
I did wonder because it says 'Fallen Angels MC #1' but in fairness I'd take #1 to mean first in series and not a cliffhanger, I really think authors should make it clear because it's incredibly disappointing to find the book your reading just ends.
Anyway back to the book itself, I have mixed feelings about this, I liked the basic idea Mason Butler is the new treasurer for the Fallen Angels MC and he just knows something is off, he doesn't know where to turn and who to trust until Munch, an MC brother suggests his cousin so figuring he's nothing to lose Mason visits Caroline and asks for her help and since Mason is hot and Caroline's more than a little attracted to him she agrees but neither one of them has any idea exactly what they're going to uncover. Now the characters were ok and the story was interesting, parts of the sex, particularly the name calling wasn't my thing but to each their own. This book is ok I was disappointed it was a cliffhanger I much prefer to read one book than several novellas or short serial books.
I've checked, I know better late than never and this series consists of 3 books so I have to decide if I'm going to continue and honestly I'm just not sure.

When Masons president Declan finds out about Caroline and Mason he tries to get on Declan's good side to keep Caroline getting caught up in this mess. After a few insults that Caro hated being called, Mason and Declan left and Caro packed and grabbed her dog and ran and now Mason is looking for her to keep her safe but she just disappeared and he has to find her before Declan does. This book was well written with no errors, but I didn't like the fact that this book ended with a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Strange encounters, masturbation, explicit sex under the illusion this is gonna be some bad ass Biker novel. Hate to burst your bubble, but nahhhh there wasn't any real brotherhood or MC storyline. More like a one man show till you get to the end, then its left on a cliffy! But hey you finally meet the prez....lame!

Newly appointed treasurer for the Fallen Angels MC, Mason Butler knows in his gut that something is not on the up and up with the books. Knowing he can trust few, he seeks out accountant Caroline Lewis who was recommended from a trusted source.

Caroline is instantly attracted to the hardened biker, she makes a pass which he willingly accepts. Trying to get to the bottom of the missing money, Mason tells her he will handle it on his own to keep her out of danger. However it is as if he left a footprint to her door and now Mason can't protect her.

So it is a 3.5 for me, this was not a story I was expecting. There really is not much banter and I thought Caroline was normal not as loosely tongued as expecting. Had some really good elements to the story but was a bit too much wham, bam, thank you mam for me. Plus it is a cliffhanger, I tend to prefer one and done.

I'm having a difficult time giving this 3 stars. Ultimately, it had more good than bad but just barely. As with so many books I've read lately, the editing was horrible. I don't mind reading series, I actually prefer them. But they really only work when a book has some sort of closure. I get that for a series there should be an overall story arc. Each individual book should have a beginning, a middle, and an end though. This has the beginning...and a little bit of the middle. You're left hanging. With no explanation as to why. That makes me want to hesitate to read the next story. The first line of the blurb needs to be removed. They fought each other every step? Whoever wrote it obviously didn't read the book. The only thing they fought was where to take their clothes off!

I had a hard time focusing on reading this book! It was supposed to be about her helping mason and find out whose setting him up but it really just seemed like it was based on them having sex and then throwing in a little extra to keep the book going. It also felt like it was rushed once they asked jack for help. This was just ok for me.

Seriously bummed

I had read the blog on this book awhile back and was really interested in reading it,only a few chapters in and I was disappointed.
Mason, was really not the tough guy he was portrayed to be. I mean what kind of guy goes to a house of a woman, whose looking over suspicious book keeping and thinks that's safe & that he's not being followed?
All the things Mason should have done up front, once he got Caroline involved were, major fails. So for these reasons and several more I am only giving this 3 stars.

I really don't know what to say about this book. This book was a first for me in so many ways. I have read hundreds of romance but not one quite like this. Mason and are in love and committed to each other but are in an open relationship. Though this may seem strange to me, it is the reality of others so I can't knock it. A dark romance that has all its hotness and scary bits. A good read that I'll recommend.

Story was ok but needs to be flushed out more, seemed more like an outline. Mason and caroline meet at the bank she works st and he asks her to review his garages accounting books. She uncovers fraud and finds who is responsible.

If this had been a paperback it would have been flung at the wall.
I HATE cliffhangers...so don't read them....nowhere did it say that this story was "to be continued"...until the end...

So disappointed...with the non-ending and the poor proof reading.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Just couldn't get into it.

The relationship between Caroline and Mason was odd to say they least. If you don't want to read possibly let spoilers about this book, then stop reading here because I am going to reveal the things I didn't like.
First off, I have read romance novels for 20 years and this is the first book I ever read where the couple give permission to each other to sleep with other people. I think that is the main reason I couldn't really get behind this book.
The second thing I didn't like about the book is that the author made the hero a sniveling baby. I understand that he had PTSD, but everything that he cried about had nothing to do with it or any triggering reminders of the war.
The grammar of this book was poor. Sentences didn't make sense and there was also punctuation mistakes too. The last few chapters of the book didn't really need to be there.
So I could go on and nit pick everything I didn't like about the book, but I am not going to do that. I hate to say this, which I don't often, in my opinion, I don't recommend reading this book.

Caroline Lewis can't wait to leave work. She is tired and wants to go home when the bell announcing a new customer rings. The man in front of her is attractive and she suddenly is not that tired anymore.
Mason Butler needs a someone to help him with his job as the treasurer for the Fall Angels MC. He believes that the numbers don't add up and Caro may be the one to help him find that out.
By Caroline helping him, she gets tangled up with him and with the Club. Suddenly, she is not safe anymore and she is not sure who to trust.

Caro lives a boring life and Mase brings excitement to her life. Maybe a little bit too much. The story has potential. There was one scene about her co-worker that I wished wasn't there .
I hated the MC's President Declan. I hope he gets hurt in the next book.

Overall it was ok and I got it as a freebie from amazon.

A 3.5 star rating for part one of what I had hoped was only a two part book...but I see there are three. I have become tired of short books that end in a cliffhanger and then you have to get the next one to find out what happens next, when there wasn't too much substance in the previous book to start with.
An accountant, her cousin's MC and a referral, a hot and confident DOM biker and a whole lot of corruption form the basis for this short story. Caroline (with the help of a co-worker) uncovers some illegal transactions in the books of a biker business and in trying to help Mason, her first lover in a long time who really "did it" for her...she ends up threatened and on the run at the end of this book. I am curious to read the next book and I did get it for 99 cents, just not going to pay 2.99 for the third book. It was ok and mildly entertaining with some rough sex.

It did leave off in a nice cliffhanger, it ends right before the good stuff happens not in the middle of something. I dont like I would like this at first but as it went I was glued to this story. This is about Caroline that is an accountant that just meeting Mason and wanting to help him even on her time off from work, but she never believed she just gave a stranger her address after a few minutes talking to him. But she did and she did uncover a lot of scheming his clubs president was involved in and Caroline under covered a lot more the money fraud. When Masons president Declan finds out about Caroline and Mason tries to get on Declan's good side to keep Caroline getting caught up in this mess. After a a few insults that Caro hated being called, Mason and Declan left and Caro packed and grabbed her dog and ran and now Mason is looking for her to keep her safe but she just disappeared and he has to find her before Declan does.

4 Stars-Great (had my attention and I enjoyed it)

Not what I was expecting. For my taste, I would have given it a 3-3.5 stars but I generalized the rating to not be biased. Off the bat I will tell you that the story line is good. Even though everything literally happens too fast for my taste, kind of making it unbelievable (in terms of the love story) but I get where it would maybe make sense.
I will tell you that I was not forewarned of the type of sexual action, and without giving away anything of the book, I will say that the sex scenes are not vanilla at all, and I'm not just talking about BDSM. There's a lot more. It was a mixture of literally everything. So I will say that I did kind of skimmed some of the sex sciences only cause it's not my cup of tea. But it was fun to read some nonetheless.
I wish the story would have been a little more stretched out to really get a feel for the characters but for a short read it wasn't bad.
