My daughter received this book when we went to a restaurant to eat. Usually restaurants give the kiddos coloring sheets but this one gave out books, which her and myself being a book lover thoroughly enjoyed that. It's a quick little read but an enjoyable one. My daughter already loves Daniel Tiger so this was an excellent book for her. In the book it explains to the children to use their imagination while waiting for the food to be cooked and served. We parents know at times it can be impatient for a child to wait for their food. But the books gives the children helpful and fun ways to do things while waiting for your food. My daughter, who is three, loved this book and I, myself, loved it for the simple fact it teaches them methods to use while waiting patiently for their food. I would definitely recommend this book.

Waiting is so boring for any age and this book kind of helps you think or imagine anything else to pass the time. The suggestion to play a game at the table is great, though this game kind of lacks much imagination and fun. The story has some fun things to learn about going out for dinner, but I wish it had more details and more words for the different foods so any child reading could also select their favorite foods.

Daniel Tiger goes out for dinner and learns to wait. I like that the story teaches life skills. My three-year-old just likes that it's Daniel Tiger, and he likes pretending to choose from the menu when Daniel does.

I think my little is too young for this one yet. She loves watching Daniel Tiger, but wasn't as interested in reading about him.

I liked all the things you learned like that sometimes you can play, sing or imagine anything.

It's absolutely unbelievable how this could have been printed. "I want", "we tell our waiter"???? Maybe I would like PLEASE.

A favorite-loves picking out a meal from the menu and interacting with the book. We were even able to base a few meals off this book which intrigued her to eat better at dinner time.

Almost like a social story.

"Social Stories were devised as a tool to help individuals on the autism spectrum better understand the nuances of interpersonal communication so that they could interact in an effective and appropriate manner."

Lily likes to talk about all of the different food items on the menu in this book. I like it that the kids learn to play games and entertain themselves while they wait for the food to come.

Hoping my daughter can have a similar experience if we ever dine indoors at a restaurant again and we can resist the urge to give her electronic babysitters.

Why, back in my day (the 80s and 90s), the restaurants gave us crayons and we got to color on paper placemats.
