BOOK ONE in an all new TRILOGY

Rock star Logan King has come home to Winchester Falls for the annual Summer Festival. Only this time he's hauling a helluva lot more baggage than a few suitcases and vintage guitars. His closet contains more than the usual skeletons…and if he doesn't keep the door firmly locked, someone might get harmed. The specter of what haunts him forces him to turn away from anything more than one-night-stands.

Until Izzy and her topaz eyes finally give him a reason to try again.

Since moving to town Isabella Grace has found friends and a place to belong for the first time in her life. Running the Summer Festival is the perfect way to show how important her new community is. She just never planned on a whirlwind fling with a man too used to saying goodbye. Or to fall for a guy who has as many secrets as he does hit songs.

Logan is used to protecting himself, but protecting Izzy is all new territory. With everything that matters to him at risk, he refuses to let her get hurt—even if that means he has to walk away. For her own good.

Dear Authors,

Shoving body descriptions down my throat ad friggin’ nauseam won’t earn you any extra stars from me.

Thanks for the trouble!

Best,

Baba

Another nuisance of a book. *yaaaaaaaawn* It’s an absolute mystery to me why so many authors don’t know that characterization goes beyond repetitive and detailed body descriptions. A perfect and gorgeous rack? Freckles? A fine ass? Splendid, illegal legs? Ok. I got it. Gimme something else now because repetitiveness peeves me to no end. Thank you.

Isabella gave a polite huff of a laugh, then linked her fingers behind her back which emphasized the little half-moons of sweat under her spectacular breasts. Before he could drag his gaze somewhere that wouldn’t get his face slapped, her nipples tightened. Little points that begged for attention.
Son of a bitch

Miss Director’s hands came back to her sides and he said a quick prayer of thanks. Distracting body aside, at least he didn’t have the perfect outline of the curve of her breasts driving him to the bottle of Dalmore he had waiting at home.

And those eyes were going to put him into the grave. Did they glow like that when she came?

Sweet Jesus, the woman had an ass to go with everything else. Where the hell was the justice?

And with the almost ninety degree day, he was one big sweaty freckle. That would look just great on the entertainment websites.

 photo oie_E3B8CTWrjSLU_zpsyvc2tvyf.gif

She swung her gaze to him and tried to sear his brain with her laser beam eyes.

Spoiled rock star she could handle, but the flash of longing that had swirled into his clear, green eyes had slipped through her anger shattering it like spun sugar.

Also, being this close to him, she noticed that the freckles dusted his face just as thoroughly as the rest of him.
(…)
She’d never seen freckles like these before. For God’s sake there were even freckles on his lips.

Chameleon fast, the pleasure drained from his features leaving a steely resolve.

“Iz, we’re old enough to skip the games. If you were a woman in a bar or at a party, I’d have you under me so fast the condom would still be snapping around the base of my cock as I was sliding into you.”

For the first time the sticky threads of attraction lessened.

Stripped of the overwhelming passion in the previous song, instead it was gut wrenching and simple. When Logan came into the song with her, they matched longing and sadness into a harmony that even the untrained ear knew was special.

My untrained ear knows this is just nonsense.

…and heat trapped along his neck.

And still, the wrongness of it arrowed between his shoulder blades as he bent…

She found herself gravitating to Logan. Each note climbed inside her and squeezed.

Sheesh, my stomach squeezed in agony. Sometimes DNFing a book is a huge release.

All right, here is the thing. I already spent too much time reading this "masterpiece", that's the reason I will refrain from reviewing this book thoroughly. Also, I think that all the quotes speak louder than 1000 words anyhow. So instead of wasting any more time on this annoying piece of writing, I'd rather read something better. Yet as an afterthought I can sum Anything But Mine up in two simple words: just blah.

4 Broody Rockstar Stars

Whisky beats and a hard rain save me tonight.
If you only knew what it cost me to fight.
The taste of your memory reminds me.
That you're anything but mine.

There's a reason I have a giant girl crush on Taryn Elliot. It's like the woman has the ability to reach inside my brain for just that right amount of angst I like in my books, and then deliver it on a sinfully sexy rockstar platter. I'm not usually a big of trilogies since my impatient ass tends to lose interest in the next book by the time it comes out and my poor puny brain forgets the first book in that time too. I don't make a habit of reading them, save for a very few exceptions. And this author just happens to be one of them. Well, to be perfectly honest I'd probably read it anyway since I love everything she writes, but I'd also be waiting for all the books to be out before diving in. But since the releases of the books in this trilogy are not very spaced out, I decided to jump right in.
There was no playing with a man like Logan. There was burning and there was scarring. She had enough scars dammit...

Logan King is a famous rockstar. In the industry since his teens, he's built up quite the reputation. He's also built up a whole lot more baggage. His secrets are dark and kept close to the vest, and his demons are persistent and at times even debilitating..

The small town of Winchester Falls has been an escape for him since his car broke down there years ago. Now it's where he goes where he needs time away from the insistent flashes of the paparazzi lens and a little ease from the insanity of his lifestyle. Logan King is also running, running from a past and a very real demon that still continues to haunt him in the shape of a person that has the power to destroy his barely contained calm and control. A person that is the reason that he runs from any prospect of a relationship or anything more than a one night stand. In town just in time for the town's annual Summer Festival, Logan meets the one woman that temps him to maybe finally wants something...more
In the dark of night, a safe life with a stable guy wasn't nearly as alluring as this intense man with demons crawling just under the skin. He was holding something back and she'd wanted to dig those details out of him.

Isabella Grace is a woman with her own secrets. But while you can clearly see Logan is a man haunted, Izzy keeps her buried even deeper. She finally found a place where she feels like she belongs. She may be a new addition to the town of Winchester Falls, but she's already ingrained herself with running the local bookstore with her two best friends. Running the Summer Festival is another great way for her to do that. But the last thing she expected was for the one man that starred in her teenage fantasies to make a guest appearance for the show and throw her carefully constructed world for a loop.

Logan is used to protecting himself not only from the media, but from wanting anything more with women. He can't be that person for anyone, his past prevents it for him. But while he swears to stay away from the first woman to tempt him for wanting more in years, the chemistry between them proves to be too much for either one of them to deny...

There's no insta-lust to be found here, not really. While the book takes place over just a few days, the connection that Taryn builds between Logan and Izzy is an incredibly believable one. Their chemistry is so hot that it practically jumps right off the pages. It's absolutely sizzling

But Logan and Izzy are also both hiding something from each other and it soon becomes clear that Logan's secrets are about to unravel when the specter from his past comes back to haunt him and threatens Izzy's safety. And no matter how much he wants to be that man for her, he knows that the best thing he can offer her is to stay away...as far as he can.

I really enjoyed this story. It was this wonderful combination of emotional, sexy, and just the right touch of angsty and all of that shrouded in mystery. I seriously love the way that Taryn is able to weave all that together. To give you just enough to hook you and yet still leave you begging for more. Yes there is a cliffhanger, but where typically that would have sent me into the rage, it worked here. Both of these characters and their past is so complex that no way could I see it fitting into just one book...even a long one.

Izzy and Logan are both incredibly endearing and relatable characters. Where Logan's tortured rock star persona made me fall for him, Izzy's tough girl, take charge but still a little vulnerable personality worked for me just as much. We get a little bit of a taste for the demons that Logan has buried in this one, but Izzy continues to be a mystery. I can't wait to see all the secrets that she has buried and to find out how everything pulls together.

If you're in the mood for a sexy and angsty rock star romance, you really can't go wrong with this one. I can't wait for the next installment. Consider me hooked!

Logan King is the leader singer of "All the King's Men" for over two decades. With fames comes a price and every year, Logan escapes the craziness to come to Winchester Falls, his little heaven where he can learn how to breathe again.
Every year, the last week of August, he wouldn't miss a chance to participate to the Summer Festival.
This year, he needs it more than ever. His life is a mess and he doesn't know how to get out of hell.

description

Isabella Grace is new in town, well mostly, it's been a few months now that she open a bookstore with the help of her best friend Nic' and her husband Adam.
While her best friend had found love since her teens, Bella never found someone that make a heart beats enough to consider something serious. She has a past filled with parties and bad choices and she seems to want to forget it. Now she lives in a quiet small town and she just wants to enjoy it.
She also the responsible for the Summer Festival this year and is impatient to prove to herself and the Mayor that she will succeed.

When Logan and Bella met, the least you can say it wasn't foregone! Even if a certain sparks were already in the air, Bella doesn't seem to like the rockstar. Yet Logan is nothing but charming and accommodating. All he wants is the Festival to be a success and he will cross Isabella's path more than once so why be annoying?

Even if things happens in a pretty short period, I loved how feelings developed between them.
Logan is not ready to let a woman in his arms yet. We understand while reading that something must have happened in the past without knowing exactly why.

He doesn't want to let go also because he want Winchester Falls to be his little peace so his first rule is: "No woman in this town"

description

Bella is reluctant to do anything with him because nothing could come out of it. He will leave in a few days + the fact he draws to much attention.
But how can you avoid the attraction when you feel so much energy when you are around each other? How can you avoid the look in each other eyes?

"All the reasons I saw on your face, don't compete with the fire in your eyes when I say the name Bella"

"You have no idea how much I want to say yes"

Once they give in, they can't keep their hands of each other and it's HAWT!!
Taryn Elliott, I discover you with Cari Quinn and I liked you both but here on your own, I like you even more.
I liked the development of the characters. I like the people around them. I love how you bring different universe in your book ( I remember Johnny Cage ;) – Is there a book about him and his band already?)

Of course, everything can stay perfect, it's a trilogy after all! So when you think they are saved and happy... BAM! Nope something wrong happens.
As I said previously, Logan is a mess before he meets Bella and with her he starts to hope but he also knows his past is not really far and somehow ,even if he wants, he can't escape his biggest fear forever.

description

I'm happy I already have book 2 to continue their story because even if the ending is not necessarily considered as a cliffhanger it's most definitely not something you want to wait to know more.

Thank you Taryn Elliott for the opportunity to review your book

4 Tortured Rocker Stars

Anything but Mine gives us the whirlwind, consuming romance of the jaded rocker Logan King and the fiery small town entrepreneur Isabella Grace. Set in what seems a quintessential, cozy quiet town in New York Taryn Elliott easily whisks you away to this surreal and open town with descriptive prose and a quick coupling between two unlikely people right from the beginning which directly contrasts the opening chapter we get from Logan.

Told from both Logan and Isabella’s points of view, the reader gets a bird’s eye view into the mind of a tortured, mysterious man completely captivated by a beautiful, sassy woman all the while bearing the burden of fear over what’s been happening in his rock star life. The angst-filled subplot with Logan working beneath the love story provides much intrigue.

The secondary characters provide comic relief perfectly as well. Nic and Zeke, Isabella and Logan’s best friends respectively, are fun loving and just what each characters needs in their lives. I’m interesting in Zeke’s story too, I wonder if that’s in the works?

The author convinced me these two have something magical happening between them. Her writing fluidly made up of the pages, making Anything but Mine an easy romantic read. Personally, I’m a sucker for tortured rock stars finding solace with an independent, fierce, honest woman he never once saw coming. There’s more to both these characters still than meets the eye and I can’t wait to find out more. Yes, for those readers who must know, the ending leaves more than enough to be desired you want the next part to their story immediately. If you follow my reviews, you know I'm also a sucker for a good cliff hanger - Taryn Elliott did not let me down. But waiting for the next book, the anticipation to meet Logan and Izzy again will tide you over. I promise.

This series has one story arc and my recommendation is to prepare to read the books back to back

A bit of background
Isabella (Bella) Grace owns a rare bookstore with her two best (married) friends in upstate New York. She's trying to change the course of her life, being less the wild child of her youth, and heads the planning committee for this year's Summer Festival. No pressure there even though the headliner is famous rock band singer Logan King.

Logan King returns each year to Winchester Falls because the place is his touchstone. He owns a place there but this year is different as more so than any other time, he needs the peace and tranquillity it always provides.

The romance
It's the highlight of the story! From the moment these two meet, Logan and Bella (he calls her Izzy) feel the powerful connection between them and that just jumps right off the page. I completely got their reasons to not want to give in to their feelings and loved their attempts to do the right thing and that they were unsuccessful (big surprise!). Forget 50 Shades, Crossfire and all the rest as these two define erotic romance. Don't read this in public:)

The bottom line
There's much more going on with Logan that explains his somber nature laying beneath his public façade. It's a sinister element that isn't revealed until late in the story and isn't resolved. Another extremely interesting element is music as the backdrop for the story. It's an inside industry perspective that gives it a strong, realistic edge. I'm hopelessly hooked because I fell for Logan and Bella.

Blurb:
Logan King
Burnout, they say.
Crazy, they whisper.
He thinks the whispers might be closer to the truth.
But they don't know the truth.
No one does.
Because it's too dangerous.
He lives for the stage—or at least he used to.
Lately, he wanted to smash every instrument he owned. The anger and panic living inside him was clawing its way out, one way or another.
Why doesn't matter.
Unless somehow, he can figure out how to make it stop.
Until then, the only answer is home.
Winchester Falls put him back together once, maybe it can do it again.
Maybe it's the one place she can't find him.

Isabella Grace
She never belonged anywhere until she walked into the rundown bookstore in Winchester Falls. Now it’s home and the people there have become her family.
Everything was perfect until he came to town.
Until he smiled at her with those rough edges carved in sadness.
Until he touched her.
Until he loved her.
Until his secrets caught up with them both.

Provocative chemistry shrouded in secrecy. A seductive drama that left me wanting more. This first book in the When You’re Gone trilogy is the introduction to the impetuous but fierce courtship and seduction between broody rock star Logan King and big city girl turned small town business owner Isabella Grace.
“He wanted this place, this woman in his newfound place. His woman for as long as she allowed it.”

Logan has made Winchester Falls his home away from the harrowing limelight characteristic of his career. Every year he makes sure to come back to give back to the community he has adopted through his performances in the Summer Festival, but this time his biggest mistake is not only robbing him of the enjoyment of his occupation but is also threatening to harm the only woman he desperately wants to protect.
“Frustration, lust, and hope were his driving emotions. He poured all of them into the kiss. And when she returned it beat for beat, he demanded more.”

Isabella Grace is a recent transplant from New York leaving behind wild nights and trading them for the prospect of a happy, stable life. She’s taken to Winchester Falls and has even volunteered to help her new town by heading the Summer Festival putting her in direct contact with Logan. She doesn’t want a passing fling and certainly wouldn’t expect to fall for a man whose ghosts and secrets haunt him so ruthlessly.
“In the dark of night, a safe life with a stable guy wasn’t nearly as alluring as this intense man with demons crawling just under the skin.”

But with their instant and undeniable attraction, there’s nothing left to do for Logan than to guard Iz even against himself and for Isabella to pick up the pieces of what “her most epically beautiful mistake” left behind.

Taryn Elliott is a master of beautiful compositions. She quickly and happily transported me to this charming little town where I was hypnotized by the scorching draw between these two very distinct characters.
“His scent slid over her like a purring cat winding around her ankles. Like vanilla had sex with sandalwood and wrapped it in a fresh sheet off the clothesline.”

We get to know Logan’s suffering at the hand of a mysterious stalker, the fascination with his feisty Izzy and his anguish from knowing that letting her get close is both inspiration to live, create music and enjoy life and fear of putting her in harm’s way.
“It’s Isabella or Ms. Grace.”
“… I don’t want to call you the same name everyone else does.”
His voice lowered until it was a growling whisper. “Because you make me want something I shouldn’t. Because it suits that sassy mouth of yours.”

We also get to see Logan through the vivacious Izzy’s eyes, and experience her doubt between wanting something more normal and stable but also unable to deny the rightness of her relationship with the haunted musician.
“He was dangerous and desirable, distant and present at the same time.”

Their chemistry is off the charts explosive. I loved watching them go from suffering through their initial denial to their fall into seduction and passion.
“An echo, a bassline reverb, and finally a duet as he hijacked her shudders and buried his face into her hair. He came so hard his periphery fuzzed and her welcoming warmth was an oasis he’d never hoped to find.”

I also enjoyed reading about Zeke, Nic, and Adam, the delightful secondary characters that brought comedy to the angsty drama.

I love tortured heroes and I love Taryn’s writing style. Her beautiful use of words and the way she arranges then in what to me feels like the perfect melodic pace made this a great read. But even though I understood the intrigue behind Logan’s past, I wasn’t completely happy with Isabella’s character development which felt a bit flat and two dimensional even though I liked being in her head.
"Is there real estate available in Orgasmlandia? I’m moving there. It will be my permanent zip code. Screw it, no forwarding address. Just you and me and all of the naked time we can handle.”

I’m sure we’ll get to know more in the next book which I’m happy to have already on my eReader and can’t wait to start with. But for now, I recommend this for contemporary rock star fans who love flaming hot romances and cliffhangers.
“Whisky beats and a hard rain save me tonight.
If you only knew what it cost me to fight.
The taste of your memory reminds me.
That you're anything but mine."

Anything but Mine is the first book in the When You’re gone series by Taryn Elliott. Told from both points of view and ends with a very bearable unresolved ending.

Anything But Mine by Taryn Elliot

This is the first book in the new When You're Gone trilogy by Taryn Elliot and it has a bit of a cliffhanger. Now that that's been noted, I LOVED this book! I've yet to read a book written solely by Taryn (only where she's co-authored) but I was far from disappointed. This book ticked so many boxes for me: there was humor, passion, intrigue. And Logan's sexy hands and sexier smile *swoon*. I loved so much about Logan: he was sexy (did I already mention that?!), he was smooth and he could sing. Sure he has his issues, but underneath it all, he's a good person. I really liked Izzy too! Far too often females are written weak and whiney and I did not find that at all in this case. This was an outstanding read for me and I can't wait for the next installment! I would happily recommend and give it 5 sexy stars!

Check out my other reviews at Little Miss Bookmark!

First of all, this ending was complete and total bullshit. It wasn't even an ending!!! It was practically the middle of a damn sentence and it just cuts off like it was completely normal. NEWSFLASH!! It's not normal to end a book like that. Damnit. So of course, I had to go buy the next book just so I could find out how the sentence ended. Fine, it wasn't LITERALLY in the middle of a sentence but the story was just kicking up like 20 notches and then BOOM!! Oh, you can't find out what happens unless you pick up the next novel. It was a bait and switch technique that I really didn't appreciate. But the author got what they wanted, for you to buy the next one and being the sucker that I am, I did it. I think it would have been nicer to finish out their story and then when (or if) your writing is good enough (which it is with Taryn Elliott) then you would pick up the next novel and continue the story. Ugh. It just really irritated me. In case you didn't notice.

Let's move on because I could really just go on and on right now. Okay ... the story ... the bones of the story are really good. I liked the premise of the whole thing and reading about the lives of Logan and Bella. I did think that the sex scenes were just too long. I get it. Spoiler ahead!!! They go at it like rabbits. I actually ended up skimming a lot of the sex scenes because I was enjoying the other elements of the story so much. I just wanted to read more about Bella and Logan as a "couple" (can you really say that about a fling?!?) trying to figure each other out.

You know, this book would have been 5 stars for me if not for the sex scenes. Oh, and if not for the amount of times that the author referenced Logan's wealth. You don't need to say it repeatedly or extra slow while speaking loudly, I get it. He's rich. He's the richest guy ever in the history of wealth. But it's tiring to have to read that over and over like I'm 98 years old, hard of hearing and a little slow.

Other than that, it was a good book. I really enjoyed the back and forth between the characters. I like reading about sassy/smart-mouthed characters. It makes the read more interesting and gives it a little zing where other books fall short. I'll probably read this again later on ... maybe after I finish the 2nd book ... which I just bought ... damn you, Taryn Elliott!!

You know what I love most about Taryn Elliott; her innate ability to paint a picture with her words so that you can hear, see and feel as if you were right there. And she’s done it again, with Anything But Mine ( While You’re Gone Book 1)

Logan King and Isabella Grace each have their reasons for choosing Winchester Falls as their home, neither of which include their paths crossing. But when they do, sparks jump faster than a single up the Billboard charts. How does this impede her five year plan? Can they withstand his alluding past? Well, you will have to read the book to find out. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Logan is the rock star trying to get his barrings again and heads home for the festivals, Isabelle is trying to start over and they end up crossing paths, with a spark and some hell of sexy scenes this book was great, I just wish I could move right into the next.

Anything But Mine, Taryn Elliott
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: Mystery & Thrillers, Romance
It seems so many romances get divided into trilogies now – and I’d far rather read the story as one complete one. The cliff-hanger ending too – I Hate Them – and this book has a real doozie of one at the end. Bah! I just get so engrossed when its a good read, as this one is, and then - wham, its ended just as I really, really need to know what happens next. By the time the next part is out I’ve lost the flow. What I like to do is to read all the parts on one fell swoop - I enjoy the story so much better that way. Still, this is a part one, and I can’t find any info about when parts two and three are out....hopefully fairly soon Winking smile I do worry about things like that as I’ve a few on my kindle where authors seem to have not gone further than part one and that's really frustrating. Taryn has written several books though, and I’m confident she won’t let her readers down like that.
Logan is a great character, he’s a star but without the star arrogance. Handsome, wealthy, successful and yet he’s still that core of Southern gentility, respect for ladies, for older people, a man who wants to help not one who abuses his position. He values what this little town has given him, and wants to give back to it hence his part in the festival. Isabella ( Izzy as he calls her) is a recent import to the town and is running the festival with the help ( or hindrance!) of the Mayor, a lady who’s a bit like a steamroller, but well meaning, even though she disrupts all Izzy’s plans. Logan and Izzy lock heads at first, but the attraction between them is hot, sizzling and Logan can’t help himself from wanting more from her, despite the secrets and problems he’s currently having. Izzy, she’s a lovely lady, has found some peace finally in this little town, full of people she’s come to love. I get the feeling she’s got secrets hidden too, and it’s not just Logan that has them, but hers aren’t out yet. I can’t help wondering what's behind her move to this town. I know she’s got her business partners and their decisions will have factored in, but it feels like there’s more, that she’s escaping from something. Maybe I’m reading too much into the story – I don’t know, its just the impression I get.
I love the way Logan rounds up his friends and they all step in, the way the town comes together to work on what’s needed, the way Izzy is so passionate about her business and her post as Festival organiser. She doesn’t seem to have any friends other than those from the town, and that’s part of the mystery of her for me. Then there’s Logan’s problems, they’re just starting in this part and its clear there’s more to come that could place Izzy in danger. That part sounds really promising, could work into some terrific dramatics. I’ve read a few of Taryn’s books now, and she does that drama part so well so I’m hoping for good things from this opening.
Stars: Its a great start, my reservations about trilogies and cliff-hangers aside, and I really hope there’s not a long wait til the next two parts are out.

Synopsis:

My review:

When I started this book I felt it was too good to be true. Everything just fell into place and Logan and Izzy just fit so well together and they have amazing chemistry. I loved the story, but the whole time I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. It was too good to be true. Well, the shoe dropped, literally, at the end...

I got so frustrated and angry with Logan, he was being such a fool! I wanted to reach into my kindle and shake some sense into him! He just walked away! I could not believe it! Aimee is the epitome of a spoiled.... ( I will not elaborate, it might get me into trouble.) But I am angry and disappointed in Logan. He does not have the courage to stand up against Aimee and do something about the situation. I hope this is rectified in the next book!

The cliffhanger at the end of this book is epic. You finish it feeling like a caffeine addict in urgent need of the next cup, or in this case the next book in the trilogy.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Will hot rock star sex turn into something more for Izzy and Logan, or does his past ruin everything?

*I would like to thank Fido Publishing via NetGALLEY for giving me an unreleased copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is a great start to a new Adult series and makes me hope that the other two will also receive 5 star ratings. There is hot sexual scenes, but not excessively so in the novel. I love that this novel is not the same old plot of rock star meets girl then some angst before they fall in love. This plot has some great unexpected treats to throw your way. The book kept my interest from the very beginning and I loved the characters in the book.

As it is the first of a trilogy, there is a huge cliffhanger. I have to admit that I am already anxiously awaiting book two to find out some of the answers that Elliott has unanswered for us on purpose. It even has some great suspense interwoven with the romance. So, if you like mystery, thrillers, hot and steamy sex, and rock and roll romance you are definitely going to be quite happy with this novel.

ARC provided by Fido Publishing via NetGalley for an honest review.

The best thing about this book is that as I was reading, I felt everything that was happening. The author did such a phenomenal job in this story that it was like I was RIGHT THERE thru the whole book. That's my favorite kind of story. The one you get lost in. Taryn Elliott did that for me, so kudos for that!
This is the story of a musician and a bookstore owner (does that not just intrigue you? lol) trying to see if they can have a relationship. That simple. BUT, their story doesn't wrap up in this book so we have kind of a cliffhanger. No HEA neat little package tied with a bow so far .... but you knwo its coming :)
There's plenty of passion and humor and even a little intrigue....Logan has some wacko baggage both he and Izzy have to deal with in order to move forward but we're left hanging in the end so ..... STAY TUNED KIDS!

Anything But Mine is the First book in the When Your Gone Trilogy. Logan King comes home to play in the festival every year. This year is different. He decides to play the festival for three days and invite some stars to play making it an epic three day concert that will raise money for the small town. Isabella Grace a woman who moved to the town not long after last year's concert. Isabella runs a book store and just happens to be in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly with the festival. When Logan and Isabella meet, there is an instant chemistry, but Logan is a Rock Star with a certain problem and Isabella has a 5 year plan that does not include getting involved with a man like Logan. Can they resist temptation or do they tempt the fates? I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and the steamy scenes are Hot! I look forward to reading more from Taryn Elliott and I will with her next book where the story continues with Logan and Isabella.

3.5-4 Stars. This was a sweet surprise. I really liked the chemistry between Logan and Izzy. This was a really fast read, and once I started I did not want to put it down. I loved all the secondary characters in this book, and even enjoyed reading bits about them. As with a lot of books, the angst could have been settled between the H/h with a good ole conversation, and I wish we would have had that. There was not a lot of talking between the 2 on things that mattered and that is what the book lacked. Of course this ended on a huge cliffy, and of course I am excited to read it when it comes out!!

Bought this a while ago after reading the Lost In Oblivion titles available at the time then got distracted. Picked it up on a whim the other night after a couple of disappointing reads and fell into the story. Logan and Izzy set fire to the virtual page and kept me up much too late. The series is entirely addictive and not recommended for anyone who needs sleep.

A Thoroughly Engaging & Sexy Start To This Series!!😍🔥💘🎶🎸🎤💔😭
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Anything But Mine: Rockstar Romantic Suspense (Winchester Falls Book 1)

Rock royalty, Logan King, has returned to Winchester Falls, his haven & salvation when the his life becomes too much & needs peace & normalcy. At the end of August every year he headlines at their Festival there, free, for his Children's Foundation with his band, All The King's Men!🎶🎤🎸 He's verging on burn out because of extreme stress. He's being stalked & it's getting his head in a bad way!!😳😢

Isabella Grace moved to Winchester Falls last year with her bestfriend & her husband. She met them at College & they've opened an online & now storefront book store, they hung down rare books for private clients but also stock amazing finds too!😍📚📕 She's in overall charge of the summer festival this year. A few days before the first events are due to start the Mayor informs another venue has been added!!😡🙈 She's taken there, it's an old barn on the edge of town, work men are already crawling all over it trying to get it fixed up. She's horried, she hasn't got any budget left for this or to pay for extra hands to play in it!😱💥

Logan notices the Mayor & is introduced to Isabella. He's punched by insta lust, her topaz eyes & spit fire attitude call to him. She's shocked to realise the sexy 'workman' she'd been secretly oggling is none other than Logan King. Then she's ready to punch his gorgeous face when he informs her he wants to play in the Barn on 2 nights!🙈 He says he'll foot the bill for security & getting it up to code, he's also going to try & pull in favours to get acts in as well, she agrees but demands he does 3 nights plus his usual All The King's Men finale in the Park on the last night.😂 The sparks fly between them!🔥💘🔥

I really enjoyed this book. I liked all of the characters except the obvious one!😡😡 Its got a lot of layers to this story, I can't wait to delve deeper after that disaster of an ending!💔😭 It was nice seeing some cameos from other series too 👍

I read this as part of a four-book set by Cari Quinn. It's also published as Tangled, and unfortunately (for me) is part of a trilogy, which means cliffhanger, which means it immediately loses a star for me. There are two more books, so I took off another star. Otherwise, this would have been a 5-star book for me.

I loved Logan. I mean, so freaking hot, chemistry, rock star, fantastic guy, and all the sexuality that goes with that. And I really loved Isabella too. Their chemistry is off the charts, and it's a great BEGINNING to the story. The story is crafted well and moves at a good pace. The side characters are interesting, add to the story, and, then, she drops me off the cliff. I should have known with the page counts diminishing she was going to leave me hanging.

Yeah, I've read all the Harry Potter books and all the Twilight ones too. I went in KNOWING they were a series, with a cliffhanger, but, for the life of me, I cannot understand a ROMANCE with a cliffhanger, unless it's solely to sell more books. And it truly pisses me off every time. Because every time, every STINKING time, the 2nd book is filler and usually crap, and I'm wholly unsatisfied, but I'm so invested in the characters that I want to know how it ends. Then the third book drags on until I get to the HEA, but at that point, I'm just exhausted. So, I'm going to purchase books 2 and 3, knowing I'll be disappointed, but hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I am taking the opportunity of a lazy holiday at home to knock out the last of these free romances.

Anything but Mine is an ok romance. This book is supposed to make you want to know what happens to the characters enough to buy the second book. I don’t care enough either for the characters or for the story to buy the next book.

This book was really not that great. I didn’t find the sex scenes particularly erotic or engaging (I may be a bit jaded so YMMV). Anything but Mine contains strictly hetero safe sex. I understand that it is good to portray safe sexual behavior but aren’t romances fantasy? Who wants to use a condom in fantasy? There is a reason that the porn industry fought condom use – it tanks sales – I wonder if the same is true in romances?

The overused body descriptions gets old fast by about chapter three I was so done with “perfect cock” and “illegal legs.” About the best thing I can say about Anything but Mine is that is a quick read. I don't like cliffhanger endings attempting to drive sales for a book series. Want to sell a series of books - write better books.

Anything but Mine is not something that I would read again. I doubt that I will read another book from the authors, even if offered for free.

Amazing!

First book in the Winchester Falls series and for me, totally engrossing and amazing. Nothing like a dirty talking, hot, sexy hunky rocker that wants a certain woman so bad he's willing to break all his rules to have her. That is until a chain of crazy events makes him have to chose her safety over what could have been. He has to take back his life and sanity..right now. Will she ever understand how much he meant every word he said to her?

OMG, seriously..Logan is a walking dream man and Isabella/his Izzy is just the woman he has been waiting for but never thought he'd find. This book ended on a cliffie but the next book is waiting! Later...

Cari and Taryn..you wreck me!

Isabella Grace is new to town, trying to build her business after a somewhat wild past in the city. She’s classy, independent, and bold enough to take what she wants. Logan King is a rock star who escapes to his cabin in the small town to unwind from the stress of mega stardom. He’s just…yummy. The two are immediately drawn to one another. Each has their own reason for wanting to not get involved, yet their explosive chemistry can’t be denied for long. Thank gawd.

The music theme is amazingly detailed. The secondary characters are witty and so well-developed many should get their own stories someday. The tension is just tight enough to keep you wondering what’s around the next corner.

I love this couple. I love this story. I can’t wait for book two, Bulletproof Weeks.

Logan King is a rockstar who is close to 20 years of his career. He started early, but has been losing his pleasure in concerts for some time because of a madwoman who is stalking him... when he arrives in Winchester Falls for the Annual Summer Festival... which is a pleasure he discovers that this year can be even more pleasurable, more intimate, and meets Izzy (Izabella) Grace.

Izzy was a fan of Logan King in her teens and never imagined getting to know and getting involved with this Rockstar, but it was hard to resist, but Logan did not tell about the madwoman who chases him and has to get away from Izzy to protect her.
