The Things We Can't Change #5

The Things We Can't Change Part Five: The Epilogue

Rate this book
Evie and Zeke thought their troubles were over.

They thought they had solved their problems and moved past their own fears and insecurities. They thought it was their time.

They were wrong.

Tony is back. Evie's father's killer is still on the loose. Evie still can't seem to talk sense into her stepmother or figure out her future. Zeke still has a final secret. And someone is still sending him notes about it.

Every epilogue, every story, is supposed to have a happy ending.

Evie and Zeke have one more fight to find theirs

Welcome :]

Third person feels.... impersonal, so lezz just keep it real ;]

My name is Kassandra, one of the few rare gems who spell the name with a K. I like to read, write, and lay in the sun. Since I live in sunny Florida, I'm usually doing all three at once. I dream of returning to my hometown, Columbus, Ohio, but in the meantime I make do with placing most of my stories there. I come from a huge family dominated with girls and have a dopey, mostly-Black-Lab dog named Phineas. I tend to like fictional men better than real ones, and sometimes it's quite the hassle trying to keep up with all my book-relationships ;] Someday, though, I'm sure true love will strike me down, but until then, I'll share all my book boyfriends with you.

They can be found in all my novels, and I hope I speak the truth when I say I have a little something for everyone; mystery, romance, paranormal, real-life, drama and epicness. You can find information about my past, present, and forthcoming books in both my blog and Facebook links. I absolutely love to hear from readers, so be sure to drop me a line so I can thank you personally.

I'll leave you to read now, but welcome to my world; a place where true love exists, everyone gets a happy ending, magic is real, God is love, and it's perfectly acceptable to skip sleep, food, and company in order to finish that last chapter.

Oh, and the men are extremely good looking ;]

Great ending

Enjoyed the series very much. Surprised by the anonymous note writer and murderer. Hope it inspired people who are abused to get help and don't feel like the bring on the abuse but are victims

for book reviews, new release updates, giveaways and more!!

I make no secret of the fact that I am a huge fan of this series. I've almost counted the days between the release of each Part and jumped to reading them as quickly as possible once they became available. Each time I started a new Part I was worried that it wasn't going to live up to my expectations, and each time that worry was quashed very quickly - without exception I fell straight back into the story, reconnected with the characters, could recall the finer detail from previous Parts and absolutely loved the next installment.

I have no intention of disclosing any of the detail of the story in Part 5 in this review because I don't want to take away other readers enjoyment by spoiling the storyline. What I will say is that Part 5 - The Epilogue was a perfect conclusion to this story. It gave me everything I needed to feel completely satisfied - I discovered exactly what would come of Evie and Zeke's relationship, I found out the truth behind what happened to Evie's father, I learned about other connections between characters that had been hinted at previously and I even got a promise of more to come from some of the secondary characters in this gorgeous story.

Kassandra Kush has a beautiful writing style and she tackles a range of sensitive issues very effectively. I think there are endless messages in this for everyone, but what I really loved was the connection between Evie and Zeke and their willingness to challenge each other when they needed it most. Both of them dealt with significant issues and were only able to continue moving forward with the others support. Even when it meant they felt incredibly uncomfortable, Zeke and Evie would push through that feeling because they knew the other person needed them to. I think we would all be incredibly fortunate to have someone in our life to challenge us when we need the extra push and be confident would catch us when we fall as Evie and Zeke did for each other. Part 5 - The Epilogue ticked so many boxes for me I am now looking forward to the opportunity to sit down and read the entire story from start to finish. It is a series I highly recommend to everyone.

What a journey!!!!! Let me start by saying from the moment I began this series I questioned WHY I chose to continue reading it, knowing the highly sensitive, super emotional, very harsh subject matter it contained? Well after only a few chapters in I knew why...because Kassandra Kush proved in that short time that she would pull the heart strings to the limit, but would not break them. I've said this several times before, & I will continue to...I wish every teen could read this series & take away the amazing parts that they may need for themselves or a loved one. Be prepared for a very intense ride through some very real issues that will most likely require tissues, but know that they are so worth it!! The Things We Can't Change is so well told I will read this series again, No Doubt. Kush has this lovely ability to spin the darkest of situations into a beautifully heart-warming story that will win you over. And this one in particular did just that! My heart swelled with joy reading the final pages of Evie & Zeke's story, & as much as I love to see a series continue this ending spot was perfect! Not that I would object to a new story later about their "Happily Ever After", but I am content just knowing they have made peace with their demons. And the news Kassandra shared in her Author's Note made me even more excited! Can. Not. Wait. =D

when I first picked up this series about a month ago I wasnt sure if I was ready for a five book series. however... when I read book one in one sitting I new I was embarking on the journey. Kassandra's ability to leave u wanting more is amazing. cliff hangers truly are her cruel gift. this book adventure taught me so much about life and the struggle and really hit home in some places. I will never forget the story of Zeke and evie. it has touched my heart and caused a couple alnighters but hey...sometimes u got to struggle through to get to the good parts :)

Book # 117 for 2014

Damn this story was long.

This last part of Evie and Zeke's story ends with a bang.

It was an absolute clusterfuck of craziness. And it was great to see Evie and Zeke push on and go through it all.

The epilogue was amazing and so sweet. I loved this!!! :-)

Well, I dare say that's a happy ending to an often unhappy story. I honestly was going to stop after book three... I just felt like I knew everything that was going to happen from there and figured I'd save myself the $8. But, I'm glad I finished the story. It's a story of strength and empowerment and overcoming personal demons, and while we may not all have Evie's demons, we do all have some. So, regardless of one's struggles, I think this is a series than can help everyone in some way.

After all they were through this seemed a little bit over board and seeing how other parts seemed to strech on and on this seemed very rushed. And the way they got over it just with a snap of the fingers seemed far fetched. Also still the mistakes were bugging me a lot. But all and all the story was good.

Great conclusion to the series. I have to admit, it took me longer to finish this book because I had that awful feeling that something was coming.... *shivers* But it was a great ending and I loved it! <3
