The phenomenal Lewis Trondheim is never where you next expect him. As an artist and writer, Trondheim has earned an international following as one of the most inventive, versatile, and prolific graphic authors. From autobiography to adventure, from bestselling fantasy and children's books to visual essays, Trondheim's unique, seminal imagination consistently dazzles. His work has won numerous awards, including the Angoulême prize for best series with McConey and he also co-created the titanic fantasy epic Dungeon with Joann Sfar.

He is one of the founding members of the alternative publishing house L'Association, a proving ground for many of the greatest talents in European comics working today. He is also the editorial director of a new imprint called Shampooing, dedicated to comics for all ages.

Lewis lives in the South of France with his wife, Brigitte Findakly, and two children.

Jestem zachwycony tą serią. Ralph to chodzący sarkazm, nie przypominam sobie tak kapitalnej postaci w komiksie. Sporo się dzieje, ale wszystko jest logiczne (nawet jeśli początkowo nie wygląda). Fantasy zobrazowane kreską, która najpierw zaskakuje, a potem okazuje się znakiem firmowym serii. Przyznaję, że myślałem, że to opowieśc dla dzieci albo chociaż dla wszystkich (jak "Gnat"), ale nie, to jest materiał na dobry serial zrealizowany przez HBO czy innego Netflixa. Błyskotliwe pod każdym względem.

Eine Familie findet sich wieder. Oder nicht?

Die Anzahl der handelnden Charaktere verkleinert sich zum Glück etwas, und die Handlung geht lustug weiter mit absurden Dialogen und viel Humor.

Ce troisième tome est le dernier du premier cycle. J’étais curieux de lire ce tome, car j’avais bien aimé le premier, mais j’avais été un peu déçu par le deuxième. Celui-ci est excellent. Le scénario est plus travaillé, plusieurs rebondissements, humour absurde et une fin qui nous promet un prochain tome tout aussi intéressant.

It's amazing how seemingly effortless Trondheim builts up characters and whole worlds while fragmenting his work with subtle irony. Almost perfect mix of epic narrative and situation comedy. And he probably can draw quicker and better while drunk and handcuffed than most self-important "artists" out there.
