René Goscinny (1926 - 1977) was a French author, editor and humorist, who is best known for the comic book Asterix , which he created with illustrator Albert Uderzo, and for his work on the comic series Lucky Luke with Morris (considered the series' golden age).

The book of the film 'Asterix and the Big Fight', a 1989 French animated film, the first film based on the Asterix comic series to be produced outside France (being a co-production between France and Germany). Despite sharing the same title as 'Asterix and the Big Fight' (book #4), the film shares only minor plot elements with that story, and is primarily an adaptation of 'Asterix and the Soothsayer' (book #19). Getafix is accidentally made insane and amnesic by Obelix, forcing Asterix to try to cure him as his village is deceived by a fraudulent soothsayer that works for the Romans.

I only give it 2 stars because my copy is in German,(I found it in a dumpster!) so I can't actually read it. It's screenshots and such of the movie, however it's a movie I have yet to see,so it's cool.

Ce n'est pas une vraie BD. Je ne sais pas si la version de 1989 a été révisée, mais la mise en page est relativement mauvaise (grosse police, pas d'accent sur les majuscules), en 2021 cela fait vraiment amateur.

Μια από τις καλύτερες περιπέτειες του Αστερίξ είναι "Το χτύπημα του μενίρ"!! Και πως να μην είναι άλλωστε, αφού βασίζεται σε δύο αριστουργηματικές παλιότερες ιστορίες. στον "Αγώνα των Αρχηγών" και στον "Μάντη". Οι δημιουργοί έχουν συνδυάσει τις δύο ιστορίες και δημιούργησαν "Το χτύπημα του μενίρ", το οποίο αφού έγινε η καλύτερη ταινία Αστερίξ κινουμένων σχεδίων, κυκλοφόρησε και σε κόμιξ. Η υπόθεση είναι σπουδαία: Ο Πανοραμίξ χάνει τα λογικά του και αδυνατεί πλέον να φτιάξει το μαγικό φίλτρο. Την ίδια στιγμή ένας μάντης καταφθάνει στο γαλατικό χωριό και εκμεταλλεύεται την αφέλεια των κατοίκων του. Ταυτόχρονα, οι Ρωμαίοι ετοιμάζονται να επέμβουν... Δράση, χιούμορ, συγκίνηση είναι τα συστατικά της συγκεκριμένης ιστορίας. Πραγματικά υπέροχη!

There are no balloons in this adaptation of a film that was a semi-adaptation of two previous tomes*. It's Asterix narrating with frames from the moving picture which often served to jumble the order of his exposition. That was very annoying and the story wasn't up to the usual brilliance I've come to expect and relish.


*"... The Big Fight" + "... Soothsayer"
(I've read neither so I don't know how close the script is to the happenings within them.)

An odd adaptation as this is just Asterix And The Big Fight for the movies. Better than the other adaptations but still only three stars.
