A somewhat interesting premise kind of ruined by bad pacing. The book just kind of throws you immediately into the action and takes a while to explain what's going on and who the characters are and their relations to one another. If done well, this could be an interesting way to start with a bang and drip feed the necessary information to the reader, but it's just done so poorly here. It also feels like the story and character goals change every few pages, and once they reach that goal, it changes and they move right on to the next. No important scene feels like it lasts as long as it should, and by the end, I still wasn't totally sure if anyone achieved their goals. Also, there were a ton of typos and grammatical errors in the second half of the book. Because of the breakneck pace the story moves at, I never felt like I was bored reading it, but I also never felt like I was truly enthralled either. For pulpy sci-fi you get at a discount bookstore, it was fine, but I was expecting something more.
This book was a bit slow and repetitive. It was interesting, but not all that great. Plus, I don't recommend it; there were some inappropriate scenes that were completely unnecessary and made me lose respect for the protagonist, which made the story even more uninteresting.
