Mercy is no friend of mine. Karma, she has yet to show kindness to me.
The hits just keep on coming for Tessie Marie Harlow. She has never had an easy life. Her mom disabled, her dad long gone, and a single mom raising a rambunctious little boy, that’s Tessie’s world.
Her childhood aspirations to be a nurse long since disappeared after a college spring fling both blessed and burdened her with a baby boy. Dropping out of school, she returns to her hometown and begins to settle in. Getting the only job she could as a bartender she spends her days caring for her son and nights serving the Hellions Motorcycle Club and their affiliates.
Tired of waiting for Rex to grow up, she’s faced with the bane existence of her life until one night changes everything. In the darkest hour of her merciless ride through life, she’s saved by a quiet, laid back Hellion.
Andy ‘Shooter’ Jenkins has always been around. Too wrapped in Rex she has never really noticed him before. He has never been loud or known to have the girls hanging all over him. He is a mystery. A chance encounter brings him to her rescue not once but twice.
The Desert Ghosts Motorcycle Club are in town and bring their own brand of chaos right to Tessie’s door. Forced into her day to day life, Shooter is doing everything he can to shelter and protect her as lines are crossed and a war between two clubs begins.
Secrets revealed putting two brothers in the Hellions Motorcycle Club at a serious crossroads in their lives.
This is not a ride for pleasure. This is not a ride for safety. This is not a ride for love. This is a ride for endurance. Mercy has never once shined her grace down for these two, but in the midst of the danger and lies can they learn to rely on one another and ride it out together?

OMG! I loved Shooter and Tessie!! I'm not sure why I went into this thinking that somehow it would be Rex and Tessie in the end but I'm so glad it didn't work out that way. Chelsea Camaron gave these characters so much freaking heart. Although I didn't condone the secret Tessie kept, I kinda understood it. Even with Rex's POV, you could tell that he still had a lot of growing up to do. However, Shooter more than made up for everything. That man! He was sweet, considerate, honest, honorable, protective, sexy and true.
On to the next one!

OMG, I just finished reading and this book is by far THE BEST of the series to date!!!! I could not put this book down. First let me start by saying I didn't even know this book was out so when I saw it this morning advertised on FB, I one-clicked immediately:) I have truly loved this series but this book just blew it completely out of the water, I mean holy wowza, it was SUPERB... The storyline, Shooter and Tessie, I mean these 2 were just absolutely PERFECT in every way for me. The story, gosh, I don't know where to begin it was brilliantly written, it was super emotional, meaning I had tears in my eyes literally at times reading, it was gripping, touching, super sweet, gosh it was simply GREAT!!!!!! The emotions I felt were so intense and the storyline was so moving and yet Chelsea handled the "issues" with kid gloves, it was so damn moving for me. I have nothing but the utmost respect and complete admiration for this author the way she handled their storyline. Rex oh gosh he added so much to this storyline and oh I can't even form enough words or express my thoughts enough on how wonderful of a story this was especially when Rex got into the mix of it all, I was just cheering them all on and wow how they all came together to make the absolute best of their situation was just beautiful!
I was sold hook line and sinker when I got through chapter one.
Tessie is a woman who had big dreams and had to change her life course because she fell for the wrong bad boy. Except, he isn't all that bad. Just more of an ass. He actually has a big heart, but we don't get to see that side of Rex until near the end. Tessie is strong, capable, and in need of a man who is strong enough to stand by her side. Enter Shooter.
Andy "Shooter" Jenkins, is a really good guy with a lot of pain and guilt in his heart. A man who served his country and because of that lost the woman he loved. But truth is, sometimes the one you think you love the most in the world is just a lesson to learn from and move on from. Shooter is a true hero of sorts. His goal is to save Tessie, especially when tragedy befalls her.
To see Tessie heal and move forward and realize that life isn't always going to slap her hand and tell her she can't have something special was actually really beautiful. To see Shooter come to terms and leave behind the guilt was as well. My only gripe, I would love to have seen the meeting between Shooter and his ex's father. I think that would have been amazing.
This book was fantastic, but then again, this series is fantastic! I give this 4.5 lipsticks!!!!

Oh, Wow! Oh, Wow! Oh, Wow! You have to read this book! Merciless Ride is the third book of The Hellions series by the master of MC hotties Chelsea Camaron and the best by far!
Tessie Harlow has been Rex's booty call for far too long. Rex was her girl crush, then college hook-up and now a convenient piece whenever he's at the bar that Tessie bartends at. She is so over that and has made it clear that she is no longer one of his many, many chicks that are just waiting for him to crook his finger. Life is hard enough for her right now. She's a single mom just trying to make ends meet and caring for a disabled mom. Not to mention the safety that she always felt bartending at the popular MC hangout has now been shattered.
Andy "Shooter" Jenkins is a member of the Hellions Motorcycle Club. He's definitely badass, but has a laid back way about him that stole my heart from the very beginning. When he walks into the bar to find Tessie being assaulted by a member of the Desert Ghosts Motorcycle Club he loses his mind. Not only does he stop the assault with brutal efficiency, but he cares for Tessie in every way that she needs.
"I've been there, Tessie," Shooter's voice whispers in my ear, "where the silence is deafening. Where everything is so dark on the inside, the light of day won't break through as you go through the motions. When the darkness falls and your mind takes your body back to the place where it falls apart."
I love Shooter in all his laid back hotness. And I love Tessie! She's a self-sufficient, hard working mother that will do anything for her kid which makes her all kinds of badass in her right. She hid some really important things, but never maliciously or selfishly. She felt she was doing the right thing. Shooter was perfect in every way. He is strong enough to make a girl feel safe, yet he's intuitive, thoughtful, loyal, honorable and gentle when needed to be.
Chelsea Camaron, you sure can write hot badass biker books. I definitely put you up there as one of the greats!

Shooter and Tessie where do I began . Tessie was the enigma, not much was know but she was a presence in the first two books. There was a good reason why and this book explodes because of the secret that Tessie has been keeping .
Life hasn’t been easy for Tessie, but she doesn’t complain. Her mother is disabled and she has a adorable rambunctious boy she tries to bring up the best on her own. Her dreams are long gone and she keeps her secrets close.
As she trying to keep things on the low whilst earn money to provide for her son. Resulting becoming a bartender for the Hellion and Rex the VP plaything. They have had a thing going on for years but he hasn’t grow up and Tessie wants more.
It not a lot to ask but Tessie is special and it obvious despite her low esteem. She is loved by the members until one night when she saved by the last Hellion she ever expected.
Andy ‘ Shooter’ Jenkins the man who has been waiting around quietly in the background. He never over indulgences but he saves her and opens Pandora box.
As it no ordinary accident and it involves a rival club who are in town to do business. It looks like Hellions are about to go to war but the real question is . Will Tessie let a man protect and save her from the war
This has to be my favourite of the series. Mercy has a lot to do with this story and my heart breaks when Tessie calls out to her asking for some. She had a tough life for the last few years and then for Shooter to sweep her off her feet and then trouble to break lose on all fronts. Your heart breaks for the both of them as they fight just to have a relationship and figure out things . As it no just them to consider and it going take a lot patience to have a HEA.
Merciless Ride Review It’s no secret that I love Miss. Camaron’s writing. So, when I got Merciless Ride, I squeaked in delight. With each prior book on this series, Miss. Camaron took me on a roller coaster ride, full of tight turns and steep slopes. This book was no different. First, we have Tessie: Strong, hard worker, and one hell of a good mother. I love when I can relate to the characters I read. Anyone who has struggled in life will sympathize with Tessie. Then we have Shooter, *sighting*. What can I say about him? Hot as hell, handsome, kind, thoughtful, generous…. Ms. Camaron weaves some powerful magic. She can make a badass alpha male, member of the Hellions Club turn into the sweetest and gentlest of man, without losing the dark edge that is so attractive on bad boys. Yeah, he had my heart the first time he rescued Tessie. I just can’t wait for the next journey. Fantastic five ‘shooting’ stars read.
LOVED!!! We knew about the strange and confusing relationship between Rex and Tessie from prior books but this book gives us the whole story. Tessie knows it's time to move on and live her own life and this is her story. After the knocks life has dealt her over the years it is so wonderful to see how everything works out so great for her. You don't want to miss this story! We all need a Shooter in our lives. I highly recommend it.
Favorite of the series Chelsea Camaron knows how to take you on a ride. Mercy is no friend to Tessie or Shooter. I loved the chemistry. Rex gah I wanted to smack him but I still have a soft spot for him.
Chelsea Camaron has hit this one out of the park. I absolutely loved One Ride and Forever Ride, yet this book takes it to a whole new level. The character development, the story line... it was just absolutely fantastic! You don't actually have to read book one and two to enjoy this story so there should be no reason on why you haven't already purchased or are purchasing this book. SO GO ONE CLICK THIS ONE NOW
Let me start by saying that if you love MC Books and have a list of Biker Boyfriends like me... you have to clear that list and place Andy Jenkins AKA Shooter at the top of your list. Yes, you will definitely putting you at the top of the list. Goodbye Tank you have been replaced by Shooter and Rex.
This story has it all! The drama, the happiness, the tears and the gut wrenching moments that you can't help but feel each and every devastating emotion. This is the story of Shooter, Tessie and Rex.
Tessie isn't part of the Hellion club, but she has had a long and difficult relationship with patched member Rex. He is definitely a player. He is the hit it and quit it type of man. A relationship would never be on his radar. Tessie has not had an easy love life or life in general. She has struggled to get out of her little town and follow her dream of nursing, yet she finds herself pregnant and moves back home. She works as a bartender in a local bar that is mostly filled with the members of the Hellions MC. She has always felt safe at her job. Sure she deals with the everyday a@@hole but it was never anything to put her in harms way. That all changes! Her life is completely altered and she is consumed in darkness. The only light she sees is Shooter.
Awwwh Shooter. Yep he is an absolutely wonderful character. He is a patched member of the Hellions MC. He is ex-military and is pretty much a mystery. You know he has his secrets, his demons yet you never expect what it is holding him in the darkness. When you see is soul, you cant help but feel so much sadness and emotion for him.
Tessie and Shooter are two souls facing their own personal darkness. They are the lights for one another. It truly breaks your heart at the same time has you smiling ear to ear. I cant say it enough that there is so much emotion within this book that it leaves you speechless. With each and every book Chelsea writes you get a lesson with it. Sure, you enjoy the story, yet there is a higher purpose a lesson to say. With Merciless Ride, for me it was that everyone can come out of the darkness. That you are truly not alone and just when you think no one will ever except you... all of you, you will find that light when you least expect it.
This story ends with such a high that it leaves you waiting for the next Ride. All I can say is I have so much love for Rex that I am waiting on pins and needles for his story!
GO BUY MERCILESS RIDE. FALL IN LOVE WITH SHOOTER AND TESSIE.
Life as a single mother is a hardship that Tessie Harlow knows all too well. A struggle to raise her son and help care for her ailing mother. There never seems to be enough hours in the day or money on hand for bills. Tessie spends time with her son during the day, and works as a bartender at night. The bar that Tessie works at is frequented by the members of the Hellions Ride Motor Cycle Club.
A long standing hook-up has continued over the years between Tessie and Rex. One that haunts Tessie every time Rex seeks out other women. Knowing that Rex will never grow up or offer her a chance at a future, Tessie is determined to make sure she is unavailable to Rex’s every whim.
As The Desert Ghosts Motorcycle Club blows into town, they leave a trail of destruction that will leave Tessie struggling to pick up the pieces. She finds security in an unexpected place. Andy ‘Shooter’ Jenkins is the savior that comes barreling into Tessie’s life. He is determined to help Tessie recover and protect her family at all costs.
What no one realizes is that Tessie has a secret that will rock the very foundation of someone’s life when it is revealed. Shooter stumbles upon her secret and keeps it under wraps for Tessie. As everyone knows, secrets have a way of coming out when you least expect it. This is no exception. An explosive revelation will affect the future of several members of the MC. Rocking the foundation that their brotherhood is built upon.
Life is never boring when you are talking about a motorcycle club and the Hellions Ride is no exception. Tessie’s story is woven with tragedy and determination. Something that is the very essence surrounding Tessie and Shooter. Their relationship was absolutely perfect. Both characters faced tragedy and have now come together. Each offering healing to the other. I loved the way Shooter seemed to have the patience of a Saint where Tessie was concerned. His character showed extreme patience, trust, and understanding with his building romance. This story is a wonderful example of finding light through the darkness.
Two people with demons find their way to each other. Tessie has been burned and Shooter has dealt with too much loss in his time. One dreadful night brings these two together, maybe forever.
Shooter, Shooter, Shooter... I'm in love. When he says baby...swoon! Shooter has a demon that haunts him every day, can he find the strength to let it go? This man is loving, caring, sexy, and understanding. He brings the calm to the storm building up inside Tessie.
Tessie has always tried to go after one man but she soon realizes he'll never claim her. Being a young single mom, life hasn't been easy for her. One night her life becomes a nightmare until her knight in leather rescues her. Can a woman who has had so many wrongs in life finally have something right?
Merciless Ride is by far my favorite book in the Hellions Ride series. Five stars across the board. I'm not sure how Chelsea will be able to top Shooter but I know she will. Until then I will swoon over the man who made me love the pet name baby.
I think this was my favorite in the series so far.
I loved the maturity level the author set in this read. That alone set an excellent tone to an already good story.
Shooter was an awesome H. He was strong for the h. He protected her and helped her before and after he SAVED her.
***The graphic-ness used for what our h went through was brutal. The act alone was brutal enough, but the details made it a definite trigger scene for those that can't handle rape of the h.
These two were kind of a surprise couple. They never really took notice too much of each other in previous books. However, once Shooter got his chance, he took it - and wasn't going to give it up for anyone - not even a Brother.
There were a couple surprises that I didn't see coming, which really took the story from basic biker romance to terrific biker romance. It's hard to do that these days with the 1,296,327.254 reads we have in the biker section of romance.
I do recommend you read the previous two books before this one - though it isn't a must. It will just help better relate who's who. However, no matter how you choose to do it - just do it. You'll be missing out if you don't.
Shooter that boy is so caring, "baby, I don't know if he's alive. I shot him twice in the legs. I didn't want to risk you, so I only injured him enough to get you outta there." He's not stupid, "I know you're awake, baby," Shooter says without moving under me. His arms are still casually slung over me like we sleep together all the time." Sometimes the boy has to calm it down but it's hard to do around Tessie, "eff, I can't think like this. Calming my chub from becoming a tent in my jeans, I try to think of kittens, turtles, hell, snakes, spiders." When it comes to his woman's safety that boy will move hell and high water but he always calmly speaks to her no matter the situation, "go inside, baby," Shooter instructs calmly. "It's all gonna be okay. Stop crying, please. Go check on Axel; make sure he didn't see any of this." I love this series and I'm always looking forward for the next book.
This is My ZON Review...... :-) This is another great ride........ A Sad Sweet then Tortured that's there souls that's how they feel.. you really feel it too.. but they both need & fell for each other.. there's the sweet again... there's some Heart Stopping Moments , that you feel your self chanting .. come on come on someone please, Shooter let it be you...your reading intently waiting .. He's .... & how the Hell did Tessie keep that Dam secret... So There You Go You Need to Find Out now... It's Hot.. Great Story, Awesome Writing... What's Stopping You... Get One Clicking People............ :-)
5 Stars from Sammy's Book Obsession! I'm having so much fun reading this series that I'm finding it difficult to stop between books to write the reviews! I have to make myself though, because they're all so different and I don't want to mix anything up. As all of Chelsea Camaron's books, this one is very well written. The characters are again, people you feel like you know. I loved getting to know Shooter and Tessie better! There are some secrets that come out in this one. One I had already predicted ;) I'm not telling though. I'm so looking forward to everything else this series will bring! If you love Bikers, you need to read this series!
Merciless Ride was so much more to the MC genre. Chelsea Camaron still kept with the tradition of bring a character driven story while give an MC romance fan like me all the drama and suspense that their world encompasses. Merciless was different from he previous books. It had all the action I missed from the previous two AND kept all the good stuff I loved about them.
Shooter is stealth. Shooter is the man in the shadows. He is the mystery that keeps you needing more.
How HOT is that? That about sums up Shooter except nowhere in that quote does it mention his tenderness, kindness, and heart. He had it ALL. From the moment he climbs off his bike, I was swooning over this man. What I liked about Merciless Ride was that his character was a complete surprise. Because he's from the charter that Tripp is the Prez for, so other than Rex, his guys aren't known like the national chapter where the previous books took place.
We all meet Tessie in One Ride when Tripp and Rex take Doll and Sass with them to their hometown. Tessie is the waitress and the local bar they frequent and an on again, off again "barfly" that Rex enjoys. But she's nothing like the others. She's a hard working single mother. She's proud and determined to make her own way in life. She was someone to look up to and I was fascinated by her strength. No matter how many times she got knocked down, she didn't let it keep her down. It's like she got back up, dusted off and went back to it. Even after a horrible ordeal, she wants to just get back on the horse and return to her usual day... but Shooter makes sure she rests and takes such amazing care of her. *swoon*
And Tessie's son, Axel? Uber cute alert!! At such a young age, he was already demonstrating alpha tendencies when it came to protecting his mom. So. Fricking. Adorable!!
I've been listening to audio books at night to fall asleep instead of watching Netflix. This was definitely a real life fiction type of deal. Very triggering at some parts for people who have gone through it. Overall the ending was nice and I enjoyed it
I noticed something different I’ve never heard in any of the other installments… There aren’t very many contractions. Unfortunately, this often made the internal and verbal dialogue sound very stunted and choppy. I also noticed that the club guys have “sermon“. Did you mean church Chelsea? A sermon is, “a religious discourse delivered in public usually by a member of the clergy as a part of a worship service” OR, “a speech on conduct or duty”. I am pretty sure she meant to call at church or something else… other than that, it’s a decent story! Short and to the point, but good.
Book 3 in the Hellions Novel series, this book could be read as a standalone however I do recommend reading books 1 and 2 to give you a little more of the character's back stories.
I am going to cut to the chase before I go any further into this review. This is NOT Rex's story. To fellow fans of the Hellions series I am sure this will disappoint you as much as it did me. Let me assure you though that this story does feature our Crew's cousins quite heavily as we are back at the Catawba Chapter of the Hellions MC and it is another adventurous ride of love, secrets and hope.
This is Shooter and Tessie's story; Tessie you will remember from Forever Ride as the barmaid at Ruthless, the local hangout for our Catawba bikers. Having had a long sexual relationship with club VP and infamous man-whore Rex; when her car fails her Tessie finds herself stranded and unwilling to contact him for help. Reaching out to Doll, Tripp, the club President and Rex's cousin's Ole lady, she soon realises that when club member Shooter arrives that once again she has been turned over and let down by Rex in favour of whoever is warming his bed tonight. It reinforces her belief that the relationship they have or lack of as the case maybe is at an end and its time to move on for herself, her family but most importantly for the son she works so hard to provide for single-handedly due to the lack of a father in his life.
Shooter, club member, mechanic and ex-special forces floats through life haunted by the ghosts of his past. When he comes to Tessie's rescue once to often, he finds himself feeling protective of this amazing single mother who has had a shit hand dealt her in life and who has been disrespected and let down time and time again by his club's VP. When he steps in with his club offering her his protection, both their lives may change forever and when secrets come to light will his loyalties be with his club brothers? or with the woman that has lighted up his life?
So After my initial disappointment at this not being Rex's book, I have to say I really enjoyed the third instalment from our Hellion friends. I was confused at the start as to why we weren't reading about the infamous VP; having now read this book, I completely understand why the author has written this book first. It answers many questions, fills in a lot of gaps and certainly sets up the next book brilliantly. Don't mistake my previous statement though, this book isn't a filler; it is an important stepping stone in the rides we are taking with the Hellions.
Once again I found Chelsea's skill at creating interesting characters and having you the reader invested in them exceptional. Tessie is this strong woman who is selfless but has certainly made mistakes over the years. Shooter, well he is the bomb... I loved him. Seriously effected by events in his past, he becomes a rock for Tessie and a important male role model for her son Axel. In return she bathes his life in a light that was switched off many years ago.
To hardcore MC fans, your not going to get real deep grit and darkness, but you will get a great love story with a backdrop of Alpha bikers and their woman. Once again she introduces characters from other author's series' and these one's are upcoming, so I will look forward to jumping on them when they are released.
So onto Rex, it's gonna be a goody and I am super excited to see where Chelsea takes him. Wherever that maybe it's certain to be a wild ride.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely LOVE the Ride series and all The Hellions MC…Chelsea Camaron writes some deeply satisfying stories of the rough tough men who ride and the women who they love and protect. Tessie is a petite but strong woman who works hard at Ruthless, the bar hangout for The Hellions and other biker clubs. She has a day job, a disabled mom and a little boy to take care of…so much on her plate to juggle and yet she does it with strength and grace. But as she says many times in this book , “Mercy is no friend of mine. Karma, she has yet to show kindness to me” and that is the truth of what she and other characters have to go through before they find peace. When the Desert Ghosts MC rides into town, they bring trouble and what seemed to be a simple life for Tessie turns into a nightmare for survival (both physically and emotionally). Her “rescue” from outside forces leave her battered and confused and terrified that her biggest secret will come to light. Andy, known as “Shooter” to his club does not have warm feelings for his MC brother “Rex” when it comes to how he treats the sweet Tessie…Rex has had an ongoing "love her and leave her" thing with Tessie for years and Shooter knows she deserves better than that…but it needs to be Tessie that makes a choice whether or not to accept her place in Rex’s life or kick him to the curb. Andy himself has been dealing with loss…a loss so great that he has retreated into himself and his sadness for so long that it looks like he will never recover. PTSD figures prominently in this book as well…both for Shooter and for Tessie and it is a beautiful thing when light can emerge from darkness…although the road to get there is hard fought by everyone. There is so much action in this book between the MCs as they go to war over someone who unwittingly becomes property of the Hellions and between the huge secrets being kept, the misperceptions of feelings and the animosity between brothers, it is a wonder anyone will survive this merciless ride. I loved the maturity of how the relationships between Tessie and Shooter and Rex were handled (sure there will be blood before all is settled) and the coming together of brothers as family and friends for the “better good” and for the sake of the innocents. This was a strong family oriented biker drama, with a sweet and at times passionately scorching romance, violent club business and a wonderful HEA that I hoped would happen but wasn’t sure which direction things would ultimately go. If you liked the first books in this series, you will not be disappointed with this one as I feel the author has stepped it up a notch yet again.
***** 5 ***** “a ride for survival that becomes a ride for love and complete fulfillment” stars
Merciless Ride (Hellions Ride #3) By: Chelsea Camaron 4/5 stars
Tessie Harlow has worked at the bar Ruthless which is the main bar that the Catawba chapter of the Hellions hang out in. We saw her in book 1, One Ride, where she is just a fall-back hookup for Tripp’s (Doll’s old man) cousin Rex. But she knows that Rex isn’t into commitment and that the only thing he’ll ever actually give her is sexual pleasure.
Andy “Shooter” Jenkins is a patched brother of the Catawba Hellions charter. A former Army Ranger Sniper, he prospected at the MC after he his discharge. With his Army career, he had to do many things in service of his country. But someone from his past always told him that there was a darkness to his soul and a poison to those he loved.
Shooter ends up bailing out Tessie when she has car problems and from there his help just continues. He admires Tessie for several reasons. For one, she always accepted Rex the way he came, as the man he was. Also, for the life she has lived, not relying on anyone but herself, her mom and her aunt. Because of this she really doesn’t want his help and tries to refuse, but that is one thing that he won’t allow her to do.
When Tessie finds herself in need of protection, it’s Shooter who steps up to the plate, taking on the protection and care of her, her son and her mother. Shooter & Tessie’s non-friendship, non-relationship starts to become more, but the progress is slow. Tessie has to learn to be able to lean on someone else, and Shooter learns what a family feels like and doesn’t want to be a loner anymore. They are at least, honest and straight with each other.
We finally learn more about Tessie’s son Axel and why she refused to allow him to be around the club & why she didn’t want him to be seen & was overly protective. That little boy sure is adorable and I loved how he came to view Shooter.
I felt the ending was abrupt. I would have liked it to have read a scene where Shooter talked to or visited Fred and then also took Axel to visit him. It would have given me a little more closure on that subject.
Looking forward: I like how brutally honest Caroline was with Rex during this story. She pulled no punches. But this also causes Rex to be brutally honest with himself and others, it makes him face his life and figure out what changes he needs to make in it. With the way that that Rex & Caroline fight and annoy each other, I’m hoping their book will be pretty explosive.
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
WOW HOLY GOODNESS, I just finish reading this book, and let me just say that I love it, I love the characters, I have to say that I am a big fan of this Author, I have to say that I have read the first two book of this series and I love them. But I have to admit that this is my favorite book so far, I am gone tried to keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
If you had read ONE RIDE and FOREVER RIDE that's where me meet Rex and Tessie, in this book we finally get to know about their history, and the secrets about Tessie, and the dreams that she had before she met Rex, and the reason why she end up working as a bartender.
The story begging with Tessie, she is on the way to pick her son Axel up from her mothers house, when her car decide to break down on her, is two in the morning and she don't know who to call, thinking of calling Rex she decide to call Doll, after talking to Doll and Doll letting her know that Rex was gone pick her up, she prepared herself to face him, but when she seen the tow truck and the driver getting out, she was to expecting for it to be Andy ( A.K.A.) Shooter. Now Shooter is the one that she had always seen seating at the corner in the bar, always by himself, she was surprise to act the way her body was reacting to him, she did not know where the shy woman came from, after Shooter dropping her home and giving her his card, she couldn't stop thinking about him, the next day while Tessie was spacing out there was a knock at her door, for her surprise it was Shooter letting her know that she could stay with his car into her car got fix.
Now few days later Tessie is working, and she had closed the bar down while being in the stock room she gets hit with something, she goes through an accident that change her life, after the MC find out about what has happened, Shooter have Tessie her mom and her son Axel move in with her, but what Tessie was not expecting was to fall hard for Shooter.
I love the way how Shooter is with Tessie, I love it how he know when she is about to have a panic attack and he calm her down, I love how he take care of Tessie, I really love and enjoy reading this book, Author Chelsea Camaron THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN for this AMAZING characters and this AWESOME book love it. Cant wait to read the next book.
This is the first book in this series that I have read and I am so glad I started with this one because 1 and 2 will be that much better! I can't wait to read them!!
I have read a lot of MC books but this one takes the cake! It was written so well that even if you aren't a fan of MC books, it is worth the read. It deals with the same kinds of dark issues, but it is done so tastefully and perfectly! I loved it!! And it felt so much more REAL than any others I have read. This is how I imagine it should be.
I loved how Shooter and Tessie's relationship developed over time. She had been through so much but instead of dwelling on the brutality, Camaron reminds us that no matter how much bad happens, the good can help overcome it. Don't worry, the sexual tension is there from the moment the two come together. Shooter is my idea of the perfect man :) He is patient, sweet, caring, but he has that hardness to him that makes him a protector and able to live the life he is in. He has had his share of darkness and comes into this story not knowing what he is meant for or that he is even worth it, but he so is! Tessie is the strongest heroine I have ever read. No matter what happens, she keeps her head up for her son and mother. After the brutality she faced, she still lived and didn't lose sight of her purpose. The secrets she keeps... it shows how selfless she actually is. These two broken souls come together out of crappy circumstances, but the love that builds, the ultimate Trust, is priceless. I think that is what I loved most about this book. Both main characters were very real and there was no unnecessary drama. There relationship was built on trust. I loved that Tessie never hesitated to call him when she needed him and he was always ready to be there for her. There was no major "oh, what if he doesn't like me? What if I'm not good enough?" they just went for it and put their hearts out there. It was beautiful and intense and REAL. I really enjoyed the details about the MC world as well. Most books focus on so much brutality and darkness, but this wasn't all about that side, this was about the brotherhood and the willingness to protect your family, blood or not. This was just so so so good!! I honestly can't fully describe how much I loved this book! I will DEFINITELY be reading more from Chelsea Camaron! 5 HUGE stars!!!!
I received this book from the author for an honest opinion.
EEEEP!!! Shooter is a tall drink of water. Tessie is the such resilient character sooo how can you not love them. So this book was about two minor side characters and TBH it may be one of my favorites. I mean Tessie has HAD IT with Rex and his man-whoring ways so she never SAW Andy aka Shooter. Rex made sure the other guys at the MC kept away from Tessie but never really claimed her as his own. Shooter has watched Tessie from a distance for a few years and thought what a great woman she would be if Rex opened his eyes.
WELL, fate stepped in and help those two broke souls find each other. Tessie's car breaks down and who comes to help her out? Not Rex but Shooter. She is a bit disappointed that Rex couldn’t be bothered but not really shocked. Rex is Rex. Shooter is kinda smitten with Tessie right away. He goes out of his way to help her out but then realizes he is no good for her because of his past with his ex Tracie.....sooo distance is the plan
Again Fate makes Shooter and Tessie rely on each other. Tessie is assaulted and Shooter is there to help her through it. When the club can't help her because she isn’t "claimed" by anyone, who steps up? Nope not Rex but Shooter. The two start to live together and discover they calm each other and help the other through the rough times.
Tessie's little boy Axel is a whole other story...WOW...what we learn about his life and what Tessie did to keep her boy safe. She will do whatever to make sure her son has what he needs. It made me like her a whole lot more to be honest. When Axel's daddy realizes his responsibility and steps up to the plate I loved Axel refering to Shooter as his other dad too......made tears well up!!
I liked Caroline and her feisty attitude. She will not put up with Rex and so their book is going to be insane!! Rex cannot stand that Caroline puts it back on him for how he is viewed and his actions. Rex also realizes he screwed up a chance with Tessie and is looking for someone to love. I tell you this series is awesomeness topped with amazingness too!!
Tessie Marie Harlow has lived her life in between merciless hits. Her mom is disabled, while her dad fled his family a long time ago, and on top of that, she's a single mom to a very active little boy. She always dreamed about becoming a nurse, but after a spring fling in college gave her the gift of her baby, she had to drop out, and move home. Now she spends her time with her son, and nights see her serving drinks to the Hellions MC. Tessie has finally had enough of waiting for Rex to grow up, and at the darkest time in her life, she's saved by a quiet Hellion. Andy 'Shooter' Jenkins has always been around, but dealing with Rex's issues, she's never noticed him before. If all of her confusing feelings aren't enough, The Desert Ghosts MC are in town bringing new chaos into Tessie's life. Shooter is doing everything he can to protect her while a war between the two clubs starts, so he's spending his time in her day to day life. But when secrets are revealed, will Tessie learn to rely on Shooter to keep her safe?
Merciless Ride was such a highly emotional story, that my dramatic girly girl emotions went balls to the walls for days. The character development is fantastic, as these two demon riddled people found each other, and nothing was ever easy. Plus, the Hellions MC made for a highly entertaining and super sexy cast of secondaries. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this series, and Shooter has become my favorite, and I'm not sure if anyone can replace him at the top. Chelsea Camaron's brilliant writing style never fails to grab my attention, hold it hostage, and make me want to beg for more at the end. Her twists and turns were diabolical, which made this whole story a f-bomb dropping parade of EPIC! And there isn't any shortage of intense action to go along with the suspense. Again, I must reiterate that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series so much, and Merciless Ride only upped the ante! I swear I will go into mourning when the final story wraps it up, but I digress into dramatic emotions. I'll just end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY and certainly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Merciless Ride is Tessie and Shooter’s story and is my favourite of the Series so far!
Tessie has been around since the first book and we know her as the bartender that works at Ruthless where the Catawba Hellions Chapter frequent. We also know that she has been hooking up with Rex on or off for years however, she swears off of him at the start of this book.
When Tessie car breaks down at night on a dark road, she calls Doll to arrange a pickup and is surprised when Shooter, a member of the Hellions MC, turns up and rescues her. After dropping her home, he returns with his own personal truck for her use as he know she is supporting her Mum and son Axel. Tessie rejects the offer which sees Shooter convincing her he just wants a friendship and is only helping a friend out.
Tessie is then attacked at Ruthless by a member of the Ghost MC and Shooter once again comes to her rescue claiming her as his in order for the Hellions MC to be able to exact revenge on the Ghost MC for the attack. Rex was able to claim Tessie as his but he didn’t step forward causing anger from Shooter knowing that he has just been using her when he sees fits. Shooter is there for Tessie, her Mum and Axel while the Ghost MC member is still at large. He proves he is a stable of support for her and her family throughout this time and Tessie realises she feels more Shooter than she ever did for Rex.
I am so happy that Tessie chose Shooter over Rex as the two were obviously not meant to be together and she can finally have her happiness. Shooter is so deserving of this love after what he has been through and seeing him step us for Tessie and his family, melted my heart. They are a perfect couple!
Throw in drama, suspense, action and a surprise involving Tessie’s son and you have one helluva ride that captures your attention from the start.
Another fantastic read from Chelsea Camaron.
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Tanya.
Oh my! I loved this book! I love all of Chelsea's biker men... But I loved "Shooter"! You will fall in love with this amazing man!!!!
Tessie hasn't had an easy life. She always wanted Rex, but he always made her 2nd in line of his bimbos and bar flys but she took it.. Until she couldn't anymore.. Now as a single mom she needs to work and pay bills for her, her son and help her sick mom....
Shooter hasn't always had it easy. He lost someone important to him and has not gotten over the pain. But when he helps Tessie... something calls to him to want to help her....
These two together are amazing. You will be proud of Tessie and her strength to stand up for what she believed in, the way she handled thjngs and the want to do what she needed for her son. That being said, it's amazing to watch her smile and feel at peace once she's near shooter. It's amazing and makes you smile with her. I loved her character and her strength so much!!
Shooter.. Oh my! I loved this dude as much as Axel did. Shooter is an amazing guy. He's sympathetic, sexy, possessive and a fabulous guy. I loved how he took care of Tessie, guarded her.. Took thjngs for her... I just loved this sweet biker man!
This story is sexy, sweet and intense. Secrets have been kept, horrendous things happen.. But despite it all wonderful closure and acceptance happens and it's amazing to watch and see the transformations! And I loved that so much!!!
If you love a good biker book.. With sexy, possessive men, women who know what they want, smiles, laughs, sexy moments as well as pain... you will fall in love with this book as well as the main MC ;)
5 amazing stars from me! Wonderful characters, side characters,, just loved it!!! Can't wait until we get the next ride... That one is sure to be a hoot!!!
