Ok, I admit, I liked it. Though still, I don't think I'm the target reader, it's probably for younger ones, but it was nice, much better than the 1st one. Less plots packed all at once, more focused on Erin and her evolving relationship with "new" parents. It was warm and tender and I liked how they learned to live with each other. There was so much affection coming towards Erin that she wasn't used to. It was sometimes strange for her, but she was happy to finally have someone

This was a very solid second installment. The writing flowed, the story had a bit of mysterious edge to it as Erin finds Alder’s journals and a few reveals were made.

Erin is still getting acquainted with her birth parents, Sam and Julianne. Every scene that was written with these three characters was wonderful. Their bond is being built along with love, support and understanding. At school the bullies are still brutal and the whispers in the hallways are hateful.

Erin Easter never felt like she belonged with her mother Gina. Now that she knows she isn't an Easter, but is the daughter of Sam & Julianne Alderman, she has a whole new life. She has been living with the Alderman's and trying to adjust to her new life, that includes a new boyfriend, new house, & new parents. The kids at school are still bullying her and trying to make her feel like she stole Alder's life. She has to deal with all of these changes at ho

Weston is one big wonderful swoonfest of sweetheart who melts your heart! ❤️
Happenstance 2 is the continuation of Erin and Weston's story. In this chapter of the series Erin adjusts to all the big changes that are happening in her life. Weston is there for her every step of the way always loving and supporting her. In true McGuire style Jamie throws in a twist and a secret that you don't see coming. Will it tear them apart or bring them closer together? I won't give anything away but this novel

So, as most people know, I loved the first installment of Happenstance. I fell in love with the story, Erin, and of course, Weston. YA is my favorite genre, so I had high hopes for the series.

This second installment didn't let me down. If anything, it solidified my love for this series. I am an angst whore, and this book has plenty of it to go around. Just when you think everything is perfect in Blackwell, there's a twist.

Erin is adjusting to all the changes in her life. I think we neve

Amazing and beautifully written, like everything Jamie writes.
I love Erin's relationship with her parents. And obviously I love Weston!

Three Erin's, all born on the same day at the same hospital. They were all friends until fifth grade. Then it all changed for Erin Easter. She became the outcast and the daily target of bullying. What changed and made the other girls turn against her? That's a question that has plagued Erin for years.

After the tragic accident that took the lives of Erin Alder and Erin Masterson, Erin Easter tried to adjust to the new life she w

Happenstance 2 was fantastic! While I enjoyed Happenstance 1, I have to say I really, really loved the second one even more. The continuation of Erin and Weston’s story is so many things: fun, emotional, touching, moving and enjoyable. It’s a quick read with a great plot that will leave you wanting more. I love YA books and Jamie touched on some real life issues that occur at this age.

I was so impressed with Erin for many reasons. She embodies a strong girl who despite the many adversities life

Who is Erin....really?!?! Is she Erin Alderman or Erin Easter.....or is she just left in limbo? Everything is happening so fast for Erin she doesn't know which way is up. She is still with Weston, but keeps having her thoughts going back to..well he probably did this stuff with Alder.....then having him discuss things with Julianne and Sam behind her back. It is becoming too much. Then breaking Julianne and Sam's trust by going into Alder's room......only there she finds the journals.....and the ...more

At this point, I don't think Jamie can write a bad book....her writing is smooth as silk. Her characters are so real and inviting.. I loved Erin and Weston's continued story.... And I want more.

Erin is such a great, heartwarming , and thoughtful character...gosh I love her so much...

Of course I heart Weston and so will you... I have faith that Erin will get her happy ever after ;)

I loved it so much! Absolutely lived up to my expectations. Both the relationship between Erin and Weston and between Erin and her parents were very emotional.
Jamie McGuire is a genius and I can't wait to read the third installment!

This novella series is pure torture, worse than a cliff-hanger on a full novel and the lengthy waiting time for its sequel. That moment when you're at the climax of something so good and cut off short, it's worth a slam of the e-reader on the pavement—it sucks. But you know this kind of insanity only happens when you’ve found THAT BOOK, the kind which makes your insides melt and you just wanna stay right in that moment forever. Yeah, that sort of kind.

Erin is getting used to her new life and it's quite an adjustment in this second volume. Julianne and Sam are like the perfect parents for her, they dote on her, care about her, want her to be happy and they fully support her. They also want to know everything about her personal life, which comes off a bit much into Erin's personal space, understandably so. What's interesting is the contrast from Erin's life before compared to now, and not just because of things like living in a nicer house or h ...more

This is the second novella of Erin’s change of life. This book is as awesome as the first one. Reading how Erin’s life is getting better and better was so great. She’s so strong and mature and she always knows how to handle things. And now that she has two loving parents, Sam and Julianne, she can enjoy the life as a teenager, enjoy her senior year in high school, her boyfriend, Weston, everything. Until she finds out about something really bad that breaks her heart.

I absolutely enjoyed Jamie McGuire's Happenstance 1. For a novella, it was an enjoyable and very touching read. For all the bitterness that was the protagonist Erin's past life, there was a jar full of sweetness waiting to be opened when it came to her new life. I was looking forward to reading Happenstance 2 because, like it is with most good novellas, just one short and tiny story isn't enough and you have to know more.

Happenstance 2 was a good read, but just not as good as the first book. Th

I love this series and I have to admit that when I finish Book #3 I will be sad that it's over. At the end of Part #1 we discovered that Erin Easter was in fact the birth daughter of the Aldermans and that the Erin Alderman who passed away was Gina Easter's real daughter. The Aldermans, wanting to get to know their real daughter invited Erin to live with them and the book finished. Now in Part #2 Erin is discovering what it is to A) live in luxury and B) most of all live with someone who actual ...more

I finally got more of Weston and Erin! Even if some there was some hurt, I love journeying with these two.

It was nice to see how Erin was getting along with her family - Julianne and Sam. And I loved how Erin referred to Sam as "My Sam". So precious. Some of it was tough to read. Erin wasn't use to having parents and Julianne and Sam weren't use to not being parents. It was a lot of compromising and adjustments. They loved Erin and she loved them - but their new life was hard to navigate.

Happenstance is the best novella series I’ve ever read and Jamie McGuire is one of my favorite authors. I started with Beautiful Disaster, which I loved and plan to rave over shortly. I’ve read every book Jamie has ever written, and I’m anxiously waiting to read her next novel. I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to review one of Jamie’s novels considering I’m a mega fan. I thought I’d start with Happenstance since I read the entire series within twenty-four hours. It’s a super addicting read. ...more

Note: This is the 2nd novella in the series. There will be one more novella released and all novellas should be read in order.

Happenstance Part 2 was amazing and beautifully written.

Seeing how Erin's relationship evolves with her new parents was great. I really feel for her because I have no idea how I would react to everything if I was in her position. What I really liked about her relationship with her parents is that you didn't get to this part of the novella and everything was great between

I really wasn’t sure if I was going to continue this series, but I had a bit of time and was struggling to pick my next read and decided to see if Erin’s story would catch my attention.

Although I think I enjoyed part two more, as it was more character focused – I am still not sold yet on this series as a whole. We get to see Erin develop a bit more, dealing with the shift from who she thought she was to who she was born to be. And coupled with the relationship that is still growing with Weston

I love this novella series! I'm happy to say each book ends up making you feel good, unlike other novella series, you usually get left with a cliff hanger.
These books have a way of making you feel a lot of emotion. It kind of breaks your heart then puts it all back together again.
Jamie mentions in the back that someone encouraged her to write things that are hard to deal with and this book is definitely that. Bullying is a huge deal and a lot of times it get swept under the rug. People get treat

Erin Easter, now just known as Erin, is trying to adjust to her new life with the Aldermans. She's trying to be grateful but it's all so overwhelming. Going from having nothing to having everything in a matter of days would overwhelm anyone. And I don't just mean pretty things. Erin has never had a mother's affections, now she has two sweet parents trying to make up for eighteen years of love and gifts and rules. I've got t
