May the Goddess have mercy on anyone who tries to take our mate from us...
My twin brother Reeve and I have called Western State Penitentiary our home for the last ten years, and that’s not changing any time soon. We’ve made our peace with that and have grown used to our lives in the only prison in the country that can hold alpha predator shifters like ourselves.
These collars might keep us from shifting and using our alpha abilities, but even the ones in charge know they must do something to help curb our predatory instincts, or they’d have a major problem. So, they hold quarterly hunts. The prison is locked down, our collars are turned off, and some unfortunate omega prey shifter is dropped in our midst. The poor thing never stands a chance.
Reeve and I are tired of these games and have no intention of playing. But then the scent of the newest prey hits us, and we immediately know he’s our mate.
Nothing will stop us from protecting our sweet little rabbit. It doesn’t matter who comes for him and what they try to do. Brynn is ours to care for, ours to protect, and anyone who tries to get in the way, all we have to say is, “Bring it.”
Ensnaring Their Rabbit is a standalone story part of the Heat, Prey, Love series. Each book features a predator and prey shifter finding their true love. Ensnaring Their Rabbit is an MMM omegaverse romance, and features twin wolf alphas and their omega rabbit mate. This prison-based romance will include overly protective alphas, primal play, scenting, nesting, knotting, and chase scenes. MPreg exists in this world.
Jacey is an M/M and Fantasy/Paranormal fiction writer. She's a Jersey girl through and through, and after a brief time in North Carolina, is back in New Jersey with her husband, two daughters, and her black lab mix. When she's not writing, Jacey is catching up on Netflix shows, reading, and most of all, playing with (aka chasing after) her kids.
Brynn, an omega rabbit shifter, gets abducted while trying to purchase heat suppressors from a shifty dealer, and finds himself smack dab in the middle of a prison hunt where he's the 'prey'.
There he meets his mates--twins Riven and Reeve, two alpha wolf shifters, who have avoided the illegal hunt until they catch his scent.
Their story was fast paced, chock full of action, with some unexpected twists thrown in as well.
Wasn't my favorite of the series, but overall solid.
soo i read this..😳🙈🔥 also kinda sad there wasn't any twincest lolol i knew that going in ofc, still, the twins's chemistry was lovely😈🔥
⛓️🐺🐺 » 𝒘𝒐𝒍𝒇-𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒚 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒃𝒊𝒕-𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒖𝒏𝒕 « 🐇🔥⛓️ -- that's it, that's the plot. lol no, it was a bit more complex actually, which was a nice surprise, and it was also kinda cute with a "magical", sweet HEA. wish the writing style worked better for me tho, but it was still an ok read.
Ensnaring Their Rabbit is part of the multi author Heat, Prey, Love series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. Please read the trigger warnings before you start the story. This is the story of twins Reeve and Riven alpha wolf shifters and Brynn an omega rabbit shifter. I couldn't put this book down once I started it. This is a wonderfully dark read. I loved the characters and action in this book. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
Decent premise but ended up not really enjoying the read. Deus ex machina saved everyone and things all worked out pretty easily. The world of shifters all seems pretty dark.
1st person, past tense, multi PoV Brynnmawr Barlowe, omega rabbit, kidnapping victim / prey for a prison hunt Riven Balthazar, alpha wolf, inmate at Western State Penitentiary Reeve Balthazar, alpha wolf, inmate at Western State Penitentiary
Read the content warning for this one - none of the potentially triggering content was detailed enough to be problematic for me, but everyone has different levels of tolerance.
This is book 7 of 11 of the Heat, Prey, Love multi-author collaboration. The connection between the books of the series is that they all feature a prey animal in the omegaverse, though the stories themselves standalone. I haven't read any of the other contributions.
I wanted to love this story; it contained so many elements that I thought would coalesce into a great story, but it was a bit of a let down. The characters felt superficial, their respective backgrounds were vague and as a reader I never felt like I really got to know any of them, furthermore their voices were so similar and Riven and Reeve were virtually indistinguishable from each other. It's a bit problematic when main characters are barely more developed that the supporting characters. The lack of depth make it difficult to get invested in the story.
The story was a string of fast-paced, disjointed events that just so happened to coincidentally set everything in motion and get everyone where they needed to be - it felt like they were constantly pulling rabbits out of their hats so nothing felt explained by anything other than magic. I really wanted more of an edge considering the subject matter and, if I'm being honest, I was desperate for an almost entirely implausible prison break orchestrated by the MCs now that they had found their mate. A great deal of the conflict is resolved by a secondary character, off-page and as such it never felt like Reeve, Riven, and Brynn actually became masters of their own fate so I was left feeling vaguely unsettled at the end of the book waiting for the other shoe to drop.
It feels very HFN, but I'm not sure if that was intentional, because the author plans on continuing their story, or if this is just how it is. There are big dangling plot threads surrounding much of the story that it feels incomplete and anything they you could sink your teeth into was glossed over; .
This was a relatively quick read and rather fluffy given the subject matter so I enjoyed it for what it was - a silver lining fated mates tale set in a rather bleak backdrop. The spice was spicy and I adored that Brynn, as an omega, and a prey animal at that, was no wilting wildflower and had a core of steel. I loved the epilogue but I'm just disappointed because the bones were here for a truly great, gritty, story that never got told and I kind of wish that it had.
The author has a Patreon and there is apparently bonus content available there; a DP scene between the three MCs and some kind of resolution between the twins' Uncle Zeke and their sister, Rella, however I can't find it. I hate this trend of making the reader jump through hoops to get the whole story.
Sidenote: Why is there only one MC with a rabbit on the cover when there are three MCs in the book? Not even a wolf in the background.
I was given an ARC and voluntarily wrote an honest review.
Edit: I read the 'family' update bonus scene and honestly is just leaves the reader with even more questions. I'm wholly unsatisfied with the completeness of this book and I still don't see the other bonus scene on the author's Patreon, it must be behind the paywall.
Two alphas who are also identical twins have been locked away in a high security prison for most of their lives. The prison is a cruel, sick place where the guards and the warden hosts hunts for all the shifters in the prison. They bring in an omega, turn off the collars that keep the shifters unable to access their animal form, and let them all out to battle and do whatever they please. The twins don't usually participate in the Hunt as it bothers them to do so, but when they catch the scent of the new Omega that got brought in as the bait, they know that they have to act immediately.
I haven't read very many books by Jacey Davis, but when I read the blurb for this one I knew I really wanted to read it. The aspect of the prison in this world was unique in the sense that they had the hunts for the shifters that were being held there. While the idea of it realistically is horrific, using someone as bait and then to be trafficked is messed up, but as a unique plotline...I found it to be quite good. And interesting.
The bond Reeve and Riven share is absolutely precious, they are each other's whole world, and when they finally get to Brynn they all make each other feel even more complete. Jacey noted this in the beginning of the story but for those wondering this book doesn't feature any spicy scenes between the twins. They both engage in spicy scenes with Brynn at the same time, but they don't engage in those spicy times with each other.
Brynn is honestly adorable, he's had to live on his own trying to do whatever he can to survive being on the streets. Even though he's put into a horrible position, he's still stubborn and determined to fight his way out in anyway he can. I really liked his spirit and tenacity.
I thought the writing was good, the characters each had their own personalities, and the story had a good flow/pacing to it. I am really curious to see if there'll be any bonus stories to this later on because of us not seeing some things get resolved. For instance, do the twins ever get to talk to their Uncle? And will they finally be able to speak to their sister who betrayed them? I hope there's some extra short stories revolving around these characters in the future.
I will point out that while this does take place in an omegaverse world, there is no mpreg that happens throughout the story. So if you were wondering about that, there you go. :)
New Review! Ensnaring Their Rabbit (Heat Prey Love) by @jaceydavis_author
I’ve recently become a devoted fan of Jacey’s shifter titles, unnnffff they’re so smexy and hot hot hot! I couldn’t resist this one! This series is smoking! And also, I love bunnies and wolves and exqueeze me but two alpha wolf twins fated to an omega bunny shifter?? 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵😮💨
Yes, it’s as hot as advertised.
But also, STRESSFUL??!!! Jacey WTF 😳 y’all just put me through SO MUCH HIGH INTENSITY STRESS!!!! it’s a good thing these three seggsy beasts got a HEA cause HOOBOY that was a LOT of stressful action (did I mention the FUGG OR DI3 SCENARIOS??????)
🤣 the stress we suffer for our book blorbos
ANYWAY Reeve and Riven are the SMOKING hot alpha wolf twins incarcerated in a maximum security shifter pris0n where an evil warden sets up an immoral quarterly hunt where the prisoners are actually allowed to shift into their animal forms and hunt a vulnerable captured omega to death. (Literally wtf! This world is SO vile) and the twins decide before the hunt that they will NOT pursue the omega because it is just WRONG and no omega deserves this treatment and death.
But upon catching the scent, they realize the captured omega (which they haven’t met) is actually their fated mate and when the hunt begins they’re determined to save the omega, especially since the creature is in heat!
The omega is Brynn, an unhoused bunny shifter who was kidnapped while trying to buy black market heat blockers, and he’s scared for his life up until the two wolves save him from rampaging predator shifters. He senses that they’re special and chooses to trust them.
Turns out they’re super hot twins who’ll do anything to protect him and nurture him, even through his heat, and together all three of them battle the evil warden, suffer through their torture, and miraculously find themselves the help they need to make a new life as the perfect fated Throuple.
Honestly, an enthralling read, but PLEASE read the tr1gger warnings!
Here's Jacey Davis's latest: "Ensnaring Their Rabbit." It is a part of the Heat, Prey, Love multi-author series.

I fucking LOOOVED this book. It was dark and twisted and a little dystopian, but it was somehow still so perfectly sweet. It was obsessive and possessive and protective and alpha-y. It was soft and submission and filled with trust.
But it wasn't easy. They had far too many obstacles and enemies to get through before their HEA.
Trigger Warnings: borderline-dub-con, trafficking, attempted assault, sickness, violence, and more.
This book is part of the multi-author series Heat, Prey, Love series. Each book is a standalone read. Each book features a predatory alpha and a prey omega. Though in this case it features two alphas. This is the story of twin alpha wolf shifters Reeve and Riven and an omega rabbit shifter Brynn. The brothers are in a high security prison for killing the person who harmed their sister. The prison has quarterly illegal hunts to let the alpha get back in touch with their animals. After ten years, Reeve and Riven have no interest in participating. They will just watch each other's back and keep each other safe. That is until they smell the poor omega thrown into the prison as bait. It lets them know that this time the bait is their fated mate. They will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. Brynn has had a hard life. When his supply of suppressants dries up, he is referred to a sketchy source. It is then that he is kidnapped and sold to the prison for the quarterly hunt. Realizing that he has no chance of survival without Reese and Reeve, the three work together to try and survive the hunt. This is their story. This book is very well written and easy to read. I loved watching how the three of them related to each other and the honesty between them. They do not have a safe road to happiness. I loved all the twists and turns along the way. I really enjoyed this book. I received a complementary advance review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. It is a great book.
Ensnaring Their Rabbit is Jacey Davis' contribution to the multi author Heat, Prey, Love series, featuring predator alphas and prey omegas. Most of the series is passingly dark, but some of the stories have strong dark content. Ensnaring is the darkest. First it takes place in prison. The shifter prisoners are the worst of criminals, forced to stay in human form by an electronic collar. Four times a year, the collars get deactivated so they can hunt. Each other and a prey omega chemically forced into heat. The guards and warden turn a blind eye to any crime and often alphas are murdered as well as the poor prey. Pretty brutal content. Twin alpha wolves, Riven and Reeve, avoid "The Hunt" whenever possible. But once they catch omega rabbit, Brynn's scent, they realize he's their mate, whom they need to protect. This book will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, with your heart racing. The action is fast, the pacing is fast. There's a few twists and turns which just add to the excitement. The author supplied trigger warnings and they should be abided by. Scary, dark fun. I enjoyed the story immensely. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review,
Oh my goodness, I really am a glutton for the prison trope. Add in a couple of hot Alpha wolf shifter twins and a plucky Omega bunny and I'm in heaven. This book was everything I hoped for and more. I loved how, even though they were both Alphas and twins, Reese and Riven had individual personalities and Reese was the more Alpha of the pair. It actually made their relationship work better and gave the two a clearer dynamic. I also loved how the author was able to convey just how intertwined they were, without crossing any lines - IYKYK. Brinn was perfectly feisty in his own right, and as the omega bunny to the two wolves, he was able to hold his own with them, while also retaining a bit of vulnerability. This story was chock full of emotions, a fair amount of drama, and lots of hot smexy times! Everything was balanced perfectly to keep the tension of the plot high and when it finally arrives, the HEA is like - whoosh, sigh, smile, happy! I absolutely loved this book in the Heat, Prey, Love series and highly recommend it. 5/5*
This book is part of a multi-author series, and it really delivers on the premise. A supernatural prison built to contain alpha predator shifters with barely restrained instincts. The twist? A quarterly hunt where a prey omega is dropped into the yard, and this time, the “prey” just happens to be the fated mate of twin wolf alphas. You can imagine the chaos (and the chemistry) that follows.
I really enjoyed the blend of tension, heat, and emotional vulnerability. Reeve, Riven, and Brynn aren’t polished or perfect, they’re survivors with baggage, scars, and a fierce need to protect what little they have. Brynn is especially endearing with his “why pick one when I can have both?” energy, and the story plays beautifully with that dynamic. The worldbuilding was a standout too, gritty but hopeful, with enough lore to make me curious about the rest of the series.
A few things felt a bit underdeveloped, like the unresolved subplot with the twins’ sister or the reunion with Uncle Zeke, but overall, this was a lovely mix of primal heat and soft bonding moments. Three stars for a gritty, steamy, and heartfelt MMM omegaverse romance. 🐺🐺🐇
Brynn is an omega rabbit shifter who is trying to buy heat suppressors, when he ends up abducted and in a prison. Now he's being hunted and two very nice smelling wolves come to his rescue.
Reeve and Riven are twin, alpha wolf shifters who are in prison. They don't deny committing the crime they were convicted for, just the circumstances surrounding the crime. The prison has illegal hunts and they're determined to stay out of it, until an irresistible smell pulls them in.
What I liked: 😍 +Good story +Brynn being a strong omega, no damsel in distress for him +Reeve, Riven and Brynn had really good chemistry together +Laurant +Uncle Zeke's present
What I didn't like: 😐 -Rella, no explanation for her betrayal only theories -Prison guards treatment -Carrying men "bridal style" and "breeding" reminded me of MF stories and took me out of the story.
What I felt was neutral: 🤷♀️ *alphas in omegaverse purring, it isn't something I like/dislike but definitely think it's weird for that to be a norm.
Spice: it’s 3 MMCs and omegaverse, spicy times are gonsta be spicy
Imprisoned twins meet their mate 3 POVs HEA Stand Alone/ Part of a series (Heat, Prey, Love)
Anything pull me out of the book: Nope
Extra smiles: Hurt/Comfort InstaLust and then fall in love Protective MMCs
It’s a shifter omegaverse with enough worldbuilding to be interesting but not overwhelming. The twin alphas are in prison and they save their mate when he is sent into the prison as bait/sacrifice. Then of course intense mating/sexy times occur. Then the twins have to figure out how to protect their mate and make a life for themselves and it’s all set against a backdrop of larger social problems that we, the readers, don’t really have to worry about because there are sexy times and an HEA. So everyone enjoys sex and love and dissociation.
Ensnaring Their Rabbit by Jacey Davis is an MMM fated mates story. I believe that it is a standalone. Reeve and Riven are wolf shifter twins who are currently in prison. Brynn is a rabbit shifter who is just trying to get by. When Brynn is kidnapped and sent to prison for a ‘hunt’, Reeve and Riven realize that he is their mate. They defend and protect him from the other prisoners.
I absolutely loved how these three met and how the twins realized that Brynn was their mate. I would have loved to have seen more info about how the omega trafficking ring was broken and who Laurent really was. What about the evil mage? I am also curious about the twins’ sister and Uncle Zeke (though I did see a note that there is a bonus scene on Patreon about them). That’s why I said I think it is a standalone because there were a few things that were not quite cleared up by the end. I did really enjoy how these three built a home (which Brynn has never had) together. It was a very pleasant story.
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review>
I'm a sucker for an omega/alpha story, and this novella hit that spot perfectly! The premise of it starting in a prison was different and extremely interesting, hooking me from the get go.
Reeve, Riven and Brynn were perfection together and I loved how even though the twins were both Alpha, one of them still deferred to the other and their entire dynamic was so interesting to watch 😈. Throw in a rabbit shifter in heat? 🥵🔥🫣. Spectacular!
I love Jacey's mind, it's a wonderfully devious place and this story doesn't disappoint on that front! I'd love to have more from this world, but I thought the ending was great and tied things up well enough, while leaving things open for more in the future if the author chooses! 💜
In a special prison for alpha predator shifters, twins Riven and Reeve have accepted their fate. The prison holds quarterly hunts where omega prey shifters are released for the alphas. However, when the scent of the newest prey, Brynn, reaches Riven and Reeve, they instantly recognize him as their mate. Determined to protect Brynn, the twins are ready to face anyone who tries to take him away.
I enjoyed this story with the two Alphas who found their mate in the most brutal circumstances. Thankfully a powerful ally was able to help them all to be together and achieve happiness. Lots of emotions and feelings as the three men met each other. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content set in the omegaverse.
So many comments on this one. I was soooooooo not expecting some parts of this story. Like the prey being a fierce as can be rabbit with his two ridiculously alpha predator wolves that don't take no prisoners. This was brutal, messy a little angst but all in all very good story with some very real human elements that happens to have shifters. I normally don't really read too much of MMM romances but I really love this series and shifter/omegaverse/mpreg is my thing so I gave it a try. Well I ended up giving it a 5 star read. It surprised me that I enjoyed it so much. Brynn...I loved him...so sassy and ornery but the right mate for the twins. Lovely ending, I would loved to have another book with three of them. Very Nice!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Brynn, Reeve, and Riven. A shifter omega and two alpha wolves. When they first scent Brynn, Reeve and Riven know they will do anything to make him theirs. Forever.
I love it!! This collaboration is starting off with a bang. I love omegaverse urban fantasy with shifters. I really loved mpreg as well even if it isn’t on page in this story. I think my favorite characters of this book is the twins. I guess you could say they were morally gray. They did bad things for the right reasons and when given a chance they were ready to do what needed to be done to protect someone else. They needed Brynn to help soften them. I can’t wait to read more of the collaboration and find a few new to me authors.
Brynn, Riven, and Reeve story was intense and packed with danger and adrenaline. The story is not for the faint-hearted as it has sensitive subjects, and reading the trigger warnings is a must. They had a very complicated and packed with challenges journey to their happiness, lots of people that wished them harm, and an unexpected help that changed irrevocably their life. It was intense, and we see another side of the people that are set to do everything to gain their nefarious purposes, as well as the suffering the innocent endure until they get to their turning point. It was an interesting adventure and I like to know more of the characters.
I was riveted and invested in these guys and their story from start to end! There were some unexpected twists along the way, some good, some not, and man, was it PACKED with adrenaline-inducing, intense action scenes & danger for all of them. It was a sweet fated mates tale born under hellish circumstances, and Fate seemed inclined to help them along a time or two when needed. The relationship grew as organically as possible in such a weird situation, but they took time to know/learn each other. Brynn is one feisty little rabbit, and I adored his spunk & spark. Sweet & steamy, fraught with danger, fear, and overall protective alphas, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down!
I love when wolves start to assert themselves over their human selves as they do in this story. Reeve and Riven’s wolves recognize their mate and there’s no way they’re going to be quiet about it. The first half of this story is quite dark but it’s great reading. The prison is a terrible place and they are all subject to the whims of some very cruel people, and once they find him, it’s hard to imagine how the brothers will keep their mate. There is an HEA but there are plenty of obstacles along the way. Very enjoyable story, with the prison part being quite different to other shifter stories I’ve read.
Reeve, Rivan & Brynn This was an intense story, well beyond what I had imagined initially. But very engaging and entertaining. While I hate that the brothers were in prison, I understand what sent them there, and why it didn't take their sanity. I feel horrified for how and why Brynn was forced there, but Fate is an interesting finagler, and allowed him the chance to meet his wonderful mates. The journey these men take is not full of sunshine and rainbows, but they weather through it together, and know they can't take their mate bond for granted. The men also find that there is some action happening behind the scenes that they don't fully know about, or understand, but also know that they need that assistance and support. I'm curious if there will end up being more storylines to follow this story; I think it would be fun as more of a follow-up than the short (but enjoyable) clip that Jacey provides on Patreon. I would love to read more about these three and their extended family, especially if it can shine a light on a few happier-than-not scenes as a follow-up to the intensity in this book.
I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
Rabbits have always been prey for wolves and Brynn becomes just that for Reeve and Riven. Brynn soon learns just what the wolves want him for and he just might be happy to give it to them. I enjoyed these three men and the journey that they go through. The story moves at a good pace and pulled me in right from the start. Each of the men have a strong personality and endeared themselves to me. It was nice to see the connection that the brothers have and how they connected to Brynn. Not only did I enjoy the main story but was intrigued by the supporting character and the brothers backstory, I would love to return to this world in the future.
God I'm getting tired of these "reviews" summing up the books description. I didn't read more than 28 pages of this before I dropped it. It seems we'll written at first but it doesn't give what the description wants it to give. I thought with them being in a penitentiary that they'd be dark, brooding, dangerous but honestly they seem pretty fake to me. Although I didn't read much so I can't give a final say, from what I could gather it just wasn't for me.
And the unnecessary cursing frustrated me so much. There was no need for it. I was able to filter it out as best I could (along with the over explaining) but I did get tired of it pretty quickly (as you can tell).
Living on the streets was hard for Brynn, an omega rabbit, but when a search for heat suppressants puts him in danger, he is now fighting for his life. Reeve and Riven twin alpha wolves have been imprisoned for years, when it is time for the quarterly hunt, they usually just shift and avoid trouble but this time they are fighting for their mate. This is a darker read than the others in this series that I have read. From the moment Brynn is in danger, the tension is high as you follow Brynn trying to survive. Throughout this book the will survive is forefront and I found myself engrossed in the story, to the point I was disappointed when it finished as I still had questions.
This story was so engaging and action packed that I couldn’t put it down. I loved Brynn and his feisty personality. He’s put in a situation that’s dangerous, unexpected, and complicated, but he’s able to find love and his home. Reeve and Riven are in prison, but fate brings them their mate who they need to protect and take care of. Even in their circumstances their relationship grows and develops. They are great together. If you’re looking for a story that is both sweet and action packed this is a great one.
Brynn, an omega rabbit shifter was kidnapped and put in prison as prey for the criminal alphas. Forced into heat by the guards, he was claimed as a mate and saved by twin wolf shifter brothers, Reeve and Riven. It's a fast paced book stuffed with mating, bonding and evil guards and the guys acceptance of a polyamory relationship. Brynn is in need of protection and the twins are driven by mating instinct beyond their control. It's steamy and dangerous in the right combinations in what seemed to be an original idea to me. I received a copy of this and this is my voluntary opinion.
This story was enjoyable to read and left you feeling the feelings and the love. Even though this got heat and spice it has a variety of emotions leading to an interesting twist and even a happy future. The author shows how these characters grew in their knowledge, beliefs, and love. Can the wrong side of the tracks truly become the right, when truths are told and feelings are ranging maybe they can. This author again pulls you in for the feels as well as the heat. Letting fate lead the way let these men ensnare your interest if not a tiny piece of your heart.
