Sweet Alps Mates

What a Croc

Rate this book
You're never too old to fall in love.

Robert Cooper

Life in Sweet Alps was my chance to rebuild my life after I walked out of my unhappy marriage. I was getting to know my son again, spending time with my granddaughter, and just enjoying a peaceful life. Well, I was, until he walked in. The alpha who was far too sexy and way too young for this, um, mature omega. I was reeling from discovering I had a fated mate at my age and somehow ended up agreeing to one date with him just to prove we weren't a good fit. Fate had other plans. My heat interrupted dinner and now, I'm expecting a baby with the croc alpha!

Jackson Sobek

After losing my mate and becoming a single dad, I was going through the motions of my life. A new job in a new town was my chance to hit the reset button. Imagine my surprise when the sexy older omega at my son’s daycare turns out to be my fated mate! Now I just need to convince Robert that fate doesn’t make mistakes, and I think he’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Despite Robert’s protests, my croc and I know what we want, and we want him!

What A Croc is an MM omegaverse, Mpreg book featuring an older gazelle omega, an adoring croc alpha, a cute kid, knotty heat, an unexpected pregnancy and a HEA.

TW/CW: Please note that while this book is mostly fluff, there are some sensitive topics talked about that may be triggering to some readers. Loss of a spouse, pregnancy loss, emotional abuse from a spouse, and low self-esteem are discussed on page. Please make choices that are best for you.

Please note this was originally published as part of the Heat, Prey, Love collaboration and no content has been changed from the original story.

Raiven Matthews lives in the Mid-West, with her very spoiled cat, Declan. An avid reader from a young age, she discovered MM romance while reading fan fiction, and never looked back. Her days are fueled by lots of coffee and cuss words, and often plots her books on her commute to her RL job. She has always believed in happily-ever-after, but she was always the girl with follow-up questions. What happened when Cinderella put on that shoe and rode off to the castle? What came after Beast turned into a handsome prince? While she loves when her characters fall in love, she also believes in sprinkling in a big dose of reality, and real-life situations, (even if she is writing omegaverse mpreg) to get there.

3.5 ⭐️

Newly divorced Robert meets his fated mate, a much younger widowed single father, while working at his son’s daycare center.

Jackson is sweet and kind, but Robert has a lot of hang ups about their pairing—namely how much older he is than Jackson.

Fate has other plans though and Robert unexpectedly goes into heat, something he mistakes for hot flashes given his age, while out on a date with Jackson.

But fate isn’t done with them and gives them an even bigger surprise—a baby.

Honestly, this was cute as shit.

What to expect:
- crocodile + gazelle shifters
- fated mates
- age gap
- single dad(s)
- mpreg

Read in another great buddy read with the always lovely Lilly ❤️

Wyatt's father, Robert, 49, finally gets his love story he deserved, and it was adorable and wonderful.

After Jackson, 35, moves to Sweet Alps from across the country for a new start, years after his mate died and he was left with their infant son, now 4, they meet when he drops his son off at the Wyatt's daycare, where Robert is now working after he left his horrible wife about a year or so ago and moved out to Sweet Alps himself.

Robert's divorce is finally finalized, but also he's apparently starting the beginning stages of going through the "omega change" at his age, which is basically menopause in the omegaverse world. So he thinks his child bearing days are over.

But when Jackson and Robert meet, they know they're fated mates right away, and Robert is a bit resistant at first, think he's too old for him and he can't give him what he needs, i.e. children.

But Jackson is all in from the start, and doesn't care about Robert's age - he actually likes older omegas - or that they can't have children. He has Aiden, his son and he's content with that. He wants to be with Robert more than a want of children.

Robert agrees to one date with Jackson, though, to try to explain why they wouldn't work, but instead goes into heat, and of course these two spend Robert's fated mate induced heat together. Jackson is able to get condoms, but only after their first rushed time - of course ;) - so of course, not long after they spend Robert's heat together, Robert ends up pregnant.

I did enjoy these two together and Jackson was so so sweet with Robert, and Robert deserved that after having to deal with the mentally, emotionally and verbally abusive ex-wife of his. They had good chemistry and they were a very solid, sweet couple.

I guess my reason for a star off was the somewhat lack of plot. Like it was there, but it was very weak, in my opinion. There was a thread of possible plot with Levi's (Jackson's now deceased mate) mother being a bit much, but that was over as quickly as it began.

There was a nice scene where Robert was finally able to tell his ex-wife to fuck off, basically, and stand up for himself after many years of not doing so, and that was lovely to see.

And of course I loved the mpreg aspect of it - although maybe it happened perhaps a bit too late (or in actuality, this could have been a bit longer to linger on it, with maybe a complication during the pregnancy or delivery, maybe? Robert was 49/50 through the pregnancy, after all. That could have been interesting drama to see, but no drama happened with the mpreg itself.

So while I adored these two, the mpreg, Aiden who was adorable and sweet and getting to see all our faves from the Sweet Alps series and all their adorable families, there just wasn't quite enough for there to feel like there was much of a plot, so some points off for that.

Even a plot thread with Wyatt, who he and Robert are just starting to patch things up and form a real relationship after so long, didn't go too far. I appreciated what we got, but we could have had more of it.

So yeah, this is still solid overall and I enjoyed it, it just could a bit more work into the plot, is all. Otherwise, a very enjoyable read and I can't WAIT for this author's new spin off series. This author is amazing at mpreg stories and I hope she never stops them (*wink**wink*).

So I can't wait for the next installment in this Sweet Alps universe, I'm obsessed!

Until then! 😘

This story was fluffy goodness. I have read the other stories in the Sweet Alps Mates series and I was glad to see that Robert got his own story too. There wasn't a lot of drama, there was plenty of tender, sweet moments, and an adorable happily-ever-after...what more could I ask for.

I really liked that Jackson was someone new to Sweet Alps. Their romance is slightly insta, which isn't a surprise given that they are fated mates. But I really liked how Jackson and Robert built a foundation and got to know each other. I was also delighted to see Wyatt and Robert mend their relationship further. In the end this story was truly the closure I needed from the Sweet Alps Mates-verse.

If you are looking for a fluffy, wholesome omegaverse with some sizzling sex scenes, this is the book.

Starting a new life can be very difficult. Starting over and repairing the relationship with your estranged son? Talk about hard, but now Robert and Wyatt are in a good place.

When Jackson Sobek needs some space from his motherin-in-law after his husband’s death, he moves across the country taking a new job that will challenge him. He wasn’t expecting to meet his fated mate when he dropped off his son at childcare. Robert can’t believe that he has a mate. He’s starting the Omega change, he’s a Grandpa, and now he’s fated to a younger man? Fate has to be wrong this time, right?

Oh my goodness, this book had me in stitches!! Raven Matthews is an absolute genius giving voice to the shifter soul within each mc. I highlighted so much of the conversations the shifter soul was having with the mcs’. The snark that both the Croc and Gazelle use is genius in my opinion. I loved how Jackson had his mind set and wanted to give Robert the world. I love the setting in Sweet Alps. That has to be my favorite part of collaborations. The authors build new worlds to potentially continue later or build onto an existing world like in this case. As a reader, I love this! In fact, I already downloaded the first book of the Sweet Alps Mates series and I’m looking forward to the Sweet Alps Legacy.

We're back in Sweet Alps! this book was a phenomenal addition to Sweet Alps, and it was so satisfying to see this side of Wyatt's Dad, Robert.

The moment we met Robert in Wyatt and Becks' book, I just knew he was sweet and kind and deserved love, so when he up and leaves Jane? I cheered so loudly, but I was praying for a story for him, even if just a novella.

Anyway, this story was 2 different versions of second chance at love and/or relearning what love means. When Jackson and Aiden come to town, Jackson is a shell of his former self, having lost his mate and Aiden's Omega father. But like any parent who is going through grief, he is putting on a smile and being happy for Aiden. Then the two worlds collide, the Alpha grieving widower single father and the older Omega who's never actually known true love... fate is fun.

These topics are dealt with incredibly well and with so much respect to both sides of the relationship. Robert is amazing and tells Jackson that he doesn't need to keep Levi's story inside, he deserves to be celebrated and spoken about often because he is Aiden's father, he was loved incredibly and unconditionally, and no matter what, he is a part of Jackson's life.

Then Jackson sees just how much damage Jane had done to Robert mentally, even though Robert tries to play it off, and we get to see Jackson stand firm in his love and devotion and worship of Robert. His immediate Vow to show and prove to Robert how stunning he is, how perfect his body is as it is right this moment, how happy he makes Jackson, and makes Robert see and acknowledge just how much love Robert pours into everyone around him unconditionally. Jackson doesn't laugh at Robert's fears, he doesn't make snide remarks about how or what Robert eats or does; he laughs WITH and makes Robert laugh happily, he encourages him but tells him if that's what he wants (a salad versus a milkshake) then he will support him regardless.

I received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

OMG...this was so good. Am I'm the only one who be keep glancing at the percentage amount read and be bummed when you see you almost done with the book??? Well that's me with this story and definitely others in the Sweet Alps series. The author has me fully invested with these wonderful characters. Especially Robert mannnnnnnnn...I had sooooooooo many feels for him. His ultimate redemption and second chance with love. So much deserved. And can I say his hot alpha Jackson was fate and the Goddess giving him all kinds of blessings. Jackson is the mate that everyone deserves and more. I love his patience with Robert...his willingness to show Robert he is perfect inside and out. Their HEA was just beautiful and wonderful. I really loved reading and enjoyed it immensely...didn't want it to end but hopefully I get to see them again soon in MANY more books to come.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

What A Croc is part of the multi author Heat, Prey, Love series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is the story of Robert an older omega gazelle shifter and Jackson an alpha crocodile shifter. I fell in love with Robert even though he was so stubborn but it was understandable with the witch his ex wife was. This was just an amazing story with cute kids, steam, and personal growth. I loved seeing cameos of the other characters from the other stories in the Sweet Alps Mates series. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

What A Croc is part of the multi author Heat, Prey, Love series. But this story as lots of cameos of other characters from the Sweet Alps Mates series. I just can’t get enough of the Sweet Alps universe!

« single dad »
« age gap »
« fated mates »
« gazelle x croc shifter »
« older omega x younger alpha »
« sweet alpha »
« mpreg »

Robert is newly divorced from his terrible ex-wife, when he meets his much younger fated mate when the alpha is dropping his son off at the daycare Robert works at. Robert questions Fate and thinks this young hot alpha could never be happy with a mate like him. Robert definitely has some insecurities and low-self esteem after being with his ex-alpha for 25 years. It warmed my heart that with Jackson’s unwavering love and care, Robert becomes more confident in himself and realize that Robert isn’t as shy ad quiet as he had been conditioned to be – he is quick witted and even sassy at times. I loved seeing him come into his own after being stifled for so many years.

Jackson is a widow after losing his husband. For so long he just didn’t feel, and just focusing on being a dad; until he meets his fated mate. Robert makes him FEEL. I love me a soft and sweet alpha. Jackson is so sweet, gentle, kind, and patient. He never wavered for a second and was so steady and true alpha caretaker balancing taking care of his son as well as his mate.
I really loved Jackson and Robert together and how Robert fit effortlessly into the family, Aiden accepting him automatically. It was so sweet how Robert never got jealous about Jackson’s love for his late-husband and wanted to unsure honor the man who loved Jackson before he could.

It was beautiful to see Robert and Wyatt heal their relationship and become closer as Pops and son. I loved seeing Robert finally sticking up for himself, with Wyatt’s support and love.

Gimmie more Sweet Alps! I’ll never get enough!

[I received an ARC of this book from the author, and this is my honest review.]

When Raiven told me that Wyatt's dad Robert was going to get his very own HEA I was totally psyched! I can't even imagine how miserable the poor man had been for years being married to that witch of his ex wife. I loved seeing how content he was working at the daycare and spending time getting to know his son and grandchild. You could absolutely tell that if it had been up to Robert, he would have been front and center in the raising of Wyatt. It's so tragic that Wyatt's mother had to be the evil woman she was.

Enter alpha Jackson who arrives in Sweet Alps ready for his new start with his son. And what do you do when you move with a small child for a new job? Well you sign them up for daycare of course! It made me so happy to see Jackson willing to immediately want to get to know the man fated for him. It showed that even though he had lost his beloved husband, he still knew he had love to give to the man fated to him.

"𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞."

Robert took a bit longer to get into the headspace where he was willing to hear out his much younger fated mate. After years of verbal abuse from his ex wife, Robert didn't have the greatest self -esteem. He struggled to process what he, as an older omega, could possibly bring to the relationship. Thankfully, Jackson was not to be deterred. He was constantly making sure Robert was comfortable and reassuring him of his worth. Jackson might be one of the sweetest alphas ever and thank goodness because Robert couldn't hold out against his charm for long! I'm so happy that Robert finally got his HEA after everything he went through in the past.

This story was super cute and just plain adorable! The way Robert and Jackson met was almost downplayed and I liked that there's wasn't a huge deal instantly made out of them meeting. I liked that both characters gave each other the room to breathe and to sit with the knowledge that they met their fated mates. Especially considering both have been in serious relationships previously.

I wouldn't say this is a slow-burn necessarily but there IS some angst throughout the story, mainly because Robert has some insecurities to work through on his journey. This is a very high steam romance story, I think there could've honestly been less steamy scenes and this book would've still been great, but that's just my opinion. I still enjoyed the story regardless! I also really liked how Jackson is a crocodile shifter and Robert is a gazelle shifter, predator and prey scenario, not likely to pair together but they do fit together so well! Jackson is just what Robert needs! A steady, supportive, and loving Alpha who accepts him and encourages him when he needs an extra nudge. And Robert also provided all of those same traits for Jackson as well, their relationship is balanced and I enjoyed seeing them get to know one another better.

Aiden is honestly so adorable, his character was just as important as the MC's were and he was absolutely a bright light. I adored how accepting he was of those around him and how he cared about people based on who they are rather than on what others opinion of them might be. His relationship with Robert and Jackson was precious!

One last thing!! I LOVED seeing previous characters make cameos in this story, yes we get to see Wyatt but there were many more appearances by the other characters as well and I just loved it!! Overall a great shifter romance story!

New Review! What a Croc! (Heat, Prey, Love Series) by @raivenmatthews

This is my first title by Raiven and I was looking forward to it for months because CROC SHIFTER! I’m a total scaley so I was PLS YES I CANNOT WAIT! and this title did NOT disappoint! I’m adding Jackson the hot single dad Croc shifter with total golden retriever boyfriend energy to my harem of boyfriends. He’s LITERALLY SO SMEGGSY!

Ya got me Raiven cause I got hooked on your sweet and seggsy Shifter town and now I gotta read the rest of their stories… DANG A TOTAL GATEWAY BOOK. Ya hooked me!

Okay more about the ADORABLY fluffy book tho

So Robert is a freshly divorced gazelle shifter who has moved across country to live with his adult son and mate and their baby daughter. There he gets a job working at his son’s daycare, and life seems pretty good until a new daycare dad arrives and rocks his world.

From the moment he meets Jackson, they KNOW, they’re fated, but Jackson is super hot and 15 years his junior and Robert is in complete denial about their connection… nevermind that Jackson has a five year old son! But Jackson is determined to court him (so old fashioned!) and showers him in gifts (so cute!) and takes him on a date! And even though he’s nearly 50, the power of fate sends him into a heat and they shack up for some mind blowing hot and sweet shifter Seggs! 🥵😍

It’s nothing but fluff and cuteness as Jackson woos Robert, right up until he scents the change in his body and oooooopsie… they’re expecting???? And it’s a one way ticket to domesticity town as both men bunker down with very real feelings to figure out their fate together

You’ll die from fluff, cuteness, doting boyfriends and adorable friends and family ALL THE MPREG CUTENESS AHOY!!!!

4 stars

Gosh. When this book was over, I wanted more. This is the best book that I’ve read by this amazing author. I didn’t think I was going to eat this book up as fast as I did. One of the best omegaverse seconds chances that I’ve ever read.

I felt so much for both Robert and Jackson because they both have been through it. The life that Robert, who is a gazelle, had was horrible with his ex wife. The way she treated him and Wyatt, it was just awful. And poor Jackson and his son lost Levi, who had been his husband but passed away.

The way they meet is so perfect. I love how Jackson finally gives Robert the hope that not all alphas are awful and the way he cherishes Robert is so beautiful. The way he takes care of him and gives him the backbone that he knew Robert needed was everything.

The cute banter between them every now and then was super cute. I also love the relationship between Wyatt and Robert. This book gave me such hope that you can truly find that one person that truly deserves you. I now need to read the other books in this lovely series.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Robert Cooper moves to Sweet Alps to rebuild his life after leaving an unhappy marriage, hoping for peace, family time, and a fresh start. Instead, he discovers he has a fated mate — the much younger and very determined croc‑shifter alpha, Jackson Sobek. One date meant to prove they’re not compatible quickly goes sideways when Robert’s heat hits, and soon he’s unexpectedly expecting Jackson’s baby. Jackson, a single dad still grieving his first mate, sees Robert as a second chance fate has gifted him. He’s instantly drawn to the older omega and is determined to show him that fate doesn’t make mistakes. As the two men navigate new love, blended family life, and the surprise pregnancy, they both discover that you’re never too old — or too wounded — to find happiness again.

This was such a sweet, heart‑warming story, and I loved every moment of it. Jackson’s determination to seize this unexpected second chance at happiness — especially with the insecure, hesitant Robert — was beautiful to watch. Their chemistry is undeniable from the start, and Jackson’s devotion to caring for Robert shines through in every interaction. The family element made it even more charming. Jackson’s adorable son Aiden adds so much warmth, and the excitement around the new baby Robert is expecting gives the whole story a lovely sense of hope and new beginnings. A gentle, feel‑good romance about finding love later in life, embracing fate, and letting yourself be cherished. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG

What do you get when you take a sassy croc shifter(who is a single dad that is suddenly learning that he isn't as dead as his late husband) and an older gazelle shifter (who is learning about himself, his relationship with his 20 something son and he newly single life)?

You get the latest fun romp in the Sweet Alps saga!

Jackson Sobeck is an Alpha Croc shifter that moves to Sweet Alps to give himself and his son a new start.

Robert Cooper has been living in Sweet Alps for a little bit, having left his unhappy marriage. He is Living near his son Wyatt and repairing their relationship. He works at the local daycare and one day Jackson walks in to drop off his son and turns Robert's world upside down.

This story is about finding yourself after either a death of a spouse or divorce. How do you move on? How do you keep family close without hurting those that you care about.

Raiven writes a story that tackles big issues in a gentle way. With lots of snark, lots of drop in from our favorite Sweet Alps cast, and just enough spice!

Robert is a gazelle and the omega dad of Wyatt (His Innocent Omega). He's newly divorced from a rather unpleasant alpha. He's moved to Sweet Alps to start a new life and reconnect with Wyatt. What he doesn't want is a young, hot alpha sniffing around. But he can't seem to say no to Jackson.

Jackson is widowed alpha who moved to Sweet Alps, with his son Aiden, to start a new life away from a smothering ex MIL. When he comes across Robert while allowing his croc to play, he's immediately smitten. Now all he has to do is convince Robert.

These two are a perfect match. They have great chemistry and are very sweet together. Their story is nice and low drama. They both have things in their past that need settled. Robert and Wyatt are still healing. Jackson and Aiden are getting settled from a huge move across the country. When they talk to each other about their pasts, I definitely shed a few tears. Robert has to realize he's worthy of love, so Jackson can give it to him. I love the Sweet Alps series and it was nice to see the couples from previous books. Highly recommended.

Age gap, fated mates

I'm so happy Robert got his HEA, he absolutely deserves it.
After suffering through a horrible marriage with his ex, Jane he's finally somewhat settled and relatively happy.
He especially enjoys his growing relationship with his son Wyatt who he harbors guilt over his upbringing and allowing Jane to interfere in his being close with.
Jackson lost his omega Levi while their son Aiden was still an infant.
He was slowly becoming unhappy and realized they needed somewhere new in order to be able to move on.
When they meet at Wyatt's daycare for 5 yr old Aiden's first day, they realize they're fated mates.
Robert immediately is terrified and wants to reject Jackson because he feels unworthy of love and affection because of his ex's mistreatment of him and their significant age gap.
I loved that Jackson made sure that Robert knew just how much he was attracted to and valued him while Robert in return helped bring Jackson back to life.
These two were so steamy together and loved how perfect they were for each other.

I cannot remember the last time I read a book with an older omega and the first where one of the shifters is a crocodile.
Whilst I have the rest of the Sweet Alps Mates series I have not read them. However me not reading them did not have me feeling that I had missed anything and to be honest I did not know that this was part of an established series. Now I know I am going to rectify my mistake.
Robert was a sweet character, having divorced his female alpha, who can I say was a......... well I cannot say. Now living and working with his son, he was happy spending time with his son and granddaughter, until Jackson arrives in Sweet Alps.
This was an easy sweet read as I watched Robert fall in love. Jackson was the alpha that any omega would wish for, his caring nature was good for Robert, helping Robert realise that he could be loved. Showing him that not all alphas are evil.
I now need to read the others in the series

I love stories that have older main characters. Robert is an older omega who just left his, frankly, emotionally abusive ex-wife. He's starting to build his relationship with his estranged son, Wyatt, and building a life. Jackson has just moved to Sweet Alps to give himself and his five year old son a new space after the death of his husband. I loved that Jackson is a crocodile as there aren't many reptile shifter stories out there! Jackson is patient and supportive of Robert while Robert deals with his fears of a new relationship at his age. This was a really sweet story packed full of a lot of feels. There were a few tears shed as these two guys handled their baggage. I also thought the heat between these two very well done and Robert deserves to feel wanted and happy! Sweet Alps is a special place and Raven creates amazing characters who will touch your heart!

Whenever I need to feel good about love and relationships, I tend to pick up something written by Raiven Mattews-- and What A Croc did not disappoint. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this story and this is my honest opinion. This book was sweet, heartwarming, and funny (as per normal for this author). I am thrilled that Robert (Wyatt's father) got his own HEA-- and Jackson was a wonderful addition to the Sweet Alps crew. I also suspect this was Raiven's way of introducing new characters (i.e. Aiden) for her planned spin-off: Sweet Alps Legacy. Regardless, What A Croc was a quick and wonderful read, and I definitely recommend adding it to your shelf.

nice addition

This is a wonderful addition to the sweet Alps series… I remember Robert showing up with his packed bags at the end of Wyatt’s story and I’m so glad he finally got his happily ever after. Lord knows he deserves it.

Jackson is a total cinnamon roll, golden retriever, crocodile shifter, and the epitome of perfect mate for Robert.

Loved the later in life mpreg and the body conscious thoughts we all have as we get older… Jackson obliterated all of them and made Robert finally feel beautiful and wanted!!!

I hope we get more soon! Sweet Alps one of my favorite places to visit!!!!

When Jackson, an Alpha crocodile shifter drops his son off at his new daycare he meets Robert, an older gazelle shifter. It's as if he's struck by lightening when he recognizes Robert as his fated mate. This was a sweet, tender romance with Robert feeling he's too old, for Jackson, for love, for everything. Jackson is thrilled for a fated mate, a second chance and to find the perfect mate for him, even one with a past. I love these Sweet Alps books! I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.

Easy 5 stars!
Diving into Sweet Alps feels like coming home – a familiar comfort in my all-time favourite series.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Robert’s story for what feels like ages, and now that it’s finally here, I can honestly say it didn’t disappoint.
There’s just something about Raiven’s writing that always hits the spot for me. Whether it’s the perfect mix of storytelling, drama, or that signature omegaverse spice… it all comes together beautifully and I love it!
I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Robert finally gets his happily ever after after being stuck in a terrible marriage, and I couldn’t have picked a better match for him than Jackson. I absolutely love that Jackson doesn’t care about the age difference—he just wants to love his man. It was also so rewarding to see Robert’s relationship with his son deepen, while also building a bond with Jackson’s son. This book was such a satisfying read, and I highly recommend it

Jackson moves to a new town to make a new start with his son and when he goes to drop off his son at daycare, he meets Robert and as they shake hands they realize they are fated mated.
Robert is hesitant to start anything as he had a bad previous experience and the fact he is 15 years or so older than Jackson.
Robert does agree to go to dinner and in the middle of the meal he goes into his heat ad Jackson helps him through it.
A nice easy to read story.

Love, love, this story by the wonderful Raiven Matthews. Beautiful story, engaging characters all around and I just love Robert and Jackson's story. It was great to all see some old friends from her previous stories. I'm so excited to read her spinoff series too! This one was a great read from the beginning until the very end! II read an advanced copy of this book and this is my unbiased review!

Extremely repetitive.

I was so excited to read this, which made the disappointment that much worse. Firstly, the entire book Robert goes on about "being too old"—did the author not realize how repetitive and annoying that is for the reader? The second worst part was the constant internal dialogue. I wish there were more conversations between the characters so that their connection could be felt. The spicy scene was a 5 out of 10.

a Sweet & heart-melting tale of fated mates, whether Robert believed/accepted it or not, found family, family drama, grief and insecurity. And love, can't forget that part. Loved the shifter-side snark from both croc & gazelle, and the cute kids, and how protective and so caring, generous & loving Jackson is with Robert. LOVED the ending, (especially the naming thing & J talking to Wuatt) Excellent addition to this multi-author gem of a series

Cute age gap romance. I loved Robert’s character, the way he found his footing and finally stood up for himself and those he loves. Even though he questioned it, fate got it right. Jackson was the perfect mate for him. Standing by his side offering strength, support, and love. Their romance was fun to read.

Great Story

I enjoyed this story and couldn't put the book down. There were some really sweet moments. I'm glad I was able to see Robert connect more with Wyatt and see his love for his granddaughter. I liked that as fated mates, Jackson didn't give up on Robert, and I liked seeing their relationship grow. I hope to see more from this world.
