Programming Windows 95

Rate this book
This is the best-known, most widely praised, and most widely used how-to programming book on the planet. It is the one book that no aspiring or experienced developer can or will afford to be without. Updated for Windows 95, this Charles Petzold bestseller is now a 32-bit book with 32-bit programs neatly tucked into a CD. PROGRAMMING WINDOWS 95 covers the new Windows 95 concerns such as multithreading, GDI and OLE enhancements, and preemptive multitasking, but the book remains essentially what it has always been: the comprehensive reference and tutorial to the core areas of Windows programming. A guaranteed bestseller.

Petzold is THE name when it comes to Windows programming tutorials. Almost everyone cites "The Petzold book" as how they started Windows 3.1 programming. This version was updated for Windows95. While I wouldn't recommend it today, I learned more from this book than any other programming book, with the exception of Mastering Turbo Pascal 6
