A Tempest of Intrigue is the fourth book in the Tempest of Shadows series and should be read in order.
Ahh, this series just gets better and better! My mind blown has been blown! I was desperately waiting for this book, needing to know what happened next, so I read as slowly as I could, while also absolutely devouring it. But now I'm in a book hangover, and am not ready to close the book on these two yet. So, I’ve started a turnaround reread. It's just something I had to do.
I’m so happy to see Ryker and Ellery in a secure relationship with each other. Their love and passion is beautiful and they so clearly belong together. I loved that we saw their growth in the previous books has now shaped how they communicate. At this point in the series they feel like friends to me.
Speaking of, I know I say this in almost every review of this series, but I keep repeating because it’s so true: I just love Tucker, Ianto and Mouse. They are such awesome and memorable side characters. Tucker and Ryker’s friendship makes me so happy. We get introduced to a new side character in this one that is also unforgettable...
I really loved how the plot developed in Tempest of Intrigue, it really built on the world building and made me curious and excited.
The antagonists are so brutal, barbaric and just plain awful. The only thing I wish that was different in this book was that Ellery’s feeling after a certain moment was explored more, specifically that Ryker asked her how she was feeling.
Overall, what a wild ride with twists I didn't see coming! This story is full-on mystery, danger, action, twists and turns, and sizzling hot! You don't want to miss this book.

As usual Brenda K. Davies books just get better, and better. The brilliant world building, creativity, intrigue, and imagination is totally out of bounds. There aren’t words to describe how well Brenda K. Davies builds a story This book is a sit at the edge of your seat addition to Ellery, and Rykers story. They just can’t get a break from those Evil leaders coming after her powers, now that her identity has been revealed. Ellery, and Ryker will go to any length to keep her from being captured by the King, and Rykers father who is going to great lengths to capture her. But, can they? Will they? And, the cliff hanger ending is brilliant as always, keeping me begging for more.
Will Ellery, and Ryker ever be able to work together?
Trust is just too important to ignore. Will they ever be able to trust each other truly? They need a solid plan now that Ellary’s secret has been revealed. The King, and Ryker’s father will go to any length using the power they have to capture Ellery, and use her for their purpose. With so many twists, and turns at every corner, this book is just SO worth the read! However, with so many cliff hangers you want to start at the beginning, and read your way through to this book.
A series totally worth the investment, as are all of Brenda K. Davies/Erica Stevens books.

Absolutely riveting!
Idk what else to say? This is such an amazing series that I absolutely adore. Davies ALWAYS knocks it out of the park. She continues to blow my mind with all the twists and turns. Not to mention the old heartstrings. I get so deeply immersed that I’m surprised when I’ve found myself at the end of the page only to be grasping onto that hook with all my might!
Ryker and Ellery have been through SO much together. I enjoyed their journey. As frustrating as they were, I feel like it sealed their bond. Just when they’re finally confident in their feelings and their relationship, Ellery’s revelation puts her at risk and she becomes the hunted. Ryker will do everything in his power to protect her from all who want to bring her harm with the help of their found family whom I greatly enjoy. Ryker and Tucker’s friendship is solid. Ellery and Mouse just capture my heart. I love the humor Ianto brings to the group as well. As the Revenant Woods continue to reveal more mysteries and dangers, our merry band of rebels continue to lead the fight against their oppressors. I will loathe the day this series ends, but I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens next!

There are not enough words to express how much I love this author’s writing. Her mind is brilliant. The world and characters she creates in each story. She has twists and turns that you don’t see coming. We are introduced to more creatures in the Revenant Woods as our little groups travels the woods. Based on history, we know this story is going to pick right up where the last ended and leave us dangling on the edge for more. Ryker and Ellery definitely have something together. The love they share is amazing. Our little band of Tucker, Ianto, Ryker and Ellery are something special. This story is anything but slow-paced. There is so much happening that I keep having tiny little outburst all by myself. Brenda K Davies makes her villains as horrible as can be and her hero’s and heroines so endearing. You are there fighting side by side with them. When is the next book because I am very antsy to find out what happens next. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this story.

Ryker and Ellery’s story is absolutely mesmerizing from start to finish. Brenda K. Davies crafts a thrilling mix of romance and suspense that keeps you hooked with every turn of the page. The chemistry between the main characters is electric, and their individual journeys are just as compelling as their relationship.
The short chapters make it incredibly easy to fly through the book—perfect for readers who love a fast-paced read without sacrificing depth. I especially enjoyed the dual POV format, which offers deeper insight into both Ryker and Ellery’s thoughts and emotions. It adds richness to their connection and helps build tension in all the right places.
The only reason I’m giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is because I wish some moments had a bit more breathing room to develop. But overall, this is a gripping and entertaining read that romance and fantasy lovers alike will thoroughly enjoy. Can’t wait to see what’s next in the series!

In this installment we continue to follow the story of Ryker and Ellery as they fight to stay alive. This is proving to be more and more difficult now that everyone knows there is a female lightning bearer, but Ryker won't let anything or anyone hurt Ellery, including his father. Tempest of Intrigue is a thrilling adventure and I'm so glad I'm along for the ride! I'm torn between needing to know how the story ends and not wanting it to end! The story is so well written, I find myself so lost within the pages and feel like I am there , watching it unfold in front of me. I can picture the characters, I can feel my heart beat faster when they are facing danger head on. I read faster to match the action pace in the scene. You don't want to skip this series, it is filled with action, adventure, romance, secrets and lies. This version of Robin Hood isn't your grandmother's!

Brenda knows exactly what to write to bring us into her world and keep us there.
Absolutely loved this addition to the series.
We continue where the last book left off.
Ellery has revealed herself as a lightning bearer to save him. However no one will recognise her, she has made sure of that.
Will her power be enough to save Ryker?
They have to survive this, there is so much more that needs to be done.
She needs to work on her control.
They need to see how powerful she actually is.
The rebellion continues to grow but will it be enough when the time comes?
So much more in this book but I don’t want to ruin another’s experience by revealing anymore.
Can’t wait for the next instalment.

I am still wrapping my head around the ending of this one, but oh my is it a good one! The things that they all go through and I don’t mean just Ryker and Ellery either, but the ones in the encampment as well. Ryker is the only one that can calm Ellery down when her powers are so overwhelming for her. She is a power house for sure. Ryker trying to play both sides is no easy task, but he does it as smoothly as possible until it becomes time to show his true self. Ellery is very brave and strong willed never wanting to see anyone hurt she will always put herself in harms way if it means saving others. Which keeps poor Ryker on defense constantly, but the love they have for each other is breathtaking. At the end of the day war is coming now.

In the last book, Ellery has just revealed that a female lightning bearer exists and greatly sped up the timeline on their plans to take back the realms for Amsirah. With increased pressure to prepare for war and still protect the growing army and others, Ryker & Ellery learn that maintaining their secret identities has become far more difficult. When I tell you that I tried to pace myself in reading, I really tried but ALL of Brenda’s books are nearly impossible to put down. As expected, there are numerous twists and turns in the plot and a major bombshell. It took me a few days to come to terms with some of the unexpected events, but I’m more than ready for the next book! I promise you this… you will NOT be disappointed in Tempest of Intrigue.

LEAVES YOU WANTING MORE
Ellery and Riker’s relationship reaches new heights in more ways than one. The Duke continues to be a formidable foe, along with more people and secrets revealed that threaten their lives. Riker continues to do whatever is necessary to protect Ellery from everyone, even their followers. You continue the roller coaster ride of emotions throughout the book, and when you reach the end, the cliffhanger will leave you in total shock!! A MUST READ!!
The Audiobook is also SUPER AMAZING. Meg Price is a very talented narrator who does an AWESOME job bringing voices to the individual characters. I have listened to other narrators and Meg Price is by far, THE BEST!!

Another brilliant read by Brenda K. Davies. Like every other book I've read by her it picks up right where the previous book left off. Making it feel like you never left. Still, she sprinkles in a few lines here and there to help that memory along. The development of Ryker and Ellery's relationship and the way their powers develop further than either knew possible, just adds to the way they react together. It is a total life goal for me to have someone ground me the way they do for each other. <3 Then the ending! Another shocking ending that had my jaw on the floor and wanting to scream that the book was done.

Unbelievable continuation to the Tempest Series. Brenda K. Davies NEVER disappoints. Tempest of Intrigue is thrilling and moves at a fast pace. Ryker , Tucker and Ianto get help from an unlikely source but then encounter a new scary, deadly creature in the Reverent Woods while Ellery and Mouse are on an adventure, and I use that word lightly. There are so many twists and turns. After an unbelievably wild ride the end of this 4th book ends in a stunner of all stunners. I've read it twice to believe my eyes. Can't wait for the next. This one was unbelievable!!!

Cliffhangers are not my favorite, but this one is awesome!!! I’m going back and rereading this one as when other is close to release, I’ll refresh my memory. I always say Brenda’s female characters are no shrinking violets. They are strong, talented, care for others yet so kind and loving. And being a Lightning bearer, chefs kiss😘😘 Ryker is hot hot hot. There is sex, love, and sadness. And it all works well. You want heat, it is in this story. And if you want to hate bad people, there are plenty of bad guys in this story. Go, grab this and lose yourself for a while. Enjoy!!!!!

Phenomenal!!! Brenda K Davies has done it again with another amazing story with A Tempest of Intrigue! I love and I am obsessed with this series, and I believe anyone else will be too. Ryker and Ellery, their love and passion, their strength, I cannot wait to see what is in store for them next. Will they be able to save Tempest, will they be able to save themselves from what lies ahead? This book is PHENOMENAL!!!!

A Tempest of Intrigue is book 4 in the series and was amazing!!!! Each book keeps getting better and better with more suspense, twists and turns, mystery and emotions. Ryker and Ellery continue to face challenges but their strength, love and passion keep them moving together. Will it be enough to save Tempest? I have loved reading this series since book 1. The characters are amazing and the plot is captivating.

Terrific Continuation of an Excellent Story
Ellery and Ryker’s story gets even better. She has revealed her secret but not her identity. She must now keep from being found for evil people have truly evil intentions. Love the relationship between the lead characters but also their friends. The author once again finds a way to bring nightmares to life but also throw in a new twist that is not expected. The queen of fantasy has outdone herself again! This story keeps getting better and better. Just when I think things are going to go Ryker and Ellery’s way and they’ve got a head start on the nobles, something crazy happens! I don’t want to give anything away, but if you’ve read the first three books, you know this one is going to be a wild ride. And if you thought the last cliffhanger was intense; just wait. How will Ryker and Ellery escape this mess?

What can I say about book 4, A Tempest of Intrigue has indeed been intriguing. It brings both Ryker and Ellery together in heart, but still further apart. All of my favourite characters are brought together in this next dramatic instalment of their adventure together. You are left wanting more and scrambling to see when the next book comes out, because you can’t hardly contain your excitement and anticipation. I for one am counting down the days!

Left my head spinning.
I love the main characters that Brenda creates. I adore some of the side characters as well. But man oh man, do I hate her bad guys! She writes some of the best of the worst. You can't help but hate them. Literally not a redeeming feature amongst them , and I'm including all of her books in that. If you're on book four of the series, you're gonna absolutely love it!

Ellery and Ryker’s story gets even better. She has revealed her secret but not her identity. She must now keep from being found for evil people have truly evil intentions. Love the relationship between the lead characters but also their friends. The author once again finds a way to bring nightmares to life but also throw in a new twist that is not expected. I loved the story and can’t wait for the next.

I could not wait for this book! I even re read the first 3 to catch my self up again before diving into this. Ellery and Ryker are together and battling to keep her from enemy hands. Ryker will do whatever’s necessary to keep her safe. Even if that means he needs to play both sides. I had a hard time putting this down I was reading every second I could. This is the 4th book in the series so make sure you start with book 1 to get the full story of these 2.

The surprises just keep coming
I am loving this series. It is a page turner. I am drawn in and just when I think I figured something out the author switches it up on me. I love it! I can feel everything building and I am so looking forward to that day. Ellery definitely has come a long way and my hope is that she can destroy the true evil in the realm. Oh and let me say, this one had quite a few shocking moments.

BRENDA!!! Yet again, I am sucked into the world of tempest where evil currently reigns. Ryker and Ellery again face challenges they could never have imagined. All the planning and training, the resistance is growing as they fight the ongoing oppression with an unexpected ally. This realm has secrets and mysteries... I need the next chapter and the next...

This wonderful author did it again! Book 4 of the tempest series was amazing to read! Love the storyline and characters all involved! Ryker and Ellery relationship has come a long way since the first book. Looking forward to the next book and can’t wait to see what happens next! Definitely buy this book, you won’t be disappointed.

Well…that was amazing!!! The plot and story just keep getting more intriguing. I was so immersed that I never wanted it to end. This is a must read as Brenda brings even more wonder to the already wonderful world of Tempest. The book flew by and left me with a major book hangover. I can hardly wait for the next one!

Brenda has done it again. Ryker and Ellery are
strong together. This kept me once again glued to
the edge of my seat. I, however, did not see that
ending coming. highly recommend this book to all.
