This is probably the first real arc I've ever read for a comic series. This came out while I was quite young and still getting into comics. Most of the stories I had read up to that point had been one or two parters, and this was the first one that was a four-part story. I may be blinded a bit by nostalgia, I'll admit, but for me, this is the pinnacle of Green Goblin-centered Spidey tales. The first three parts of the story focus on the Green Goblin/Norman Osborn. They are written by Roger Stern and allow a very good comprehension about Norman Osborn and what moves him to do what he does. The last two parts, written by Mackie and Jenkins, aren't at the same level. Still they are very enjoyable and show a satisfactory confrontation between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. In conclusion a very good arc

Madman Norman Osborne has targetted Peter Parker and sought to drive him into madness. There is a certain familiarity about this Goblin vs. Spidey-- way too similar to the relationship between the Joker and Batman, especially in the movie versions. The Goblin sees himself as the opposite of Spidey and trying to drive Spidey into madness, to mold him into an heir to evil.

Pretty much a rehash of the Batman-Joker mythos with different costumes.

So grim, so much fun. Some great art by John Romita Jr., but also so much so-so art. Good read, anyway.
