I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.
Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report - a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.
Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material - and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, "Measure of a Man," in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.
Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota - it's where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit - I'm terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.
Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 -- and now we live in the beautiful town I'd always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings -- and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.

'We are Marshalls. And we are not alone.'
Sometimes you finish a book and you can only sit there and think about that book and just are unable to pick up another for a while because this one was so incredibly captivating. This is what Susan May Warren's books do to me.
Susan May Warren gives us, triumphantly, the highly anticipated and equally exciting finale to her Montana Marshalls series. And boy, does she ever give us a stunning ride! Ruby Jane does not disappoint.
'When all else is done, God is enough, everything and always.'
This one picks up where Wyatt left off and takes off with a bang and does not let up one bit! I was gasping, shaking, crying, smiling and giving thanks to God all the way through this book. This book way more than met my expectations. I thought after Wyatt, she just couldn't top that book, but my goodness! I was completely captivated the entire way. Warren has a distinctive ability to create a family dynamic that just totally works. She crafts her characters in such a way that they actually seem real and larger than life. I feel like I'm in every scene, pulling for them, crying with them and hurting when they hurt. I had to watch myself about to pray for them! All her family based books are so intense and fulfilling to read.
One thing that I love so much about Susan May Warren's work is her power-packed spiritual themes. I just feel that they are Spirit led and are so soul nourishing. It's not just reading a book and being entertained, but a truly spiritual experience, one that stays with you--moving you with a life lesson and a true blessing. At least, for me.
'When we cling to Jesus, we are changed. Reborn. We become who we were meant to be because there is nothing of ourselves left.'
This series is going on my Top Ten List for 2019. It is the absolute best series I've ever read and one that, as soon as I finished Ruby Jane, I wanted to pick up Knox and start reading all over again. Truly, this series has moved me beyond my ability to convey here. I very highly recommend these books and this author.

Y’all, THIS BOOK!!!!!! 😍🥰🥹🤍 I knew I was goner when York was introduced in Ford, but this book BLEW me out of the water. I could not put it down!! I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time I was reading it! York literally is my favorite MMC in this whole series (Ford is a close second though). I loved seeing him grow throughout this book and I can’t really say more than that without spoiling anything, but y’all my boy is healing! 🥺😭🥰
I love how much faith Mrs. Warren integrated throughout this book really made the characters come more to life. Also, the suspense in this book has my heart RACING!! I was so scared about what was going to happen next…SO MUCH GOES DOWN IN THIS BOOK! Also, there is one scene where all the Marshall brothers and York get kick-butt...I WAS HERE FOR IT! I literally was squealing and pumping my fist in the air. We love masculine men!! 😍😂
Ughhh, if you haven’t read this series, PLEASE DO! I literally am in love with the Marshall family and I honestly cannot wait to see what Mrs. Warren has next for RJ and York!!

This has been one wonderful clean-romance, suspense series. I loved each and every book and this one is just fantastic. The baddie and the correct conspiracy theory was hidden to the very end. It is just about everything I look for in a great read. You really need to read all the books as the mystery/suspense plot at the heart of this series starts in the first book and concludes here. I love how the whole Marshall family gets involved to protect each other and solve the conspiracy. York and RJ have a really tough road to their HEA, and I loved the gentle message of faith and redemption.
While on the run through Russia, RJ and York fell in love only to be separated, reunited and separated again. A fiery crash and memory loss divides them, but RJ refused to believe that York was dead and set about finding him only to realize that she may well have lost him after all.
York wanted nothing more than to leave his old live as a CIA agent behind. When he wakes up with no memories, he wholly embraces his new identity as Mack Jones, the small town and the father and daughter who took him in. But he can't seem to return the affection Rachel is showing him. When "Sidney" shows up in town, he is struck by how he feels drawn to her and when he confronts her, she admits she knows who he really is, and his past isn't pretty. Their attraction is strong and with danger stalking them, it isn't safe to stay. Now York and RJ just have to stay alive long enough to figure it all out. But they have a lot of help - the entire Marshall family.

Oh man. This was one jam packed conclusion to this series! I've been waiting for Ruby Jane and York's story to come full circle. It sure was a rough road there but so worth it.
All the moving parts come together in this series and I couldn't read through this fast enough. This has been such a fun series!

Literally just look at the characters, i had to pull up a damn notepad just to list the characters because there are honestly too much things happening in here and too many plots happening ALL NOT EVEN FOLLOWING THE SYNOPSIS:

Readers will have fun trying to pick a favorite Marshall brother or just loving them all equally instead! You can’t go wrong with any of these brothers.... or York! Readers can find the oldest brother Reuben’s story in Burnin’ For You from Susan May Warren’s Montana Fire series.
Susan May Warren is a master at writing incredible family-centered series that draw readers closer to their faith. She beautifully weaves the spiritual elements into the storyline as she shares the powerful message that God is enough and that we are loved.

The Montana Marshalls has been an entertaining suspense series. In Ruby Jane, loose ends are tied up for more than just RJ and York. The entire series has been a fun ride.

This was my 2nd favorite in the series, but York is my favorite hero out of all the guys. I was gripped with this read. My only problem is that there is an open thread. I'm hoping the Global Search and Rescue series closes the thread and answers the rest of my questions.

4.5 STARS!!!

Every now and then I read a book that when I close the last page, I just sit there. In silence. Contemplating. Ruby Jane was that kind of book for me. A smashing conclusion to the Montana Marshalls series, Warren brings it on with plenty of action, intrigue, romance, and a theme of regeneration that had me in tears. Her ability to show how a person who is utterly tarnished by their actions, words, and thoughts, and yet through the power of the Holy Spirit can be reconciled to God left me praising Him for his mercy and grace toward me!

Without any doubt, SMW is the best builder of a fictional family I have read. Each and every character is pivotal to the storyline and I didn’t want to miss a single moment with any of them. I didn’t connect with Ruby Jane in the way I expected but I think it’s because I was acutely focused on York. He is an amazing character and completely stole my heart.
The Montana Marshalls must be read in order to get the full effect and enjoyment. Literally each book picks up where the other leaves off. It’s an excellent binge read!!

Okay, I'm gonna do this without spoilers... somehow...
All in all, everything you'd expect for the end of this series: all the intrigue and bloody fistfights and fierce kissing and family, and a pretty ridiculous wedding.
I was grateful that the Raven drama wasn't overdone or lasted too long, and that York talked to RJ pretty quickly.
I could have done with fewer POVs... maybe minus Gloria? It made it all a bit much. It all made sense and was consistent with the series, where all the books were about the family as a whole, not just the person on the cover.
Caleb's sermon was a little odd but SMW was writing York's fictional story, she's not a preacher, and it accomplished the purpose for the MC.
I didn't understand why with ALL the brothers AND York in the room, they didn't neutralize the bad guys sooner (at the end).
RJ had the exact same issue as each of the brothers about needing to prove herself. Really makes you think as a parent how your actions and behavior really affect your family as a unit.

I have loved returning to this family of siblings time and again as they found their happily-ever-afters while also fighting to stay alive through various threats.
I was already connected to Ruby Jane and York as they were the secondary love story in the fourth book, Wyatt. After knowing how they felt for each other, it was hard to witness York’s loss of memory at the beginning of Ruby Jane. It was very powerful to see how things played out between the two of them. I loved it!
Something else I loved with these books was the way the siblings grew close again throughout the series after having drifted apart over the years. Bonds were rebuilt and in a way that seemed stronger than ever by the end of this book. I would love to read more about the Marshall siblings somewhere down the road and make sure all remained well for them, as well as be able to discover how a few things played out from a couple of the storylines.

Ruby Jane is a wonderful conclusion to a really great series about siblings from Montana and the way that they discover their place in the world, including their faith journey. Ruby Jane is the only girl, the fraternal twin of Ford. Like her brothers, she feels a need to prove herself and stand on her own. As an analyst for the CIA, information sends her to Russia and that is where her troubles start and where York, former Marine and CIA operative, finds her in need of rescuing. He helps her out of the country but the danger doesn't stop when they arrive in Seattle. In this series of five stories, one adventure ends only to have another start up in the next book. RJ and York get separated when he is arrested in Seattle by people from the CIA, only they weren't CIA and the faux agents and York are involved in a wreck where he loses his memory and no one knows where he is. RJ is convinced he is alive and is determined to find him. And she does. The wild adventure continues as the danger, suspense, and action go on and on.
This story ties up lots of loose ends that begin in the first book and was an emotional book to me at times. Without giving too much away, RJ shows love to York unconditionally and sacrificially. As Christ loves us. Expect adventure, action, danger, suspense, romance, and a spiritual lesson in Susie May's books. There is a hint of a cliffhanger or unresolved issue that may pop up again. Another winner and winning series.
This story ties up lots of loose ends that begin in the first book and was an emotional book to me at times. Without giving too much away, RJ shows love to York unconditionally and sacrificially. If a series has been crafted well, there’s both satisfaction and sadness when the final page is turned. That’s exactly how I felt when I completed “Ruby Jane,” book 5 in Susan May Warren’s The Montana Marshalls series.
The book blends a delicious mixture of longing, romance, faith, and adventure, with some unexpected surprises. I couldn’t put it down, and yet, I never wanted it to end. Readers of the series will appreciate how each sibling’s own story is woven into the fabric of this novel. The over-arching storyline is artfully continued through this book.
York has become one of my favorite characters in the ever-growing cast created by Warren. He’s funny, flawed, and faithful.
I hope to see more of the Marshall family in the future. Susan May Warren has the delightful ability to weave existing, beloved characters into other series’ storylines and I hope the Marshalls are no different. I'm sad to see this series end but I know I'll be re-reading the entire set. I’m also looking forward to the global rescue series up next, kicking off in January. There’s a bonus first chapter at the end of “Ruby Jane” and it sounds like another can’t-miss.

Ruby Jane: The Montana Marshalls - An Inspirational Romantic Suspense Family Series is the page-turning conclusion to this five book series. I absolutely loved this book. It was one of those rare stories that come around where you read the whole thing in mere hours. I *love* York and fell in love with him when he was introduced in Ford's story.
And I love the way Ms. Warren made York's confusion realistic. So many authors don't handle this subject well.
Warning for more conservative readers: There is some beer/wine drinking.
I absolutely loved the strong faith message and the way it was woven through. York is a book boyfriend you don't want to let go.

I don’t think I have the appropriate words to describe how much I loved this book. For one thing, I think the romance between Ruby Jane and York is perhaps the literature romance of the century. I loved these characters for so many reasons. As with the first four books, there’s lots of action, which keeps you glued to the pages. But, the best part of this book was York’s struggle to be a better man. Did I say I loved his character? In typical Susan May Warren fashion, you will find romance, suspense, action, and a faith-based story that is stellar. It's a fantastic conclusion to the Montana Marshalls series. It’s so much more than five-stars. I received an ARC, but you can bet your last dollar I'm buying this baby to add to my collection.

Saving the best for last, Susan May Warren delivers dramatic page-turning intensity into the finale of the Montana Marshall family series. Not only is the dangerous web encircling Ruby Jane and Mack, aka York, but all family members are involved and at risk. Like previous threat to this family have discovered, you don't mess with the Marshalls and remain unscathed. Yet the cost to the family may be high indeed.
Susan May Warren raises the standard, which is a high bar indeed, in her witty, personable and poignant style. I'm sad to see the end of the series and hope for glimpses in the future, perhaps with the upcoming Global Search and Rescue novels previewed at the end of this book.

I just finished the final book of The Montana Marshalls by Susan May Warren. Ruby Jane is the only girl and a twin to Ford. There are four older brothers, Reuben who has his story told in the Montana Fire series book Burning for You. Knox, Tate, Wyatt and Ford all have their own books but the all make appearances in each others lives and books.
I have loved Susan’s books and read most of her other series already and plan on reading the remaining ones. So many romance books are predictable and often the same story told with different names and few other alterations. Susan’s books are suspenseful, intriguing and still have the romance. They are the type you can’t hardly put down until you finish them. Although I will admit the suspense occasionally gets to me and I have to stop and refocus a bit before I pick it up and continue.
Ruby or RJ’s story began in Ford where she was rescued by York, continued in Wyatt and culminated in Ruby Jane. York has enemies as well as his own self doubt and difficulties. RJ never gives up on York, however she has her own issues to overcome.
You will not be disappointed. Ruby Jane can be read as a standalone, as can the other four, but why would you want to. The Marshalls are the family we all wish we had, even with their sibling rivalries and competitiveness they love have each others backs.

I don't have the words to do this book justice. It is full of edge of your seat action, excitement and drama. It is also a beautiful love story, not only between York and Ruby Jane, but between York and God. This book will touch your heart and soul. This is one book you don't want to miss. It stays with you long after you read the last page.

Ruby Jane is the fifth book in The Montana Marshalls series and a book I was eager to read. Unfortunately it was just not a favorite read of mine. Maybe it is because it had been so long since I read the previous books, but it was difficult to keep track of the characters and their names.
I thought the storyline had too many unrealistic moments and I just found myself not believing what had happened.
All in all, I've read and loved other Susan May Warren books and I'm sure others would enjoy this one, but it was just not for me.

I loved it! Totally finished off the set in a good place! I loved York since the beginning and I loved to hear his story more! This book could have totally been York’s instead of RJ’s ❤️❤️ I’ll be reading them again!!

4.5 ⭐️ such a good finale. I wasn’t sure I was going to like this because I hated what the author did to York at the start but it all came back around and l loved that the plot thickened and tied in bits of all the stories before.

Bittersweet to have to end my time spent with this lovely family.
But what a story!
This is the thrilling conclusion to Susan May Warren's suspense-filled series about the Marshall family. Ruby Jane's story was a must read, and yet, it made me sad to finish it.
The story was simply amazing, and I have been mulling it over in my head for a few days, trying to think of the right words to give it a fitting review.
This book didn't quite bring me the closure that I was hoping for. In spite of it being the end of the series, I still had lots of questions after I closed the book and had finished the last page.
But.
In spite of all that, I loved this story. I couldn't wait to read RJ's story and see what happened. The previous book had ended at a major cliff hanger, and I couldn't just wait and leave them all hanging like that....
So. Back to RJ. She's just sure, cuz she can feel it deep down in her bones, that York is alive, even though she's been told otherwise.
Then...she spots him in a TV interview. So she goes to that small town to find him. Only, when she gets there, he doesn't even recognize her.
What is going on.
She's determined to get to the bottom of this.
What if he's still in danger.
Well...I think I need to stop with that. I don't want to give any spoilers.
Suffice it to say that there is lots of danger and intrigue in this story. Twists and turns, events that you can't possibly see coming. Susan May Warren is a master at this kind of story, and I really think this might be her best book yet.
I really loved the theme of redemption and forgiveness that came through in this story. No matter what we've done, no matter what's in our past, if we cry out to God, He is willing to forgive and make us a new person.
The Montana Marshalls have quickly become a favorite fictional family of mine, and I hope to re-read these books again sometime in the future.

I have read the other books in this series and I am so sad to see it end! I definitely recommend reading all of them and in order to get the most out of this series and character/plot development.
I like that although each sibling has their own story (Knox, Tate, Ford, Wyatt), all of them are included in some way in every story.

Ruby Jane is the fifth and final installment in the family saga of the Montana Marshall's. In true Susan May Warren fashion, the plot is a high octane chase with plenty of sparks and romance to satisfy any true romantic suspense fan. I have read all of the Montana Marshall brothers' stories, and I couldn't wait to read this one. Warren does a fabulous job at crafting a story with familiar characters and tying up loose ends from the overall story. In Ruby Jane, Warren actually shows how all five stories are intertwined to make one big climatic moment. I really enjoyed spending time with these five characters and can't wait to read the next series from Susan May Warren. I loved this series and can't wait to own all five of them in paperback too, so I can add it to my Warren shelf on my bookshelf.

Ruby Jane is a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to a wonderful series. I've enjoyed getting to know this fictional family and reading the 5th book is bittersweet because I don't want to say goodbye to The Marshall Family. Susan May Warren has written another epic inspirational suspense novel and even though I vowed I'd read this one slowly, I couldn't stop. I just had to know what happened.
Fantastic characters, unexpected plot twists and a poignant message of our ultimate source of hope equals an incredible experience for fans of this genre. Don't miss this one, friends!

I still have mixed feelings hours after reading the last book of the Montana Marshalls.
On one hand I loved the series. On the other hand it's finished. But not all of the storyline was fully resolved which caught me off guard. Hopefully this means a follow-up book?! Please let there be a follow up book!
The story had a lot of twists and turns and was definitely a gripping read. But it also left me wanting to cry. Read at your heart's peril.
