I'm not looking for alphas. This is the time in my life where I am finally going to get myself together. I'm going on meds to help with the demons in my past, I've escaped all the people who didn't love me before, And now I'm free to finally just be.
But fate has other plans for me.
I trip and fall right into the arms of my scent match, literally. Another reason to take the elevator, if I ever heard one.
Of course the pack of four alphas wants to court me and change my view on alphas. I'm just not fully ready to commit or be loved how they want. And I'm not sure I'll ever be.
Zoinks! Nice Pack, Bro is an Omegaverse novel with loving alphas, an omega who gets her HEA, and lots of fun inbetween.
So this book had some really heavy themes such as depression, self-harm, and suicide al thoughts. When reading it in the beginning, I was glad to see the topic of depression addressed. By the end, however, it didn't really f÷l like it was given justice. She has a really bad episode and regresses, but then just seems to...snap out of it. Mentions are made of her being on meds and seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist, but those things were happening in the beginning of the novel, too. It just seemed that after the climax, the topic had reached its peak, so was no longer an issue.
Let me start by saying that there were a LOT of spelling/grammatical errors in this book, but I'm not considering that as part of this review.
I loved the premise of the book, but it was darker than I expected, so make sure you read the trigger warnings before you go in. I thought it was really sweet the way the pack was so freaking supportive and compassionate. I loved the mental health rep and could empathize with the fmc.
There was a conversation the pack was supposed to have regarding something I viewed as a major plot point and we didn't end up seeing that, nor was it indicated that the conversation took place even though they specifically stated that they would talk about it.
Enjoyed the Daddy kink. I wasn't expecting that. Had a few typos throughout the book but nothing to bad. While there was some spice, it was not the main event in this Omega book.
My only complaint is that the jerk alpha didn't get put in his place.
I don't normally read omegaverse books, but this one was great. It has the familiar aspects I have come to expect from this author. Relatable FMC who is just trying to get through her life the best she can. It's witty, sexy and entertaining. There is found family, mental health representation, and life trauma that is accepted and supported. I love how the MMCs aren't perfect in all ways and have their own issues that they are working through as well. It has a we are stronger together vibe and most importantly an HEA.
Yeah, there are spelling and grammar errors, but I was mostly able to ignore them The occasional pronoun mistake in the beginning was a bit jarring because I didn't know all the characters yet. Story-wise... she really got over her conflict with packs easily. I wish they had talked about her negative experiences with nests and worked to get her comfortable with them instead of her just... being fine???
So yeah, not great but it was enjoyable. I'd read another book by this author.
This was such a good read. I really liked the characters and the plot. Kind of sad there was no big beat down, about other guy that hurt her. kind of sad that we don’t get to know the sex or the name of the baby. But it was still a pretty good rate, and I really enjoyed how the illness was handled.
This was the perfect book to just dive head first into. I really enjoyed the real portrayal of mental health and the inner monologue the FMC had surrounding that topic. The love and affection the MMC’s gave her was downright dreamy. Fantastic! My only complaint is the typo’s but they didn’t take away from the book at all.
This was a really cute romance. I loved watching Sadie figure out who she was in a relationship. I really love watching a pack learn how to work around an omegas mental health. I thought this book did a good job representing anxiety, depression and body image issues. I really recommend it.
Love that its written from multiple pov. Having a little of all the main characters telling whats going on between their omega and them makes the book a great follow through. Ant has got to be my favorite alpha and has me wishing he had more story time. But if you qant a break from typical alpha books you will enjoy this omega story
Sadie is having trouble accepting the help needs, and a pack of alphas find an omega the were not looking for. Loved it!! Struggling with accepting my own body image and anxiety, I related with this book.
I am a dark romance girlie but I do need to tap out from that genre every so often. This book was so good for that! It didn’t read like you would expect for an omegaverse, even though it still had some plenty of those themes: there were alpha and omega, knots and purring. But there was more focus on the character development and relationships. It wasn’t overly wordy, and never left you confused. If you enjoy this type of book, I would absolutely recommend!
Normally I'm down for skipping the bullshit and throwing the love interests in all at once, but like we have a fmc that's traumatized, living in an area where there's no notable danger to her, there's no surveillance of her to determine that she's safer living with them. She texts one of the guys she's going on a walk and suddenly they're all in a car driving to her place (only one guy knows where she lives), walking in the unlocked door, begin packing her shit, spank her for being a "brat" when she rightfully is annoyed with four fucking men being in her HOME uninvited, and then tossed over his shoulder and carried to the truck. She's not into it, the mmc's are already convinced they know what's best even while admitting to not knowing her enough to know if they're pushing her too much.
I had some hopes for this one bc the mental health struggles of Sadie felt super relatable but man... not for me, could've been for me had some tweaks that could be picked up by alpha and beta readers, along with potential ARC readers too. But I think this author is still fairly new in the publishing scene so maybe we'll get something like that in the future.
Had potential but let down by errors *spoilers included*
This book has a decent foundation - interesting storyline and decent characters. Unfortunately it is spoiled by a rushed plot and so many typos that it's difficult to read. If this author paid an editor she needs to demand a refund. By page 18 I realized there were multiple errors on every single page and that trend never let up, taking a good deal of the enjoyment out of reading this book.
Mild spoilers beyond this point The FMC is an interesting character with a SOLID past foundation of trauma response. Unfortunately, the author pushes past her traumas way too quickly considering Sadie's initial aversions, making the story feel forced, like the author was more interested in the omegaverse RH genre than consistency of the plot. The initial contacts with the guys, her moving into the pack house and her reaction to the nest are all absurdly accepting in light of her well founded PTSD/anxiety/fears. The guys are all ok but shallowly written, like the author picked MMC tropes out of a hat and just gave the guys enough detail to hit those tropes instead of actually fleshing out the characters. They're all nice enough but the details are lacking so they never feel like real book boyfriend material.
Caution: Lots of grammatical and formatting errors throughout the book.
Sadie struggles with her mental health and finding her scent matches doesn't make things better. I did like that she was doing the work on herself and taking the necessary steps to heal.
Her men were written decently. I liked that they each had their own thing with Sadie and that she sought them out for different things depending on her mood.
Parts of the book didn't flow with each other and felt forced together. Some of the dialogue felt forced and unnatural.
There are some unanswered questions and important conversations we don't get closure to by the end of the book. I'm not someone who normally focuses on plot holes but there were some major things that were brough up once and never again.
This has the potential to be good it just needs some polishing and reworking.
If you like omegaverse and a broken FMC you'd probably like it. I just believe with a bit of work people could love it.
Be sure to read the CW/TW since this has heavier themes.
I struggled to review this because the story is good, but some of the errors made it difficult to read. There are quite a few grammatical and spelling errors, which include the use of incorrect tenses, words, and pronouns as well as incomplete sentences. The story also had some plot holes where the author revealed the backstory for several of the MMCs thru their inner monologue, but then never discussed the events. For example, one MMC is noted to have been thru trauma and then it is never explained. Overall, the story itself was cute. It was beautiful how the MMCs loved her through her anxiety and panic attacks and didn't respond to her attempts to push them away. At times, Sadie came across as unlikeable in her responses to her anxiety and depression, but I think this is okay, because in those moments, Sadie also doesn't like herself. I liked the epilogue and am glad that they all came together as a pack around Sadie to support her through her mental health, on both good and bad days.
In all seriousness, this was a great story, and we'll worth the read. It was fun & qurkey. Overall, a lighter omegaverse read. Check the triggers because the mental health struggles are real. I really connected with the struggles Sadie experienced. I do wish we could have gotten a little more of the alphas back story. It was explained, but I would have loved to see the pack unpacking their past with Sadie. The spice was plenty spicy for an omegaverse book. Im not the grammar spelling police but even I was picking out lots of errors. I dont think they were bad enough to make the book unreadable, but they were noticeable. Things like "as" in sted of "is". It definitely needs some additional editing, and I hope this is re-release with more edits. Even with the errors, I hope you all do take a gander at this story it was really good.
I had really high hopes for this book. The first thing are the errors/typos, so many of them. I will recommend the author to check with her ARC team or to hire someone for a check, it's always a little disappointing finding them in a finished book. But the main problem, for me, is the story. The idea for the plot was good, the characters ok, but the story was chaotic, and not in a good way. If, for an example, you put a month as a trial period for a relationship, you CANNOT time skipping that month, it makes no fricking sense. Sometimes the author wrote importante information (like 1 MMC being divorced) in a inner monologue and then nada, not mentioning it ever again. I almost DNF this book, not so sure if reading it till the end was worth it.
I loved this book from the first second I picked it up! It was so refreshing reading an Omegaverse that showed different sides to the FMC. Our girl is so strong with all the things she's been through and I loved that this book showed depression and anxiety and what healing looks like! I loved our MMC's just as much. They have been through so much as well and the love, care and tenderness they showed the FMC was amazing! The fact that this is this authors debut Omegaverse is incredible to me! She did a fantastic job writing it and if you love Omegaverse, go pick it up! Especially if you are looking for something a little different than your typical Omegaverse book!!!
I’m not sure what I was expecting from this book, but this was so much better than anything I imagined. It probably would have been easier for me to highlight the parts that I didn’t want to highlight. I love how the mental health aspect was handled. I love that every alpha got his special time. I love that it wasn’t an insta-love (not that those are bad). The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that there were several spelling and grammar errors. But I was able to look over those because of the amazing plot and characters. And man, that spice be spicin!
The plot seemed to go along steadily until THE DAY and then it really went downhill. The trigger warning did not accurately express the contents of the book. If I had known a main character would attempt suicide on page (even if she didn't intend to die) I would have been better prepared. It was a far harsher situation than self harm actions.
Additionally her recovery from THE DAY felt unrealistic.
I really encourage the author to re-read this with fresh eyes and try to fix all the typos. There were so many that it was distracting and pulled me out of the story.
I really enjoyed this Omegaverse story. It was heavy and emotional at times. Sadie has lots of mental health things going on, and once she meets her scent matches, the guys just jump right in to wanting to care for her and never make her feel like a burden. They have some adjusting to do since none of them expected to live the pack life, but it’s more seamless than they thought it would be. There’s darkness (check the trigger warnings) and humor, sweetness and spice. I loved the story, but it could definitely use a little more editing and proofreading. Overall, an entertaining read.
This book was a cute read and I enjoyed it. The plot and characters were well written. I loved the sweetness of this book.
The FMC was relatable on things and I loved what this book represented. It was beautiful to slowly see the FMC start to heal. I really enjoyed the MMCs and the way they got to know the FMC.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was a cute omegaverse story and had its sweetness to it. I recommend if your looking for a sweet omegaverse.
The story is there and all in all a good read…..I just felt like there were plot holes, spelling mistakes and jumps in the story that was confusing at times…I could super relate to the comments about Sadie’s mental health and I love the balance of finding happiness and being depressed. I wanted more integration with telling stories of their pasts and talking more in depth with Sadie after her panic attack at home and Cams PTSD.
Gosh this is the sweetest onegaverse I have read in awhile. The health and disability representation is well done, anxiety and panic attacks.. The fact that the lead males also have mental health problems after being in the armed forces really pulls it all together.. well done..look forward to more from this author
An enjoyable read, there were a few typos & missed words throughout the book though. I felt the relationship between everyone lacked a little, I would have loved if the guys opened up to the FMC like she was expected too. It all seemed a little brushed off, each of their lives before hand just ignored.
This is my first time reading Renee Anne, and now I am a big fan! This is a cozy but still serious omegaverse storyline, and I would recommend reading the TW. I enjoyed seeing the female lead grow a lot, and it was great mental health representation for both sexes. I loved all the alphas and their roles in the pack. Big fan of the Daddy Pax!
Ok so first thing is the mental health issues were done so perfect. I thought the explanations of her anxiety and depression were so relatable. I loved how sweet the guys were with her. I wished the jerk from the gym would have gotten his ass kicked, but it's probably for the best. I loved the story even with all the funny sayings.
I tried to like this book I really did. Honestly it just did not hold a candle to most omega books and was extremely drawn out. I know there is mental health concerns in this book and I appreciate it. But this just did not do those justice or the characters. Sadly this was a no for me.
