Madelines says hello to a tiger, butterfly and even a mouse in this charming, boardbook edition!
This charming, rhyming board book is just right for Madeline’s youngest fans. Each spread features Madeline with a different animal brushing her teeth with an adorable mouse (with whom she shares her house), scattering breadcrumbs everywhere for the birds in the square, stopping to greet the cats on the street, and more. John Bemelmans Marciano, grandson of Madeline’s creator, Ludwig Bemelmans, shares his grandfather’s flair for lively verse and vivid artwork.
John Bemelmans Marciano carries on the legacy begun by his grandfather, Ludwig Bemelmans, author and illustrator of the Madeline books, with stunning watercolor artwork and playful, energetic storytelling.
I loved everything Madeline as a little girl, I was definitely a bit of a francophile, so I was please when my toddler chose this at the library. The art style was pretty and the story was cute.
Ava loves this book, she pretty much has it memorized. We've done all the Madeline books, and I thought this would be a little young for her, but she loves it. I should probably buy her a copy, because ever time I think we are done and return it to the library, we are back there the following week searching for the book.
There really is no story to this one, just a bunch of pleasant sentences, and some beautiful artwork from what I understand is from the grandson of the original author/artist. A very pleasant compliment to your Madeline collection.
This book is not bad. The kids seems to enjoy it. Madeline is a little girl who goes to the Zoo. He sees a lot of animals. I'm not sure why she uses the term "Pooh pooh" in the book, we find that odd and we don't use words like that in our home. I'm not sure I will be reading this often to the kids. Maybe I will but change those words when I get to them. Is that how they talk in Paris where Madeline lives?
This is a board book done by the grandson. It's a rhyming story which takes pictures from a range of the Madeline books which include animals, and puts them together in a story. A great way to introduce the Madeline character to a younger reader, and lead into the actual stories. The very last of the Madeline books I needed to read so I can completely tick this off on my reading challenge. Yay!
I am not certain I ever read a Madeline book before. I know I have never seen this book, which I found in a book in the garage, previously. It's a well-constructed book.
Madeline interacts with different animals throughout.
I imagine Beetle likes this, but the boy has no interest in it.
