Copper Valley Bro Code #5

Snowed in with Mr. Heartbreaker

Rate this book
All I want for Christmas is to be alone.

You’d think having a breakout Christmas song to take your pop career to the next level would be a good thing, but the holiday has never been good to me, and I just need to escape.

Hide away from the world until all of the lights are down and every radio station, streaming channel, and social media site on the planet gets tired of my viral holiday hit.

Unfortunately for me though, my LA landlord has followed me to the mountains.

Cash Rivers is the physical representation of every bad relationship I’ve ever had. Mr. Hollywood Heartbreaker is older, with a big ego and an even bigger misunderstanding of how much he’s welcome here.

Which is not at all. Especially since I like him far more than I should.

But now a magical holiday blizzard has us snowed in together.

And I’m about to learn more than I ever wanted to know about the man. And the more I learn, the more I start to wonder if this Christmas might be magic after all.

Snowed in with Mr. Heartbreaker is a fun (anti-)holiday romance featuring a woman wise beyond her years, a man desperately trying to deny how much he likes her, warm fireplaces, winter wonderlands of snow, and a slow burn to a steamy happily ever after.

Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did.

Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.

When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

This holiday read was fine, but felt a little stale. Have all the good plots been written? Or am I in a bad mood? ✌

This novella got me out of my book slump! Love Pippa Grant! Her stories are so well written, funny and heart felt. This story made me happy. 😊

- no third act breakup
- snowed in w one bed and lots of snuggling
- good communication
- smart funny characters who are friends first
- 15 yr age gap and it works
- fun, not snarky, banter
- dual POV, two epilogues 1 (and 2?) yr in the future., HEA (engagement)
- found family, appearances from the bro code.
- sweetly obsessed MMC
- love that this short story is completely focused on the two of them and their short time in the cabin.
- no OM/OW. He hasn’t been w anyone since they started texting and it’s been over a year for her.

Aspen is an up and coming recording artist w a current Christmas hit climbing the charts. She is a friend of Willow and Cooper (other book) and rents Cash’s pool house, when she’s not touring. He is a former member of Bro Code and current Hollywood a-lister who is completely smitten w Aspen. They text frequently, even when they’re out of town, get along well, and both secretly have a thing for the other, believing that there’s no way the feelings could he reciprocated.

She goes away to spend Christmas alone in a cabin to escape the holidays and recharge. He follows her to apologize after they almost kiss under the mistletoe at a family party and he’s worried that he’s overstepped and made her uncomfortable.

He arrives, ice storm on his heels and then a blizzard that lasts two days. It’s awkward at first, bc she doesn’t want him there (but she does), he feels weird that he’s overstepped, etc. but then it gets cold, they snuggle, chat, feelings come out, etc etc.

Best parts (major spoilers ✋)
- the length. Love that there’s no wasted pages.
- she wrote the Christmas song about him and believing that he could make Christmas happy for her again.
- when he’s getting the stuff from the car after it’s been icing and he’s sliding all over the place. He quotes a line from his movie about saving the world. He’s self deprecating which is endearing. He’s shown to be a genuinely good guy who cares about his friends/family/her.
- when he starts making pancakes, the power goes out, she’s a bit scared and he hugs her.
- how he tells her his feelings bc he knows they’re going to have to share a bed and she’s going to feel his excitement.
- when he wakes her after her bad dream and they snuggle until she tells him she wants more.
- how she supports his dreams to write songs and sing again.
- all the little jokes about his age and movies. It’s cute that she makes fun of them and they each know the lines.
- learning that her family was terrible and constantly yelled and made her life miserable, even if we’re not completely sure what they did. How she simply tells him that she likes that he doesn’t yell at her even when she breaks things at the pool house.
- when they’re rescued and the friends admit they all knew they had feelings for each other and were waiting for this to happen.
- the engagement at the diner after his first show.

4 Christmas novella stars !

Cash Rivers is a former boy band member who is now an a-list celebrity and Aspen is an up and coming recording artist . They end up snowed in at a cabin because of a pop up blizzard and there is only one bed .. SWOON . That’s all tied together with some fun banter, a 15 year age gap and the makings of the perfect Christmas song .

This one was super cute and still had the funny Pippa charm but it was very short and i just wanted a little more after all the hype that was built up around Cash .

This audiobook is 5 in the Cooper Valley Bro Code Series and it can be listened to as a complete stand alone .

Enjoyable, but not her best

I enjoyed this book, but not nearly as much as the other Boy Banders. It wasn’t developed enough to really sink into it.

Pippa Grant was my first favourite author when I started reading romance and she continues to be one of my all-time faves, but not every book can be awe inspiring.

Christmas, snowed in, one bed, secret crushes, age gap (but not icky), found family, and hot hot spice!

This story was so good. We have been waiting on Cash for a bit and it was worth it. And perfect for the season. I am so happy that he got his HEA finally even if it took awhile. And the girl for him... just perfect. And now she has a whole family to welcome her in so she is never alone again.

I listened to the audio. And it is chefs kiss. The narrators are amazing! Really gives that something extra to the book.

This is a novella in the series but it could be read as a stand alone as everything you need to know is given to you. Though I recommend reading the other books as you will have met the characters before and know the secondary characters. Can you say Cooper Rock???!??!!?!

Somehow in less than 200 pages Pippa Grant was able to give so much depth to these characters!
Cash and Aspen are perfect for each other, they’ve both been pining after one another for awhile. Aspen is a rising star whereas Cash has been a celebrity for much longer and they’re able to really bond over that. There’s a decent amount of character growth and backstory even in a short amount of time, and the spice was spicy though it is a slow burn! This was a great Christmas novella with the tropes: slow burn, snowed in, landlord x tenant, found family.
Pippa Grant will always be my go to author for sweet yet spicy HEA books🖤

⭐️4. I loved jumping back into this "Pippaverse" for a short little snowed-in romance! It is a cute forced proximity, one-bed, anti-Christmas read, where we finally get to know a little about Cash (one of the final bro-code band members we haven't had a story from yet).

So happy to be back in this part of the Pippaverse. Age gap, forced proximity, friends to lovers, both parties overcoming insecurities. Loved this novella.

For me, the story was at times excelerated and missing small parts to build up the characters more fully. I wouldn't have minded seeing more of their initial interactions (text or otherwise) as well as more background on Aspen. Just a little too much shorthand for me. I've enjoyed other Pippa Grant books more, this one was okay.

Quick Read

The Bro Code Books are usually a lot of fun but this one, not so much. Absent is the witty banter between friends, the ridiculous pranks, the crazy misunderstandings. Everything that makes a fun story with this group of characters is completely left out of this book. It was an average read with a small amount of character development and a Ho hum plot. 2.5 stars.

I’d call this novella a Christmas gift from Pippa Grant to her faithful fans of whom I consider myself a member. Except she does get paid for us reading it, so is it really a gift? It’s an entertaining little story but I suspect for anyone who hasn’t already read her Bro Code series of which this is a very late addition or at least the Copper Valley Fireballs book where future H.O.F. baseball player Cooper Rock and pop superstar Waverly (think Taylor Swift level star) get their second chance at love, I suspect it won’t be nearly as entertaining because Cooper, Waverly and several former Bro Code members are key secondary characters in this story.
Our male protagonist Cash has been a minor secondary character in all the Bro Code books. He’s successfully transitioned his career from former boy band star to Hollywood A-list action hero. At Waverly’s request through his former Bro Code member and pal Beck, he’s agreed to rent out his pool house to Aspen to live in for the past year. Thirty-nine year old Cash has a secret crush on 24 year old Aspen. I get that at 24 years old and wise beyond her years, Aspen is mature enough to date an older man, but I’m honestly still not sure of how I feel about it with the 15-year age gap. Neither is Cash so he does his best not to let Aspen know about his feelings for her.
Our female protagonist Aspen showed up in Cooper and Waverly’s story as a promising young up and coming pop star whom Waverly takes under her wing. In return Aspen offers Waverly sage advice in her dating and career life you wouldn’t expect from someone so much younger that helps her find her way back into Cooper’s arms and put her career in perspective. Although she never really goes into specifics, in this story we learn that Aspen has had a very tough home life. Her romantic life hasn’t been a whole lot better. Both teaching her to guard her heart and not get too invested in relationships because they always end in disappointment. She even expresses some doubts about how long her friendship with Waverly will endure even though she acknowledges Waverly has never given her any reason to doubt her friendship. Aspen has a crush on Cash her older landlord with whom she’s become friends with over the year she’s been living in his pool house. But she believes he sees her as just little more than a kid because of their fifteen-year age difference. Because of her unfortunate life experiences during the Christmas holidays, Aspen doesn’t care much for them. So when her label insists she release a Christmas album (or EP) she writes a song about how she doesn’t like Christmas until the man she loves turns her attitude around. Unknown to everyone that dream man is based upon Cash. Ironically the song becomes the hit of the holiday season on a constant play loop on every radio station. Which causes Aspen to want to run screaming into the night every time she hears it. Which is pretty much what she does when the song comes on during a Christmas party at Beck’s vacation cabin just when Cash is getting ready to kiss her under the mistletoe. To escape it and the holiday celebrations in general she rents a cabin in the Virginia mountains near Cooper and Becks vacation homes. She just wants to be left alone to wallow in her own misery, journal and work on new songs. Cash believes Aspen ran out of the party because he was about to kiss her. So Cash shows up at Aspen’s rental cabin to apologize for he believes upsetting her causing her to run from him and the party. But while he’s there a rainstorm at lower levels becomes an ice storm in the mountains which becomes a snowstorm, leaving he and Aspen trapped together in her small one bedroom cabin. Things between them are awkward at first being that they’re both trying to ignore their attraction for the other. But when the power in the cabin goes off and they’re forced to huddle together near the fireplace things begin to first thaw and then really heat up between them.
Nice, sexy, heartwarming story for the holiday season. It definitely had its funny moments as well as its touching moments as Aspen learns to lower her walls and let Cash not only into her body but also really into her heart. Members of the Bro Code extended family and Cooper and Waverly round out the holiday cast to keep us laughing.

📚 Read if you like: Forced proximity, one bed + snowed in, sweetly obsessed MMC, dual POV, no third-act breakup, and age-gap romances where it works.

📚 Escape into the magic of a snowstorm with Snowed in with Mr. Heartbreaker by Pippa Grant! Aspen, an up-and-coming recording artist with a viral Christmas hit, wants nothing more than to avoid the holidays. But when her landlord, the Hollywood A-lister Cash Rivers, shows up at her secluded cabin just as a blizzard locks them in, sparks fly, secrets spill, and hearts start to melt.

👨‍👧 Aspen is sharp, determined, and refreshingly independent despite her complicated past. Cash, on the other hand, is the epitome of charm—self-deprecating, caring, and completely smitten. Together, they balance wit and vulnerability, proving that even the most unexpected relationships can flourish under the right conditions.

💞 The romance is swoon-worthy. A slow burn filled with snuggles, banter, and genuine emotional connection evolves naturally, with no unnecessary drama. From their adorable text exchanges to heartfelt moments in the cabin, it’s clear these two were meant to find each other. Bonus: no OM/OW drama and good communication!

👧 Familiar faces from the Bro Code universe add a touch of “found family” warmth. While the focus stays on Aspen and Cash, their friends’ sly meddling adds humor and heart.

✍️ Pippa Grant’s writing is witty, lighthearted, and perfectly paced. She balances humor with deeper emotional beats, ensuring every scene adds to the characters’ growth and connection. The dual POV shines, giving readers insight into both characters' vulnerabilities and feelings.

🌟 This novella is pure Christmas magic—a cozy, steamy, and heartfelt escape into love, hope, and healing. Short, sweet, and packed with emotional depth, it’s the perfect read to warm your heart this holiday season.

📖 This story was perfectly written and was just the right amount of everything you are looking for.

📲 QOTD: If you could be snowed in with a fictional character, who would you choose and why?👇

I’m so excited that we get another book in the “Bro Code” series! The moment that this hit my kindle, I gasped and dove right in. “Snowed In with Mr. Heartbreaker” is a swoony, flirty and oh so sweet age gap holiday romance that I loved so much.

Aspen Bowen’s career is on the rise for a Christmas song that she has written. She should be estacted but Christmas holds some bad memories for her and all she wants is to be left alone. Determined to ride out the holidays alone, she escapes to a mountain cabin to write and find solitude. And having Cash Rivers at her cabin door apologizing for an incident at a holiday party. Cash is her landlord and also has the biggest crush on her. But he’s set against pursuing anything since he’s older than her but when a tree breaks smashing his car and then a snowstorm comes through trapping them in the cabin together, they have some time to waste before a plow can come and rescue them. And as they spend time together, it’s clear that both have feelings for each other.

This book was classic Pippa Grant rom-com fun and I enjoyed reading it so much. Both Cash and Aspen are adorable and I loved their story so much. I loved Aspen from the start and it grew as the book went on. She’s living her dream even if it’s with a song for a holiday that is hard for her every year. And when we found out why she wrote the song, my heart swooned extra hard. And Cash had me swooning even harder. That man is a bunch of green flags and I’m all about that. He’s crushing extra hard on Aspen but is so respectful with her. He acknowledges and accepts the age gap between them and never pushes her for more than she’s ready for. He’s so sweet, protective and cares for her when the storm hits and they can’t leave. These two are so sweet together and I just loved them as a couple. The ending was perfect and I enjoyed this addition to the Bro Code series so much.

Be Still My Heart!

To say I was excited Cash was getting his own book is an understatement. I will absolutely devour anything in the Pippaverse and the Bro Code guys are some of my fav’s. Cash was always a fun guy in the previous books, but I’ve been waiting for his HEA forever and now he finally has one!

Cash is a former Bro Code Boy Band member who became a movie star after the band broke up. He’s very successful, super hot and known for being a bit of a “heartbreaker”. Aspen is the pop star staying in his pool house. She needed a place to stay and their mutual friends put them in contact. It’s all been great except these two are absolutely smitten for one another. Unfortunately she doesn’t think it’s smart to hookup with her Landlord and he thinks he’s too old for her and should stay away. As Christmas magic would have it these two end up snowed in together in a cabin in the mountains. Delicious tension ensues and soon all the cards are out on the table.

I adored Aspen and Cash so much. They’re kindred spirits who are just so right for each other. I love how Cash is so thoughtful, kind and loving. He’s the kind of man anyone would be happy to swoon over forever. Aspen was fantastic in that she could support and see Cash for who he actually was as a person. She was supportive, a great friend and an even better person. The chemistry between them both was electric and their spicy scenes were both hot and swoony. It will warm you up for sure. I love, love, loved this book! I loved Cash and I will forever love Bro Code! 10/10! Thanks for another great book Pippa! I can’t wait to read the next one.

The joy I experienced stepping back into the Bro Code world is almost indescribable, except I know a world of readers who also fell in love with the amazing characters of this fun world. They also know the fun, joy, bursts of snort-laughter, and crazy love that Pippa inspires and this book brought every glittery moment.

Cash and Aspen bring it! The sweetness, the awkwardness, the bear-not-attack, the falling in love with great Pippa flair. It's all in this cozy novella and I never wanted to leave this wonderful world.

Cash has had a crush on Aspen since he was introduced to her, but he's just a bit older than her and her career is just beginning. He feels every bit of his age when he sees all the wonderful milestones in front of her that his old, non-wrinkled (give the man some credit, he's in excellent shape ;), but older none the less self that he feels he shouldn't be a part of the road where Aspen is headed. Whereas, Aspen doesn't see his age, but an incredible man that she too has been crushing on from the moment she met him. Thank goodness for blizzards and forced proximity confessions. I love these kinds of books!!

This is the perfect book to cozy up with this holiday season while you get to rekindle the bromance with all the Bro Code boys and fall in love with a new couple. Personally, I loved jumping back into this world and falling in love with two new characters and I can't wait to see what Pippa brings next when the elusive Davis finally emerges.

I loved this delightful (anti) holiday novella. Cash Rivers and Aspen Bowen's age gap, forced proximity story has all the humor, heart and heat that I crave. Aspen's career is on the rise but she is afraid she will only be famous for her viral christmas song. She plans on spending the holidays alone, away from people who only want to use her, and write some new songs. Cash is worried about Aspen being alone in the mountains. They have connected, and grown close, through texts over the last year when she started renting his pool house. When he drives up to check on her, a fast moving storm strands them both. Now that they are in the same place, they are forced to face the feelings that grew over the last year of text conversations. As the nights get colder, their fiery chemistry is heating things up, making them give in to all their desires. But what happens when they are rescued and have to go back to their busy careers? I really adored everything about this enchanting, and sizzling story. Cash is so swoony as he takes care of Aspen, and she is funny as she keeps him grounded.
Emma Wilder and Sebastian York did a great job narrating this delightful romance and bringing it to life. I love their humor, banter, and chemistry, and their easy ability to make this heartwarming story of fated love feel real and authentic. They helped make this wonderful holiday romance even more entertaining and it will definitely warm your heart, make you smile and sigh over and over again.

Cash Rivers gets his book!!!!! Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this novella can be read as a standalone and ends with HEA.
A new addition to the Bro Code series gives Cash his happy ending with up-and-coming artist Aspen. Readers who have read other books by this author will recognize Cash as one of the members of the former Bro Code boy band and current movie star hot shot. We met Aspen in real Fake Love as a rising artist and friend of Waverly Sweet.
I loved getting to know both of these characters better. Aspen has some baggage from a less than happy childhood. Cash is a little aimless but has had a huge crush on Aspen (his renter) for over a year. I loved how their relationship was developed. Thei attraction to each other is undeniable. Once they are honest with each other, the mutuality of it makes it obvious that they could have something really good together. Steamy times in a snowed in cabin made this a quick and fun read. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Cash and Aspen as they learn more about each other. I loved Cash’s protectiveness of her and how he treated her so well. This is one holiday read that should not be missed this season.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.

Snowed in with Mr. Heartbreaker
By: Pippa Grant
Narrated by: Emma Wilder, Sebastian York
Series: Copper Valley Bro Code #5

It's time! I am ready to get into the holiday spirit and this book is just the thing! Aspen has hauled herself up on the mountain to the cabin, not realizing what is going to happen. She is trying to write a holiday song, and since her experiences have not been good, she is hoping to find some inspiration. Cash comes in only to find himself stuck in the cabin due to weather. The ice storm is turning into a blizzard, and now the two find themselves snowed in! What happens next? This couple is fun, flirty, complete opposites in so many ways, and lets not talk about the age difference! Will they attraction that has been smoldering for a while finally spark that fire? Cash is so conflicted and so on the edge! Aspen is sweet, but knows what she wants and is going to go for it! This is the perfect listen to get me in the feeling of the holidays and is a fantastic listen.

Narrated by Sebastian York and Emma Wilder is a gift in itself! York is Cash and I love how he delves into his character, with that feeling of knowing what he wants but is holding back. Wilder is so good as Aspen, giving her the frustration of an artist and the emotions of a woman in love. These two always deliver and I loved their narration.

A rising pop star and former boy band member, now movie star, get snowed in together over the holidays in Snowed in with Mr. Heartbreaker.

She has always been off-limits for him. First, there's that sizable age gap between them. Then there's the fact that he's her landlord back in California; she does live in his pool house after all. And then there's the ties between them; she's friends with his good friend's wife. He doesn't want to mess with the found family or make her uncomfortable in any way, but he fell for her over text before he realized who she was (or how old she is). He is so unbelievably gone for her but refuses to cross boundaries or make a move.

He's the one she thinks could save Christmas for her, but she would never tell him that.

I loved their sweet moments, banter, and the steam between them. I especially loved how they developed feelings for each other emotionally first and how competent Cash is. The man keeps them alive in the middle of a snowstorm and power outage in a mountain cabin in December, y'all.

Prior knowledge of both the Bro Code series and Copper Valley Fireballs series is helpful, but not necessary, to enjoy this one.

Sebastian York and Emma Wilder do a good job of bringing the story to life with their dual narration. It's a fun listen and at 3 hours and 41 minutes at 1x, is a quick novella length without extra fluff to listen to at Christmas or any time of the year.

I received a copy of the audiobook from the author. All review opinions are my own.

Cash and Aspen

This was a great holiday novella for this series with the long awaited HEA for Cash Rivers. I really liked that Pippa didn’t try to force a full novel out of this couple, she gave us a great romance without any unnecessary drama.

Because this was a novella, we kind of skipped over the meet cute and started from the middle. At this point Cash and Aspen have known each other for about a year and have kept things largely professional or plutonic as they mutually pined after each other. Cash believes he’s too old for Aspen and doesn’t want to take advantage of her and Aspen has past trauma that keeps her from letting anyone past her walls.

When Aspen and Cash get snowed in for the holidays at a remote cabin, things shift for them. They are able to be open and honest about their feelings and their friendship turns into so much more. I always love when a celebrity is portrayed as cocky and confident and is really just a little shy and awkward without the Hollywood script, and that’s exactly what Cash is. He knew how to play the Hollywood game, but before he even met Aspen face to face, he knew she was different.

I really liked this short glimpse back to some of my favorite Pippa Grant characters. Cash Rivers was definitely worth the wait.

Review: Snowed in with Mr. Heartbreaker (Copper Valley Bro Code #5)
Release Date: November 2024
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice Level: 🔥🔥🔥
Ladies, Cash Rivers has arrived! (Okay yes, he technically arrived in November, but I’m catching up!)
This hilarious, snowy, spicy novella is the perfect quick read when you’re curled up under your favorite fuzzy blanket.
The Tropes:
🎸 Rising Pop Star x Hollywood Actor (former boy bander)
🎸 Dual POV
🎸 Found Family
🎸 It’s Always Been You
🎸 Forced Proximity
🎸 Age Gap
I had no idea this was a novella-and while I found myself wishing it were a full novel (because yes, I was invested), Cash and Aspen’s story totally works as a shorter read.
Cash (yep, that Cash from Bro Code) becomes Aspen’s (rising pop star who hates Christmas and currently has a Christmas song topping the charts…) landlord when she moves into his pool house. Their schedules don’t often overlap, so their friendship develops over text and the occasional landlord duty that pops up. But one night, they’re at the same party and come this close to kissing—until Aspen makes an exit that leaves Cash’s head spinning…
Cash? Confused and determined to fix things.
Aspen? Running from something.
What happens from there? Forced proximity (yesss), a snowstorm, and some mutual pining that will have you fanning yourself!
The story strikes the perfect balance between swoon and sizzle, longing and laughter.
Final Thoughts:
Short and sweet with a satisfying HEA. 💪🏻There’s enough time for character growth, plot tension, and some good lovin’ that feels full despite the novella format.

We are back in Copper Valley with the 5th installment of Copper Valley Bro Code. Pippa has done an amazing job exploring this world with some amazing characters and story line development.

Snowed in with Mr. Heartbreaker was a feel good holiday read that just won me right over, as do all of Pippa's works. Cash is movie star and Aspen is a rising singing sensation who rents his pool house In Malibu. Despite the 15-year age gap, he has been crushing on her for almost a year since they started texting about the pool house. When they meet up in Copper Valley for the holidays (see other characters in the series to understand Cooper and Waverly and Beck and all the amazing folks), there is a moment and it's followed by an attempted apology followed by a blizzard followed by the spice of being mutually attracted in a snowed-in-together way. Yummy!!!

The story didn’t really wade too deeply into Aspen's aversion to Christmas other than some family drama. I would have liked to have more info about that. But it was a novella, so there wasn't exactly enough time to really explore in-depth back story development. I'm cool with that.

Spice-o-meter gives this a 3.5 out of 5. Again, I read dark romance and erotica so I have a high standard for reaching that 5 on the spicy scale.

To clarify, I listened to the audiobook. This is an MF romance and is book five of the Cooper Valley Bro Code series and can be read as a standalone. This was a 5 star, 3 spice listen for me! It was a quick listen at 3 hours and 41 minutes. The spice is well-written and is paced appropriately with the plot. If you’re looking for a quick holiday read/listen to get you out of a slump, I would recommend this book! The narrators were amazing. Tropes: age gap, movie star x musician, secret crush spicy Hallmark, banter, grinch FMC x jolly MMC, mistletoe, pet hedgehog, dual POV, HEA.

Aspen (FMC) isn’t much for celebrating Christmas. She accepted an invitation to her friend’s holiday party and, after leaving her landlord standing under the mistletoe, opted to spend the holidays alone in her cozy cabin in the mountains. Or so she thought.

Cash (MMC) feels like a bit of a creeper for eyeing his friend and tenant, Aspen. He thought escaping California and the pool house that housed the gorgeous rising pop star would cool him off. Instead, he discovers that she’s come to spend Christmas on the East Coast as well. Now what?

Double pining love

I loved, loved this landlord-tenant, age gap, snowed in, one bed, double pining romance. This story had the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, and spice. Cash is a 39 yo famous movie star as well as a former boy band star. Aspen is a 24 yo up and coming pop star who currently has a breakout Christmas song. She hates the holidays. Aspen rents the pool house on Cash’s estate in Malibu. They’ve spent very little time physically together but have texted a lot. They are sort of friends but also harboring secret crushes on each other. When Cash and Aspen get snowed in in a rental cabin in the mountains, their relationship slides from friendship into something more. To get to their HEA, there will need to be some baggage unpacking, truth telling, and leaps of faith after the snuggling for warmth starts. Despite being short, the story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. I love the Bro Code series and am excited for the last story.
