Mira believes she has her family’s dysfunction under control—until her grandmother’s funeral stirs up long-buried questions. She has always believed her father’s side of the family is more stable than her mother’s, despite his past indiscretions. But an ancestry test links him to a hidden relative he swears he doesn’t know.
Determined to uncover the truth, Mira digs deeper. But someone is desperate to bury the past, along with her family name. Mira wants the secrets, betrayals, and old wounds to end with her—even if it means risking everything she her marriage, her children, and the family name she’s fighting to save.
After The Girl Once Known and The Bond Once Broken, the series reaches its thrilling conclusion in The Name Once Erased.
R.M. Demeester, from Saskatchewan, loves being a mom, reading books, and writing. She's been writing since she was very young. Today, she's known for her stories in women's fiction, romantic suspense, and thrillers.
The Name Once Erased is the conclusion to the trilogy, The Girl Once Known by R M Demeester. The series does need to be read in order.
The Girl Once Known series is character driven, told from multiple characters points of view. To me, it helps see things from different characters perspective, finding out their motivations for the things they do, and some of those things are down right ugly. Why do the characters think that secrets are best kept hidden? The past always comes back to haunt them. It’s better to face life head on, instead of carrying excess baggage.
Mira is the main character throughout the series and it was fascinating watching her grow and develop into a complex character that always tries to do the right thing.
I want to thank R M Demeester for the opportunity to read the entire series. If you love character driven stories, this is a series you don’t want to miss.
Some family secrets are meant to stay buried—but The Name Once Erased proves they have a way of clawing their way to the surface, no matter how deep they’re hidden. This final installment in R.M. Demeester’s series delivers everything I crave in a psychological family drama: mystery, betrayal, and high emotional stakes that keep the pages flying.
Mira’s world is already fragile when her grandmother’s funeral unearths long-buried questions. She has spent her life believing her father’s side of the family is the stable one, but an ancestry test cracks that illusion wide open. As she digs deeper, determined to uncover the truth, she finds herself tangled in a past that someone is willing to do anything—anything—to keep hidden.
Demeester masterfully weaves suspense into every page, keeping the tension tight as Mira’s relentless search for answers threatens everything she holds dear—her marriage, her children, and even the family name she’s fighting to protect. The stakes feel real, the emotional weight pressing, and the twists? Let’s just say I wasn’t ready.
What I love most about this book (and the series as a whole) is how Demeester blends gripping mystery with deep, personal struggles. The characters feel raw and real, their pain and desperation palpable. And just when you think you have all the pieces, another revelation flips everything upside down.
If you love family dramas laced with suspense, shocking secrets, and characters who refuse to back down, The Name Once Erased is a must-read. This series ends on a high note, and I couldn’t have asked for a more satisfying conclusion.

THE NAME ONCE ERASED, #3 - Although this story needs editing, it is the best of the three. Good characters with interesting story lines told a a constant pace. A large variety of emotions and outcomes. Source: Booksprout. 5*
THE GIRL ONCE KNOWN, #1 - Holy cow, the start of this book had me cross eyed and almost ready to toss it. BUT, then the story kicked into gear and became so intriguing and immersing that I could not put the book down. The story lines, the multiple character narrators and their dysfunctional relationships, and the unexpected kinks were intense. The ending chapter may set up a continuation of this story or just proof that not all goes well. Hopefully, this ARC goes through a final editing before its release. Source: StoryOrigin. 5*
THE BOND ONCE BROKEN, #2 - A good story but a tad boring and repetitive. I enjoyed the first book more but this is still an OK read. Source: Booksprout. 3*
Definitely wrapped everything up and let us in a bit more drama in this family (Not that they needed more)! But with everything that’s gone on with this family feels like there’s always going to be more!
I loved getting to see more of the family as we got a bit more from Mike and his sisters and how they ended up where they are today. Omg and getting to see more of Mira as a mom and Tiffany who might finally be facing some of her issues!!
It was nicely wrapped up and I’m glad we got a bit into Mikes brain because he has more to him too.
Thank you for a great little series full of drama and thrills and honestly some self evaluation too!.

The Name Once Erased was eagerly awaited for me, as I enjoyed the entire series and wanted to know how things ended. Mira is a character who I have enjoyed following throughout the series and it’s been interesting to witness how she’s grown. Her family relationships are more than complicated but is there even a side of the family she can trust anymore? Has she been trusting the right people or the wrong ones?
I’m not going to give anything away, and highly recommend this series.
I was invested in the story all the way through this book and series. It has real life, suspense, secrets and lies. These are elements which always have me hooked.
Thanks to R,M. Demeester.

This is the final book to the series and I have to say, this one is my favorite. My emotions were on a rollercoaster with tis story. There's so much betrayal and hurt portrayed from the characters. I found this one to have more twists than the others and we really got a good look inside Mark's head with this story. This family is full of drama and secrets but you have to read the other books in theories to fully understand why the other characters feel the way they do. I just know this one was going to be good right from the beginning though. When a new random person shows a match to your DNA and pops up on the ancestry dna profile, I just knew drama would follow.
This was a decent final book in the series. However, just like the two previous books, the overuse of references to releasing a breath someone didn't know they were holding and Adam's apple movements was tiring. The amount of editing errors, wrong words, repeated sentences was rampant in all three books. It's the worst set of ARC books with that issue I've ever read. There was a lot of repeated story telling in this final book too. The book was told by the viewpoint of most of the characters. At least most of the story was tied up without any loose issues. The family certainly had some issues and secrets.
I received an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Still staying with family dramas, this final book explores Mark's family, currently his two sisters and their families, and previously when they were all children, as a family. Again, unearthing dark secrets, toxic relationships, jealousy, and rivalry. In true Demeester style, this final thriller twists and turns, with totally unexpectedly shocking exposures you don't see coming. I have read the complete set and highly recommend them, but you must read them in the order they are written.

I really enjoyed this conclusion to Mira's family story. Getting to learn about her dad's side of the family and the drama they bring to her life was a nice addition after the mess of her mother's side. It's hard to believe the amount of secrets both sides of her family have kept for all these years. Are secrets worth keeping or is it best to dig and bring them to the surface?
This series was a lot of fun to read and I definitely recommend checking them all out. I am so thankful I was able to read the ARC's for this series from R.M. Demeester.
"The Name Once Erased" serves as a highly satisfying conclusion to this remarkable series. R. M. Demeester has crafted a compelling narrative spanning three volumes. The story follows a remarkable cast of characters through generations of trials and triumphs. In an imperfect world our failings are often magnified and impact more than ourselves. Sometimes the best we can do is simply survive to try again another day.

The conclusion to the series has more family secrets to reveal. The story is told from different points of view, giving the reader an insight into why they were doing the things they did. Mira is settling down after so much drama from her mother's side of the family. She takes a DNA test and finds that there is another secret . This time on her father's side. This story was an emotional rollercoaster. I felt for Mira as she navigated the hurt and betrayal once again to find the truth. What a conclusion to a series. Enjoyed the story being told in different viewpoints of the characters. Made for a better understanding of the previous two novels. This story does put you through an emotional rollercoaster but well worth it in the end. Lots of drama and secrets. Only downside once again is the overuse of holding in and letting out breathes that the characters didn't know they were holding. Overall it's an good novel and conclusion to a series.
Thank you Booksprout for the ARC. This is my personal and voluntary review.
As soon as I started the book, the first thing I thought was: these people never learn that family secrets cause them serious problems. But at least some of them have gone to therapy, so that's something. This book focuses more on Mark and his family, and seeing what he'd already done in the first book, I feared the worst. The truth is, this is the one I liked the least of all, because it didn't have the same appeal as the previous ones, and the family secret hidden in this one wasn't that big of a deal. But the story overall is good and entertaining.
Have a tissue handy and allow a day for the third book in this suspenseful contemporary adult genealogical-mystery family saga demonstrating that the past is never truly past, but passed down to succeeding generations. Family secrets, hidden relatives, and generational trauma are all part of this urban family legacy. To avoid spoilers, read the series in order, but it does stand on its own.

This signifies the conclusion of the Trilogy The Girl Once Known (Book 1) Series The Bond Once Broken, Book 2 and the final Book 3 The Name Once Erased. Who knew a simple Ancestry DNA would result in an exciting read with an ending that you don't see coming which ties it all together! Take some you time for you and read this trilogy, it is a roller coaster ride of lies, deceit, twists and unexpected turns.
What starts as an innocent Ancestry DNA test turns into so much more. Mira’s dad revisits his past and questions all of his choices while trying to patch up his relationship with his sisters. But who is the mystery cousin?.

So many secrets surface and the search for the truth makes for page turning reading. Complex character that has to decipher and find out what the secret is. There are several twists in the story as well. Good conclusion to the set of books. Good read.

Secrets almost destroy this family once. And now, other secrets could do it again. In all this tangled mess that is this family, Mira is a light. I love her - with all her quirks and obsessions. She is the one keeping this family together.

Nothing straightforward in this twisty tale. Totally engaging as everyone in the family feels some kind of guilt. Raylene has done it again with a very convoluted story based on a simple DNA test result.
Omg, this series wound up ending perfectly! I really enjoyed all of the books and the twists and turns of each one. It all ended up trying together so nicely. This is not a series you're going to want to miss.
A grand finale. Family pasts are revisited, bringing to the fore an intricate web of more secrets, lies and deceit. Truths will be revealed, but at what cost. A worthy conclusion. I received an ARC copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Absolutely outstanding ending to a series that had me binge reading to find out what happens next. Secrets, mystery and danger everywhere, what is the truth behind the secrets. Loved it from the start.
Fabulous continuation of the series and and brilliant conclusion to the story. Great to see how the story unfolds. Hours of fun reading. Looking forward to what is next from the author.

This multi POV conclusion to The Girl Once Known provided all the suspense expected to keep the story exciting till all the answers were resolved. Great read!
This is book three in the Girl Once Known series. It’s the conclusion to the trilogy. It’s full of deceit, lies and secrets. So many exciting twists. This is an excellent trilogy.
Although book 3 is supposed to be the final installment, this dysfunctional family could go on forever. More secrets are revealed and the dead took more with them to the grave.
