Sitting next in line to run Full Moon Mercy Motorcycle Club, Lucas Trowwer has kept his fair share of secrets. Whether it's the cover up of murders in town or the fact that all the men that sit at the table are truly beasts on the inside, Lucas knows the line between paranormal and reality is very thin.
When bodies start piling up in town, the evidence points to a rival shifter crew looking to take down the MC, and the last thing Lucas needs is to save an innocent woman and fall for her. His trust must now reside in a woman who is beyond beautiful... and completely human. If things couldn't get any more confusing, a one night stand from Lucas's past comes forward with news that could change the path of Full Moon Mercy and Lucas is trapped within secrets, romance, and bloodshed.
There's a war brewing in the town of Mercy... and deep inside Lucas's beast of a heart.
something is going on in Mercy, and Lucas, as second in command at the MC club, needs to deal with it. while doing so, he rescues Leah from her good-for-nothing boyfriend and....well, he isnt quite sure what happened, but he DOES know, he wont be parted from her. Not even when a stripper turns up pregnant with his child. a SHIFTER child.
a little different, since these bikers are shifters as well, but still a good story. the chemistry between Leah and Lucas (AND much kudos for not shortening it to Luke!) is instant and hot off the page, however, they get interrupted alot and it takes a bit of time for them to finally get it on, but its hot waiting for it, i tell ya, hot! it amde a change that Leah did not have that "oh my god, he's a shifter!!!" reaction, she just took it all in a stride, and let her brain process it all. i liked that! she also deals well with the violence that these men are part of.
i did feel something was missing, though, since this is a first-in-a-series book, there should have been much more information about how these men came to be in Mercy, and how they came to be together. there was none of that, at all, and thats the only reason i am giving it a 4 fang rating. had there been some world building and history, it would have definately gotten a 5.
now, as said, this is a first book, and so the story does not end, it actually ends a little flat, but i'll still be on the look out for the second book, as i wanna see how these plays out, and what happens between Leah and Lucas.
violent, sex, drugs and not so much rock and roll, but still an over 18 rating. 4 fangs

The Secret Wolf by Ana W. Fawkes has two of my favorite topics - bikers and shifters. This starts out with a rival pack of wolves trying to move into The Mercy Falls Motorcycle Club's territories. Vince is the head and Lucas is his right hand man. Lucas takes two other wolves with him and meet Charlie the police chief. Charlie tells him the wolves better be more careful. They start to burn the bodies when Lucas hears a woman scream. He shifts to wolf on the run. He finds a man and woman struggling in the car when a gun goes off and the woman falls out the car window. When the man leaves the car Lucas enters the scene. The man, Rich fires the gun at Lucas then gets in the car and takes off. Lucas jumps in the Forrest and calls to the woman, Leah. Tells her to trust him and go to the road until a motorcycle pulls up. This is the first meeting of Lucas and his soon to be claimed girlfriend, Leah. Read on to discover what happens. This book is part of a series.
Lucas is the VP of his MC and a shifter. His club has many unwritten laws. One is to not get involved with humans but when Lucas finds Leah on the side of the road about to be killed by her boyfriend, he does something he knows he is suppose to avoid. He gets involved and saves her life. He immediately falls for Leah's beauty and something deeper he can't define. Against his clubs belief's he holds on tight to her and they fall in love but things are not going to go smooth. Murder, greed, betrayal and another woman try to come between them> Wolf shifters have the lust for blood and some can't control it. As the clubs VP Lucas is responsible to make sure to keep the humans in the town safe and unaware of what is around them. Now that Leah knows all he has to make double sure she is safe. Really good book!
Yes, I keep thinking it so I’ll say it. If Sons of Anarchy were werewolves, this would be it! Seriously, can you see Jax turn into a wolf. Seriously HAWT!!!!! Like OMG! Yeah, I’m trying to stay calm. LOL. And then it gets deeper :) So, this one starts off with a biker club who has dead bodies dropping in their town like flies. Except they are torn to shreds, left in a particular part that the bikers frequent, mainly because it’s where they hunt in wolf form. And when our main man Lucas is investigating one of the bodies, he accidentally also rescues Leah, a human, from her psycho human boyfriend. And to top it off, he’s also got another woman pregnant, which is supposed to be impossible. So, let’s just all say that Lucas has a lot on his plat. LOL. Plus he’s got the club to worry about, being second to the Alpha.
Ok, Lucas is hot, plain and simple. However, he’s a bit rough around the edges :) Leah coming into his life is also turning it up side down. When he finally figures out that he’s got it bad for her, all of a sudden, another woman shows up that she’s pregnant with his child. Let’s just say this one is not an easy start for Lucas. He’s got dead bodies, and lies in the crew, and rival crews trying for their territory, he’s in love with a human, and has another human pregnant. At one point, I kinda just wanted to give him a hug. LOL However, he’s learning, he’s not there yet, but he’s getting there, that he’s probably going to have to chose between the woman he loves and the crew he lives for. And not everyone is on his side, and some things are going to get ugly. I can’t wait for book two to see what’s going to happen!
Leah is a little bit of a weak personality. She has been though boyfriends that all continuously treat her like crap. And then she stays with one who has become abusive, and when he almost kills her, she still almost forgives him. I thought I would hate her. I wanted to slap her in the beginning. But, let’s just say that meeting Lucas has also taught her a few things, like men are not supposed to hurt you when they love you :) I look forward to seeing what’s going to happen to Leah, especially with Debbie in the picture now, and the alpha feeling the way he does. I bet some fireworks are going to fly!! :)
I do wish this one would have been a bit longer. But I like the characters, I like the storyline, and I really can’t wait to see what’s going to happen. I predict more fights, blood, and fangs to come out! I am so rooting for Leah and Lucas, and I have a feeling that I am going to not be cheering for Vince for much longer :) I guess we shall see in book two, which I need like ASAP!! :) YAY! 4.5 WOLFY PAWS!!!

This has two of my new favorite things in books recently bikers and shifters which makes for one very HOT read.
There is a rival pack of wolves trying to move in on Mercy Falls and the VP of the Mercy club/pack is sent to check it out by his Alpha Vince. Lucas takes two other guys with him to check out a problem that the Chief called them about. While dealing with this issue Lucas hears a girl scream and shifts to check it out. Once there he sees a man and woman fighting in a car. The man shots at Lucas and speeds off leaving the woman Leah there. Lucas runs off into the woods to shift back and yells for her to wait for a guy on a bike to come and help.
Lucas and Leah have instant chemistry that is hot but they often get interrupted. But once they get together it is well worth the wait. Even though I love both characters Leah is my favorite. She doesn’t freak out when she finds out Lucas is a shifter she just accepts it and that was so refreshing to see. Not to mention she accepts the violence that surrounds the shifters. She is just a great heroine and a good match for Lucas. All in all this is a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to read the next book. 4/5 Bloody Fangs
Hmmm...I got this book recommended to me by a friend, because the first three books were free. I do love a good biker book (this was taking place in an MC but with shifters) and the paranormal aspect was an interesting addition, although I usually don't go for those kinds of books. In any case, Lucas seems to be the perfect type of sexy alpha male hero...protecting a human woman from harm and trying to do the right thing by his club. The fact that he is a wolf and part of a wolf pack MC is not something new...I have seen it before in a few other books, but it had potential to be more unique since it was not erotica but more action and romance. The one place I lost it (and pretty much rolled my eyes) is when I got to a major plot twist that is very reminiscent of something out of the Twilight saga, but involving a wolf rather than a vampire. I won't spoil it further except to say that anyone who has read this book and that series will know right away what I am referring to. An ok start to the Full Moon Mercy series and since I have the next two books I will definitely want to read them to find out what happens with Lucas, Leah and the whole gang.
While this book definitely isn't the typical biker shifter read, I did enjoy reading it. Storyline was hot, intriguing and had action. Lucas and Leah had steamy chemistry and instant attraction. Not sure if it's love yet but it's something. He's a werewolf and she's human. Can't wait to read the next in the series and see if it reveals more background information on all the werewolf characters.
I found this series on my kindle during a recent attempt to organize, since I don't remember them I had to revisit. I am not a fan of the cliffhanger, buy the next book to complete the story - oh wait there's another book after that, then another....you get the idea...it's a trend with some authors that I don't care for at all
It's wasn't a bad read but I think Leah is a doormat and way too understanding. Meeting Lucas because she needed rescued, the instant attraction, meeting the stripper....yep she could have been stronger but that's just me and honestly I have no idea where the authors going
There is no back story to this club, no history at all. Hopefully it comes in one of the next books.
I had intended to stop reading this book about half way through it and decided to keep going. while the plot does not really have much of an actual "romance" going on the plot twists have got me reading the second book to see what happens next. hopefully its one of those series that gets better as it goes along. the beginning of this one seemed to be more about shape shifter blood lust than romance.
Thank God I didn't pay for this book. This book could have been so much better. the plot was good but very rushed. There was a lot of unanswered questions throughout the book. Now there's another story to finish out this one? I kept reading thinking it would get better. sadly it didn't.
3.75 stars In the beginning it was all over the place and just hard to follow. After awhile it settles and I was able to understand and get into the story. I have to Saudi will definitely be reading on to the next book. I already hate this Debbie and honestly I'm a little blah about Vince and Mandy, but reading on will tell me more.
This book just didn't do it for me. First off it wasn't complete. I hate when you aren't told that you are going to be left hanging. This shifter story was a little too dark for me. I just never connected to the characters.
Good read. I got the feeling that there was more to the story than we learned from the book. These are not very sympathetic characters. Hopefully the questions I have will be answered in the next book, The True Beast. It is a very quick read
Almost did not finish this book. Skimmed the last 45% of book just to find out story has no conclusion...have to read next in series. Did not enjoy writing style, characters, and plot. Will not read next in series.
I do and don’t like this book/series. I like it in a generic, pass the time type of reading, but there’s something I can’t put my finger on that makes me dislike it slightly.
I will still continue on with the series, as I’m intrigued enough to keep going.
This was 3.5 stars for me. I liked it. It felt a little rushed and left some questions, but I guess I'll have to see where it goes in the next book. I thought it was a good first book.
the book in my opinion was not especially good. The storyline is full of holes. I didn't connect with the characters at all... there was no depth to them.
