About the author

Anne-Catharina Vestly, but published as Anne-Cath. Vestly is a Norwegian actress and author of children books. She debuted with "Ole Aleksander Filibom-bom-bom" in 1953. Her first works were designed to be read on the radio, making the language to a greater extent oral than in her later books. Through the Norwegian children radio program "Barnetimen for de minste" she developed a large audience for her children stories. Some of her books were adapted into movies. As an actress, the Anne-Cath. Vestly herself played the role as the grandmother in the films about "Mormor og de åtte ungene". An interesting aspect of Vestly's books are that she has created her own little town, "Tiriltoppen", where many of her characters live. Hence, earlier protagonists reoccur in later book series when their lives intertwine.

მე დავამთავრე ჩემი პირველი წიგნი ქართულ ენაზე.
This is the first book I have read in Georgian, it is a delightful tale of a Norwegian family of 8 kids and the adventures they have. I needed Google Translate extensively to get through the book.

I don't remember much about this except all the kids' names began with a the same letter and they all spent a lot of time in that truck. It made me want loads of brothers and sisters. And a truck.

It was a lovely children's book, worthy of Lindgren. It was so fun, warm and moving. The whole book is full of kindness and sincerity. The huge family with limited financial resources find joy and pleasure and magic in the small, everyday things like a pirate party, painting the floor, going into the forest or riding in a tram. Even unpleasant and disagreeable people are not so bad when it comes to life tests. In this book such values as kindness, sincerity, family ties and even forgiveness are shown in such a simple and accessible way, what I have no doubt that a child will get it. And grown-ups will be left with a warm cozy feeling of something light and heartwarming coming in their life.

To drugi tom z serii przeczytany przeze mnie (chronologicznie jest pierwszy) i jestem zachwycona! Bohaterowie skradli moje serce, a opowiedziane przygody rozbawiły do łez. Autorka opisała w książce czasy, które pamiętają nasi rodzice i dziadkowie - nie wszystkich stać na lodówkę czy rzeczy codziennego użytku, często w mieszkaniach brakuje bieżącej wody. Wiecie jednak co jest najcudowniejsze? Mimo biedy ludzie doceniają chwile spędzane razem i dużo ze sobą rozmawiają. Tak naprawdę zapomniałam, że książka skierowana jest do czytelnika w wieku od czterech lat wzwyż. Przesłania zawarte w niej dotyczą każdego bez względu na wiek! Dodatkowy plus dla wydawnictwa Dwie Siostry za piękne wydanie.

Чудова книжка для сімейного читання. Настроює на взаємопідтримку і якусь добру взаємодію. Книжка, написана з любов'ю до людей і до життя. Нагадує, як класно мати навколо гарне, хоч і дуже різноманітне, товариство. Безжальна пропаганда багатодітності)))) В найкращому з сенсів. Дочитуємо третю книгу, і сумуємо, що нема четвертої.

Podobało się Tosi, lat 7, podobało się cioci Tosi, lat 37.

Taka typowa, (nie znoszę tej frazy, ale pasuje) pełna ciepła opowieść o skandynawskiej rodzinie. Rodzinie, która mieszka w kawalerce (przypominam 8 drobiazgu + rodzice, w porywach babcia), ale ponieważ się kochają, to jest miło, wesoło i pluszowo na serduszku.

Napisana w 1957, więc rozumiecie, wspaniały świat bez odmóżdżającej technologii. Do wołania straży pożarnej służy budka ratownicza na rogu ulicy. Nie ma internetu, telefonów, telewizora, są ludzie, natura i bliskość.
Wyglądam(y) mikołaja z kolejnymi tomami!

Lovely childrens' book, worthy of Lindgren. I have read other books in the same series as well, and they are fun, warm and moving.

Podoba mi się w tej książce, że bardzo trudne warunki życia dużej rodziny są przedstawione w normalny sposób. Dzieci rozumieją, że nie wszystko można kupić. Liczą grosze na bilety. Pełno w tej książce ciepła, zrozumienia, komizmu.

[NIGHTSTAND CHAOS]

In a quiet town on the outskirts of the bustling city, there lived a family who brought joy and chaos in equal measure, known as the Merriweather family. They had eight children, each unique and vibrant in their own way. From the eldest, a bright and curious 16-year-old named Amelia, to the youngest, a mischievous 2-year-old named Max, their house was always filled with laughter, bickering, and the occasional tantrum. "Suskaityta", pagražinta nelabai estetiškais piešinukais, bet visad pralinksminusi ir... šiek tiek priminusi manąją vaikystę mažame butelyje, na, ne su 7 broliais ir sesėm, bet... vis tiek. Gražūs, darnūs šeimos santykiai, atleidimas, gebėjimas prisitaikyti bet kokioje situacijoje ir gebėjimas džiaugtis visiškai mažutėliais dalykais - šios knygos grožio esmė. Skaitydama dabar supratau auklėjamąją knygos vertę, džiaugiausi tobulai atskleista paprastos, net skurdžios, tačiau laimingos ir prasmingos būties ir buities atmosfera. Nekantrauju perskaityti kitas šios serijos knygas ir dar kartą ne tik (at)rasti mylimą knygą, bet ir trumpam nukeliauti į savo vaikystę.

Jakie to było urzekające! Zupełnie się nie spodziewałam, że ta książka aż tak mnie zachwyci, ale... zrobiła to!

,,8+2'' to historia dużej rodziny, która mieszka w małym, jednopokojowym mieszkanku i przeżywa najrozmaitsze przygody. Bohaterowie są pocieszni, chwytają za serce i prezentują piękne wartości. Polecam szczególnie do czytania z dzieckiem lub młodszym rodzeństwem, ale jeśli nie znacie żadnego malucha, to sami również będziecie się świetnie bawić podczas lektury tej książki.

Zastanawiam się tylko, dlatego ta powieść jest tak mało znana? To prawdziwa perełka!

En helt grei artig norsk klassiker som allikevel kan bli noe laber for en voksen leser, men for barn kan denne fenge, men kanskje ikke så mye i dag som den gjorde før? Jeg leste boken for elever i første klasse og det virket som de synes den var helt grei.
