SKALS #4

Inferno

Rate this book
The lines are drawn. After stumbling across news of Project Blue and all it entails, Sebastian is left reeling. He realizes the world as he knows it and the lives of everyone he loves now hangs in a delicate balance. Bit by bit, new pieces come into play and it seems following Marx’s orders are the only way to survive the potential aftermath—but at what cost? If the ruthless commander succeeds, SKALS will become an all-consuming regime that brings the world to its knees. If he rebels, Marx will kill him and go after everyone he loves, including Taylor and their unborn child. But the burden of guilt rests heavy. The brief glimpses of life and love he’s experienced have opened the jaded agent’s eyes and he can’t help but wonder, with SKALS at the helm, what kind of existence would anyone lead?

No matter which path Sebastian chooses, he stands to lose everything he’s ever loved. Taylor is in more danger than ever, and with other government agencies closing in, he quickly discovers there is nowhere to run—nowhere to turn.

Resolve will crumble. Alliances will shift, and SKALS will be torn apart from the inside out. Their life is in violent upheaval, but there is no looking back. No second chances. In order to save himself and the woman he loves, Sebastian might have to take a final stance against Marx and the brutal organization he leads, but taking the man down won’t be easy.

As the drums of war beat louder, only time will tell who, and what, will remain standing in the end.

“Welcome to SKALS, cupcake. I suggest you strap yourself in. You’ve just entered the ninth circle of hell.” ~ Agent Josh Reevers - Edge of Obsession

WOW! I can't explain how I feel right now, the way I feel is sort of bittersweet. I have lived and breathed this series for almost 2 years, I remember the day I decided to read Sinister Kisses by Adriana Noir. I remember reading Erotic Psychological Thriller and thinking: "Yes! That's exactly what I'm looking for" And every time I've finished reading each book in the series, I'm always left feeling like Adriana must have cracked open my skull and found my list of "Everything I want in a book" This series was the first series that ever pushed my boundaries, the first series where I loved an anti-hero and questioned my sanity, the first series I ever felt protective of.

Now for my feels about Inferno.
I must have ingested an entire bottle of Gaviscon by the time I finished this book! I was a blubbering mess, I'm serious! I can't tell you how many times I caught myself as I was about to go straight to the end just to make sure everything would turn out okay!

Sebastian Javier Baas. This is the fourth book and last book in the SKALS series and Sebby has grown so much, his character has always been strong and confident but reading each book and understanding how he's mind works has been an absolute pleasure! He was still the same Sebby we all love, but he was so much more. Having Taylor in his life has had such an impact on him. Taylor has always been the balm to Sebby's soul, she is both strength and weakness to Sebby. Taylor, was so strong in this book, you just have to read the book to understand what I mean. She's always had hang ups and issues because of how she grew up, but being with Sebby made her matured her, I think. I'm thinking of one particular scene that I read in this book that had me sobbing like a little girl right now.

Before I bore you all to death, let me tell you about Inferno. The previous book ended with Taylor being in a car crash, I'm sure like me everyone had their hearts in their throats right then. The book starts of with a deep sense of urgency and that does not stop for one minute, and I repeat, not one minute does the urgency stop. Not until the end. Sebby and Taylor are trying to live their lives and have as much happiness, even though the shadow of SKALS and Marx looms over them.

SKALS, is not what it once was. Marx has become a dictator, a Hitler re-incarnate, ruling their lives with an iron fist. He has plans for SKALS and those plans include Sebastian, and he will not allow Sebby's love for Taylor to stand in his way. Sebastian has been suspicious of Marx plans and motives for some time now, and everyday his suspicions are being proven valid.

I'm not going to say anymore but I will say this, as an avid reader of Dark Fiction I always worry that at some point I'll become numb and I won't be able to get that same feeling I got when I read my first Dark read. I'm not sure about you but every time I read a dark book or dark romance all I'm trying to do is re-enact that first thrill. Adriana Noir, did not disappoint! I'm still reeling, this book was emotionally taxing. There were times I felt like my heart was being ripped out my chest and strung to wither in the wind! My heart, at times it hurt but in a good way! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this series.

I’ve waited 9 months and 22 days for this book – for more Sebastian. That kind of anticipation has the power to hype up the book and skyrocket my expectations...and Adriana Noir met every single one of them. SKALS – just hearing the name gives me goosebumps and yet I can’t stop craving more. LOVE that this book and series epitomizes the whole “it’s so wrong but feels so right” sentiment. This book is one kickass ending to a kickass dark romance series!

description

This fourth book picks up right where the third one ends – Sebastian now knows everything about Project Blue and Marx’s diabolical plans for SKALS. But unlike before, Sebby has much to consider before making any moves: he wants to stop Marx from transforming SKALS into a Hitler army 2.0 but also needs to protect Taylor and their unborn child. The stakes just keep getting higher and higher and with each new move from Marx, Sebby finds himself cornered like an alley cat with no clear-cut road to go but one thing’s for certain – Taylor and his family will always come first.

When I picked up this book I honestly didn’t know what to expect from Adriana. The ending of book 3 was very brutal and I think this fourth book could’ve gone several ways, but the author took the harshest and most lethal route – this book is all about fighting for what’s important to you no matter what the costs are, and the strong belief that the sweetest and happiest endings are always hard-earned. The character development is amazingly well-done: Taylor has come a long way from the meek, helpless chick in book 1 and you truly see the depth of her strength and support in this book. I’ve loved Sebastian from the start: the extreme anti-hero, the mega jerk, the compassionate lover, and the deadly assassin – all of him.

description

What started out the series as just Taylor’s story quickly manifested into Sebastian’s story as well. Characters as complex as the ones in this series call for a complex, elaborate, and epic story…and Adriana Noir delivered just that.

My only complaint would be the rushed ending but I’ve already overlooked that fact simply because everything else was flawlessly executed – the nail-biting suspense, the toe-curling romance, and the imperfectly perfect characters. I cannot emphasize enough how dear this series is to me and its characters too, especially the dangerous and delectable Sebastian. The series may be over, but the legacy and the impression Adriana Noir leaves behind is profound and perhaps, everlasting.

P.S. THANK YOU Christine for introducing me to this series and buddy reading with me! You're the perfect dark-romance-partner-in-crime babe! xoxo

FANTUCKINGTASTIC!!!!

Holyshizballs this booked kicked major ass!!! What a way to end this series... Adriana could not have ended it any better than she did. There was so much action ! So much nerve racking moments, so many edge of my seat moments! Who to trust! Whats gonna happen! Sebby!! Wow.. I can't say enough great things about this series. It's just fantastic. I hate to say goodbye to Sebby.. he's one of my all time favorite book characters and I know without a doubt I will go back and re-read this series many times in the future. It's that good.

Inferno just hurts so good.

I'm trying to put into words how I feel about this book and that's the best I can come up with.

"He was both heaven and hell, the beginning and the end, but nothing was more beautifully broken than this man and the fragile bond they shared."

Before I get started with my ramblings,... which I think is all I can get out right now,... I need to put out there that this book is most definitely not for the faint of heart. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from reading it, matter of fact the exact opposite. I can only think of one other series that has made me feel like this, and I'm still pimping it. And have every intention of pimping this one. I'm just warning people what they are getting themselves into so they don't come back and give it a bad review because they couldn't handle it. I'm a definite cheerleader of this author and series, so I feel protective of it.

(obviously, I'm the mascot here, and if you don't love SKALS, I will EAT YOU....hahaha)

Okay, so with that said, Inferno...

"Swinging her wide gaze up to his, she realized they were both lost, both drifting in the middle of a violent storm with nothing to cling to but each other."

Seb and Taylor have already been through so much. But they are stronger than ever and planning their future. Only one thing stands in their way, Marx and Code Blue. And, that is quiet the obstacle. Seb will do anything, everything to protect his family, but he has to save innocent lives as well. Even though he will try if he has to, he knows he can't do it on his own, so on top of everything else, he has to try to figure out who he can trust.

"We've been through hell together, but those tribulations haven't lessened what I feel for you. They've made our bond unbreakable. I love you, Sebastian Javier Bass, and I always will. You and those crazy curls."

It was intense. There is no other way to describe it. From the very first pages my gut clenched and it only got tighter and tighter as the book went on. Like, I literally got this feeling of dread come over me and it didn't go away until the Epilogue, not once. If anything, it got stronger and stronger, like I could foresee everything was going to get worse before it got better for Seb and Taylor. I just never expected how bad. I'm not trying to scare anyone off, I'm just putting out there how I felt while reading. I need to vent that out I think, to make me feel better.

Adriana Noir, has out done herself here. I will read her grocery list, and love it, if she offers it to me. This book made me feel... EVERYTHING . Every emotion Seb and Taylor went through, I was right there with them feeling it too. I'm not cold hearted, but honestly, I normally don't cry much during books. SO, I know, if it brings me to tears it's far beyond good. I cried for over an hour during this book. I was unable to go to sleep because my mind was running through everything I had just read, and I kid you not, I then even dreamed about it. I felt like my heart had been jerked out and served up on a platter.

The only thing, the only thing I can think of that I wish was in the book that wasn't, In no way am I saying this took away from the book, just me always wanting a little more I think...

If you haven't read this series, you are missing out. Seriously! I'm already planning my re-read and I just finished it last night. The series as a whole is impeccable.

Prior to Release:
Omg, omg, omg, eek!!! I seriously can hardly wait for this book to release. I've desperately missed Sebby. Can't wait.....

Holy Hell! What a roller coaster ride this journey was! I LOVED this series! Inferno, was the finale of what was an amazing series..Adriana Noir did not disappoint in the least! I was on the edge of me seat pretty much the whole time! In the beginning, it was the anticipation of what was to come, and then towards the last 20%, I was brought to my knees!! I cried, screamed, stomped around my house, and generally dealt with extreme agitation as I pondered what the outcome for Sebby and Taylor would be!!! I think my family members are all hiding from me right now, as I have snapped at them all for daring to interuppt me! I believe I have some apologies to make! LOL

In all seriousness though, this is a must read series for dark romance lovers. In this installment, we watch as everything comes to a climax that will leave you shaking in your boots. Sebastian, is under extreme pressure as he begins to question his loyalties and everyone else's. He also feels the need to protect Taylor, who he deeply loves and adores. I loved how Taylor and Sebastian grew, not only as a couple; but as individuals as well throughout this series. One thing that did remain the same was their deep love for one another, and of course Sebastians possessiveness!
I was very impressed with Taylor, as I felt that her strength really shone in this book. I always thought of her as somewhat weak; but she blew that out of the water in "Inferno."
The sex continued to be primal, explosive, and downright blazin hot! I really have no complaints about this book, but I also do not have a ton to say as I don't want to spoil anything for readers.
All I can say, is this is a MUST Read! I will miss Sebby and Taylor; but honestly, I can't wait to see what is in store for Adriana Noir next! I will be waiting to see what she brings out in the future and I will be one of the first in line to read whatever she decides to write!

With this final installment, one of my favorite series comes to an end. What a bittersweet feeling this is, what a great journey!
Inferno had it all, nail-biting suspense, angst, romance and passion delivered through impeccable writing- I love Adriana's style of writing, it's like she has written SKALS with every book preference of mine in mind. I have to mention that I thought inferno was HOT (no pun intended).

description

I fell in love with Sebastian from the first book, I remember finishing it and thinking this is one of my favorite male heroes to date. My issue with him in this installment is that he becomes too emotional ( this is a pet peeve of mine and has nothing to do with the character), I don't believe I will be one of many. I just wanted to shake him a few times and scream "Sebby, snap out of it, we need you". Having said that, Sebby is and will remain a great hero, broken, twisted, loyal, loving and protective.

description

Taylor is a lot stronger in this book, she had her doubts and her moments of fear but she is stronger, more confident and is Sebby's rock. There was a mention of dinner parties that made me laugh out loud, poor Taylor.

“Just like that, her heart sank. She tried not to let her reluctance show. Dinner parties had never been kind to them”

description

The supporting characters were perfectly written.

Josh is a clown for a lot of the book, he became a source of annoyance where in previous books I adored him, let me say he worried me throughout this book.

Marx is one of the most hateful villains I have read about, I really wanted to torture him!

This book was totally worth the wait, I would have loved a more detailed epilogue but all in all perfect!

I enjoyed BR this with my lovely ladies, Nance and Ash, thank you for being great ranting partners, also Suz and Vera who love Sebby as much as I do.

With each passing month until the Release of Adriana Noir's SKALS Finale, I found myself getting more anxious...so many questions at the conclusion of book 3. What happened? Who would live/die? How in the hell would she push this psychologically erotic thriller more than she already has? I was not prepared for this dynamo of a read that gut punched me into taking a long slow tug of a cold beer!

I will start by welcoming back Agent Sebastian Baas...

He was both heaven and hell, the beginning and the end, but nothing was more beautifully broken than this man...
Still the intense hardened beauty, but now with complete vulnerability shining through. With the threats and almost loss of Taylor he is now even more determined to protect what is his. But how can you win against an evil so foul, so powerful...who can he trust and what will he have to do...I want you to promise me when this is all said and done that you will try to still see something good in me. Try not to see me as the monster, even if that's what I have to be."

It would seem as if Taylor has dug in deep to the core of this man-made killer Don't get me wrong...Sebby may be feeling the pressure, he may be coming a bit unhinged, but at no time has his dominance wavered. His need for control is intensified and his conflicting behaviors will have you beyond nervous!

Kudos to Ms. Noir for giving Taylor true character. I struggled for most of the series to connect to her, but what a fabulous evolution of a weak young girl into a submissive pillar of strength. She walked a fine line with Seb as she offered comfort while still taking the "punishments" that brought them closer, as for this couple "There was beauty in the violence." In the end his "treatment" of Taylor may have been her saving grace as she was unbreakable when facing the most horrific evil.

I struggled with this series in the beginning...very harsh, very dark, very hard to find redeeming qualities in Sebastian and Taylor. As I went deeper into the SKALS, I was rocked at how it consumed me. This is not for the feint of heart looking for a taboo love story.

This is a psychological mind bender...a chess match of wills and intelligence, only the winner gets to live. Lucky for the reader, Ms. Noir also gives you a fabulously unique "love story" that is twisted and fragile, yet nonetheless consuming!

5 - How is it possible to still be so damn awesome after 4 books Stars!!

Adriana Noir- Hats off to you lady, DAMN!
clapping photo: clapping Clapping-1.gif

Since book 1, I have been drawn in to all that is SKALS and all that is Sebby. You must read these books in order, and you can not skip around because you will be lost in them. My heart broke so many times throughout this series and I had so many WTF moments, it was dark, it was gritty, it was a love story and it was a mess all at the same time. I was seriously worried about book 4 because I didn't want to loss that crazy feeling but I can not say enough how masterful Adriana Noir is to make this book just as good, if not better than the rest of the series. I feel in love with Sebby even more this book, we do see a little gentler side of him, but its not cute and cuddly, its Sebby doing what is honorable and right.
expendables photo: expendables expendables.jpg
There is drama, tragedy and lord oh lord- so serious messed up moments cause Boss Man is NUTS. But what goes up must come down and Karma is an ugly bitch and Seb is the man to deliver it.

We get closure with this book and it is so sweet and needed that is feels like the sun just came out after a long winter. AMAZING.

I highly anticipated this final book. In fact, I went back and re-read the previous 3 books in preparation for this final book. It was with high expectations that I started reading the final book, Inferno and sadly, I was not impressed. Perhaps my expectations were high, but I don't think so. Sebastian, Taylor, Marx and The SKALS were some of the most creative characters I have read to date. Each personality was very different from anything that's currently out there. It took me 2.5 days to finish the book. So NO, I do not think my expectations for greatness were too high.

The times when Sebastian was being tough as nails Sebastian and Taylor was being Taylor, it was an enjoyable read. However, it was not enough to carry the story. A few more characters and some previous characters were included in the story. At times, I found it difficult to keep track of some of the random people. Some of the best parts of the story kept you guessing who was for and who was against Sebastian! These interesting scenes kept me engaged where I was thinking one thing, only to have it play out differently.

As with the previous books in the series, the action scenes were spectacular to read! They were so detailed and vivid that I felt included in the scene. Adriana Noir has a real talent writing these action scenes!

Overall, as mentioned above, Sebastian and Taylor were a different and awesome couple that I thoroughly enjoyed. They were edgy, funny and above all, trusting of each other. The level of dedication that they displayed was beautiful. Some may find issues/fault with Taylor being weak. However, if you can handle dealing with Sebby, and not leaving, I'd say that makes you VERY strong!! This series was excellent and goes to my favorite shelf. I'd love a novella featuring a longer epilogue to check in on Sebby and Taylor....food for thought!

Why Not 5 Stars?

Repetitive and thus dragged. The first 75% of the story was: Sebastian getting into it with Marx OR an incident occurred, coming home venting to Taylor, confessions of their unbreakable forever love, hardcore sex. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. While this was hot in the beginning, I found that the majority of their nights were spent this way. Each and every day/incident ended with the declarations of love and then hot sex. The sex continued to be smoking hot, but at some point, I was like...yeah, I get it, you guys love and will never leave each other, now lets move on! Because of this, I felt the story dragged.

Sebastian changed, and not in a good way! A lot of Sebastian's edge was taken away from him in this book, which I did not like. He was disrespected by so many people that it weakened his character, in my opinion. The constant second guessing himself, tears, desperation, declarations of better tomorrows and world peace...not my Sebastian. At some point, he became defeated and he started to get on my nerves and depress me. Taylor appeared stronger than him in this book. I hate when authors feel the need to weaken the anti-hero for redemption. In Sebastian's case, this was not needed. I thought he fully explained his actions to their unexpected dinner guest when Sebastian went over why he did what he did to Taylor (that scene was very cleaver by the way). While some of this life reflection was needed, the tears, self-loathing and hopelessness was not welcome.

The how's and why's of the drama were not fully explained and some of it missed the mark for me. For example, what was Marx's real deal with Sebastian? The guy they were looking for, which caused new heat, Hawaii, what happened to him? Were Laychee and Dominic part of Project Blue? What did Monique know, if anything? Some of the horrible incidents that happened, they were not fully explained as to who did them and why. A father and mother who showed up out of the blue did not make sense to me. And then the comment about them in the epilogue was totally not believable about them. Again, how/why did they get together. I wanted and needed closure on The SKALs and Project Blue, including all of the various incidents that happened. I wanted to know who knew what, when and their level of involvement. Unfortunately, I did not get this.

The epilogue was WAY too short and failed to tie together all of the loose ends effectively. The last 10% of the book felt very rushed to me. We literally had disposition of the drama with a comment about going home then right into a very short epilogue. I still had a bunch of questions that were not answered, which was disappointing. *sigh*

This book ruined me in so many ways... I just.. I DONT KNOW HOW TO FEEL AFTER ALL THIS.
description
Taylor and Sebastien have gone through so much together.... It's amazing that they lasted so long. To be honest, I expected Taylor to run away at some point and have Sebastien realize that he's a prick for the way he's treating her
BUT
He actually admitted that he regretted the way he hit her and that makes me so fucking happy. He's not a sick son of a bitch after all.
description
I wasn't happy with this story in the beginning but later on, Taylor and Sebastien grew on me and I really enjoyed it after all.
It's funny, I thought "Baas" in the beginning was "Boss" in a Brooklyn accent from Josh but when everyone called Sebastien that, I thought it was a nickname from "SeBAStien" and then at the end when he says I was like oh hey that's his last name... I feel really silly at the moment
description
During the ending my heart was breaking, I had to skim pages to be honest because I COULD NOT put myself through the torture of Sebastien and Taylor a part from each other...
description
DOES MONIQUE AND JOSH HAVE A STORY? I'm going to go check that out soon... I love them.
Despite the heart ache, the abuse, and the confusion, I enjoyed this series.

Sorry , i thought it was boring as hell. Sebby cried most of the book, while he bickered with Marx until 90% where he saw the light! I'm still wondering why Marx didn't just killed him and kept threatening him instead. The rest of the book were recopilations of scenes from the previous books.

It just didn't do for me.

5 Brilliant Explosive Perfect Stars!!!

This series is BRILLIANT! The ending was EXPLOSIVE! My heart was pounding so hard!!! It was that good it gave me that book high after reading! And with the most PERFECT ending! Love it!!!

To think I had to wait for Amazon to release Sebby! But it was well worth the wait!

This has been one of my most awaited series since it got me obsessed with Sebby from the beginning of the series.

He is Sebby when he is all good and sweet and hot and heated.... and Sebastian when he is deadly, intense, rigid, controlling and unpredictable.... or in other words, scary! There is nothing soft when it comes to Sebastian! ;) And I love him just the way he is. He was built that way and I wouldn't want to change anything!

So when Sebby goes all weepy and trembling, when all that desperation sets in, I really couldn't care less!!! That is not my Sebby!!! But I'm willing to let that go. ;) I thought it unnecessary.... cause he always has that intensity, the passion and compassion that he kept hidden...

Taylor's character has come a long way! She is though still scared (like I would be), she is also stronger. I love her complete devotion and loyalty to Sebby and I love the fight she's got in her.

What a beautiful ride this was!!!! I thank you Ms. Noir for keeping me on my toes, for never knowing where the story was heading... and for the unpredictable Sebby that I will miss! Well, now that I thought of him, now I just want more.

This book is intense; there is always that never ending threat in the air!!! It's violent, edgy, angsty, shocking and yet romantic, hot and passionate! And how about that surprising turn in the end? Certainly did not expect that!!!!

And there are a whole lot of other interesting characters that you'd either love to hate or love... I most specially love to hate the most evilest villain, Marx!!!

I am grateful for Silvana for BR this with me!!!! Thank you for wickedly telling me to go ahead and panic and eat more chocolate while I kept waiting for my Amazon to release Sebby... then thank you for giving me a heads up when the book became live finally cause then I committed the Sebby crime of forgetting! 4 Stars!

This is the last book in the SKALS series and I'd say it was also by far the BEST book among all.

I'm happy to inform that the "routine punishing scene" between Sebastian and Taylor was drastically cut off. Yey!

As much as I enjoyed this book, it kinda fell short to my taste since I was really looking forward to how the project blue would take place and how Sebastian would bring Marx down. However, I was a disappointed because all the action only took place at the last 20% of this book, thus resulting to a rushed ending. My excitement was somehow shortlived because just when I was enjoying the suspense and finger-biting scenes..bam...Epilogue... I really hope the author add more pages on the last part because it kinda felt like the loose end were forcibly tied just to provide us with a Some I find even irrelevant Also, I was kinda looking forward to

Also, I understand the hard situation that Sebastian is dealing with because he cannot make drastic decision in solving the project blue since he has to put Taylor and their unborn child's safety ahead of everything. But his bad-ass threats just felt like bluff for me since none of those threats ever happened.

Every time he made a threat... I was like yeah I've heard about that already... Same old, same old... It's like he's all say and no action

BUT I must say that I was glad at least this book doesn't come up boring, at least it lifts up my view on the whole series a little bit despite its rushed endings.

What the fuck was that ending? What the fuck?? Is this how it ends? They will not talk about the consequences of what happened (her traumas and everything else), they will leave it to “recovery was difficult” ???? What the fuck! I would been better if I hadn’t read it, it only gets good at the last part HOWEVER the end, itself, was actually terrible, horrible, negligent, hasty, incoherent and rushed!

THIS BOOK CONTAINS GRAPHIC VIOLENCE

One complaint : I do NOT like the nickname that Taylor calls Sebastian.. Sorry, but a tough sometimes brutal man should not be called Sebby. It just feels all wrong.

Great thing:

The ending seemed a little rushed, but considering what I liked about the ending (see spoiler tag), that's ok.

NOTE to AUTHOR: Because it had been so long between this book and the last, I felt that the author should have refreshed our memory at times, when she was talking about certain characters and events that took place. I found myself struggling to remember events and secondary characters.

All in all, a good series..

5 big fat shiny stars!
I can't believe this is all over.
This book delivered and more! Towards the end we got to see a different side to Sebastian, I felt we needed that! He's still badass and mean (at times) throughout though! ;)
My ONLY moan, would be that I felt the ending was slightly rushed. I came to 99% and the epilogue just started. I wanted more. I wanted to see how they coped after the big bang towards the end. After what they both went through I wanted to see them reunite.
This is the end of Sebby..... *sigh*

what can I say..I wanted Marx dead..what a great tyrant he was.
forgot about Taylor's friend still being held..yuck
Sebby is still dark and has lots of demons..Taylor helps lighten his mood
but he still has that heavy belting hand that I detested..he is abusive.
Xander..the off spring..sweet family ending

**** spoilerish ****
Not sure why I stuck with this series, guess I was invested enough that I wanted to see how it ended. Even though the hero was in law-enforcement, I still consider him an anti-hero. No problem, I love a good bad ass antihero, but he didn’t even seem that bad ass, more just out of control, unhinged. The heroine was boring, but didn’t deserve being tortured. The protagonist was just over the top, out of control, too. Just too much violence and threatening violence for violence’s sake, it seemed like.

I read all 4 books in this series. It kept me interested until the very end. I thought most of the male characters were psychotic. If I ever met anyone like Sebastian I would run far far away as fast as I could. Taylor is a sweetheart which made it easier for Sebastian to completely take over her life. I can easily understand how Sebastian trained Taylor to accept his brand of crazy but I must admit I didn't like Sebastian. The storyline was intense with some scenes that may not be for every reader. It is a well written series . I recommend it.

The lines are drawn. After stumbling across news of Project Blue and all it entails. Sebastian is left reeling. He realizes the world as he knows it and the lives of everyone he loves now hangs in a delicate balance. Bit by bit, new pieces come to play and it seems following Marx's orders are the only way to survive the potential aftermath but at what cost? If the ruthless commander succeeds, SKALS will become an all-consuming regime that brings the world to it's knees. If he rebels, Marx will kill him and go after everyone he loves, including Taylor and their unborn child. But the burden of guilt rests heavy. The brief glimpses of life and love he's experienced have opened the jaded agent's eyes and he can't help but wonder, with SKALS at the helm, what kind of existence would anyone lead?

No matter which path Sebastian chooses, he stands to lose everything he's ever loved. Taylor is in more danger than ever, and with other government agencies closing in, he quickly discovers there is nowhere to run-nowhere to turn. Resolve will crumble. Alliances will shift, and SKALS will be torn apart from the inside out. Their life is in violent upheaval, but there is no looking back. No second chances. In order to save himself and the woman he loves, Sebastian might have to take a final stance against Marx and the brutal organization he leads, but taking the man down won't be easy.

The drums of war beat loader. Only time will tell who, and what, will remain standing in the end.

OMGahhhhhhh Adriana Noir did it again! It took me awhile to read it only because real life is a pain in my A$$. I LOVE Sebby and you will too! I read Sinister Kisses SKALS Book #1 a year ago and fell in love with Sebby, and he is the Alpha of all ALPHAS!!!

Oh my how things have changed since the beginning of the series, Sebby was just tormented in this book and I felt my heart break for him. I really thought he was going to break at some point and maybe in a way he did but because of that it drove him to fight harder for Taylor and his unborn child.

You Adriana Noir made me feel Sebastian pain at 83% of the book, I mean I was sobbing like I was in mourning. This book was so emotional because one minute I wanted to kick Marx a$$ and the next Sebby had me melting in his hand with his over protectiveness of Taylor. Let's not forget to mention Josh, in which I loved but now not so much. Even in the end I was like WTF!?!?

As for Taylor she really did her best with Sebastian throughout the whole book, she became his rock when he felt defeated. She became a strong character and in the end you will understand why, so I suggest you 1-click it.

If you like action pack, a$$ kicking, and alpha males then you'll love the whole SKALS Series! Go and 1-Click it right away people!

I don't know what you have planned for the future Adriana but you are one of the most talented, humble, down to earth author's I have the pleasure of chatting with and hopefully one day I get to meet you! Thank You for sharing your writing, it's a bittersweet ending but can't wait to see what is in store for you!

I Give Adriana Noir

I will be honest , the first 80% was very very very good with suspense and tension, keeping me glued to the story . But the last 20% was like an anti climax (specialy the last 10%), the charaters acting differently from their personnality. I was expecting sooo much more from Sebastian 's revenge against all the bads guys (torture, torture and more torture for one year ... at last). But it take him only bullets and one spark to finish them . Sooo anti climax!!!
Ditto for Marx , his behavior towards the end was not up to this pervert, cruel , monstrous and full of himself character . Yes he tortures Taylor, but we don't see him trying to break her , to "make" her his pet (just look at how he is acting towards his men and poor Irene). And him not noticing Taylor's pregnancy ... not bying it!

NO NO NO . This end, for me, was not up to this serie. It was too rushed, with problems solved too easily .

Inferno....wow...wtf did I just read! I'm almost unsure how to review it.

Ok. Deep breath. Inferno is a compelling end to the SKALS series. It's dark. It's gritty. It makes one want to cry at the angst the hero and heroine endure. And I absolutely hated, despised and winced at the torture the heroine endured...whhhhhyyy?? It gutted me. Thank goodness I was hooked on this series and had to read the hero get his hea or I would have avoided the deep darkness that is Inferno.

The only part of Inferno I didn't like was the torture the heroine endured.

The epilogue. Perfect.

I wished every sick b'stard who took part in the heroine's torture got Marx's justice.

Inferno was an intense end to the SKALS series but not my favorite
that is the first book in this series, Sinister Kisses.
