I wasn't very impressed with this version of Dora. Perhaps it was just the adaptation but it was lacking in detail and interest for me and the younger girls I read it to.

"Footloose" or preschoolers. I read this for Movement and Music, and it went okay at best. I know that reading an Easy Reading for a Storytime program is not the best idea, but I wanted to try something different. The kids liked it because it was Dora. I got the pity clap at the end of the story from the parents so I know it wasn't great.

It's basically Footloose, with a tarted-up Dora in for Kevin Bacon. Also, when the chips are down and it's time to convince the Mayor to allow dancing, Dora takes a pass on Ecclesiastes and just summons a giant spider. Sure, why not?

I think that the author must have gotten really high while watching Footloose with their child. This was surreal, bizarre, and total crap.
