Falling into bed with your brother’s best friend was probably never going to end well, but when Sara wakes up to a hastily scrawled note that reads ‘This never happened’ she realises just how badly she screwed up.
Since that moment, Sara has done her best to avoid Fletcher at all costs. Yet, when her brother invites her on a group holiday in Alaska to escape her heartache, she reluctantly accepts… only to find herself snowed in with the one person she should hate the most.
This book contains explicit sexual content. Recommended for 18+.
Jade Church is putting the ‘O’ in romance with her high-heat and swoony romance books. Jade currently lives in the U.K. and when she’s not cuddling her cats or writing, she spends the majority of her time reading and binge re-watching The Vampire Diaries.
I loved this Christmas story! With a hint of enemies to lovers, forbidden romance and lots of spice, what more could you want?!
This book follows the story of Sara, who happens to be snowed in with her older brothers bestfriend… What starts off as an awkward encounter soon blossoms into something more…
I’m not usually a lover of rom-com vibes but sometimes I can make an exception and this is definitely one of them! The dialogue was sweet and it had me smiling throughout the book. I was a big fan of the development of Sara and Fletchers relationship as it seemed to be slowburn even though it was a short book.
After reading Temper the Flame by Jade Church, I had high expectations for this book and she didn’t let me down!

One word: WOW. I am obsessed with this book! There are so many aspects that I loved, such as the romance, the setting, the writing, the characters, the family aspect. I really, really loved this book.
Firstly, Fletcher and Sara’s relationship. I loved how their relationship progressed. From being two awkward people to becoming a loving partnership and healthy relationship. I kinda found this to be an “enemies to lovers” type of story which is my favourite ever trope. Despite this being a book on the shorter side, I still felt as though it was a slow-burn romance and that the romance wasn’t rushed which is a big no-no for me. The romance really took its time to blossom.
I loved the relationship between Rob and Fletcher and Sara and how this grew throughout the book. How the issues between them all were resolved and how their relationship changed in to something loving and healthy.
Also, can we talk about that epilogue?!? How emotional it made me was ridiculous, I loved seeing Fletcher and Sara in the future and seeing how they were with baby Cammie.
Overall I really, really loved this book. I can’t wait to read more from Jade! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
❄ Brother's best friend ❄ Second Chance Romance ❄ Wedding hookup to enemies to lovers ❄ Stuck in the snow ❄ Perfect Christmas Rom-Com read
It was just the thing to get into the Christmas theme. Sweet and Steamy. I loved how all the characters had their flaws and even though this was mainly about Sara and Fletcher,it was also about Sara and Rob mending their relationship. I also loved how the character felt so real!
The overall story is a cute idea. The main characters obviously have chemistry, and the sister with the brothers best friend is a great trope. It was a nice change to see (spoiler) the brother was actually the one encouraging the relationship, when typically in this trope we see the brothers get horrifyingly angry and fight the best friend.
My main issue with this book were more on a fundamental level. Lots of punctuation and grammatical errors. Many times the author seemed to switch between American English and British (?) English. I’m not sure where the author is from originally, but it’s a safe bet she’s not American. Writing a book that takes place in Alaska would assume American English, but if she’s writing it for a mostly overseas audience, then that’s fine too. It bothered me to feel the text was constantly switching.
While I’m sure this was designed as a novella, I think it could easily be stretched into a full novel with more character development and maybe a little less “I love you” on the third day. But overall, a cute and easy read.
Sara and Fletcher are officially one of my favourite couples. They literally made me want a boyfriend with whom i could cuddle with. I feel so alone.
This was a quick read with a cute couple ( ik I've said this before but they are cute!) Who i love so much.
The writing was brilliant and not too confusing. It was simple and beautiful. I loved everything. I'm looking forward to reading more books from the author.
Oh my god I loved this! This was everything I needed right now, it was sweet, hot as fuck, laugh out loud funny and such an easy read! We do love some festive/seasonal smut with a sweet romance too.
Can’t wait to read more books in the future 🤩

This was the most adorable and steamy Christmas romcom!
Tropes:
❄ Brother's best friend ❄ Second Chance Romance ❄ Wedding hookup to enemies to lovers ❄ Stuck in snow ❄ Perfect christmas Rom-Com read
It was just the thing to get into the Christmas theme. Sweet and Steamy. I loved how all the characters had their flaws and even though this was mainly about Sara and Fletcher,it was also about Sara and Rob mending their relationship. I also loved how the character felt so real!
The grandfather that took Sara back home was the only side character in the book but even he had so much meaning. I was glad there weren't too many characters put there just for the sake of it.
Overall,it was a great Christmas read! And you should definitely give it a try.
3.5 stars for this fun book. I’m sure if it had been longer I would be giving it more stars. But it’s a fun, short, romantic, enemies to love type but with some of spice, which I always love in books!
First off, a huge thank you to Jade Church for sending me a digital ARC of this awesome romance! It did take me a bit longer than usual to read this. I have university to blame for that, but I looked forward to finishing my day off with a few pages every single day.
Also, CAREFUL! I do have some spoilers in here!!!
This book was a breath of fresh air [or should I say chilly?] It was exactly what I needed to pick me up from a small reading slump! The spice. Immaculate. The characters. Divine. The plot. IN LOVE. The book. NEED IN PHYSICAL COPY TO DISPLAY ON MY SHELVES!!! I loved the chemistry between Sara and Fletcher, it was just perfect. Obviously, the misunderstandings made me mad to the point that I almost there my phone across the room a few times (I despise misunderstandings, but they make such great makeup sexy time... as proven by this book). I also really liked how Rob and Tanya had known from the start that Fletcher and Sara had previously hooked up. even though it caused an argument between the brother and sister, I was kind of thankful for it since it got Sara and Fletcher to have some more alone time.
I have so much more to say about this book, but that would make for a drastically long review, so I'll just say PLEASE GET THIS BOOK!!!
If you're looking for a sexy, funny, cute, and snowed-in romance, then this book is definitely what you need.

It’s okay. Not bad but not great. If you want a quick read with more ‘spice’ then plot, then this is your book. This isn’t a bad book it just wasn’t the book for me.
I found it to be very cliché. The comebacks in arguments didn’t feel organic, but more like something you would think of after the fact and not during an argument. I got second hand embarrassment from a few comments made. The characters feel very 2D and stereotypical. I know it’s a short story but between the two main characters it was just sex. I didn’t get the feeling they liked each other at all and then all of a sudden fell into being caring and loving for one another
Felt a little bit like fanfiction spin off.
Temper Flame by this author I found to be a much better read.
The plot of this novel feels porn-ish. An uneventful string of moments whose only purpose is to pave the way for the sex scenes. There are so many plot holes that it would take me forever to list them. The spice is quite good. However, since I couldn’t really connect with the characters, I could not really enjoy it.
There are so many issues with this novel that I have decided to focus on some of them. First, characters laugh and chuckle all the time, and I keep on wondering what is funny. Then, Sara is portrayed as clumsy, which Fletch finds cute. I just hate it. The old cliché of the clumsy female, ridiculised time and again (she forgets to pack panties🙄, mistakes a robe hanging from a hook for an intruder 😳, a spark of electricity makes her scream, trip over and knock her head 🥴). What bothers me the most is the writer’s lack of effort in making readers invested in her characters. Until 70% of the plot we know literally nothing about them (only that they slept together once). We don't know what they do for a living, how old they are, what dreams they have... Neither of them seems to have other friends or relatives (except Sara's brother, funcional only to bring a wedding to the plot). It feels more of a sketch than a novel/la. By the end we are given pieces of information that simply don't fit (I mean, if Fletcher is such a "big-shot lawyer", shouldn't he at least get a call from work? Think about work at some point?). There's also a bit of magic realism in it. Get this: two adults have a drunken one-night stand. He wakes up, leaves her a note and walks out. Only he is still sooo drunk he falls asleep again on the floor waiting for the elevator. Even after hours of having drunk, even after having slept for a few hours. Then, he cannot remember much about it (is not sure what he wrote on the note and doesn’t remember talking to someone before falling asleep). But guess what? Every single detail of the sex he had is vividly ingrained in his brain. Even her smell. Worse still is chapter 21. Most ludicrous chapter I have ever read (and I have read lots and lots of romances of all types).
The premise is good, and if someone is looking for a shallow read with spicy moments, they might enjoy this
I don't really know where to start with this review😅
From the first page you are sucked in the story and you want to keep reading. When I started this book I didn't know I would love it as much as I did. Normally I am not really a big fan of romance books but after I read the free part on Amazon and got me screaming because I couldn't read further, I knew I had to get this book and read it.
And damn what a book, while I found some parts a little rushed and I wished to get to know more about the two characters, I did enjoy this book. I liked reading from both perspectives, so you get to know how the are feeling.
While I really enjoyed this book, I think it had more potential. While I loved how everything played out as it was, I was a bit disappointed about how Rob all handled it, I had expected to be more drama, I also got a totally different view to were the story went. I thought they would be snowed in all 4 and that they would have to be sneaky.
Overall I enjoyed the book, the author has such a nice writing style what results in the fact that you want to keep reading. I am looking forward to read the next books she will be writing.

Thank you Jade for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Am I now a sucker for holiday romances? Yes I absolutely am. This Never Happened is now firmly up there with some of my favourites.
Sara and Fletcher did friends to enemies to lovers so well, with a sprinkle of frustrating misunderstandings and the thrill of forced proximity thrown in there for good measure.
The spicy scenes were just *chef's kiss* and definitely hotter than I was expecting (even though the author warned us all!) But it was a welcome surprise! Their chemistry was undeniable.
I think I'll end up having to get myself a physical copy for my trophy shelf too!
If you're looking for a wintery, cozy, steamy romance then this is the book for you!
I received this little beauty as an ARC copy and I just have to say… Jade you did it again! This book was so cute (with the perfect amount of spice) and the perfect little winter romance that I didn’t know that I needed. Usually I gravitate towards dark romances but this was the perfect palate cleanser❤️🎄 Sara and Fletcher’s love story was swoon worthy and I loved every second. Fletcher, ugh I love that man. He is so sweet and a little dorky, which I think makes him more attractive. Sara is kind of a beautiful walking disaster. She’s awkward and clumsy but she has some fire in her for sure. Their personalities work so well together and created the perfect chemistry together.
This Never Happened has some of my favorite tropes Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and brother’s best friend. Maybe even a little parent trap moment 😉
If you’re looking for a quick, sexy, Rom-Com mixed with enemies-to-lovers vibes… This Never Happened is a great choice!
After Sara has a disaster of an after morning with her one night stand, Fletcher — her brother’s best friend — she has to deal with the consequences of being snowed in with a guy she’s way too attracted to and shouldn’t want.
What I loved about this book is that it felt like a scenario that I HOPE would happen to me 🤣 I don’t read a ton of RomComs but I didn’t feel as if the scenario between the two main characters was overdone at all. I thought that Sara and Fletch felt like real people and their awkwardness with each other is exactly what you’d feel in real life if you were in their shoes. And let’s talk about the SPICE 🥵🥵 well Jade knows how to write it!! You’re definitely going to need a walk in the snow afterwards, if you know what I mean 😉
I was kindly accepted to be apart of Jade’s ARC team for this book and I was super thrilled! If you love brothers best friend, forced proximity and spicy scenes then this book ticks all the boxes. I really liked the dynamics between Fletcher and Sara and the chemistry between them was INCREDIBLE. It was such a sweet and feel good novella! I really enjoyed this read! Definitely has the perfect amount of spice to warm up any cold winters night!
First of all thank you Jade Church for sending me an ARC of this book,
I loved this so much, it was so fun and steamy and just brilliant. I loved the characters and the fact that it contained both their POV's was even better, its so much better seeing both perspective in a romance story and the anticipation of seeing them both have feelings for each other but neither admitting had me so tense in a good way. These book contained some of my favourite tropes - brothers best friend and forced proxmity and it was written in such an entertaining and pleasurable way. Also the steam scenes were amazing, i loved this so much
its a nice quick read at 150 pages , i literally couldnt put this down and devoured it within one sitting :)
thank you jade for an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review ❤️
brother’s best friend strikes again! my absolute favourite trope, and the betrayal mixed into this!!
I absolutely devoured this book, its been a while since i read a book in one sitting 😍 incredible
so sara slept with her brother best friend at her brother’s wedding, doesnt talk to him for nearly a month and then get stuck with him on a holiday her brother invited her on …. recipe for disaster or not??
I absolutely adored the concept and the characters, i truly felt their chemistry. even more as this book is DUAL POV ❤️ so we got to see sara AND fletcher’s pov which was absolutely fabulous. also the spice in this, mmmm yes i loved it !!! 😮💨😮💨 fletcher hunny, i love u so much
This was super cute. It includes a lot of my favourite romance tropes (snowed-in! brother’s best friend!), and was sweet and funny from start to finish.
I felt like the characters had good chemistry, and watching them grow closer was really enjoyable. I also love a good game of truth or dare in a book! My only tiny critique is that I would have liked more of the background - maybe some flashbacks of their relationship from before and the original hookup. I wanted more of them and would have loved to get that earlier but of the story to better contextualise the present.
But either way it was really enjoyable. I recommend if you want a sweet, festive (but non-Christmassy) romance!
(I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review)
❄ Book Review ❄ I just want to thank Jade Church for allowing me to be a part of her ARC team and to review her work.
This was an amazing holiday read, perfect for the holidays. I can actually see this book becoming a movie in the near future. Sara was a sweet female MC and Fletcher was the perfect male MC. They had such great chemistry, but at times they did misunderstand each other. There was definitely some laughable moments. The story flowed really well, but I wanted a little more build up between the character.
I felt that there was a nice little message within the book. I would give this 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5. If you love romance tropes such as brothers best friend and forced proximity, this is perfect for you. Overall great read for this time of year.
I really enjoyed this fun, festive, light hearted read. The characters are relatable, the plot-line entertaining and the smut… well, you’re going to have to read that yourselves 🔥🔥
Tropes: - snowed in - Brothers best friend - Second chance romance
If you’re anything like me, these tropes are some of my favourites! Brothers best friend? Yes please! And we were definitely not disappointed in this book. Brothers best friend? YUMMY!
Such a cute read!!! I'm really glad I was able to receive this ARC because I really enjoyed this book, it made laugh on more than one occasion and definitely gave me butterflies in others.
Both main character are wonderful, Sara is a little hard headed and stubborn and Fletcher is just the absolute sweetest.
I'm giving this book at 5/5. I really enjoyed the story line, the characters and the pace of the book. It was as very easy and entertaining read. Loved it!!
This was such a great light read! I received an ARC of This Never Happened and I'm so glad I did!
The development of Sara and Fletcher's relationship is adorable and I find myself rooting for them throughout the entire book, even though in my opinion Sara can be a bit rash at times, that is exactly why we love these kinds of characters even more!
I was reading this on my train journey and couldn't put it down at all. Despite having work to do, this story lingered on my mind until I picked it back up and finished reading in one sitting. Yes, it was that addicting!
This Never Happened felt like the best feel-good Hallmark movie I have ever watched, so I'd say for anyone who is a fan of Christmas-themed spicy romances, but don't want a story that is too long, This Never Happened is perfect for you.
This book had the promise of a fun, steamy, Christmas read. We were given a snowed-in cabin, very few steamy scenes, a lot of familial tension, and characters having shocking news that I literally didn't care about. The first complaint is, can we stop using clumsy as something to define all main female characters? Really sick of that trope because it's just useless, people can slip and fall and not be clumsy. The second complaint is the time skip at the end didn't make sense to me, because this book was supposed to just be a simple Christmas romance. My Last complaint, why should I care what is going on in the brother's life? I am picking up this book for the promise of ~romance~ not the promise of family drama. Sure it helps with the plot, but when there isn't a much-established plot at the beginning, why do I care now. Also HOW many times does she have to mention that she bonded with her now sister-in-law when planning the wedding. Anytime they brought her up it was prefaced with that, which honestly was annoying. There are far better books that accomplish what this one was trying to. I did like the authors writing style and I will probably read some of their other books in the future.
Boring and bland. Writing style and content is childish but even the fanfic I read as a teenager was better than this. The “spice” if you even want to call it that was boring and not lengthy or explained at all. It was like “we started having sex, we continued having sex, we snuggled” like it wouldn’t even last 2 pages. The story was rushed and didn’t have me interested at all. There was no suspense leading up to them finally getting together or anything. It was too long to be a smutty one-shot-esc book and too short to have any kind of good plot. It was somewhere in the middle in no-man’s-land. Overall not good.
I received an ARC of This Never Happened in exchange for an honest review.
This one took me a lot longer to finish than I was expecting. I really enjoyed the premise and I think it was a well-timed seasonal release. If you’re looking for a Christmassy brother’s best-friend romance then This Never Happened should definitely be on your tbr. It’s a cute, short, spicy read that could be enjoyed by most.
My main issue with it was the transitions between Sara and Fletcher’s pov. Sometimes the switch between their perspectives was not as seamless as I would’ve liked e.g. starting a Fletcher pov for only 2 pages of the chapter and then transitioning to Sara for the rest of the chapter. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if we got Sara’s pov the entire time because it didn’t feel like Fletcher’s added much to the story. However, if you typically read dual povs/love reading books from both perspectives I don’t think you’ll find much of a problem with that.
*spoiler* I also would’ve loved it if we read the morning after scene in ‘real-time’ rather than as a flashback. Maybe if the prologue gave us a little more about Sara and Fletcher’s angst before the wedding and then ended with her reading the note that would’ve captured me a lot more.
All in all, if you’re looking for a snowy, spicy, brother’s best friend romance I think This Never Happened would definitely suit your needs.
Sleeping with your brothers best man and friend at his wedding seems bad enough... but waking up to an empty bed and the words "this never happened" scrawled hastily on a piece of paper is a whole other problem in itself.
Just when things seem to be at an all time low, Sara and Fletcher must now spend a trip together with her brother and his wife... that is if they ever arrive.
Snowed in and left with nowhere to go, the pair are left in each others company... and well, I think we all know where this may be heading...
This novel was the perfect winter read, with the book being quick, easy, and extremely wholesome! Of course, the added spice also made this read an interesting and fun one too!
The characters were extremely likeable and the plot was easy to follow and made for an enjoyable reading experience!
If anything, I wish there was more of a slow-burn romance rather than the relatively insta-love that took place, but that's very much a personal preference of mine!
This Never Happened definitely gave me Unhoneymooners vibes, but make it winter, and id definitely recommend this to any romance lovers looking for something short and sweet over the holiday and winter season!
This was another little lovely book by Jade Church, and I can't wait to read more of her future works!
