Foreign, or rather unfamiliar, would be the word I would use to describe how I felt.

Faintly, I could hear the glimmer of voices surrounding me in this dark haze, caressing my ears like skin against silk. I felt like I was in a cocoon of sorts, protectively enveloped, quietly drifting in some far-off place. I wanted to stay that way forever.

But we all know that what you want never really seems to happen in the real world.

Something’s not right in Mia’s head.

The first thing is that her name isn’t Mia. In fact, she has no clue what her name is—who she is. All that she knows is that she’s not like the ones who found her: Dante with his kind blue eyes, Amy with her child-like demeanor, James with his questioning gaze.

And Briggs.

The one she cannot decipher no matter how hard she tries.

As Mia tries to fit in with these people, a strange occurrence is amidst outside. And as she finally remembers who she is …

Well, let’s just say that things get a little more complicated.

I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of Reap for part of a book tour hosted by Girls Heart Books Tours, this will in no way effect my opinion on the book.

I really couldn't pass up the opportunity to join this tour seeing as though I've read almost all of her other books already, and I'm glad that I didn't.

Reap is a novella, a story of only 92 pages, which of course makes it difficult for me to say too much without spoiling anything. Don't worry I shall try my best.

As Reap is split into parts, I shall split my review too. Hopefully this'll make things a little clearer.

Part One.

Lying on the floor. Dazed. No memory. No name. No sense of familiarity.

This is how Mia awakes, how we awake, how the book starts.

I really like this because the world and characters are getting introduced to both Mia and yourself at the same time, which makes it very easy to follow and relate because as she finds her ground, you too find yours.

Aside from Mia there are four other characters. Dante, Amy, James and Briggs.

These become her unconventional family, and as the story progresses we see how her relationships with them develop.

Particularly Dante. Whether or not you want to class this as insta-love or not is up to you, I'm leaning more towards the not because with it being a novella the time can jump quickly so whilst you can see them growing to like each other quickly (as in pages), at the same time it can be seen as weeks passing because obviously we're not getting a day to day account of Mia adjusting to her new lifestyle.

Oh and theres a few things I've not pointed out either, that are particularly important.

One, Mia can't speak.

Two, there is an unknown danger outside. (Okay it's not unknown to me any more, and you do find out what it is after about ...30 pages? but spoilers).

Due to this "unknown danger" and Briggs' very strange and off behaviour there is a lot of tension on questioning throughout the first, but of course also reading this from the point of view of a character with a lack of memory leads to this too!

Part Two.

This part is called remembering.

But it's not just about our Mia remembering her life from before waking up on the floor, it's actually set during that time.

So we are thrown back.

It's actually a little confusing because whilst we recognise it's Mia's life, there is a lot of new things happening that don't quite knit neatly part one.

But it's great to see how strongly she has felt for certain people, to realise how deep love can run.

I really enjoyed this part. It seemed so full of life. (Ironically, I guess?) Probably due to how emotions are a very lively aspect. No matter how the effect us.

But luckily it does all get explained and linked up in part three.

Part Three.

Part three of which I can't review. It's the shortest part and it's where everything falls into place.

It would be far too spoiler worthy for me to utter a word from it, maybe even deathly.

Who knows what's out there.

Do you know how it feels to open your eyes, and find a room full of strangers staring at you? Not moved to speak, only conversing with a simple nod or shake of your head. When you don't know how you came to be in the strange apartment, and given a name, as no one knows what to call you? The newly named Mia does.

Mia can't seem to speak or write, but at least she has a warm bed and a safe place for her to stay. The streets aren't safe for women, after a string of kidnappings and gruesome deaths. Learning to find her feet within the group of an unlikely family, the kind and warm hearted Dante, the effervescent and infectious Amy, James who is intelligent yet sarcastic, but the most cautious is Briggs. Snide, snappy and secretive, but what is it about him that seems so foreign, yet familiar to Mia.

What if she never remembers?

When Mia starts losing hope, a restless night, dreaming...
She remembers, she remembers everything.
She remembers the broken life, her best friend that would do anything for her, the love, the hatred.

She remembers him.

Reap kept me guessing from start to finish, and I had no idea where the story was heading. I couldn't help but constantly wonder who Mia was and why she had no recollection. The book is told in three parts, Forgetting, Remembering and Knowing. It's a beautiful blend of emotion, mystery and anxiety, not knowing where the story is heading.

Mia is a likeable character, and sets the pace for Reap, the story only moving forward due to how much Mia can remember.

Sophie dreams about her late lover, Ethan, and wishes she could stay in that dreamstate forever. She'd be consumed by grief, except her best friend Liam won't allow it. Will his efforts be enough?

The beginning of this story really pulls you into it. By the end of part one, I was really curious to know about this girl's circumstances and eager to dig in deeper. Even though part two takes you back in time, it quickly helps you put all the pieces together.

Guilt. Grief. Tragedy. My guess at the connection
between the two parts of the story was correct, but I couldn't figure out what was going to happen next!

This story... What a great message! It's emotional, twisted and yet sweet. A good contemporay read with a shocking paranormal twist.

The entire time, right from the first page, I was intrigued and kept in suspense. I couldn't leave, I have to continue reading Reap!

The protagonist was unfamiliar with the people and her surroundings that captures readers attention as going through her emotions and her mind's eye is truly captivating. Mia couldn't even remember anything from her past or truly where she had come from. Not a slightest clue on what situation she got herself in, readers are left to find out. Flashbacks, and true events are revealed at the end that are overwhelming.

There are disturbing scenes that I have read, where Mia's choices are concern. That part was particularly the reason why she had ended up to a place and was met by people whom she barely knows. There's also a person she meets that seems to be tugging at her heart for no reason. She couldn't remember. The choice she has made, I thought of it to be such an exaggeration but I know she didn't do what she did intentionally. It took a while to unravel her memories. I couldn't have seen the events coming and how it all turns out. Unpredictable ending of the novella that startled me, in a positive way.

It kept me on edge of my seat and certainly, it is a fast-paced and well-written book. I enjoyed the novella and hoping a series would be made out of it because it deserves to have one! I will definitely read it too! A very thrilling read without having to worry about what it really all is about. You just have to enjoy the roller coaster ride of emotions and scenes happening before you! If you love surprises and plot twists, this book is definitely for you! It's absorbing!

Mia chose where she rightfully belongs, where her heart is truly after. Reap shares a fairly good illustration of what afterlife might look like and it isn't made easily for, its got consequences to come.

Review: I was given a copy of Reap by Ashley’s Reading Bliss in exchange for an honest review. The book is broken into three different parts. Which I thought was interesting. I haven’t read many books like that. The beginning she has no idea who she is or how she got where she was. The middle is where she remembers her old life and the end was where everything comes back together and everything changes.

I found this book to be pretty cool. At first I wasn’t sure what was going on but the more I read the better I understood. It is a short and interesting novella. There is a hint of paranormal but not overwhelming. This book was different from others that I have read but I enjoyed the vibe I got from this book and I give it 4 out 5 stars.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank Christina Channelle, author of Reap, for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this awesome book.

The whole story is amazing. I felt a little bit confused at first and it seemed that the pace is too fast for me to be comfortable with but slowly the pace became normal and I could lose myself within the plot and enter into the life of the characters. I think the main reason behind this is that the book is a novella and in most cases I found that novellas are always a bit rushed and end with unanswered questions but this book succeeded in laying down a perfect opening ground for the following novel.

This book really involves an interesting mystery as we find that the protagonist Mia wakes up totally blank minded and doesn’t remember even her name. Then the story slowly continues and part by part Mia’s memory comes back and a very surprising even shocking revelation awaits the readers at the ending chapters.

I liked the concept and the plot and also loved the detailed descriptions that the author provided. Though I felt a little uncomfortable at first but the smooth writing style of the author brought me back within the story. The characterization is good but the background of the individual characters is missing and we don’t get to know much about them.

The emotions are portrayed remarkably within the skilled words of the author that bound me with the characters and also made me cry. The world building is great and the whole story seemed believable given the vivid details of the surroundings.

Overall a great read and would like to recommend it to ya all and hope that you guys will like it. Enjoy!!!

Christina Channelle is one of the few authors who I feel the need to buy every book she writes! Reap is a very quick, fun, suspenseful paranormal read. Reap was definitely a Five Star book to me!

I loved the main character. Despite not knowing who she is and the fact that she’s mute, Mia is a lively character who quickly finds her way into the hearts of Dante and his sister Amy (and me!) She’s thrown into a world where all the females keep disappearing and being murdered. Amy insists that they must keep her with them in their home where it’s safe. Amy’s roommates agree except for one. Briggs.Briggs is a very mysterious character. I didn’t know exactly how to feel about him during the first part of the story. I wanted to trust him, but there was something a little ominous about him and his dark looks behind his pair of sunglasses. I really liked his character in the end though when I understood his mysteriousness. And what can I say? I’ve always liked characters who have a dark edge to them.Amy is one of those characters who you just want to hang out with for a day. She’s quirky, cute and seems like she’d be a lot of fun. I loved her boldness when it came to trying to persuade James to be with her. She brought a lot of light to a dark story.

I wanted to smother Dante in hugs. He was super sweet, caring, and swoon worthy. He was one of my favorite characters to discover this year!

Christina has such an amazing voice and so much talent when it comes to writing. She is one of my favorite authors!

REAP starts with a main female character, who wakes up on the living room floor of someones apartment. She's lost her memory--has no idea who she is, what her name is, or how she got there. She can't speak or write, although she understands everything, and even seems to lack all emotions.

'Mia' (or so the people who find her call her) was one of the most original main characters I've run into. With a lack of all memory and no feelings for the world around her, the first pages felt like watching a world through a TV screen: detached. I wasn't sure what to think of her, and that's exactly what drew me in. From page one, I wanted to know who she is, why she's acting like that, where did she land and why. Although it was tough to like her (she's like a walking robot at first), the characters around her were so friendly and enjoyable that it made up for her lack of caring.

There was enough tension, twists and turns to keep the story fresh and moving. The romance was sweet and hints at a dark secret, keeping the mystery high. There were several points in the story which never quite made sense to me and felt a bit open ended, but most of the larger mysteries were wrapped up in a very unexpected, fast ending.

In a nutshell? REAP is an enjoyable, quick story, it keeps the reader guessing until the very last page, and has an ending as unexpected as a peppermint candy in the middle of a bowl full of spaghetti.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Reap is a short YA paranormal novella that will be incredibly difficult to review without spoilers since the entire thing is one big mystery unraveling. It is a hauntingly heart-breaking tale of love and the lengths one will go to preserve it. By the end of Reap, I was sobbing. In fact tears are forming right now as I type this review.

The novella is divided into three sections. In part one, Mia awakens in a strange place, unable to speak, write, or remember who she is. Part two features Mia's regained memories of a tragic past. Then in part three the two prior sections are merged together for an emotionally charged ending.

I really enjoyed Reap, cared about the characters, especially Mia. My biggest complaint is that it's too short. I'm so curious to learn more about Dante, James, and Amy, as well as the strange world they live in. The ending was somewhat shocking. Normally I'm pretty good at anticipating where an author is leading me, but Ms. Channelle threw me for a loop. Since I enjoyed the story, I didn't like being left with so many questions about the characters. I guess I just wanted more.

I recommend Reap to everyone high school and up that enjoys a well written, haunting paranormal story. If you are anything like me, make sure there's a box of tissues on hand - you'll need them.

This review is really hard to go in length about because I would be revealing spoilers but I will attempt! Reap is a one of a kind novella! It is extremely addicting and opens the doors up to a great series. My only problem with Reap was the length, I wanted it to be much longer. Novellas, Novellas, Novellas! The book begins with “Mia” waking up of sorts. You spend almost the entire novel in limbo because she has no idea who she is and you don’t really find out anything about her until the last few chapters. This aspect made it a bit confusing at first but the writing is really so good that all the kinks are smoothed out. The writings draws you in from the first page to the last. The book is broken down into three parts her not knowing who she is, starting to remember her old life, and then finally everything comes back to her! I thought that was really clever. Mia is a really likable character and I immediately wanted her to be with Dante. However, it is hard to fall in love with someone when you don’t even know yourself.I would recommend this book to any YA lovers. There is a hint of paranormal, though it doesn’t happen until the very end. I have a hunch that the rest of the series will be more paranormal based. My last question for you is do you believe that true love will always find it’s way?

Woah! You are saddened for this character.
She is unable to speak, doesn't know her name, where she is from.. but can understand what the people are saying.. considering she is found in their home! Can these people help her remember things about herself or she an alien of some form??

Dante, Amy, James and Briggs are 4 people who she gets to see.
Dante is the nicest and kindest with the beautiful eyes. She can't get enough of looking at him!
Amy is kind to her gives her the name Mia and is happy to have a friend who is of the same sex.
James is also nice but just stares at her kind of.
Then there is Briggs, he is not really very nice to her at all. Just gives her nasty looks and something is up with him. But what is it?

Mia starts having odd dreams and then wakes up saddened... eventually the truth comes out/she remembers but what will happen?

I enjoyed this novella. It was interesting, unique, has a twist, wonderful friends, love, loss and much more that captivates you and you want to know more.

Well done and I am now very interested to see/read more of this series...

(( Wish I could say more, but I don't want to spoil it!!!))

I really loved how this story started out. A girl, randomly showing up and no knowing who she is. Something about the amnesia that people can have, I really like. And I love that most of these people all seems to take a liking to Mia right away. Mia seems to have feelings and and is familiar with certain things, but she cannot figure out why or where these things are coming from.

Then we go into the second chapter of the book, and EVERYTHING seems to make sense. I won't spill the beans of course, but it really shed light on where Mia was from. The third part, it was like BAM! This is what it is. I was a bit taken back by this part, it wasn't what I was expecting at all. Let's just say the title of the book fits. Perfectly!

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

First of all I will say that the only part I didn't like about Reap was that it wasn't long enough! I could not stop reading it once I got started and finished it in just a few hours.
Right from the beginning it had me intrigued. I found myself attached to the characters, especially since they were written very well with very good descriptions. Briggs was my favorite and I knew he would end up very important to Mia but how, now that was a huge surprise!
The ending features a fantastic twist and it is difficult for me not to write out spoilers!
I think I will read Reap again now that I know just to see if I missed any clues! I love books with unforeseen twists & turns!

I will absolutely be reading more of Christina Channelle's books!

the first word i thought after reading this was what the heck?

it started about so-called Mia, a girl who lost her memory, and woke up in an apartment with four strangers. and the story begun there.

i love the writing style, it feels so much real. and the story itself, gosh, its definitely one of the story that blows my mind. you think you know the ending and then bam! secrets revealed and no, its far from what you imagined.

this novella has it all, love, tears, and dark side. yes, it has a darker side indeed that i thought its more appropriate for older readers, not early teens.

but then there are so much question left for this book, i'm dying to know the answers but for now i can only guess and hoping the author will make a sequel from this.

I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review.

A story worth telling !!!
This is a story that need to be told, it holds a deeper meaning for so many people that we once love and lose.
I went into this story with nothing, but the title and left with so much more. Reap was a dream or a nightmare that you never want to have or live. This story was one that touches the core of your soul, but makes you feel what the author is trying to tell you. Mia's character is amazing and will leave you wanting more. Reap gave us a sense of darkness wrapped up in mystery to the very end. All in all this was a great read. In all my dreams it top a 5 star rating for me***

4 1/2 FAST PACED MYSTERIOUS ADDICTING STARS! This book was really good! It was fast paced and intriguing from the beginning. It was full of twists and turns and things to uncover. It was a little confusing at first and I felt disconnected from Mia. But as the story goes along I started liking her and connecting to her and I became familiar with the pace. I don't want to give away any spoilers so this is going to be short... Great "paranormal"-it isn't that prevalent in this novella but probably be in the rest of the series. Go get it and keep a couple tissue's on hand just in case ;) ~ Leslie

You know that feeling when you first wake up somewhere new and you have to adjust yourself to your surroundings, well For Mia it's worse she not only goes through that every morning but has to figure out who she really is before it's to late. Finding out who Mia really is may come with a price and it's one Mia is not prepared for as she struggles to regain the truth. Her life may have just gotten a bit more complicated then what she was expecting. Reap is a great novella my only complaint is I wish it had been longer.

I just don't know how to review this book... A first for me for sure. I enjoyed reading it. I enjoyed the characters in the book. And last but not least I enjoyed the twists and turns. The book is actually broken into three parts, the first we meet Mia, who has lost her memory, the second part she remembers who she is, and the third part is one heck of a co-mingling of everything.

I hate spoilers so I am trying very hard not to give anything away. So that is all you're going to get on this book. So go check it out for yourselves. I give this book 4.5 stars.

I won the paperback version in a giveaway. I will admit, I wasn't sure what to expect from this little novella, but I absolutely enjoyed the story. Because it’s a short, it doesn't have as much depth as I prefer, in fact, I think this would have made a great full length novel. But the story was well done, and I like the writing style.

Mia has amnesia, but she knows her name is not Mia. As she learns more, it becomes clear something truly unusual has taken place. But what? Ignorance is bliss. Or is it?

I was so hooked on this book, right from the start, I didn’t take any notes. It was such a quick read, I almost read it in one sitting. As a slow reader and mother of a 2 year old, you can imagine what this means. I. Could. Not. Put. This. Down.

Having said that I must say I was a bit disappointed. When a book is classified as a paranormal romance, usually someone falls in love and at least one of those someones is not human. That was not the case here. This was more like a dystopian horror novel. I do like dystopia and horror. Do not misunderstand me here. I just expected a paranormal romance.

This book was divided into three sections. The beginning was phenomenal. It was everything I thought from the description. And more. A girl wakes up with amnesia and I discover her world right along with her. So mysterious. So awesome. Then, the second part shifts its focus and the story becomes darker than I would have liked. It felt like a completely different book altogether. I love dark and twisted. For me, the scarier the better. However, this was not my cup of tea. If the description had included the second part, I would not have read this book. Now, the third and final act of the book was a surprise twist in everything (which I loved!). Now, if I had read the book’s description with just this premise, I would think the book would be pretty cool.

Put all three together, however, and I am just not sure. I guess I feel cheated by the first third. I really was invested there. There were questions raised that were never answered. The rest felt disjointed. There easily could have been three very different novels here.

I really enjoyed the book overall. The writing was great - the descriptions, sentence structure, word choice. If I had to point out a technical area to improve, it would be the dialogue. A speaker would talk and the speech would continue on into a new paragraph without any speaker identifiers like “James said”. A new paragraph with quotes generally means a new speaker. It was confusing at times. Otherwise, it was beautifully well-written.

This was a clean read and I think it would it be suitable for a young adult audience. Just be aware that this book deals with views of the afterlife, religion, and suicide.

This spoiler-free review was originally posted on 10/30/13, for the blog tour on http://bookcrush.in/

Writing a review for this book is near impossible because the whole damn thing is a spoiler…I literally can’t tell you anything about the book without feeling like I am going to give something away! So I will keep this totally spoiler-free, it just means it will be short and more about my overall feelings towards the book.

As I mentioned, spoilers abound in this interesting story. It was a very short, quick read. The book is broken into 3 parts, the Forgetting, the Remembering, and then the Knowing - which containts the big reveal. I was entranced for the first section of the book! I turned the pages like there was no tomorrow. As the main character is discovering who she is was so well done I felt like I was going through the same things at the same exact time. Christina Chennelle’s ability to tell the story was phenomenal. I was so connected to Mia and how she started to adapt to the forgotten world she was in that I forgot something was bound to be afoot! I was so into this story, I needed to know everything…then I found out everything and it’s sad to say it ruined my love of the earlier story. There was nothing wrong with how the big reveal was written, that was spectacular, the whole story was well written. I was also dying to know more about the world that our protagonist woke up in. Just because she didn’t have any memory didn’t mean us readers wanted to miss out on what was beyond those apartment doors! Give me more please! I think the author could have done just a little more especially explaining the world she was writing.

This book could easily be rated New Adult do to some intense reality themes, but no sex or nudity, it is a heavy topic hopefully not to be breached by the younger crowd of readers. The story was well worth the quick read if you are into reading something totally different in the YA paranormal genre. The book took some risks and I am not saying everyone will not love it! Reap is fast-paced and a real page turner! It kept me guessing the entire time and even during the “Knowing.” I was keen on hearing what they would say and do however, instead I found myself a little angry when it was all over! So give this story a fair chance and read it!

First off, I received a copy of this story for free in exchange for an honest review.

The book was very mysterious and really did keep me guessing for a long time. I still didn't quite figure it all out until the author finally revealed the secret. She did give you tidbits here and there to keep you interested so you didn't just throw the book out of frustration.

The main character begins the book with no memory and it is told from her POV. The author did OK with this but I felt a couple of times that she slipped. Amy was named before the main character had been introduced to her. Also, if she didn't really remember anything, how can she describe Amy's clothes as being "outrageous" if she has nothing to compare them to? It didn't really hurt the story overall but was just inconsistent for the character.

This is a short story, so it goes quickly. It's also a story that covers quite a few topics: romance, death, etc. in those small number of pages. If a teen or young adult read it, I would recommend discussing it with them.

Overall, I would say this author is a very good storyteller. I would be interested to see where her writing talents take her.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Reap is a fascinating book about a girl, Mia, who wakes up one day without a memory in her head. She doesn't know where she came from or what her name is, or even how to speak and write. After waking up, she meets a few people who end up looking out for her.

The first half of the novella is where she doesn't remember anything and not a word comes out of her mouth. The second part is all the memories. And the third part is what happens to her after she remembers. It's extremely intriguing and well-written. The world building is astounding as well as the emotions being portrayed.

My complaint is the length. It made me long for more. Because it's so short, I can't say much in this review that won't spoil it. However, I will say that I didn't like Mia much once I read her memories.

The ending was really unexpected. Most of the time, I can kind of see what's coming, but I didn't have a clue this time. I love books that will keep me guessing.

I just wish the story was longer, but I would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks again to the author!

I was given this book I ex change for an honest review.

I have to say it was definitely not what I expected. While this book had an emotionally charged ending I felt like sometimes I was simply reading to find out what happens next because it started off so vague. Not reading because I was actually into the story. "Mia" simply appears in some random house with strangers and can't speak and remember nothing. That could go slot of ways. I felt there was a lot of details that were there for extra fluff but they never made any sense, such as why the girls couldn't leave he house. The characters were a bit one dimensional for me. I did however enjoy the twist at the end . I truly felt the emotion of what was trying to be portrayed by the author and I cried Ike a baby. That's was the highlight for me. It was all over much to quickly and the ends weren't really all tied up. It was unusual. I also know that sometimes novellas don't allow a lot of room for elaboration. Oh well.

I received this book in exchange of an honest review (David Estes Fans and YA Book Lovers Unite).

I seriously don't know what to say about this book.
It wasn't a bad read, though. It was actually nice and intriguing. Made you want to find out what happened to "Mia" and why she had no memories. And who were the guys that found her.
Briggs was...weird and a mystery. Then you understand why, in the end, though.
Liam was....I don't know. There wasn't anything particular that I liked. And he got a little creepy in the end.
I really liked Dante. He was so cute and sweet. He was my favorite character and I was shocked at what happened to him in the end. What. The. F@ck. Why?! I loved him!
Anyway, the ending is kinda shocking, revealing, and cute somehow, but leaves you with many questions and wanting to know more, to read more.

I received this book for an honest review.
Mia wakes up one day in a strange apartment with complete memory loss about who she is and where she came from. In the apartment lives Dante sweet guy, Amy 19 year old girl desperate for a friend, James and Briggs who's behavior is a big mystery.
This novella was parted in 3 , one being Mia waking up with no memories. The beginning was actually the best part it kept me guessing. I don't understand this world she woke up in. Is not explained either. The second part is where Mia get's her memory back, and than things get confusing. The third part was the What??? part, the plot makes no sense at all. I was so confused.
This book had so many unanswered questions, a lot of things didn't add up. The writing was o.k.
