TRIGGER WARNINGS: I am not a people, so everyone has their own cup of tea (this is mines lol), but let me just say that this book is not for the weak of heart 😆. There are a couple topics I can see people having serious problems with. This story has a plot and spice that balance each other beautifully. The plot alone exhibits an amazing level of attention to detail!
Consumption is written in dual pov between shadow daddy and bully Bryce Dreadful🤤 who is a turned vampire after his sorry a$$ father who got stabby with 🔪 him for trying to expose his disgusting way then, resulting in leaving him to an ancient vampire to turn. He’s traveled back and forth between the underworld and earth to feed, plot against his father, and has become obsessed with his father's new step daughter Persephone 😉.
Who is Persephone Bloom? Persephone Bloom the quiet well behaved girl who follows all the rules her step dad and mother have given her since the beginning. She’s a good girl who wants to be so bad. And who does she go bad for? She’s a bad ass just for Bryce 🤤🫦. He has full mind control over her until she’s able to break through his powers. That’s when the real fun begins. This follows the journey of paranormal, love, revenge with a Greek mythology retelling.
This book is jam packed with spice, but it has a great story lines and intriguing plot. You will follow with such attention to detail and I definitely want more and want a series. This is Netflix worthy!

The author sure knew how to start this book off with a BANG. It was chaotic, vengeful, evil, and I loved every second of it. It hooked me and the book kept me entertained the whole way.

I adore a good retelling and twist on the Persephone and Hades story, and this book delivered. It was the perfect combination of dark romance, gore, taboo, and supernatural. While a large focus of these book was on the interactions and plot between Persephone (Seph) Bloom and Bryce Dreadful, towards the second half of the book a larger plot starts to emerge and it is so intriguing and appears to be what will carry through the series.
As other reviews have mentioned this is a dark romance and plays with taboo and gore. Reader who are new to the dark romance or enjoy the more grey romances, should take the content list very seriously. But for those the relish in the dark romance, this book is a feast. This book will be one that lives rent free in my mind and will be going onto my reread list.

It started off promising. Dark and heavy but how is it that only 18% in he had already taken her away. The rest of the book was a mess. The plot? Basically nonexistent. This was so rushed and for no reason. Half of the book didn't even make sense.

I normally don’t write reviews but I really felt like I needed to for this one. I’d give this 1.5 stars. It has really great potential but fell short for several reasons. Going into this book I had really high hopes, everything was right up my alley.

Right from the first chapter I was concerned. It seemed there was an issue with pacing and it felt like the entire plot of the book was given away. The story did evolve so there was more to the plot but we didn’t even get the war that was teased and seemed like was actually going to be the plot? Based off of the epilogue I’m assuming there’s going to be a second book but this definitely could’ve been one book without all of the filler.
The FMC and MMC both gave me whiplash with their mood swings. I actually had to go back and reread several times because I thought I missed something. One moment she’s getting railed and they’re in love and the next she’s slapping him and telling him they’re over and she never wants to see him literally within the span of a few paragraphs with no actual context as to why. The FMC was definitely worse with the mood swings but, honestly, both were just as bad.
The temper tantrums she would throw weren’t in a “cute bratty way” it reminded me of a toddler. It all came out of no where and really threw me off.
This was advertised as a “good girl gone bad” but i didn’t get that vibe at all. There was no real character development for her. She was turned and got a little bloodthirsty, yes, but right from the get go she was screaming and fighting with her mother over non sense. She was so immature and irrational it took me back to my teenage years and gave me second hand embarrassment.
The spice was honestly pretty good, although the period blood chapter was super unrealistic and felt like it was written by someone who has never experienced a period a day in their life. What woman is fine, then suddenly experiences one cramp and instantly is bleeding out all over the place?????
To top it all off I really didn’t get Hades and Persephone vibes until literally they were told they were the reincarnated versions of Hades and Persephone.
For the pacing, she had no recollection of ever meeting Bryce until she broke through his glamour and even then all she really remembered was the dub con she was basically compelled into for his “revenge plot.” The next thing you know she’s instantly running to him when something goes wrong and they’re in love with no actual reason as to why. Besides some pretty great sex they barely knew each other. He immediately whisks her away to the underworld and she spends like a total of 2 days with him and can’t live without him??? And the “revenge” he had planned was just timed really weird. Nothing really flowed together seamlessly. It felt like several different story lines with some good spice between them to fill the gaps.
I’m really disappointed because if this story had been written better I would have LOVED this. It wasn’t your typical vampire romance but it was severely lacking. I don’t understand how this book is rated as highly as it is. These are some of my all time favorite tropes that normally can’t go wrong with me.

I say this with almost every dark romance that I read but I really, really mean it when I say READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS! You have been warned. This book is definitely not for everyone. From the very beginning of the book, the trigger warnings come into play, so check before you read. With that being said, this book was right up my alley. It’s super spicy and dark. But what I really liked about this book is that while it is brimming with SPICE, there is also a good story to it that will grab you and pull you in. This book is a Hades and Persephone retelling but with vampires. It is dark and twisty and toxic and enjoyable until the end.
Persephone (AKA Seph) has such a transformation in this book. Her growth is off the charts. When we first meet her, she’s… okay when we first meet her she is not really with us. But when we really meet her, she is the good daughter. Sweet and virginal. But as the book progresses, Seph really breaks free from being under her mom and step dad’s rule. She comes into her own and she becomes stronger and more confident.
Bryce…What really is there to say about Bryce. He is so dark and demented. He is initially ruled completely by revenge. He is not a good guy. But he is a fantastic MMC. He is not the super romantic mysterious vampire. He is not using his power to make anyone, specifically Seph fall in love with him. He has much more nefarious plans. He flat out does not care about anything but revenge before he really meets Seph. The things that he does does not make him swoon worthy. But if you are into sexy demented monsters, he might be right up your alley.
The book is dark and twisted but that’s what makes it so good. The two MCs are so toxic when they get together. It is so spicy, which is not always the best thing. But I thought the mix of spice and story made this such a thrilling story to read. It isn’t short, but it is so worth it. If you aren’t deterred by the trigger warnings and are more the type of person that sees a trigger list as a checklist, you should definitely read it.

Since then he has been coming back and forth between the underworld and earth to hunt for food (humans) and has become obsessed with his father's new step daughter Persephone 😉
Queue Persephone Bloom the quiet well behaved girl who follows all the rules her step dad and mother have laid out for her to a tee, FMC, who turns bad ass just for Bryce 🤤🫦 he enters her mind and controls her without her having any memory of it at first, until she manages to break through his hold over her.
Little do they know they are actually much greater together than they realise 😉
This amazing book is filled to the brim with spice, but it also has such an incredibly intricate storyline to follow with such attention to detail that I was honestly not expecting but thrilled to see!
Definitely recommend to those into really fkd up spicy dark Paranormal 😉 it's delicious 😋

Consumption: REVIEW*****
If you haven’t read Consumption yet then what are you waiting for. Yes I will start this review with check the triggers but even with that know, I got through them. I feel each book that imbeds itself so deep it meets the very marrow of my existence, and this one especially does!! Because the emotions behind this blurs and psychologically makes my brain think beyond while feeling so much of everything that’s happened. Craving like a vampire craves bl00d and wanting to devour; that’s this book. Needing and being on a hungry edge to know what happens, whats next, and what the ending will be; what it will do to me. Books are about learning and growing within the trauma of our lives and taking in the lessons within the pages like Consumption. Where blurs the lines between what’s right, what is wrong, and what’s in between where lies the lesson to take. I will add the spice is about six peppers of yes please and let’s just say; the close I get to the end more slower I read because I don’t want to say goodbye to Bryce and Seph. They’ve become a part of my heart and sewn into the very marrow of my being!! Books don’t only teach us but also helps us in many ways and Tierney baby girl you’ve done especially that with each and every book you’ve written and I predict WILL continue with the ones to come.
Add:
The amount of suspense, the gasps, the shocks, the heat, and also the surprises… warning around 78-83 percent… you’ll want to devour and binge but will want to slowly do so to savor every last word written!! The ending. Will having you wanting more… Mark my words like a vampire marks us humans!!

What can I say?
This book hits the ground running as you start out in Persephone's room where Bryce is about to take her by force because he has her in a trance. Bryce is a vampire and is trying to get revenge on his father who is Persephone's stepfather. Bryce is set on getting revenge because his father is the reason that he was turned into a vampire against his will. This is where your story begins.
Bryce starts to fall in love with Persephone and that's what complicates his plan and creates the story that we follow for this book. This book is very dark. There is a lot of trauma and abuse and manipulation that happens in this story that keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. This is not a story that is meant for the faint of heart as it is what I would call a true vampire horror book.
This book is also a love story. A very twisted love story, but a love story. Nonetheless. The way Tierney has this written, it feels like there will be more to the story in the future, but I can also see it being just a stand-alone book. This book does not end the way you are expecting. When you start it. I can guarantee you that.
This book did help me find where my limits are for my dark romance stories. I still enjoyed it, but the triggers that I have listed below should be taken into consideration as many of these things are repeating topics in this book.

This is an ARC Review, Thank you Tierney for this opportunity to read this amazing storyline!
This is a dark,sexy and retelling of HadesXPersephone with vampires, and while the spice levels are off the charts, the plot is 🔝 Core for most of this read.
I didn’t fully know what I was getting into when I started “Consumption” I definitely knew it was about Vampires,spicy scenes,Taboo,and a list of intense TWs..
I honestly didn't want spoilers, I’d never read anything by this author, but I’d seen their posts on social media, so I dived right in.
It is a beautiful blend of vampires in Greek mythology intertwined with Hades and Persephone. Readers will follow Bryce and Seph and their very complex relationship.
Trust me it’s really very complex relationship with this duoHe's a vampire out for revenge & tries to get that through her. But will he or will she change him?

*The reason I rated this a 4, is some of the scenes and plot I just couldn’t get into, it’s a me problem, not the authors or books fault** I basically went into this read blind, besides for some TWs so I didn’t know what I was expecting at all.**

I didn’t fully know what I was getting into when I started “Consumption” I definitely knew it was about Vampires,spicy scenes,Taboo,and a list of intense TWs..
I honestly didn't want spoilers, I’d never read anything by this author, but I’d seen their posts on social media, so I dived right in.
It is a beautiful blend of vampires in Greek mythology intertwined with Hades and Persephone. Readers will follow Bryce and Seph and their very complex relationship.
Trust me it’s really very complex relationship with this duoHe's a vampire out for revenge & tries to get that through her. But will he or will she change him?

*The reason I rated this a 4, is some of the scenes and plot I just couldn’t get into, it’s a me problem, not the authors or books fault** I basically went into this read blind, besides for some TWs so I didn’t know what I was expecting at all.**

Now, on the book.
This book starts with spice right away, and I was immediately captivated. Bryce is set out for revenge. He hates his father, who abused and controlled him for years, and he wants to get his revenge by deflowering and taking advantage of Persephone. What he doesn't intend to happen, though he feels it, is for emotions to get involved. Persephone is a young girl, who is pretty much sick and tired of being sick and tired of playing the good girl. Living her her mother and step-father, they basically control everything about her. Eventually she does come into her own character, but at times she was a bit over the top. I still loved her though, lol. I do wish the relationship between her and Bryce was more fulfilling. Though I loved the dynamic between them, I felt like it there was only sexual chemistry between them and not more. That being said, I did find myself laughing at some of their arguments at times because it reminded me of when I was younger, and my flippant emotions.
All in all, if you love spice, lots of it, a good plot, some taboo tropes, this is the book for you.

I liked the twisted relationship and relationship development between the FMC and MMC. They both seemed like interesting characters.
I really enjoyed how Persephone evolved and grew as a character. She started out as a quiet, well-behaved, perfect, pure stepdaughter who became stronger and more confident throughout the book.
There was a lot of spice in the book, but the spice wasn’t the whole focus of the plot. There was a lot happening and multiple plot twists. The writing was descriptive and made me feel like I was in the middle of the action.

This book is most definitely spicy to the max. Like 6/5 on the spice level. Right off the bat you’re thrown into it and I loved that because some books you only get spice for the last 25% and this was 100% of the book 👌🏻
I feel like I wanted a little more detail and a longer progression in some scenes towards the end of the story. I wanted to see more of their “transition”/“merging”. If you read the story you will know what I am talking about.
I hope we get more of their back story and more plot details about the ancient vampires and everything in the next book! You can definitely tell that she’s planning to write more because there were too many plot points alluded to that didn’t happen in the book yet!
I’m glad that Seph has good healing abilities now because lord knows she needs it 😂🩸

The MMC Bryce is out for revenge against his father (who killed him) and tries to use the FMC his step sibling to help him accomplish this. The FMC starts out as an innocent, quiet, good girl and grows stronger and into her own person (not the one her parents want her to be) as the story progresses. If you like very dark paranormal romances this book might be for you.

Persephone (or Seph), the FMC, is an innocent, quiet girl. Bryce, the MMC, is a broody, dark, possessive vampire. Seph and Bryce are step-siblings.
Bryce did so much to Seph in the name of revenge, and she didn't even know, she couldn't remember any of it. Not until she broke through the glamour he was using on her. She broke her own heart, because she refused to allow herself to continue the treatment Bryce was giving her.
Seph had so much growth throughout the story, it was fantastic to watch. She went from that quiet, good girl to independent, confident, badass. I almost cried at some of her history with her father, that was so damned sad. The relationship between her and Bryce is abusive and toxic, but the way she handles him.. it's good.
There's plenty of spice, but be warned, you need to read the triggers first starting the book. Personally, I enjoyed it, but I love the taboo and dark.

First and foremost, if you're a reader human or vampire—who values trigger warnings, I highly recommend checking those out before diving into this book. I truly wish I could rate it higher than 5 stars! As someone who doesn't typically gravitate towards fantasy, I can confidently say this is my favorite in the genre. The plot was thoroughly impressive, keeping me engaged with every twist and turn.
When I say 5/5 🌶️, I mean it the spice is there right from the start and maintains its intensity throughout the entire story. This is a reimagining of the Hades and Persephone, with a unique twist involving vampires and step-siblings. I found it absolutely adorable when Bryce referred to Persephone as "Petal"; it was such a sweet and unique nickname.

I love a good Hades and Persephone retelling mix in vampires and a toxic relationship and I’m sold! This book was definitely an interesting take on the retelling it’s dark with a long list of TW/CW so be sure to check those before diving in.
The author has done a great job with the plot and characters.
The start of this story was like BAM straight in your face, grabbing your attention and keeping you glued to the pages throughout, the taboo aspect and the relationship between the MC’s is toxicity at it finest and filled with lies, revenge, twists and of course spice. Honestly this is a great read and I definitely recommend to all those dark paranormal romance lovers out there who enjoy a long list of TW and the toxic side of relationships

Consumption by Tierney Alina Eddy is a dark paranormal horror story. This book is full of vampires what Bette story to read at Halloween. This book is a dark vampiric retelling of Hades and Persephone. There is just something about their story that makes us all get excited. Despite it being a retelling it is unique and exciting.
Bryce Dreadful (okay yes I did giggle at his name) is let me just say yummy. heather is your typical bad boy in a nice package. Persephone is your good girl turning bad. These two together are entertaining and let me say you have to look past the toxic in the relationship. It’s a book remember.
This novel is exciting and full of twists. I can not wait for the next one.

He is a sexy vampire who gives no fu€k$. During this time he meets and becomes obsessed with Persephone. Shouldn’t be a problem, right? WRONG! She is his dad’s new stepdaughter.
Persephone aka Seph has major growth in this book. She goes from a quiet, sweet, good daughter to a confident and strong woman. I love the growth that the author shows with this character and her transformation.
This book was a dark and spicy read that I devoured!

Okay, where do I start?
Wow. What a book !
There was so much going on but in a great way ! There was no boring “ugh when is something good going to happen?” Because it was all SO good !
The plot was amazing - & the spice ?! The spice was ✨S P I C Y✨
The relationship between the main characters was so dang toxic & twisted, that it was so sexy !
You could really picture everything going on in this story because the writing was so amazingly descriptive & well written. I can’t wait to read the sequel !

Bryce gives no f❥cks, has a bad attitude, is a bad boy with big daddy energy and I love him. Persephone is quite sheltered and innocent, until she isn’t. Persephone evolving into who she is meant to be and Bryce realizing how undeniable their chemistry is and how deep their feelings run is fabulous.
This kinky Hades/Persephone retelling is off the charts good. Toxic spicy passion along with a fantastic plot make this an epic read.

3.5 Stars. I enjoyed the storyline. I would have liked more plot than smut (never thought I’d say that!) because it was becoming boring around the 40% mark. The concept was brilliant. I think the author has a lot of potential!! If it had been 300 pages shorter it would have worked really well but because it was so long and the majority of it was smut I just couldn’t keep my focus on the book unfortunately. I think a lot of people will absolutely love this though!!

This is a 5 spice alarm read! Check triggers and content warnings before reading. This book is such an interesting twist on the Hades and Persephone Myth. I was lucky enough to beta read this and it was always such an amazing read. Dark, almost pitch black at times, Twisty, and spicy. Bryce and Seph are such a toxic yet connected pair and I found myself praying they would get it together in their times of discord. This is the perfect book for this spooky season.

This story about Hades and Persephone reincarnated and turned into vampires is something else!
Author successfully wrote them as beautifuly complex characters with lot of development and I really enjoyed reading it.
There’s story, there’s lot of spice and a bunch of trigger warnings, so be sure to check them because this really is a dark romance.

A retelling of Hades and Persephone. Lies, intrigue, revenge, and of course - spice! Both the FMC and MMC had quite a bit of baggage to wade through and were quite toxic with one another. They both had various bouts of immaturity that made you want to shake them. I really enjoyed the relationship that developed between Seph and Madz. Both of those characters needed and deserved a friend. You will want to definitely check trigger warnings on this one.
