When fifteen-year-old Firiel prepares to attend the Count's ball, she discovers that she may be heir to the throne and begins a courageous quest for the truth, unaware of the dangers that face her.
Why? Why must this be the last of this series translated by Tokyopop? T_T From what I can tell, Tokyopop stopped with this series long before they went out of business, and I'm not sure if it's because it's on hiatus in Japan or if it just didn't sell well in the US...
Excellent story, beautifully drawn. Now if only I could find out how this series ends... D:
Having fallen through the wall right after they've found it, Firiel is thrust along a path of sorts, and across a large amount of land to the dessert that lies even further to the South. There, she meets her Majesty's Bard, who collects rare tales, songs, and ballads of information from all of the reaches of the world, so that he may recite them to her Majesty, and she may see the world as it is without leaving where she stays. While the Bard leads Firiel through the small town of Elroy, on the outskirts of the dessert, Firiel learns that the Brigion army is quickly approaching, and attempting to use the road as a short cut to execute their sneak-attack on Kagwell. When Firiel is again reunited with Rune, she relays this information to him, and together, they will make a forbidden decision...
Oh...! It's the last book available. :'( They don't even have anything online past this point... I really, really do hope the anime carries on past this point! But isn't the anime only 13 episodes long...? WAAAAHHH Q~Q RUUUNE!! FIRIEEEELLL!! By the end of this volume, I wanted to make a RuneXFiriel AMV/MMV with the song With Me by Sum 41 soo bad...! One day I will do it, unless I decide the song is unfit for the two. But I think it suits them both very, very much!! And AGH, this volume made my heart flutter so much!! Firiel AND Rune are growing up so fast! And I guess the Circle of Hermes isn't so bad after all, huh? But... Then again... They will also bring about the end of the world as they know it, won't they? But is that a good thing? Also, I've been thinking for a while now, but, could The Good With of The West possibly take place before the great apocalypse that wiped out nearly every dinosaur, thousands of years ago? The prophecy from the Fenistell children's tale, and the mysterious wall, add very much to that theory. URGH...! BUT THE GREATEST QUESTION OF ALL IS, WILL I EVER KNOW?! There are only two novels out in English, and the manga has already surpassed them! The anime is my only hope for my questions to be answered! Urgh...! OH, and Rune's desperate and pained expressions also pain me, but as he is now, throughout this entire book, it makes my heart flutter. He is like a few people I used to know. And Firiel... Firiel is a lot like I was at the time I used to know them. Only, she's much more feisty and lovable, I think, hehe! But finally, shadow and light are bound as one even after the end of time. That makes me happy to read/see. Although, I do feel a bit bad for Eusis, and Adale, but mostly Eusis. I still can't really decide who I support Firiel spending her life with, but, all in all, Rune is the optimal choice. He is all that she has ever known that is still with her. She can't live without him, nor can he live without knowing she is alive somewhere. Rune has always been Firiel's home, and Firiel has always been Rune's guide and hope. One supports the other, and as the Bard would put it, when one falls, the other will as well, and thus, all of it will break.
The words that attracts most of my attention here from the Bard’s song. Scarborough Fair ?
Lots of hints in this book, but still not much explanation. Seems like Queen Ann, the first Astraea came from a different world or maybe planet, which might explains the seemingly very advanced technology hidden by Astraea, especially the force field wall of the south and the teleportation ability, as well as the folklores from our world.
But with only one book left, will they have enough time to conclude all the stories ? Doesn’t seems likely.
