A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

He’s always wanted her. Now’s his chance to claim what’s his.

School teacher Marceline Bellini gave up everything—men, sex, anything resembling a social life—to raise her young daughter. To be the perfect parent. But when she attends an engagement party in her standard stick-in-the-mud mode, her friends begin plying Marcy with shots. Just enough to convince her that a little fun doesn't sound like a bad idea... and having some naughty fun is an even better one.

Like finding herself deliciously pressed against a dark alley wall by the very familiar and very hot body of her best friend's older brother.

After years of waiting in painful silence, police officer Aaron Robinson finally has Marcy’s attention. And man, does he have it. But nothing could have prepared either of them for the rush of fiery lust between them. So he’ll just have to convince Marcy he’s for real. And that a rainy, lust-fuelled romp is the first step to a lifetime of completely imperfect happiness…

FOUR IT WAS ALWAYS YOU STARS.

"The only mistake you made was thinking I'd let you walk out of here with another man."

description

How Katee Robert has managed to fit all of the love, romance, emotion and 'rip-your-clothes-off-let's-get-down-to-business style' hot all in just 100 pages is beyond me, but she did and I adored it. Nothing makes me happier than to spend my time reading books just like this, here are the rest of my thoughts ...

What's it all about?
Marceline Bellini is singularly devoted to two things; her daughter and her job as a school teacher. Over the years she has convinced herself that there is no room for extra enjoyment or love. One night out celebrating with a friend brings her into the path of the towns police officer and her old high school crush, Aaron Robinson. After one surprising night of steamy lust Marceline is ready to move on from the unforgettable time they spent together but Aaron has other ideas and is ready to fight for the affection of the woman that he has loved for too long. Will this couple be able to move past obstacles and grab onto what could be a lifetime of happiness?

description

What did I love?
Katee Robert has obviously read my inner romance tick list and thrown it all in this short but perfectly put together novella. There was everything to love and nothing to criticise here. Yes it's a predictable read and no you won't find anything new here, but what you will find is a heartwarming, sweeter than sweet love story about finding love where you have always wanted it. Surprisingly for such a short time spent with the characters, Marceline and Aaron I really was charmed by them both. The author led me straight into the heart of the romance and love and I admit I had a huge helping of the heart swoons and as I got to the last page and epilogue of this quickie I could not stop smiling.

description

Why not five?
This book could have been a full length novel, I fell for the story line and characters but I was left wanting more, much more. It has an enjoyment factor that made it completely worth my time, but it's not anything that hasn't been done before or outstanding from the rest.

Final thoughts ...
By now it's fairly obvious that I'm a brazen junkie to the extreme. You are never going to find me without one if these titles happily taking up space on my kindle. Katee Robert is an author who obviously loves to write about love and her romance novels are perfectly adorable. If you enjoy reading stories that will leave you with a smile on your face with not a trace of angst then this will undoubtedly be for you. Enjoy, kisses.

4 Sacrificing, Determined, Very Satisfying
* * * * Spoiler Free-Only 99 Cents!!!
I have been very fortunate in my life to have two terrific sons. I raised them in a two-parent family, yet my late husband's position had him traveling and away for quite a bit of time. This caused the feeling of sometimes going it alone...trying to figure out how to deal with the kids and all that can mean. Making sure they are doing the homework, getting them to their practices...just being on call 24/7. I mention this not as a ploy for any reason, just to explain how empathic I am to single moms. I was not one as I did have a partner and he was there connecting with the boys/men. But there were many times it was difficult so because of those times...I can appreciate and send mad respect to all the amazing moms out there doing it on their own and doing it well.

We meet Marcy Bellini at her friend's Bri's wedding party wishing she was home with her little 3-year-old girl, Claire.
Where her friends have razzed her to step out, Marcy is longing for the safety and comfort of snuggles with Claire. Where the teasing and checking out the men is encouraged for her, she knows the only checking out she has been an expert in is the toddler clothing aisle at Walmart. Oh, she had desires and needs...gave them to an ex who on learning his girlfriend was pregnant, left and joined the Corps without a glance back. Nope, Marcy had her daughter, her job and that was going to be enough.

Yet...there was this yearning and she always stifled it. She had known HIM forever...he was her best friend's brother after all. He was handsome, a little older and he teased her all the time using her real name Marceline. She hated that and with the teasing, he would always be there unless he was overseas in the Army fighting.

She got older and attached her self to the ex while he watched and wished for an opportunity. He tried to help her when shit hit the fan wanting to be there for her but by then Marcy had shut down. Her only focus was to finish college and take care of Claire. And take care of Claire, she did. She knew she did right watching out for her, loving her and making sure Claire knew she was loved. But deep down, Marcy wondered during those hidden moments was she ever going to be loved?

Marcy's HIM is Aaron Robinson and he has been carrying the torch for his Marceline forever. He has watched from a distance, looked out for her and his love for all she is and what she has accomplished all by herself has simmered to the point of boiling. He is watching her being goaded into drinking shots and he is seeing a friend bring his Marine Corp grandson to meet her.

This has tipped the boiling to becoming Mt. Vesuvius erupting in him. He works his way over to the bar making sure the pompous ass can see him coming. He slides up behind Marcy and gives the eye and glare to the guy...staking his claim. After a staredown, the kid leaves causing Marcy to confront Aaron with tipsy annoyance. She is really pissed and tells him he blew her opportunity to have some fun and hook up. He is so stunned when she says that.....and then continues with "What are you gonna do about it..", he grabs her arm taking her outside of the bar...

What happens next is off the charts hot, overwhelming and oh so good for both of them. He wants more...to really make the connection and hopefully have this be a relationship. She is first shocked as hell she even did this, freaking because it was so damn good and is already in the process of shutting down because this is not her life...she is Claire's mom and this does not fit the program.

Katee Robinson worked magic. She took a tale, laced it with incredibly hot encounters, added the conflicts of single motherhood and sewed it up tight with us wanting them to be together. She gave them a real history so it wasn't insta-lust but burning, smouldering want and need for years. The chemistry worked; the conflicts worked and I, for one enjoyed it.

If you are looking to spend a little time... get into the moment and feel some heat... this little nugget of Brazen goodness will do the trick.

3.5 Light & Steamy read Stars

He's always wanted her. Now's his chance to what's his.

If you're looking for a quick and steamy little read look no further than this novella.

This was a shortie but boy did it pack a steamy punch. It was a tad fluffy, a lot steamy, and great little appetizer to tide you over until the next Out of Uniform book (hopefully Drew's)

After one too many shot's at her friend Bri's engagement party (you'll remember Bri from In Bed with Mr. Wrong), Marcy decides to leave her pent up little existence for a night of decadence with the one man she never expected to giver her a second glance. She's had a huge crush on the older Robinson brother since her teens, but when he rejected her back in high school, the last thing she expects is for him to proposition her years later.

Little does Marcy know that Aaron has always wanted her. She may be his little sister's best friend, and she may have been too young for her back in the day, but she's all woman now.

So in a haze of alcohol induced passion, they give into the inevitable...but now Aaron wants more.
Aaron wasn't going to let this fade into memory and move on with his life. No, he had every intention of pushing his way into her life, though God alone knew what role he expected to play.

The last thing Marcy wants or needs is a man in her life right now. All she wants to consentrate on is her daughter. But Aaran has no trouble with trying to convince Marcy he's the one for her, any means necessary...

There's a whole lot of wall sex here. Outside the bar wall sex, inside a broom closet wall sex. There's sex galore. I guess what I'm trying to say here, is this book had some verra hot sex.

And you'll be getting no complaints from this girl.

Marcy did have her moments of stubborn bitchiness where I wanted to smack her for not seeing sense and being as callous as she was to Aaron at times. But Aaron managed to take my mind off of that most times.

Although nothing I see myself going back and re-reading, I did enjoy this one. It was quick, steamy, easy little read. The perfect filler for those in-between book times.

4 - Claire-Bear & Old Spice Stars.

His to Keep, epitomises everything that I want to find in a Brazen Novel, hot-sex, a great storyline and likeable characters. Katee Robert has gone one step further and managed to put it in a Novella, and wowza what a novella it is.

Marcy and Aaron have known each other since their teens, but as his little sisters best friend she was off-limits. A stint in the services then took him away, but ten years later, he is back, Marcy is no longer off-limits, and it is full Steam ahead.

Marcy is determined to pull herself out of the routine that she has been caught in since having her daughter Claire 3 years ago, raising her as a single mother, life has gotten a bit dull. Tired of her stick-in-the-mud ways, she agrees to a night out in celebration of her next door neighbour Bri’s engagement to Ryan Flannery (Book 1 - In Bed With Mr. Wrong) at the local bar, determined to find herself a little entertainment of the male persuasion for the evening. Aaron is totally on-board with this idea, as long as he is the one providing the entertainment.

”The only mistake you made was thinking I’d let you walk out of here with another man.”

Tall, dark and handsome, Aaron has been the subject of Marcy’s secret fantasies for longer than she cares to admit, when those fantasies have the chance to become reality, Marcy has to decide whether to embrace her new “grab life (or Aaron), with both hands” attitude, or to revert back to being a stick-in-the-mud.

Aaron – “If anyone is going to take you off the shelf it’s going to be me. No one else.”

I could gush about this novella for ages, it was that good it didn’t even feel like a novella, Marcy and Aaron literally burn up the chapters, and the chemistry between the two of them is beyond hot, from their first time, right up to the end of the book.

”Aaron?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you feel how much I want you?”
“Yeah.”
“Then don’t stop.”

Marcy’s daughter Claire added that extra element of childish innocence, to this story, and I loved seeing Bri and Ryan, as well as being given a little teaser of things to come with Drew and Avery (sooner rather than later I hope!)...

Marcy and Aaron hold a crush on each other for more than ten years without the other know. Somehow their high school days never ended. But life happens and Aaron leaves town to join the army and a few years later Marcy gets pregnant and dumped by her asshole of a boyfriend.
She is now a school teacher that only lives for her daughter. Aaron returned town a few years ago but somehow life kept on keeping them apart. They are both afraid of show their feelings and get hurt.

description

Until one night at a party they both attend, one (really) HOT event between them changes everything. Marcy tries to forget, afraid that Aaron will leave her and her daughter again and broke her. But this time? This time Aaron is decided to fight. And he’s decided to show Marcy that now they had a chance, it’s finally their time to be happy.

Storyline: A sweet, sexy and romantic novella for when you need something quick and heartwarming.
Writing Style: Third person, dual POV. Katee Roberts clearly loves to write about love and sexy moments… and she does both amazingly!
Character Development: Aaron was a sexy and persistent man and I really liked him. Marcy was too undecided but we could understand why so I liked her as well. After reading this, I can’t wait for Drew’s story!
Steam: Hot.

"The only mistake you made was thinking I'd let you walk out of here with another man."

He's always wanted her. Now's his chance to claim what's his.

His to Keep by Katee Robert was a fun, quick and sexy read with a independent, quirky heroine and a possessive alpha male with a sweet and caring heart. If you're looking for a light, feel-good, steamy read, look no further and give this one a try!

Being a single mother to a 3 year old little girl and maintaining a steady job as a teacher have become Marceline "Marcy" Bellini's top priorities over the years. Her romantic life is as good as nonexistent and she's determined to keep it that way. She doesn't need the extra distractions a new relationship might bring, but when she runs into her old crush, police officer Aaron Robinson at her friend's engagement party, old feelings start to resurface. And when she discovers he's been feeling the same way for quite some time, it suddenly becomes much harder to suppress those "distracting" feelings.

After their first encounter things started heating up pretty fast. Marcy tries to "play it cool" and pretend like there's nothing more going on between them but Aaron is relentless is his attempts to win her over. He understands that she's hesitant to let another man into her life and heart and that her daughter is her first priority but he's willing to do whatever it takes to convince her that's he's there to support her and care for her whenever she needs him.

All in all, this was short and steamy read that I really enjoyed reading. As is often the case with novellas, the story wasn't really long enough to "fully" grab my attention BUT for a novella, this was definitely one that I would recommend. Not to mention, the sweet as hell epilogue that alone would be 100% worth the read.

No cliffhanger.

A romance novella has a short amount of pages to draw you in and capture your heart. His to Keep was a second chance romance with just enough sweet and spicy to do just that. This story is part of a series but it’s not necessary to read the first book to enjoy this one.

Marcy’s main focus is life is providing a happy and stable environment for her three year old daughter and not much else. But a night out with the girls is about to change all of that. Marcy has always held Aaron as the gold standard for men, but he never seemed interested until her night out with the girls and they end up in the alley where things get completely out of control.

Aaron has always had a thing for Marcy, his little sister’s best friend, but he thought she deserved better. In addition, Marcy’s put up shields making it clear she wasn’t interested in a relationship. But when Aaron sees another man about to move in, all bets are off and he goes after Marcy.

Aaron is mostly happy in his life as a police officer in his small hometown but being with Marcy for the long haul would make his life complete. He never figures Marcy to be so skittish and hesitant about making a go of things, but he’s not about to let go. Marcy has been self sufficient out of necessity when her boyfriend left her pregnant and alone four years back. I admired Marcy’s determination to put her daughter’s interests above her own, and I completely understood her hesitation at allowing any male into their lives. With her longtime crush on Aaron it’s harder to keep up the boundaries, but she soon realizes there’s no need to be afraid with him.

I’ve read Katee Robert’s romances in the past and she excels at writing scenes that will make you hot and bothered. His to Keep was no exception. Aaron and Marcy burn up the pages while giving in to their long held feelings and attraction.

Katee Robert wrote a sweet and sizzling romance sure to satisfy any romance junkie’s craving and did so in a mere 100 pages!

If a sizzling short read is what you are after, then His to Keep is the book. Sexy, passionate and with an injection of sweet, Marcy and Aaron were a couple to love and their romance had pretty much everything Katee Robert's delivers in her full length novels, just condensed.

I read it in one sitting, because their journey just captivated me. It is fabulous little addition to the Out of Uniform series, I put it down with a satisfied smile and I can't wait for the next book.

3.5 broom cupboard stars

I enjoyed Katee Robert's first book in this series, and was charged to see this novella.

Marceline (Marcy) Bellini is a school teacher by day, and devoted single mother to a three year old princess, outside of that. She reluctantly attends her friends engagement party, Bri, the lively librarian we met in In Bed With Mr. Wrong, and is coerced into taking shots. Her handle on reality starts to slip when Bri insists she has her shots also, given that she is pregnant.

Aaron Robinson is watching from afar, having held a torch for Marcy since high school. She had been his little sister's best friend, and he had watched her grow into the beauty she now was. Seeing her come out of her shell, albeit alcohol assisted, and become flirtatious, he took it upon himself to ensure he was the only guy she would be leaving with,

This was a story of perceived unrequited love, dashed with a little trust issues, but splattered with instantaneous steam. I enjoyed it, but found, as with a lot of novellas, I was left wanting more. More depth, more chapters.

If you are after a sweet, steamy, easy read, this should be snapped right up.

What is it about a Kattee Roberts book that leaves you feeling so darn warm and fuzzy inside, like a freaking bunny rabbit?? Every book this talented author writes is incredible and she sets the bar high for so many authors out there.

This is a novella in her Out of Uniform series and it is about Marcy and Aaron.

Marcy is a single mom to her 3 year old daughter. She has been hurt terribly in the past, by her daughters father and love is the furthest thing from her mind. She loves her job teaching second grade, being a mom and she feels like she has finally found a happy balance.

Aaron is a police officer, who after spending 10 years in the army is enjoying a more peaceful life in their small town. He has had a thing for Marcy, his sisters best friend for years now, but the timing has never been right.

After a chance encounter at a bar one night, he realizes that if he does not make a move soon, he is going to be too late.

This is a incredibly sweet story and I highly recommend it to fans of Brazen and Ms Roberts..... As I said it will leave you feeling incredibly warm, along with the Cheshire grin on your face...

There are many quick and dirty scenes (it takes a while for this couple to make it to a bedroom but visits to an alley brick wall and school closet will tide you over) that make this novella heavy on the steamy side. Marcy and Aaron's characters aren't deeply delved into, this is a novella after all, but they are both likable characters. Their scenes are sexy but not too erotic that you would feel awkward reading them in public. The author's writing and tone make this a flirty, fun, and spicy read with an epilogue full of sappy goodness to tick all the boxes of a romance reader looking for a swift read.

His to Keep by Katee Robert was a solid 3 stars for me. There were some good parts and some things that bothered me. First, the things I liked – the characters were solid. It is always tough to develop characters enough in a novella but I thought Robert did a solid job of getting me interested in these characters and their stories.

Marcy and Aaron have been dancing around each other since she was seventeen and he consciously made the decision to leave before things went anywhere. When Aaron came back, Marcy was already dealing with a guy who treated her poorly and eventually leaves her when she is pregnant. Now Marcy is a single mother and rarely does anything that isn’t for her daughter. As Aaron watches her from across the bar they are at in celebration of their friend’s engagement, he decides he doesn’t want to avoid her anymore and makes a move.

This is where the relationship takes a few steps forward…although it isn’t really a relationship. They end up having sex in the alley behind the bar and then Marcy runs away. As Aaron gets her to realize he isn’t going to just give up on her, Marcy decides to take a chance which leads to the HEA ending.

There was one major thing that bothered me in this story and that was the author’s decision to make Aaron’s sister’s name Erin. It seemed a bit ridiculous and I can’t imagine any parents ever doing that to their kids. Minor detail as Erin doesn’t play a huge role in this story but still, weird.

Overall, this was a good story with some solid characters. If you are looking for a quick romance to read, definitely check this one out.

idk why but the audiobook for book 1—In Bed with Mr. Wrong—doesn't exist on Spotify so I just decided to listen to this novella since it's (obviously) the next book in this series.

1 ish star ⭐️ ???

So firstly, there isn't anything wrong with this book... I just wanted to sus out the Out of Uniform series since it's:

1. Katee Robert, and
2. A book title I've seen for the last few months.

I wasn't really invested in His to Keep until the very end but it was definitely because I didn't know what to read next and again, I just wanted to sus out this series.

So my star rating is really just 🤷🏻‍♀️ meh vibes 🤷🏻‍♀️

And since the audiobooks look like they're less than 3 hours, I might give the next book a listen if I have an odd amount of minutes left 👍🏻

***This book was provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.***

This was a sexy little novella.

To start off with, it was about Marcy falling for her best friend’s older brother, which is one of my favorite all time tropes! I love it when couples have been fighting an attraction to each other for years. It seems to make the sex scenes so damn hot!

Marcy and Aaron were both incredibly likable characters. Marcy is a single mother trying to make a good life for her and her daughter, and Aaron is a police officer who is tired of holding back when it comes to his feelings for Marcy.

He closed the already tiny distance between them, and the look on his face was one she’d never seen before. “The only mistake you made was thinking I’d let you walk out of here with another man.”

After giving in and sharing a passionate interlude with Aaron, Marcy realizes that he is not about to let her walk away from him. Their story was enjoyable. Marcy’s concerns about introducing a man to her daughter were legitimate and well-written, and I liked the back story of Aaron’s character with his military background and just wanting to be a good guy. He was also possessive as hell once he finally got a hold on Marcy. It was clear he wasn’t going to let her go without a fight.

…there was no mistaking the possessive glint in his gray eyes. What they’d just done was supposed to be about getting her out of her shell just for one night. The look on his face didn’t fit with that.

There was some chasing in this one, but it didn’t go on for so long that it got tiring. Also, the small town aspect was a fun addition. Meddling friends and neighbors always spice things up and make for a good read!

My only complaint was that the epilogue was just a bit too sweet and perfect for me. Other than that, I really enjoyed this story!

If you’re looking for a quick, steamy read with simple characters, this book is exactly what you’re looking for!

His To Keep started off with a bang! We were quickly introduced to the main characters without the unnecessary details that can go on forever and I liked how Ms. Katee Roberts wrote the whole story in such a captivating way that you won’t even notice that this is only about 100 pages until you reach the end and you’re left wanting more.

The characters, Marceline or “Marcy” and Aaron, are very easily likeable and their chemistry can be felt in this short novel. As a single parent, Marceline Bellini, has set her own boundaries in life, making her 3-year old daughter her top priority. There’s no place in her life for a man, no matter how hot and gorgeous and great he is, or so she says. Aaron Robinson, the man Marcy has had a crush on since her teenage years, the same man who’s been resisting the pull he’s felt for over a decade towards Marcy. He is ex-Navy, now police officer, a straight-forward guy, persistent, honest, and just straight-up loving.

All of these descriptions I used for them - I’ve felt it and imagined it and can pretty much see Marcy, Aaron, and Claire in clear picture in my head. That is how well delivered this 100-page of a book is to me. Katee Roberts touched the inner romantic in me. His To Keep is catchy, light, steamy, and sweet all wrapped up in one novella. And that Epilogue, I want to give them all a tight hug while a huge smile is plastered on my face.

Stars: 4 stars!

The most important thing in Marcy's life is her young daughter, everything she does she does for Charlie and dating has become a thing of the past. That all changes when her best friend's brother makes a move on her at an engagement party, Marcy has had a crush on Aaron since she was seventeen years old but this is the first hint that her feelings are reciprocated. Aaron has wanted Marcy for as long as he can remember but circumstances have always kept them apart, now he's had a taste though and nothing will stop him from making Marcy and Charlie a permanent part of his life.

His to Keep is a novella in Katee Robert's Out of Uniform series and although Marcy and Aaron didn't play much of a role in the first book (I only remember one very brief conversation with Marcy & I don't think Aaron made an appearance at all) this story does give us the chance to catch up with Bri, Ryan, Avery and Brent which I really loved.

As this is a fairly short story (around 100 pages) the romance between Marcy and Aaron develops very quickly but because of the history between them I didn't have too much trouble with that. They have great chemistry and I loved the way Aaron looks out for Marcy. The epilogue was completely adorable and made my heart melt a little.

Overall His to Keep is a great read it's a hot and spicy with great characters and a really sweet romance and I'd definitely recommend it. I'm really excited to read Avery and Brent's story next too, this series is another winner from Katee Robert.

So everybody is messed up in this small town? Another cliché story with some sex scenes. Boy likes girl, is bold to finally tell her after a few drinks and gets full on physical outside the bar in the alley with her. Hmmm.... Girl is afraid to get out of her comfort zone because her ex left her and the baby. She is a mom first and her needs don't count. It's an old story line so spice it up, put a twist in it. HEA, again... short novella, simple and sweet.

A single mom school teacher and a police officer waited 10 years to finally consulate their attraction. In the synopsis it says he waited ten years for her to notice him. But in the story, she’s been in love with him since she was seventeen and he twenty-two. I don’t get it. Decent steam, sweet characters, but inconsistent storyline.

Short and steamy

This book was short but steamy! Marcy is a single mom of a sweet 3 year old daughter, and Aaron is a police officer. They've known each other forever, and both had a crush on the other. This is the story of what happens when they start to give in to the feelings they've had for most of their lives.

Sweet and short

Marcy looked like she would never give love a second chance. But it seems she was only looking for her teenage crush to get along with it. Although, bring a single mom was tough for her to finally give Aaron a chance.

It's not you, it's me. This should have been my trope-nip. But I'm coming to realise that I don't enjoy children in romance novels and I don't much like American small towns with massive families and cutesy friendship cliques, and I can't stomach a cop hero. So. Yeah.

Cute and short novella about a girl who has been in love with her best friend's brother and a guy who admired her from afar but thought he didn't deserve her.

them finally doing something about it after so many things getting in their way( like his army deployment, her ex boyfriend, her kid and their fears)is all the book has for you

Cute story. I didn't really connect with the characters, and the steamy scenes were just okay. Fun little read, though!

From the very first page, I was drawn into the magnetic chemistry between the main characters. Their attraction is electric, and the tension practically leaps off the page. Katee Robert has a gift for creating characters with depth and complexity, and in this novella, she crafts a love story that feels both genuine and passionate.
