There are many rules to follow as your mom’s guest at the company holiday party.
Rule one – do not, under any circumstances, find the new boss so attractive.
Rule two – definitely do not undress him with your eyes.
Rule three – if he slips you his phone number, throw it away. I repeat, throw it away. Who cares if just one look into his blue eyes makes you want to drag him underneath the nearest mistletoe?
Rule four – when you show up at his house the next day, do not let him kiss you. Your lips are meant to say good-bye.
Rule five – at no point should you let him take off your clothes like he’s unwrapping his sexy Christmas gift. And moaning will only make it worse.
Rule six – rule six is a bonus rule, so pay attention. Forget rules one through five.

Unwrapped is a stand alone Christmas story by Evelyn Sola. This is my very first book by this author. This is an age gap, holiday, attraction at first sight, fun, sexy and sweet story.

Kiss under the mistletoe

Nick Bain is thirty six years old and has just moved to Boston from Chicago. He needed a fresh start and when his Uncle asked him to take over for him temporarily at his company, Bain Construction, Nick jumped at the chance while he tried to figure out what was next for his life. With the stress of the move and so much on his mind, his first day in the office might not have gone so well, and he might not have made the best first impression on his employees. But he was there to do a job, to help his uncle, not make friends. When his uncle insisted he attend the annual Christmas party, Nick begrudgingly went. But when his eyes connected with his employee’s daughter, the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen, suddenly this party was looking so much better.

Miranda Moore is twenty three years old and is in her final year of college. For weeks, she’s been listening to her mother complain about her new boss, the devil himself. When Miranda is forced to attend her mom’s work Christmas party, she’s sure it will be a long night. Until she saw him, her mother’s very gorgeous new boss. He could very well be the devil but she can’t take her eyes off him.

“There is no way that a thirty six year old man can fall for a twenty three year old woman in a matter of seconds. That does not happen.”

The connection between Miranda and Nick is too much for them to ignore. Nick’s ready to go all in, make their relationship public. But Miranda isn’t ready. She’s worried about her mother’s reaction. So she wants to stay secret for awhile.

“She’s happiness and love. She’s the light to my darkness and the balm to everything that ever hurt me.”

ñauti ãddictiõns

Where Nick is all serious and broody, Miranda is his polar opposite. She carefree and quick to laugh. And above all, she loves Christmas. Her presence in Nick’s life is like a sunbeam. He is quickly becoming addicted to her and both of their feelings are quickly growing.

This was such a fun, sweet and very sexy book. Miranda had such an impact on Nick and I loved watching his transformation. Of course, there has to be obstacles along the way and as Christmas grows closer, I was keeping my fingers crossed that they would work through it all and get their happy ever after. I really did enjoy this. It’s a fun holiday story that is sure to help you start getting into the spirit of the season.

Spoilers ahead

After weeks of hearing her mother complain about her new boss Miranda finally meets him, the only thing her mom forgot to mention was how gorgeous he was. That one night starts an undeniable connection between them that gets revealed in a very embarrassing way

Eh this one wasn't as good as broken for me.

Age gap of 13 years
Both fairly recently out of relationships
Drama because they kept the relationship hidden
Lots of sexy times
Interracial
No cheating, or OW drama

I love age-gap romances that aren’t so serious! Like when the younger character makes fun of the older character’s age, I just love that I think it’s so funny

Also something that I love in books, is when one character adds on a -y to the end of the other characters name 💋🤌 I just love it. Like how the h called the H Nicky instead of just Nick like everyone else. Idk why I love that kind of nickname but I just do so much

description
I love it when I'm barely 10% into a story and it's already one I just want to settle in and lose myself in the story. That was definitely my feeling about Unwrapped.

I immediately liked the characters. Even grouchy Nick was instantly likable because his scrooge like attitude was immediately explained. I was actually empathetic towards him. Obviously he could have been nicer, but let's be honest, it would taken away one of the key issues in the story.

While this had an insta-love vibe to it, I loved that it didn't feel forced. Miranda and Nick were so cute together. They may have felt an instant pull and attraction, but there was actually time spent getting to know each other before the L word was dropped. And really, who's to say when two people can fall in love? I also loved their banter and reading the way their relationship developed.

Overall I really loved this story and highly recommend this holiday romance.

3 1/2 Stars!

This one was a little bit tricky for me. I don't like when people keep big secrets from loved ones. But I guess that puts it in the taboo category... anywho, there was also an argument that I didn't like the resolution and I wanted more Christmas activities. Though our FMC was very much into the Christmas spirit. And there was some good adult activity. I guess I'm a little torn. There was a lot I liked and a little I really didn't like. But overall, I enjoyed it. Happy reading!

Aww now I know it’s probably odd to read a Christmas book at the end of July but I never feel the need to read them in December as everything is so overwhelmingly festive as it is!!

I enjoyed this. It was good and fun and the spice was great! But I loved the banter the MCs had with each other. I loved loved loved just how much they made each other laugh!! Too often it’s just books in a romcom style trying to be funny for the audience but this was so sweet and lovely how they made one another laugh!

Plus I loved the different characters and personalities from both families! That’s usually a rarity!!

Let me start by saying that I love Evelyn Sola’s books! This book is no different, I loved Miranda & Nick’s “forbidden” love story. Things get a little complicated when Miranda falls for her mom’s older boss.

Nick is just coming out of a relationship that ends in betrayal during the happiest time of year (Christmas) & Miranda is a college student fending off her parents request for grandchildren.

One of the things I absolutely love about Nick is that when he saw Miranda, he knew immediately that she was who he wanted and he never wanted to hide her. There was a point in the story that I got a little frustrated with Miranda however I do understand where she was coming from in wanting to take time before going public.

My favorite characters had to be Nigel & Mona. They were the perfect supporting characters with the best one liners.

Overall this was another great book from Evelyn Sola!

Nick Bain fails to make a good first impression on his Uncle's bookkeeper Mona (she hates him), but her daughter Miranda Moore is a whole other story. When Miranda sees Nick at the annual Christmas Party, she's agog and when he stumbles under her gaze, you just know he's a goner! Nick can't take his eyes off of her and she can't resist Nick's eyes. When her mother tries to set her up with a future doctor-in-the-making, Nick discreetly shakes his head to dissuade her, she's his! They banter and dance, and later Nick slips his phone number and a message to her. The rest is history as they quickly and both willingly fall together in love. Lots of laughs and a hilarious scene with Miranda's Family had me in stitches. I loved it and wanted this story to go on and on and on. Highly, highly Recommended: Read It!

I loved “Unwrapped”. The story has everything I love: age gap, forbidden, “he falls first,” a little angst, and humor. I laughed at Author Evelyn Sola’s one-liners she wrote for her characters Miranda to her parents. And the steam was on point.

Nick instantly falls in love with Miranda, though her mother, who works for him, cannot stand him. They date on the down low, though he wants to come out with their relationship. Miranda isn’t ready, primarily for fear that her parents, especially her mother, will not accept Nick. Nick relents, and they continue to see each other until it becomes a problem.

“Unwrapped” was perfect in every way.

Love hits you when you least expect it. Sometimes fast and furious.

Falling in love with your moms boss who she hates well that’s bound to be trouble.

Nick and Miranda were so fun to read. They were full of banter.

I couldn’t read fast enough because I needed to know the end. It was worth the read

This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I like her writing and her stories. They keep me entertained.

Such a fun Christmas story!!!

5 Stars / 3.5 Fans

If you are looking for a funny, sweet, smexy, and heartfelt Christmas story set in an office setting this is the one for you. I loved the combination of mother's boss and daughter finding true love. There is some Insta love aspects to the story but made in a way that is extremely realistic.

Unwrapped is a great story to do with the hoildays and about a age gap with attraction at first sight, nick is 36 and just wants a fresh start and ends up temporarily taking over his uncle company, miranda is a 23 year old who is in her last year at college, when miranda is forced to go to her mums work party where she can't take her eyes off her mums new boss. The attraction is so story and too much for them both to ignore. The relationship between both of them is hot and very passionate, I loved every minute of reading this book and have told people to give it a go. Great to read to get in the hoilday spirit. I got this book from booksprout and leaving this review voluntarily.x

So good

This has to be my favorite Christmas romance I've read yet! Evelyn sola is a really great writer. Her character development is superior and it definitely gets you as the reader more invested and engaged in the storyline. I absolutely loved the heroine, Miranda. She's really adorable and so full of Christmas spirit. The author does an amazing job demonstrating why and how the hero, Nick, falls in love with her so quickly and so passionately. Its really a lovely romance with great tie-in to the holidays and I quite enjoyed it! How she manages to throw in a bunch of hot love scenes and continue to make this story all about the Christmas spirit, I have no clue, but it works! Highly recommended

Ego fight
It’s a good, simple multiracial romance, very tender, cute and well written.
I liked the characters in this story who didn't face the eyes of society, but much worse: Miranda's family, because she's dating Nick, her mother's boss. However, her mother is very possessive and hates her boss, wrongly.
Some scenes are humorous, but the story is mostly tender and hot between the two lovers.

From slow burn to raging inferno, Sola has proven herself to be a master of the heart. Unwrapped may not be as turbulent as Vivi and Luke's Crash into love, but the road to romance is no less complicated. Nick and Miranda tackle hot button topics that range from age differences, interracial romance, instant attraction and foolish pride. It's a steep climb to a happy ending, yet the drama is what makes the endgame worthwhile.

Unwrapped is a seasonal instalove romance featuring Nick, who sold his business and temporarily agrees to run his uncle's business until he decides what he wants to do in his future, and Miranda, the daughter of one of his new employee who disliked him from day one. Nick and Miranda meet at the company Christmas party and they have instant attraction to each other. This is a great romance with polar opposite characters and a plot with indecision, drama, seasonal cheer, and steamy love.

Absolutely perfect

You have quickly become one of my favorite authors. What sets you a part from others is you write both characters so well. Often in romance books especially interracial ones, they write the man in a way that's makes it clear why she falls in love with him but they dont put that love into the woman's traits. She's either deeply insecure or fighting the budding romance the whole time. Your characters are always funny, smart & warm. I loved nick. Miranda was so lively & vibrant that you can't help but love her.

★ He’s her favorite place ★

—>>> Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - Christmas cuteness is abound in this story with Miranda’s penchant for going all out at this special time of the year and good-natured, age-gap ribbing between the two main characters. Nick Bain fell head over heels for a girl who showed up at the office holiday party, who turns out to be the daughter of his workplace nemesis. Fortunately for him, she feels the same, but they have a few things to work around until they can determine if they are meant to be together for the long run.
