3*s Review posted here... http://bookpassionforlife.blogspot.co... The Seer’s Lover was a good read in all and I liked the concept of the book but it didn’t quite hit the spot for me. The characters were likable enough and easy to understand, obviously Calise is the main character and I empathised with her plight as she is thrust into the world of Angels, Demons & Seers. Calise has always been able to sense when evil or good is around her and she thought it was just a sixth sense until she exposes herself to a Demon by recognising him, a good man protects her and forfeits his life but with his dying breath, tells her to go to Mal Pais and look for Carmen who will give her the answers she seeks. Once there she meets Lucas who is a true Seer, meaning his blood is undiluted and he can not only sense good & evil, he can see them in their true form and is equipped with extra abilities with which to fight them – continuing his ancestors’ legacy. Lucas has always kept this side of him secret because his kind are hunted to near extinction and he and his aunt Carmen have done okay up to now but things are about to change. Lucas tries to stay away from Calise, he feels an intense connection to her and she to him but he doesn’t want to take it further when she will be put in danger by those who hunt him and he passes the ‘gift of sight’ to anyone he sleeps with – which has had disastrous results before – so you can understand his hesitance but fate seems to have other ideas as they grow ever closer. I liked the love connection between Calise and Lucas but it was very much instalove like because they hadn’t spent much time together or had instances to be with each other but they ‘loved’ each other, it seemed a bit forced to me and I wanted the love to blossom properly so I was disappointed by it and really didn’t feel the love. Unbeknownst to Lucas, he has been brought to the attention of one of the most evil families around and they know what he protects, so they’re on their way to start a war between good & evil and bringing someone from Calise’s past along for the ride. What ensues is a battle where the odds are stacked against the good guys and just when they think it’s over…. It’s not! I did enjoy the idea behind this book and when the action was going on, it was great! I liked the good versus evil scenario and how the demons came to be on earth, what they did, how they tempted humans to sin and that they hid their true selves behind a glamour, they really are quite sinister in what they will do and you get some prime examples in the story so you can see just how depraved they are. Obviously we get the balance with an angel or two but it’s Lucas that seems to take on the hero role which did endear him to me a lot more, he has a great heritage to learn about and look back on, it’s a rich history and ties in perfectly with the good versus evil vibe. I thought what he could do was fitting, especially when we find out what he protects. I liked the connection the bad guys had to Calise and to be honest, I would have been more impressed if she had connected to that person because it would have been more interesting and they already had a history but I still liked the presence because everyone ended up tied into this triangle of enemies. This being the first book in the series, it opens the world up in impressive fashion and as I said, I did like the concept, it started of great and I was really interested but then my interest started to wane and by 70% I was bored – I don’t know why, it was well written and the content was good but I just lost interest and forced myself to read the rest of the book. I would probably read the sequel but I’m not in a hurry to do so.
Unknown to humans, there is a global war of good and evil. There are demons, angels and Transistors, which consist of fallen angels and risen demons, fighting one another. Seers of the world can see everything like true demonic forms, demonic illusions, glowing angels' auras, and other things that would make an average person go insane. Powerful demons have almost wiped out Seers. All Seers are from the bloodline of Joseph and Nicodemus, the two men who prepared Jesus' body for burial. The families have many powerful weapons & are guarded by specific angels. Alejandro is the angel in Mal Pais, Costa Rica, who looks after heavenly artifacts and the Nicodemus family, Lucas Rojas and his Aunt Carmen. Also the Mal Pais is The Howler Monkey Resort, which is a great honeymoon spot run by a human, Ron, and his demon wife, Anna. Anna loves to tempt all the newly married men to cheat on their wives, she sleeps with them all - and her hubby is totally clueless!
Lucas Rojas was raised to be a demon hunter. His father trained him to throw knives instead of balls. After his mom's death by demon, his father just seemed to give up. After his life went nuclear, Lucas ran & flew to his Aunt Carmen in Mal Pais. Now, he works at The Howler Monkey Resort giving horseback tours.
Calise Rowe was born into an average family, but always felt different by FEELING evil vibes that some people give off. It feels like ice cold water running through her veins or nails on a chalkboard!! One night while working at the family owned drug store, a strange man walls into the store. She is almost kidnapped, but a Hispanic man comes in and her world seems to stop. A strange energy pushes and pulls between these men. The unknown Hispanic tells her she isn't safe because demons now know she can see them. She MUST go to his Cousin Carmen in Mal Pais.
That is how Calise meets Lucas and learns the Carmen was his aunt. Calise likes the resort with this seriously EVIL VIBES!! The Anna chick KNOWS Calise knows demons do exist, but Lucas rescues her during het swimming lesson and they click. Lucas wants and craves Calise, but he doesn't want to pass his Seer power to her because she is so new to the REAL WORLD. Aunt Carmen only gives Calise the basic knowledge of what she feels, but Calise is more confused than she left her home. When a hurricane comes, Lucas and she finally get down and dirty for a few days. When they come back to reality, demons start popping up & Calise must go home without telling Lucas about her new Seer power.
Now she sees EVERYTHING: her BFF, her mom, and a past boyfriend have powers. Lucas arrives & together they must fight not only for their love, but also for mankind and Heaven. Will Calise ever be able to control her Seer power? How will Lucas save his family's weapons? Will their love be enough against all evil in the world? When is the next book coming out?
This was my first Kat de Falla book and I must say, WOW! She uses many different & scary elements in this tale, but she weaves the usual (for me) dark adventure seamlessly. This was an enjoyable paranormal romance of a totally different genre!! And like tubular total WOW, I understood Mizz Kat's angel/demon misadventures and loved this BOOK. Some authors try to create a whole new "WORLD" and totally lose and confuse me. Mizz Kat gave me a cosmos filled with a unique and loveable cast, I totally got & loved the confused imperfect Angel, who struggling with his Seer's powers. I don't know about you my peeps, but with eerie Seers' piwers, demons that crave human love, power hungry demons, and a Transistor who regret his choices, I would have been LOCKED UP in the looney bin!! Calise is a heroine who builds a false front to the world because she thinks she is so different & a lot like my sister, Shareé. Lucas somehow rose above it all and tried to be somewhat normal, but I felt he was such a different person when he was introducedto me as the reader. As I read this book (I only put it down to release Simba's heavy bootie, so I could pee ), I kept telling my daughter it was kinda like 1 of our fav TV show's Supernatural, but with a kick butt romance that she would even enjoy!! Mizz Kat that 7s a serious compliment because my beautiful only daughter does understand my OPSESSION with romance reading!! I had only 1 complaint, I WANTED more STEAMY scenes, but her story still flowed. I also want to tell the future readers of this book that it has a totally unique soundtrack of music that goes with some chapters & I, personally CAN'T enjoy my ultimate love to read. I especially enjoyed Lucas and Cali's sexy dance in this strange tale of goo plus evil! Now, I know I must use the PRG star system with this review, but I like my scoring system too, so Mizz de Falla earns 4 fingers up and 8 toes which is my scoring!

Calise is a seer, she can feel what's goin on around her, who's bad and who's evil. This type of power puts her in serious danger though, its up to Lucas to protect her. Lucas is another seer, who want's nothing to do with Calise in the beginning, but that eventually changes. There are angels, demons, humans and monsters throughout the book.
I'd definitely consider this book more horror romance with paranormal aspects, rather than just another PNR novel. I had a bit of a hard time following what was going on and who was talking as the book started introducing new characters. However, the story flowed well and had a beginning, middle and end. The writing was good for a debut novel. I just couldn't get into the main heroine, she seemed a bit whiny and flaky to me, which detracted from the story as a whole. The idea is original and well thought out, I would be interested to read the next book to see what happens. I'd recommend this to people who like multiple POV stories, you get the whole picture from all the different characters talking.

I really enjoyed this story. Kat de Falla does a fantastic job of creating an original world with endearing and creepy characters out of a familiar mythos. I loved her take on angels, demons and seers and am looking forward to reading where she takes this story next. Some said this book was too scary to read at night. I didn't find that, but I think that says more about my particular reading tastes than it does de Falla's creepy writing skills. I loved the dark and twisted sections and learning more about de Falla's demons. I especially enjoyed reading how angels "fall" to become demons and how demons can redeems themselves to become angels again. It's an original take and makes so many of the characters in this book multidimensional. Prepare to be swept away in a story with as many twists as unforgettable characters.

Calise Rowe is a pharmacist who has taken over her family pharmacy, but that is not all there is to Calise. For years she has been able to ‘sense’ something from people, whether they are good or bad, and this has made her a little different from others. One night as she was working in the pharmacy alone, a man comes in to get a refill and after that moment her life if forever changed. She travels to Mal Pais where she meets Lucas and his aunt Carmen, and learns all about Seer’s, angels and demons who all apparently walk the earth. Problems arise and it becomes a fight between the seer’s and demons, a fight which has been going on for years, but will their combined efforts be enough to save not only their lives but help the world as well?
When I read the summary for this book my first thought was this like Supernatural, angels and demons, so I was interested in the book. However, that interest did not stick throughout the book. I felt that the plot line was extremely rushed and all the events that occurred needed more time to develop. Getting from point A to point B did not seem very realistic to me, I would give examples but I do not want to spoil for anyone who wishes to read the book.
In regards to the characters, I usually try and find at least one character, main or supporting, that I can connect with in some manner. There was not one character in the book that I was able to do that with, I was expecting it to be Calise because she has a pharmacy degree and I am in med school now. I felt that the characters did not have enough time to fully develop, which was a result of the rushed story line, so I ended up not liking any of the characters, good or evil.
Overall I really wanted to like this book because I think it showed promise however, it just fell flat in my opinion. But do not let that deter you from reading this book, one might pick it up and decide that they like, it just was not for me.
** Romance and horror mixed together makes this a great read **
I started this book not sure what I was getting into, but soon enough it had sucked me in.
It's a romance mixed in with light horror but I really liked it. All the characthers are very different and all have strong voices in the book. If you like demons your in luck this book is full of them, let me tell you now though there not nice, they're really horrible, ugly, abusive.... Then you have angels that counteract the demons and the seers that hunt demons to protect the humans.
Calise is a young woman that thinks that something is wrong with her, when her path crosses with a seer she's suddenly in danger and needs help, so she travels abroad.
Lucas is a Seer he is so nice, he has not had an easy time in the past, he tries to keep his distance from Calise, but fate has different ideas.
Mix in some nasty characthers and and an exciting storyline with twists and turns and you have My Seers Lover.
I'll happily read book two when it come out.

**i was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review**
I received this book for an honest review from LOP.
As i began to read this book I was intrigued. I could relate to Cali as I'm sure most of us could when we get 'bad feelings' However, one thing that annoyed me was that she had to go to this exotic place to find answers. I am not a fan of this setting as it isn't always (in my own experience) pulled off well.
Cali meets Lucas who is also a seer. He gets the attention of some really bad demons and the story goes from there.
It is a story full of potential and I'll admit, I loved to hate Anna. The time frame, with chapters having months between them put me off.
The Seer’s Lover resembles a literary roller coaster, replete with emotional ups-and-downs, plot twists and turns, and not to mention the endless action.
The Seer’s Lover has been on my TBR for some time, but I did not get the chance to read it before now. My reasons for purchasing this title at the time was twofold. I chose to read this book based on the synopsis and the cover, which I found eerie. I had no experience with the with the author’s work, but because this was a story about the supernatural world, I expected to have a great time.
What is the book about? Calise Rowe, a pharmacist, has the ability to sense unusual energy from persons she comes in contact with. She did not understand what it meant and her questions went unanswered. However, she would discover the true meaning behind her abilities, when she inadvertently exposed herself to a demon and was saved by a stranger. The stranger directs her to travel to Costa Rica where she would find the answers she desperately seeks. Lucas Rojas is a seer, with the ability to see demons and angels who walk among humans. He comes from a long line of seers, dating as far back as to the time of the Messiah. He has kept his abilities secret because his kind has been hunted by demons whose intent was to obliterate their lineage.
What I enjoyed. The story introduces readers to a world where demonic forces desire to control humans where angels protect humans from the wrath of these and seers whose job it is to destroy these evil forces. The beginning was intriguing which, made me eager to uncover the secrets that lay between the pages.
I found the fight scenes between Lucas and the demons exciting and exhilarating. I thought these scenes were well written. The author provided detailed descriptions as it relates to these scenes allowing me to visualise every action that took place at this point.
I enjoyed the way the author conveyed her feelings into the story. Her ability to keep me engaged was on par for the most part. I thought the word building was good. The pacing was good. This along with the writing helped me to get through the story.
The issues I had.
Unfortunately, I had a hard time connecting with the characters. None of them elicited any emotion within me. Have you ever been to an event where you encounter a group of people whom you have never met, but for some reason, their actions prevent you from wanting to get to know them and you can’t wait to leave? Well sad to say this is how I felt about the characters in this book. My least favourite character was Shane, Calise’s ex-boyfriend. I found him to be weak and pathetic. His relationship with Calise ended a long time, but he was still obsessing to the point where he became unstable.
The romance between Lucas and Calise lacked credibility. First, it was an insta-love connection and second at no time did I see where their feelings for each other were allowed to develop. They never got time to know each other, before declaring their love for each other. As a result, I was unable to connect with them as a couple.
The story felt a bit disjointed in some areas. The movement between scenes in some areas did not flow resulting in it appearing unreal. Then there were the many unanswered questions that I was left with at the end of the story. I am still trying to figure out what happened. I am wondering if the answers are in book two, but I am not sure if I am keen to venture there.
Verdict This book had potential, but it did not work for me. However, even though it didn’t work for me, don’t be discouraged from giving this book a try. If you enjoy paranormal stories about angels and demons and don’t mind insta-love connections, you will love this book
This new to me author has created a parallel universe with seers and demons and all manner of good and wicked beings..... Calise is a gifted and unsuspecting newcomer to this alternative reality and Lucas is her guide....war is coming and our heroine and hero are at the heart of the events as they unfold..
This was such a wonderfully imagined story but I found myself struggling at times with the legend and lore of the world which was complex and full of detailed history....in addition the narrative frequently jumped from one group of characters to another..it felt at times like I was reading 2 or 3 stories which were mixed together.
I loved the premise of the plot and the characters were all interesting and believable ....a gripping and enjoyable read which left me wanting to read more about the seers, their allies and foes......I received a copy of this book through the Quirky Blind Date with a Book in exchange for a fair and honest review.....
Calise and Lucas are great together. They have such powerful chemistry. Decent story about good vs. evil. Not my normal genre, but I enjoyed it. I voluntarily reviewed a copy via Quirky Blind Date with a Book.
when I read Luca's story I wept. this man has been through so much and has so much guilt and goodness in him. It's hard to see him struggle with himself. Calise struggles with what she doesn't understand and one night this struggle becomes reality. Suddenly life changes for her and she is on her way to her future.
when you begin this book you see that Calise is lost and confused. Lucas is mired in guilt and wanting to get close to Calise but not bring about all the pain others in his past have suffered and a battle between good and evil is brewing. There are many sides of a coin in this book. The angels, the fallen, the devil's children, the seers, the transitors, the humans and the children I think have a big role as well. There is also a few prophecies going on that we aren't to privy to but I believe all will be revealed as the story unfolds more.
the ones that to me are the saddest are the transitors. Shane becomes this and is in despair until the end. I hated to see such a man fall into the trappings of evil and despair. His love for children and Calise is sweet but I don't think enough to sustain him. I think it can even lead to his destruction in a way. he is torn and lost and is easily led astray and his plotting was just horrible to see. So desperate for love and understanding that he really becomes all he loathes.
the seers are Lucas and his family. Others exist but I feel that him and his aunt are the most pivotal in the series due to the family history. His aunt takes him in when he runs from all that is hurting him. She helps to guide him and feel safe but she also has secrets and guilt. there is so much guilt and regrets amongst these two it is no wonder they truly haven't talked. The love is palpable and you know that if Carmen hadn't helped Lucas he wouldn't be the strong kind man he is. she brought him from despair and hopelessness and gave him a sense of purpose. that is until Calise. Calise helped him find peace and happiness. She also helped him embrace who he is and become a better man. Her love and acceptance is what broke down his walls and he truly fell. I think this also helped his relationship with his aunt for Calise helped him learn to open up and talk so him and Carmen finally do come to terms with things. Now I think they are in for a fight for their lives that Calise will also play a big part in.
the angels aren't really seen to much. this really is about the seers and the plans Nara has for revenge. About Anna relinquishing to fall again and having Alejandro see who he really is. About the prophecy of the end of days and who will come out on top. Alejandro is still in hope of Anna redeeming herself, Lucas is hoping to stop evil from taking all that is good and have a happy life with Calise. Carmen is hoping for peace and tranquility and the children I am not sure where they fit but I know they are important in this equation.
The characters are nicely developed and you do get alliances with them. each character has their own inner struggles and battles and you keep wondering where they will land. Always kept on your toes as their struggles play out in the battles between good and evil. Even Nara has a struggle. Personally I find her to be lack of any worthy qualities but she does add a essence of her own brand of scary evil to the book. She is the key I believe to all of evil just not sure how. She does freak me out though. Shane adds the element of how hard we fall and how we become what we are so desperately trying to avoid. I kind of felt for him he was really manipulated by Nara in the worst most horrendous way. Even worse than what Anna did to all those men. And that is saying something. Anna plays a part as for she triggers the prophecy in motion and I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing yet. I hope that she comes to realize she is redeemable but not really seeing it right now. Lucas and Calise will just steal your hearts and have you smile. They really are great together. so cute. ellen on the fence but do love her fierceness. Dean cracks me up. Liza so happy with her ending. In essence all the characters help build the plot and suspense within the book.
A exciting read in which good vs evil in devils and angels plays out with seers playing a pivotal role. I also believe somehow the transitors will really come out as well. As you read the story of the seers what they are and the battles that are ensuing you will be sucked in and wanting to know more especially of the prophecy.
Calise always had a sense of good and evil around her. When a frightening incident opens her eyes so to speak, she sets off to find more answers in Costa Rica. There she meets Lucas and feels an instant connection that is shared by him. Lucas's family has been seers for generations, and to protect his family gifts he has to ignore or fight demons. When he finds that Calise can sense the demons (a seer herself) he is even more enamoured. As they fall in love, evil is working to keep them apart or even kill them. As events happen in tandem, they find themselves in the fight of their lives. Can they make it through safe and together? With the help of family and friends they move forward as the world plans the final battle.
This is a paranormal, young adult style story with a love story twist.
Wow! I had NO idea what to expect when I started to read this book. Judging on the cover alone, I was almost sure I wouldn't like the book. Glad I didn't judge a book by its cover. I was more than pleasantly surprised by this book. It's not a normal read for me, but I'm so glad I took a chance! Calise Rowe gets feelings about people. Some good, some bad. She almost feels crazy and wants to understand what's going on. After a crazy encounter she ends up in Costa Rica looking for answers. She meets Lucas and gets answers... plus a little extra. Her life changes completely and she's plunged into a world she never would have believed existed. I'm excited to read book 2 and see what else will happen!
So what happens when your intuition is not just your intuition? When gut feelings turn out to be right, when the sensation that something evil lurks among us happens to be the truth? What happens when you find out that the ideas, feelings, and thoughts that made you seem crazy were based on a deeper understanding of the world around us? Calise Rowe is about to find out that the world she thought she knew is nothing but a shade dimming out the truth and the people closest to her are not who they seem.
Calise or Cali has always had a sense for things, a bad feeling about someone or a calm feeling about someone else. During one late night at her job she has a run in with not one but two strangers that turn her world upside down and send her on a journey to Costa Rica to find out her true nature. A journey that will take her down a path where there is no turning back and going forward could cost her, her life.
But Cali is not alone and on her journey she meets Lucas. A sexy sun-kissed delectable man with secrets of his own and a connection to Cali’s quest for the truth. As her and Lucas continue to get closer to each other they find it hard to resist the connection that burns between their hearts and soon Lucas is met with a decision. Protect Cali from the truth and send her away from him or help her to understand what she has always felt, that Demons and Angels walk among us and she has been given the gift to sense the difference. As Cali learns more about Lucas and the gifts they share she is dragged further into the war between good and evil, one that will test every ounce of her courage and strength of the love in her heart.
There were so many things to love about this book. This book had a fantastically creative plot. I loved the linkage between the present and the past especially how De Falla utilized the stories from the bible. I think it provided a very strong foundation for many of the aspects of the story like the artifacts, prophecies and Angelic names. I also loved the flashbacks in the story; they flowed easily and allowed the reader to gain insight into the past of the characters without detracting from the present storyline. It was just enough to satisfy the reader’s curiosity into the characters’ history. The descriptions of the locations from the weather, to the sights, sounds and smells were immensely well done. I could literally hear, see and feel the ocean while I was reading.
So after all this you may ask why I didn’t give the book five stars, so let me explain. Though the plot was creative and the descriptions were phenomenal, I felt some things in the book were rushed. There seemed to be a lot going on at all times of the novel, it felt as if everything was always happening all at once without time to breathe or actually take it all in. It was as if the book was action packed to a flaw. At some points months would pass by between two chapters it just moved a little too quickly for my liking. I wished there was more time spent on the relationship development between Lucas and Calise. Though I felt their love was genuine, in the novel it happened really fast and as a reader I wanted to enjoy it more. I think De Falla could have lingered more on some of what was taking place, I don’t want to go into too much detail as it would lead to spoilers. But despite the quickly moving timelines and abundance of events taking place the book is an enjoyable creative read, that will engage all your senses and allow you to drift into a world filled with dreadful creatures and diving beings.
Calise Rowe has been working in her family's business since she was sixteen years old as a cashier but she swept the floors in grade school before she was cashier. When her father had a heart attack during her senior year in high school and gave up his position as co-owner with her uncle of Rowe's Pharmacy. Calise knew then that everyone expected her to go to college and get her degree in pharmacology. So she did what everyone expected she got her doctorate in pharmacology and became a part of the family owned business.
Calise has this secret ability where she can feel these powerful waves of energy flowing around certain people. Calise wanted to know the truth about what she could feel. She wanted answers as to what and who she is. Her mother always told her to ignore it; it is nothing, to keep it hid from the outside world.
After an incident at the pharmacy one night while she was filling a prescription for a new customer she was determined to find those answers. So she took off on a little vacation to Mal Pais. She is going to stay at a friend of her brothers from high school who owns a resort on the island. Her brother's friend, Ron has been in Mal Pais since their vacation right after they graduated. Ron met a woman on the island, fell in love and decide to stay and make a life for him and his new wife on the island.
If Calise thought she had ran into a little trouble back home she was sadly mistaken. She was going to find out real quick like how wrong she was after meeting with a few people on the island. Oh she has met up with some very good people as well though. Luca is one of those people being the most gorgeous, sexiest man alive. Whom she wants to protect at all cost. But this new guy Lucas has sworn off women. You see Lucas is a seer and he has had some bad experiences with women in the past and Lucas never intentionally wants to hurt anyone. So therefore he has put women out of his life for good. Lucas will not let anyone get close to him anymore.
I loved how gifted the author is in making the characters come to life. She gave a very descriptive explanation of each and every character in the book. She made the words jump right off the page at you. It's like you could actually picture it in your head. You're like dang I would love to see that on the big screen!
She also has a way of making you feel what the characters feel as if you are there with them like you are a part of the story. You don't feel like you are reading. You get so lost in the story as if you are that character.
This is the perfect book for those who love good v evil, light v dark and angels v demons.the seers lover is a book about a girl who has special power to know when good or evil are near. She falls in love with a seer who see anhels and demons. He gives cali some of his powers to see what he sees. This book is a god verse aatan this book is very well written love story.
Calise Rose is a recent college grad who has found herself behind the counter, working her not-glamorous job as a pharmacist. It seems the average 9-5 job is a bit mundane and has even referred to herself as a “legalized drug dealer.” This wasn't her first career choice, but pharmacology ran in her blood and now it seemed to be her turn to manage the family drug store.
But all of that changes when a man named Mr. Parker enters her store and attacks her. Another man comes to her rescue but is ultimately killed. Upon his final words he tells Calise to find his sister Carmen in Costa Rica. Immediately she heads there and is thrown into a world of supernatural beings.
I loved reading about Shane O’Grady. His character was written beautifully and the downward spiral his life seemed to be taking was devastating. I was really rooting for him to redeem himself and was saddened when it didn’t happen. It was actually kind of odd that Shane and Nara were my favorite characters. Usually, I immediately side with the protagonists, but for some reason, I just couldn’t do it. I think it had something to do with Lucas and Calise’s relationship. I just wasn’t sold on it. Sure, they had a slight crush on one another but love? No way. I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. But there was also the fact that I still wanted to Shane to win…
Ms. De Falla is beyond creative with her use of ancient artifacts from Jesus’s crucifixion, past bible stories, and angels, then incorporating them into this exhilarating story of its own. These are my favorite types of books to read because they challenge the reader to open their minds and fully understand that there is a lot more going on in the world than our tiny little human lives. To learn the role of Alejandro and Anna at the end of the story was amazing! The whole idea surrounding the Seven Arch Angels has always intrigued me and I am really looking forward to the next book in this series!
I would give this book a 3.5 if half stars were an option. It is a good book, don't get me wrong but I didn't love it. The story follows Calise, a pharmacist who has the ability to feel certain people who are purely good or innately evil. She doesn't know why and tries to ignore it but she knows there must be a reason for it ... or she's crazy. Taking the advice of a man who dies in front of her, she heads half way across the world in the hopes of finding answers. Here she meets sexy Lucas, the temptress Anna and a whole lot of evil. There's angels, there's demons in the classic struggle of good vs. evil and maintaining a balance. There is a really great story line and the first half of the book had me flipping pages like a crazy person - the second half I found a bit harder to read. I found it a little too drawn out and dragging a bit. I do think there is a lot of potential for the series and I am looking forward to the next book. I'd really like to see what happened to Shane & Mara and what is going on with Abaddon, there is the potential for some awesomeness with these devious characters. This was a fun book and I look forward to seeing where Kat takes it. The inclusion of music to accompany certain chapters was also a nice touch! Keep on writing :) I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
This is an adult paranormal with romance, an angels versus demons tale with multiple storylines and multiple POV voices. Told in third person with alternating voices, each chapter tells you where you are, ranging from Wisconsin to Costa Rica to Kansas to Russia - all over the map, really. Some of the narrators are good, some are demons, some are wavering in between... but all have their own agendas.
Even though I've read plenty of YA angel stories, this was my first foray into an adult version. Kat deFalla takes the reader on a break-neck journey into her world of angels, demons and "seers," those who can see the paranormal creatures who walk among us for what they truly are. The continuous action kept me reading, keeping me guessing as to what would happen next.
If you enjoy creepy paranormal thrillers, give this book a try. It's the first in a planned series, so if you like it, there will be more to come! But I totally recommend leaving the lights on while reading this oh-so-creepy tale.

The Good: I liked the book. The storyline was unique and intriguing. Within the first few pages, the action picks up. The author was not afraid to make the demons realistically bad, and not afraid of sacrificing innocent lives. The world the author built is complex and interesting and fully immerses the reader into the story.
The Bad: The story seemed a bit choppy. Some places were wordy, while others were a bit sparse on description. I am also not a fan of when authors drag out character back stories. It may add to the drama of the character, but for me, it detracts from the story.
Overall: The story is great. It can be a little dark, but if you don't mind the dark stuff, this is a good book to pass the time with.

'The Seer's Lover' is a great story about good and evil. I was pleasantly surprised that the storyline did not fall into the usual good vs evil, heaven vs hell, angels vs demons books that I've read. I enjoyed the way this book put a twist on the good vs evil aspect. I loved how it played out. The characters were great. Calise turned out to be a great character and entered superbly into her role of the overall plan. Lucas was instrumental in her awakening as a full seer. The action was imaginative and descriptive. The romantic aspect was pretty hot and steamy that built the foundation of Lucas and Calise's bond. I loved it. A great add to your tbr list.
Angels and demons walk the earth and one pharmacist is about to see the world in a whole new way. From America to the jungle and beaches Costa Rica Cali is looking for answers. If she is able to trust in love again she might just survive and save more than herself. The author really pulls you into this world and leaves you on the edge of your seat. Glad I read this over the weekend because I really could not put it down. As a member of paranormal romance authors that rock, I read a look of books, but this one is on my favorites list. I can not wait for the next one!
5 Out of 5 fangs for sure!

In the beginning I thought the demons were much more powerful than the seers. It felt like the seers were getting their butts kicked all the time and I thought - how on earth do the seers even have the will to want to fight the demons when all they do is lose? The seers seemed a little too weak for my taste. I really liked the relationship the seer’s have with the angels. That aspect of the story is good. The story was interesting and I liked that it took the reader around the world to different locations. Overall, I liked it!
The Seer's Lover is an interesting book. From the start up to the last, this book is full of surprises. The story and the characters are great. The story is easy to follow and understand. The characters are easy to relate with and love. One of my favorite characters in this book is Lucas! He's brave and full of surprises. All the characters have their own unique personality that made the story more interesting and unforgettable. The other characters are also good (aside from the main hero and heroine). Ms. Kat did an amazing job in making The Seer's Lover an interesting and fun book (with all the surprises that I did not see coming)!
