Sweet Winter by Daisy Landish Book Review
Back for his father's funeral Sammy is afraid to take chances. His past has shaped him this way. What or who could change his mind?
Maggie is going to lose her job, all she has. What happens when her ex shows up? Can they work together to save the Library?
Daisy manages to sum up Maggie's feelings beautifully. The heartbreak, the anger, the feeling of being unsure and of learning to trust, to smile again. “Crying and praying, then hating and damning him, on and on in cyclical patterns that made no sense and only ever hurt.”
Stuck in a Snow Storm. You'll love the forced proximity Trope.
It's a really emotional read.
“How did I let him back under my skin” Will Maggie let herself be loved again or is she too heartbroken?
“Lanterns crafted by the town's artisans lined the paths, coasting a warm glow on the frosty ground.” At the Winter Heritage Festival all is aglow except for our characters who need each other, can they forgive and will they be together?

In this sixth book of the Maplewood Grove series, we start with Sam returning to town, which made me feel a little maudlin. What do we learn about his childhood bedroom? How old is he? Who is Solomon? I am not sure how I feel about Solomon. Where is Maggie this morning at the start of her part of the story? What is said or done by the Carlton twins? Those two make me madder than a wet hen. When Maggie goes to the library, who does she run into there? I love that Isabel, Rachel, and Diana support Maggie through her emotions. Their encouragement was nice. I got all sniffly and teary-eyed at the end of chapter two. Watching Maggie ask for Jasper's help made me grin. Reading what Maggie overheard Sam and Solomon talking about made me angry with her. Can things be repaired/ Read and find out!

Fast paced novella, full of drama, emotions, friends, regrets and a very small town of Maplewood Grove. There is a winter carnival that the town has and for the first time in years, Sam has returned to the town. They were together years ago but both Maggie and Sam went their own way. As they work together , they realize that their feelings are still there and now growing. Now they have a second chance for their hearts to melt and be happy. Good characters and storyline. Would recommend to everyone.

A sweet second chance romance short story. I enjoyed this story of Sam and Maggie in the small town of Maplewood Grove. It was full of emotions stemming from young but true love and then their heartbreak when Sam leaves for the big city. Being a short story, there wasn't much character development of the secondary characters but the author did a great job with Sam and Maggie's. I quick entertaining read for romance fans.

Sweet Winter: A Clean Small Town Romance (Maplewood Grove Book 6), my forty-sixth enjoyable short (54-page) romance read from author Daisy Landish that I finished in under an hour. “I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author & in this series with Sweet Storm: A Clean Small Town Romance (Maplewood Grove Book 7)due out on January 22, 2025. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.

A second chance of romance for Sam and Maggie . So sweet and heartwarming to see. These two were meant to be. Maplewood Grove has two sweethearts reuniting to organise the town carnival . Maggie Foster and Sam Carter, they find their love hasn’t quite faded and their fire is rekindled aglow. A heartwarming story told as only Daisy Landish can , a quick read with all the feels . Well written and feel good too.

This is a cute second-chance romance between Maggie Foster, the town librarian, and Sam Carter, the childhood sweetheart who left her for the excitement of the big city years ago. The story is sweet reading, but the pace did not feel as smooth other books in the series. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

What a beautiful story. Maggie and Sam didn't seem like they would get their second chance. But they did and I loved their story with the fun, adventure, and also misunderstandings. A great story.

Another lovely romance from Maplewood Grove. Sam and Maggie find a second chance at love. Will Maggie forgive Sam for leaving her behind so many years ago? Will Sam be able to show Maggie that he loves her and deserves a second chance? I enjoyed this entertaining book very much and urge people to buy it. You won't regret it.

Can be read as a standalone but some of the characters overlap. He's returned home to help the family but isn't feeling very welcomed. She's never left but feels undervalued. Seeing her ex after learning devastating news doesn't help. Now they are expected to work together? Will they be able to get closure or are they going to continue exploding every time they meet?
