Becoming Magic is book one of a complete course in becoming creator of your own exceptional life. In this book, I outline the exact steps that enabled me to move my own life from one of poverty and drudgery, to one of previously unimaginable wealth, purpose, abundance and joy. ‘But Magic? I do hope you are joking!’ That’s what I would have said, five or ten years ago. I once despised all things ‘New-Age’, all these spiritual types and their airy-fairy views, their bad science and their irrational beliefs. I read all the New Thought and Law of Attraction greats, Wallace Wattles, Anthony Robbins, Rhonda Byrne, Napoleon Hill, Esther Hicks and Wayne Dyer. But no matter how many books I read, or how closely I followed their instructions for manifesting money or love, I couldn’t make it work. It was only when I recognized, accepted and finally embraced that what I was doing was actually some kind of Magic that suddenly things began to fall into place. Once I realized that the power came from within me, it was as if the light had suddenly been switched on and my manifestations began to work. I learned how to manifest money and love, but I also learned how to be happy, truly happy. If you’re jaded by New Age spirituality and the whole Law of Attraction idea, or have become bored by its failure to deliver… this book is for you. It is my intention to lead you by the hand through a marvelous journey of wonder and adventure. Part one of this course, Becoming Magic, lays the groundwork for becoming a magical person, while part two, Doing Magic, offers concrete techniques and instructions for bringing wonderful things into your life. The plan is to build your knowledge slowly, gradually, building on what has gone before, moving on to more complex techniques only once the basics are mastered. So many people fail with Magic and the Law of Attraction because they rush headlong into using techniques, trying to create enormous manifestations, making very simple but crucial mistakes. When they are disappointed, they imagine they have been duped. The sceptics are right. This is all a load of scammy nonsense. And they give up, declaring it just doesn’t work. I am telling you that it does work. And you can make it work. And this book will show you how. My intention is that this book will allow you to become a true creator of your own exceptional life, reawakening and rekindling your belief and interest in Spirituality, The Law of Attraction, Reality Creation, Cosmic Ordering, New Thought or whatever you wish to call it. I prefer simply to call it Magic.
When I was a child, I could do Magic. I felt powerful, confident, immortal, with an underlying sense of goodness, positivity and an innate power to affect everything around me. At some point, and for the next 30 years, I forgot all about Magic. I forgot how to do it.
And my life became dull, poor and ordinary.
Now, having rekindled the fire of Magic once again, I have successfully used it to turn my entire life around in an almost miraculous fashion. In my books, I show you how to do the same.
I'm British, down to earth, straightforward and not at all your usual paragon of spiritual loveliness. I drink too much coffee, eat too much of everything and laugh at rude jokes.
I also love animals as much as people, even the rats...
I've read several books on the Law of Attraction that generally had good intentions. I received a free copy of this book and enjoyed it so much that I had to purchase the series on book and audiobook. I had been a fan of Richard Dotts, but if you had questions, he wouldn't respond to emails and there was never any contact information. This book is entirely new and different. It's full of honest advice and no gimmicks. I really appreciate the review of why things can go wrong, discussed in this first book. The author also provides contact information and follows up. It is also notable that all proceeds of her books and audio books are going to charity. She published her advice and tips to be genuinely helpful and it shows. If you are looking for an honest, real world way to begin to change your life, this is it. It won't be for everyone, since she doesn't guarantee overnight success and notes that it won't be easy for most people, but it is indeed worth it. I appreciate realistic advice.
I've read plenty of law of attraction books. There's something different about this one, though, that made its lessons refreshing. I think it was the whole idea of not just envisioning the things you want...but becoming the person who naturally attracts those things. I'm looking forward to continuing on to the next books in the series.
This book took me from the brink of depression to hope for the life I have always dreamt of living. It lifted my spirit and set me on the right road for success in all areas of my life. I'm truly GRATEFUL for Genevieve Davis!
I felt that the book repeatedly said what it wasn't about and it bored me. Perhaps, I picked up a few phrases here and there but not enough to want to read the rest of the series of books. Sorry folks this one needs to be a bit more informative.
Awesome little book!!! The game of success in life is about raising one's vibration and this is a great introduction for those new to esoteric knowledge without all of the usual, spooky fluff.
I know I'm not supposed to complain, according to the book. However, my one complaint is that the book doesn't feel like it was written with love. It truly intends to help the reader, but all of the talk about negativity and how one can "mess up" seemed like it could be detrimental to the reader. People reading this sort of book tend to be fragile already, and they don't need to be led down a path of more anxiety and fear. Aside from that, these methods do and will work. The best information truly does come without a hefty price tag, as if you truly want to help people, you do it out of love to help them, not for a profit. I enjoyed the book, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that's "fragile."
Some interesting new opinions, but not much new here. Book 2 is where the magic happens apparently. I think this will be helpful to some who've had little success with other methods, and seems to be well intentioned. A fair few typos need tidying up but add authenticity to her (self-declared) 'amateur' style. Positive thinking, attitude of gratitude, believing and trying to limit how much we want things (which implies we don't already have things) - all important points, but all of them I've heard before. Next book...
This book doesn't tell me anything new, but it does put those facts in a way I hadn't appreciated before. A lot of things make sense now. Off to go do some magic!
This is a great book, helping me on my journey to self discovery. I can’t wait to follow the instructions and get up each day and remind myself of how grateful I am to be a part of this universe!
Another excellent, easy read, information packed book !
Another insightful, informative, quick - easy read book by Genevieve Davis ~ with simple, easy to follow steps in the adventure to manifesting an exceptional life! Thank you Genevieve Davis 🙏💕
I just read a recent book by Genevieve and it really resonated with me so I looked for more of her books...it turns out I bought and read this book in 2017. I just re-read it and it makes so much sense. I don't think I was ready to absorb the important messages then. I am ready now.
This book is a good self-help book that explains what magic is and how to become magic. And no, not the type of magic where you can make things appear and disappear! in this book, the Autor explains that magic and becoming magic is the sparkling feelings of been alive, the energy of feeling you are capable of anything and feeling on top of the world.
After reading this book, you will have an optimistic and excited feelings about the future. Because, it explains to you how to look at things, the world, and people in a positive way and the effect it has on you.
If you are someone who complains a lot, then I will definitely recommend that you read this book. I am guilty of this as well. Lol. But after reading this book, I have learnt and understand that complaining, will only invite more things to complain about.
In this book, you will learn about the effect of manifestation and how it can have an effect on your overall result. For example, if you manifest to have a perfect partner, but you still feel within yourself that you are not worthy or beautiful, this perfect partner your wish for, is most likely not going to come to you.
Although, at some point, the Autor seems to be contradicting herself. I.E, she said the whole “thoughts become things” principle, is all wrong and then went on to explain the effect of “manifestations”
This is a small and easy book to read. However, I still feel like I haven’t understood this book completely. So, I will be reading it again. In other to make the most out of this book, I will advise you to read it more than once and then again and again.
Kenny’s takeaway quote
“If you are not ready, you will lose it every time” – Genevieve Davis

Genevieve Davis' Becoming Magic: A Course in Manifesting an Exceptional Life (Book 1) is a different sort of self-help book. Ms. Davis offers advice for self-help from a "magical" perspective.
Here's a passage from the book:
"Put away your rational mind, and feel. If you feel nothing when reading, put the book down, deem it a waste of time and move on. But if you feel an excited sense of belonging, of coming home, of truth, then keep reading. Does this seem exactly what you are looking for? Does the timing of your finding this book seem a little too perfect to be dismissed as mere coincidence? Do my words seem to speak to you? Do you feel excited at the very thought of this? Don’t fight that feeling. Keep reading. I may be exactly what you have been searching for. Prepare to be amazed, for this book is like no other."
Ms. Davis writes as if she's at your kitchen table, telling you what she's discovered for herself. As with any self-help book, the reader should take away what is helpful and leave behind what doesn't help. Good luck in your quest to discover magic in your own life.
Well worth reading only if you prepare to change your mindset,
I have just finished reading this book and feel inspired and excited for the future. Ive tried manifesting from other LOA books and I’ve tried vision boards and so on but I honestly now see the missing link in all of it and I feel this book contains that tiny little Nugget of information all the others fail to mention. I start today with gratitude, thank you for writing this book Genevieve and thank you for the knowledge i have gained from reading it. I will do the inner work and buy the next book when i know things have stared to change for me.
Consistency is the hardest part of LOA. I've had great luck and I've in the past also struggled.
And as rudimentary as this book is, it gives it to you straight! You can't skip levels anymore than you can go from lifting 10 lbs to lifting 150 lbs overnight w/o injury!
This book reminded me of how to start over and build a foundation again. Mine had cracked.
I'm looking forward to finding general improvement in the next few weeks and then moving on to get next book!
The most straight forward and most authentic explanation of the Law of Attraction of any book I have read and I have read very many over many years. This is different, very different, at least in how this first book presents - and it was all true! No one ever told me this! That is why it has not been working for me! I am already seeing the things she has talked about and have read this book 5 times (it's very short, 1-2hr read) to make sure it sinks in before I went on the Book 2. I think I am ready now for book 2.
I love the authors fresh and unique approach and attitude when it came to creating magic. It's not about casting spells or trinkets, but in shifting how you act and consciously paying attention to who you're "being" in the moment. This is pretty no-fluff and practical. It's an empowering read even if you're not seeking to do magic but to feel more control and power over your life.
I have a good life. I've created some wonderful relationships, experiences, and possessions. So why have I been feeling unfulfilled? Maybe I've forgotten my Magic. Thank you Genevieve for helping me remember.
This short, powerful book is a great one to read if you're ready to accept responsibility for creating the life you want. If you're looking for a "push this button for instant happiness and everything else you've always wanted" approach, you won't find it here (or anywhere else).
This book is a very good practical no nonsense guide to learn how to prepare yourself to begin manifesting. They are steps you must take before you can begin manifesting or you're results can be disastrous. I just finished book one and will start book two. I will keep you posted

It takes some patience with yourself but I’m definitely seeing results. With complaining I’ve noticed how my body feels as I’m complaining and it’s forced me to stop and refocus on the positive. It is a moment by moment challenge but I getting better. Looking forward to book 2!
Very basic. If I knew this was for manifesting newbies I would not have read it. It was well written with no typos. I took off a star because the author kept giving doom and gloom warnings about skipping ahead to her next book.
Yes!....I would recommend this one. There are certain thing in life we as humans are looking for. And this book is one of them. It short and to the point. The author is straight up and very direct about the intention of the book.
This was a great read i expected this book to tell me how to do magic but the message I got from it was to fix myself and align myself and values with whatever I’m trying to manifest and that magic comes from within it’s not something that’s taught.
Short book but pretty good. The main thrust is quit complaining, which tbh was a good reminder. Our society is big on mutual bitching as a form of connection.
I appreciated how she broke down the difference between complaining and sharing a problematic issue so it can be resolved.
