Special Operations Captain Matt "Richie Rich" Girard can't afford to get involved. He's on the verge of a court-martial after a Top Secret military operation gone wrong, and he's been ordered to stay out of trouble while he's home for his sister's wedding.
But when Evie's ex-partner turns up dead, staying out of trouble is the last thing on Matt's mind. If he's going to protect her from a ruthless killer and find her sister before time runs out, he'll have to risk his entire future--and both their lives--to do it.
HOT MESS (#2)
English professor Dr. Georgeanne Hayes has a problem. Her star pupil, an Army sergeant who works in a Top Secret government program, is missing—and someone tried to push her in front of a train last night.

When someone threatens Georgie’s life again, Sam will do anything necessary to keep her safe. Even if it means spending the next few days locked up in a remote house on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with her.
Sam might be used to denying himself what he wants, but he’s about to find out that being cooped up with Georgie will push him to the limit. And maybe beyond.
HOT PACKAGE (#3)

But as time runs out and the snow piles up, can Billy and Olivia work together to thwart a lethal plot against the Pentagon without getting involved again?
WHAT DO REVIEWERS SAY ABOUT LYNN'S BOOKS?
"I am so adding LRH to my auto buy list!!" -- Just Plain Sassy
"I highly recommend this series to readers who love romance [...] with a military theme.
Lynn Raye Harris is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of sizzling military romantic suspense novels and contemporary romance novels. She lives in Alabama with her husband (former military), her cat, and her American Saddlebred horse.
The intimate scenes are the best parts of the 2 books I read. I'm hesitant to call them adult. A mature teenager shouldn't have a problem, but they do have some steamy areas.
Just a few adjustments to this story and it would have been a solid 4 stars for me.
There was action and suspense on virtually every page. Most of which I enjoyed. Unfortunately there were also instances of the mc's having 'Asinine' moments during the action. Then there is excessive repetition in the mc's thoughts about each other, their past and themselves. Add to that, some of these thoughts are truly juvenile.
A Mother's Rant ⤵⤵ At the 10% mark there is a scene that really aggravated me.
"She turned and tried to smile politely at Jimmy. He wasn’t bad-looking, with his dark hair and dark eyes, but she’d never liked him." "Evie pushed his hand away and kept smiling. There wasn’t an ounce of friendliness in it, but she knew Jimmy was too dumb to see it."
I don't know what the author was trying to portray here, but, quite frankly, if I don't like someone and they put their hands on me, I am NOT going to smile politely. I will slap the sh#@ out of them & I expect my daughter to do the same. Especially if you think they are too 'Dumb' to get the message. NO MEANS NO! If you have to, Kick Them Where It Hurts! You do what you have to do to make your point clear. I am a Southern Woman. We Do NOT politely smile and take that type of behavior with a wave of our fan and a giggle. We Do Not train our young Southern Ladies to be polite about being harrased in that way.
The rest of the story was pretty good. Good enough that I kept reading and didn't dnf it. It is interesting & it has potential. The adult intimate scenes were not overdone and they were romantic. Not super hot & steamy, but definitely adult.
I have the bundle of the 1st few books in the series & I will read them eventually. I just can't say when that will be.
All in all, it is an okay read. About midway between 3 & 4 stars. Since I round down, this is a 3 star for me.
Boring. No real errors. No real action. No real suspense. A lot of yacking. Intimate scene was the best part and that was also filled with a lot of yacking.
This collection is a great start to a great series!
Fans of sexy military men and the women who love them will enjoy this collection that includes the first three stories about members of the elite Hostile Operations Team. These men thrive on danger and always get the job done, especially when the danger involves women they love and will die to protect. I enjoyed the book and two novellas in this collection very much. All three stories kept my interest from the first chapter to the last and all three stories were well written with characters that you will want to read more about. I will definitely continue on with the rest of the adventures in the series!
I loved all three books in this box set. It consists of the first three books in Ms. Harris' HOT series. The HOT team consists of eight members. Each member gets his own story. So far there are seven books published, and an eighth is due out this sometime this year. The books are interconnected, but each can be read a standalone. FYI, of the books in this set, only the first book is a full length novel; books two and three are novellas, each around 100 pages in length...actually book 2 is listed at 136 pages. I rated all three books 4 1/2 stars.
HOT PURSUIT
Wow! I absolutely LOVED this book! LRH is one fabulous writer! And what an imagination! Wow! The story that unfolds in this book is, in a word, riveting! I read the entire book in two days--well actually one, considering I didn't start reading it until Friday night, and finished it by Saturday afternoon. The hero, Matt "Richie Rich" Girard is the leader of his H.O.T. team, and he's pretty freaking hot to boot! LOL Anyhow, the Hostile Operations Team unit is a secret branch of the military whose members undertake deep covert operations. In the prologue we meet Matt and his team while they are out on a mission. Subsequently, the mission goes badly and Matt loses two of his team members, but not before the entire team is taken captive. Two months later, Matt is back in his hometown for his sister's wedding, while awaiting a hearing to determine his future with HOT. Matt is from a wealthy, privileged family; his family owns an oil company, and his father is a state senator...hence the team name "Richie Rich." LOL
Evie is back in town since going bankrupt and losing her restaurant, after all her money was embezzled by her accountant/lover. Nowadays Evie works as a shampoo girl in her mother's salon while sending out resumes in the hopes of getting a chef position--preferably somewhere far away from Rochambeau. Evie and Matt were childhood friends, ever since they met when Evie was six and Matt seven. Over the years the two hung out, until they hit their teen years when things started to change between them. Eventually the two drifted apart, but right before he left for West Point, Evie asked Matt to be her first, and he took her virginity. When Matt bragged about sleeping with Evie then departed for college, he left Evie's reputation in tatters, which made her senior year in High School pretty horrendous. I have to say that the more I heard about Matt as a teenager, the less I liked him...as a teenager that is. As a man I love him! Anyway, I wish Evie had called him to account for his bad behavior when they were teenagers. When she first lays eyes on Matt, for the first time in ten years, she thinks to herself that he had been "a self-centered, arrogant jerk with a giant sense of entitlement..." Yet when she does come face to face with him and he tries to apologize, she downplays his selfish behavior, even taking part of the blame onto herself! She tells him it was partially her fault because she shouldn't have asked him to be her first! I didn't like that. I wanted her to tell him he'd been a a$$hole. That's what she really thought, so that's what she should have told him. In any event, that was all in the past, and wasn't significant to the story.
The first time Evie and Matt come face to face, things are a bit awkward between them. Evie tries to keep Matt at a distance, but he's drawn to her and can't stay away. That first night, the two find themselves at the same party by the lake, which is where the action gets started. The book is chock full of excitement, what with shootings, a house bombing, high speed chases, a kidnapping, and organized crime. Wow! All the events take place over an intense 48 hour period, so as you might expect, the story moves at a really fast pace. Developing side by side with the organized crime aspect of the story is the relationship between Evie and Matt. Matt is determined to walk away from Evie after he helps her get her sister back and makes sure Evie is safe; he doesn't believe that his job is conducive to having a long-term relationship. There is also the fact that Matt's future is uncertain, as he has no idea what will happen when he attends the hearing regarding his career...there is the possibility that a court martial will be recommended, which could mean time spent in Leavenworth. And even if he is reinstated, Matt doesn't think it would be fair to ask Evie to live with all the uncertainty associated with his job every time he went out on a mission; not knowing where he was going, how long he'd be gone, and when or IF he'd be coming back.
My favorite part of the story is the end, where Matt finally claims Evie as his. I thought it was so romantic. I loved the fact that Matt came to the realization that no matter what, Evie was number one in his life. He realized it; he accepted it; he made it abundantly clear to Evie. Sigh! I read a few reviews where readers were annoyed by Evie's constant refusal to follow Matt's directions. Usually I too am annoyed by the idiotic female who is going to "save" the hero, even though she has no special training, not even in self-defense. However, in this book, for some reason, Evie's actions didn't bother me. Oh there was a time or two when I told her she really needed to stay put, but I could see her point. It was HER sister that was in trouble, and Matt was putting his life on the line to help her. I could understand why sometimes she'd go off half-cocked to make sure he was okay. When you're sitting around waiting, without any clue as to what is happening, five minutes can oftentimes seem like 50 or more. So even though there were times when I thought she was crazy, and maybe even a little annoying, I found her behavior realistic.
As much as I loved the story, though, there were a few times when I thought it tended to be a overly dramatic...one such example is the scene by the lake where the shooting takes place. Matt and Evie both thought it was just some crazy redneck that was probably drunk and shooting off his gun, yet Matt went into full blown covert operative mode. I had to laugh when he was smearing dirt over his face and arms--because he had no grease--and he was thinking that he should have rubbed dirt on Evie too. That was a mite crazy. I also couldn't understand why the house was blown up. That never made any sense to me...I figured it was just to add more drama to the story. It also got a little tiresome listening to Matt's inner dialogue about all the crazy things that were second nature to him because of his training as a Special Forces soldier. After a while I was like, "enough already! I get it! He's a well-trained military machine!" Sheesh
Nonetheless, aside from a few moments that seemed over the top--at least to me they did--and getting a little tired of hearing about how well trained Matt was, I really liked this book. I loved it, actually. The series is so darn HOT that it's got me hooked! Speaking of hot, the love scenes are hot and graphic; furthermore there is some crude language in the story, for instance the f bomb is used quite a bit. Anyhow, that's my take on the story, it wasn't perfect, but I loved it, and I definitely recommend it as a worthwhile read. FYI, there are eight members on the HOT team, each of whom gets their own story. There are seven books in the series right now, and the eight book is due out some time this year. Hoo-ah!
HOT MESS
This is the second book in the Hostile Operations Team series. In book one, team leader, Captain Girard, got his lady love. In that book, we are introduced to HOT in the prologue, while they were out on an op, during which two members were killed. By the end of that book those two positions remained to be filled. The hero in this book, Sam "Knight Rider" McKnight is one of the replacements. In this book, Sam has been newly recruited to the HOT team, and the events in his story take place several weeks after the events in book one.
Sam and Georgie are childhood friends; her big brother is Sam's best friend. Georgie is from a wealthy, privileged background and Sam is from the wrong side of the tracks. Georgie has pretty much been "in crush" with Sam ever since she was thirteen years old, but as far as Sam is concerned, she is strictly off limits. When Rick, Georgie's brother, asks Sam to check on his sister, Sam and Georgie meet again for the first time in six years. The last time they saw each other was at Georgie's wedding. Georgie lives in Maryland, where she teaches college courses to Army personnel. One of her top students has missed several classes, and the Army won't give her any information. When Sam goes to see Georgie, she asks him if he could find out what happened to her student. Subsequently, Georgie's life is threatened, and Sam discovers that Georgie's student has been murdered and that he was involved in illegal activities. These illegal activities are linked to the threat against Georgie, and the HOT team is mobilized to neutralize that threat. In order to safeguard Georgie, Sam takes Georgie to a safehouse.
While the two are sequestered together, sparks begin to fly between them, and old feelings are brought forth. Sam is determined to keep Georgie at arm's length, but he's fighting a losing battle, and Georgie certainly isn't making it easy for him. LOL I LOVED Georgie. She may be from the elite, country club set, but that woman is REAL! Sam sees her as some kind of princess; he thinks she deserves the best; diamonds, silk sheets, and fancy clothes, all things that he cannot give her. In reality Georgie is no such thing. She's as down to earth as they come, and she has her own issues. Georgie went through a divorce almost a year ago, after her husband cheated on her for several months, before finally leaving her for the other woman. Her self-esteem took quite a beating, and since then Georgie hasn't felt really attractive. She wants Sam, has always wanted him, and she doesn't hold back in letting him know that. I admit that when I read the reviews that said that Georgie went after Sam, I was concerned, as I don't like heroines who are willing to throw away their pride all in the name of love. I usually don't respect them. However, that is absolutely not the case with Georgie. Georgie is strong. She tells Sam she wants him, and she thinks he's an idiot for thinking he's not good enough for her. But she doesn't beg, and she absolutely doesn't demean herself in order to get him. What I love is the way she talks--what a mouth! She's certainly doesn't talk like a princess. LOL
Some reviewers complained that Sam's hot and cold attitude towards Georgie was annoying, but I found it completely realistic. Sam was fighting a battle on two levels; on the one hand, his job is not conducive to a committed relationship. He can be deployed at a moments notice, heading to parts unknown, for an indeterminate period of time, with no guarantee that he will return. He didn't think it was fair to ask Georgie to have to live with that constant uncertainty. Furthermore, his assignment to HOT was brand new, having a new relationship so quickly after being assigned to such a high level, stressful job, I think, would make anyone think twice. Then there was the more personal reason; Sam didn't think he was good enough for Georgie. He had demons stemming not only from the fact that he didn't come from Georgie's world, but also from the mental abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents. Under those circumstances, it was no wonder Sam blew hot and cold. His heart was at constant war with his mind, and when you add in the intense sexual attraction that existed between the two, let's just say he doesn't stand a chance.
In some ways, this story is similar to that of the first book; the hero and heroine have been friends since childhood, with the heroine having a crush on the H since she was a teenager; Georgie asked Sam to be her first lover just like Evie in book one had asked Matt, although in this case that situation turned out completely different. Then there is the fact that Sam, like Matt, doesn't think he can have a committed relationship with his job, and tries to push Georgie away. However, for the most part, this is a very different story. Book one was action-packed with high speed chases, a kidnapping, shootings, a house bombing, and more. This story doesn't have any of the excitement that book one did. Once Georgie and Sam are secluded in the safehouse, the story focuses on the couple and their relationship. The threat to Georgie gets neutralized without any fanfare whatsoever; on that level the story was a bit of a letdown. Nevertheless, for me, overall it was a very satisfying read. Besides when it comes to the sex scenes, the ones in this book are way hotter than those in book one! They are scorching hot, and graphic! No clean romance here, ladies. LOL FYI, this is also the crude language in the story. Now I'm off to finish book three. Hoo-ah!
HOT PACKAGE
This is the third book in the Hostile Operations Team series. The series is so fantastic that as soon as I finished one, I started another. As a matter of fact, I read all three books over two days, and was up until 1:30 a.m. this morning finishing this one! All the HOT books are interconnected, but each can be read a standalone. In this book, computer whiz, Billy "The Kid" Blake gets his HEA. The events of this story take place just a few months after those in book one.
In this story, LRH mixes things up a little; unlike the heroes in books one and two, both of whom were convinced that there wasn't any room in their lives for a woman AND their job, Billy is open to the notion of a committed relationship. As a matter of fact, Billy and his lady love, Livvie, dated for a period of six months, before she upped and walked out of his life, after giving him an ultimatum...either his job at HOT, or her. Now several months later, Livvie is in a bind, and shows up on Billy's doorstep asking for his help. Livvie is a public relations expert for a weapons company that is in the middle of a bid for a big government contract. When she uncovers a dangerous conspiracy; she goes to Billy for help, who in turn enlists the aid of his fellow HOT teammates.
When Livvie and Billy first lay eyes on one another, for the first time in months, the sexual tension between the two is palpable. After Livvie left him, Billy struggled to move on with his life without the woman who had come to mean so much to him. As for Livvie, she is convinced that she made the right decision for her peace of mind, and her heart, when she preemptively left Billy, even though it was the hardest thing she had ever done. The book is super short--at around 90 pages, it is the shortest one in the series to date--so the story books at a super quick pace. Nevertheless, Ms. Harris packs a lot of story in a few pages, and the end result is a very satisfying read. I loved the fact that H and h had a history together--a fact which has been true for all the HOT stories that I've read so far. Both Billy and Livvie have issues stemming from their childhood--Billy with abandonment; Livvie with trust. This story is a nice balance of romance and suspense. Billy and Livvie have to team up to find the necessary evidence to expose her company's nefarious plot; while working together old feelings are rekindled, and eventually the two achieve their HEA. When the couple finally confessed their love to one another, I found it totally believable, even though it happened very quickly. It was pretty obvious that despite their time apart, Billy and Livvie had never stopped loving one another.
Overall this was a very satisfying read. The sex scenes are hot and graphic, and, as with the previous two books, crude language is used in the story. These books are certainly not what one would all clean! LOL Anyhow, I can't wait to read book four, but if I don't force myself to take a break from this series, I seriously will not be spending any time with my family over the next few days--not to mention, I won't get anything else done...excepting reading. So, I'm done with book three, and I don't plan on hitting book four, for at least 24 hours! But I WILL be reading it and SOON!! Hoo-ah!

Hot Pursuit (A Hostile Operations Team Novel)(#1) Lynn Raye Harris
4.5 Star Review – Hostile Operations Team , #1 series I recommend this book. Full review - http://reneeentress.blogspot.com/2013... I enjoyed this book by Lynn Raye Harris. Look forward to the next book in this series. Lynn managed to stuff betrayal, a kidnapping, murder, car chases, an explosion and hot sexy passion all in the same book!! So really the book has something for everyone lots of twists and turns you don’t see coming.
Evangeline "Evie" Baker’s stuck as shampoo girl in her mother salon. She is back in her home town Rochambeau, Louisiana after trusting the wrong person, her ex-partner; David West. She was betrayed and lost her small bistro in Florida, and her money. She also found out after he disappeared he might possibly have organized crime ties. Really how could her life get worst? Captain Matt “Richie Rich” Girard is on leave from the Army after a mission went horribly wrong. He was running an OP for HOT “Hostile Operations Team” when he was captured and two of his team members were killed. He has a bad feeling about the OP and felt it should have been called off but he followed orders and lost two men. It is eating away at him. Matt has returned to town for his sister’s wedding. He needs to stay out of trouble. Just attend the wedding and keep his head down. Matt goes into Evie’s mother’s salon to get a haircut. These two have history as they were once best friends. She offered him her virginity and after they were together he got drunk and bragged and she was shattered by his betrayal. Then he left town and so she had to deal with all the bullying from the kids. She decides to go out, the first time since coming home, and shots are fired at the lake party. Someone pulls a knife on her and Matt has to save her. He apologizes to her and although she is still hurt for the way he treated her she knows he was only 17 at the time and really just a kid. After her little sister; Sarah is kidnapped they find out David was also skimming money from the mob and they want the money and the records he took back. They have to figure out what those records are as the people who kidnapped Sarah have killed David and injured her mother. Matt’s team is pulled into the book as he calls them for help and advises them they could get into trouble by helping but as “brothers” they all pitch in anyway and help out.
Read the book to get answers to the below: What are the records the kidnappers are looking for? Will Matt’s team get into trouble from helping him? Will Evie and Sarah be reunited?
Some favorite parts from this book: "Stay on my six," he said, nuzzling the hair at her ear and breathing deeply the sweet scent of her. You remember what that is, right?" "It's your ass." He bit back a chuckle. “Yeah, that’s right. You watch my ass and I’ll watch yours. That’s how a team operates, got it?” “So we’re a team, huh?” “We’re a team” “Then let’s go get ’em.” “Easy, tiger. We’re going through the back door, but only after we’ve set up a perimeter.” “Lead on, Superman.” Matt bit back another laugh. “It’s Richie Rich, actually.” “What?” “My team name. Richie Rich.” He saw the flash of her teeth in the darkness. “Of course it is.”
“If you admit to that, then I got to admit I authorized it. And then Kev and the boys will have to admit they were involved. That cell’ll get mighty crowded out there in Leavenworth. And if you think I’m sharing a shower with you, stud, you’re crazy. You’ve been eyeing my ass since you came to work here.” Matt couldn’t help laughing. “Respectfully, sir, you ass notwithstanding, I’d rather showerwith a rabid monkey.”
She regarded him seriously. “No, I don’t think you’d make a good chef. Better stick to being the muscle babe.”
His head dropped for a moment, his eyes closing briefly. When he looked at her again, his smile lit up her world. “I’ll move heaven and earth to make you happy, Evie. I want you there when I wake up every morning and there when I go to sleep at night. I love you, even if you don’t do a damn thing I tell you to do.”
Hot Mess (A Hostile Operations Team Novel)(#2) Lynn Raye Harris
Sept 15, 2013
4.7 Star Review – Hostile Operations Team , #1.5 series I recommend this book.
I enjoyed this book by Lynn Raye Harris. Look forward to the next book in this series. Lynn managed to stuff heartache, a missing person, murder, and hot sexy passion all in the same book!!
H.O.T Team member Sam “Knight Rider” McKnight was sent to check on his best friend’s sister Georgeanne Hayes. Little does her bother know but Sam has lusted after Georgie (or “G” as he calls her) for years but he knows that he is not good enough for her. He has been avoiding her for years for that same reason.
When she asked him a favor to look for a missing person she fears something happened to he cannot deny her request. In researching the missing person he finds out that Georgie herself is in danger. Now he must protect her from the unknown with the help of the rest of the H.O.T. team. Georgie has wanted Sam since she was fourteen years old. Being with him day after day as her is her protector brings back all the feelings from when she was younger. She wants Sam and she will have him. As time goes on she knows she loves him but he is pushing her away at every opportunity.
Can she get him to realize he needs her as much as she needs him?
Or will he leave after this protection detail is over and not look back?
I love that you can really feel the chemistry between these two in this story. Lynn really let you feel the push and pull between the two no matter if they were talking or having sex. At one point I really wanted Georgie to smack Sam…. Loved that Georgie came right out and told Sam what she expected from him. If she could have just gotten him to listen a little sooner she would have had less heartbreak. Loved the tattoos on Sam some guys can pull them off some not so much. All in all a really great read!
Hot Package (A Hostile Operations Team Novel)(#3) Lynn Raye Harris
4.5 star
I was pulled right into this short story. The story has laughs, pain, betrayal, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Hot Pursuit (Hostile Operations Team, #1) Hot Mess (Hostile Operations Team, #2)
This is Olivia and Billy “The Kid” Blake’s story. Olivia and Billy used to be a couple until Olivia asked Billy to give up HOT. He went on a mission and she left. Now she is in trouble and knows that only Billy can help her. She tracks him down and asks him for help. After investigating and having everything look bad but not have any real evidence can he trust his gut feeling that something is off? Will they be able to continue to look for clues or is the danger now after them? Will they come out of this together or futher apart then before this all started?
I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
HOT Pursuit There was a lot going on in this book. Twists and turns I never saw coming, and some that I expected that didn’t turn out the way I thought. Now, I’m a sucker for a second chance, and I loved seeing Matt and Evie get the opportunity to put to rights everything they broke so terribly all those years ago, but I have my moments of doubt that they’re ready to do this for the long haul. On the other hand, the mysteries they were trying to solve kept me glued to the pages. Though, the ending happened a lot faster than I was prepared for. However, I’m now intrigued by these military heroes and I’m looking forward to reading more. HOT Mess Oof! These two. There’s some similar drama and angst between Georgie and Sam, for some pretty similar reasons, as the first pair in the series. But these two have added layers of complications that appealed to the same parts of me that love watching the mess that’s usually reality television. I loved Georgie. I loved her strength and resilience. I adored the ending they got. However, there were a bunch of times when I wanted to reach into the book and smack some sense into Sam. Now I can’t wait to read where this series will go next. HOT Package Holy moly! The types of emotional baggage these two have kinda seem only to trigger each other to bigger feats of relationship self-destruction. I loved Billy and Olivia together, and I wanted so badly to see their second chance succeed, but they had a lot of growth and recovery to do first. I think the thing I’m enjoying most about this series is just how fierce and independent the heroines are. They give the author’s heroes heart palpitations, but I love them all the more for it.
I would have given this boxed set a 5 Star rating, but I could not and even 4 is generous. I am extremely disappointed the only story in the boxes set completely worthy is book 1, Hot Pursuit Matt and Evie's story. Even though the other two stories have magnificent heroes, their stories were extremely short. Hot Mess was half the size of book 1 and It Package was about 96 pages, a quarter of book 1. This was a complete turn off because I discovered this author with her second and third series, which were very good so of course I wanted to go back once I found about the original 14 book series that started it all. I bought them all. I always will do a review as soon as I read a book. I am completely honest with my opinions in my reviews. It is too late for me to return these, so all I can do is dead them hoping I can the a full length story that will redeem my views of the series. It is too bad, but I feel author's should not start out a series with a full length book, book the reader and then put out half products after. It is not honorable in my opinion. I bought the books so I will read and review them, it was a lot of money to waste. My son gave me a gift card and I spent it all on this author's first series. If you are interested, to directly to series 2 & 3.
It hardly ever takes me a month to read a box set. Especially one that's two novellas. The first book was really good and I blew through it quickly. It was a four star read.
But the novellas? They were almost an unbearable slog. I cared just enough that I wanted to finish them, but there was no rush whatsoever and I could go two or three days without touching it.
The biggest reason for that is that the heroes, the members of HOT who are supposed to be the core of the series, were barely secondary characters in their own stories. When I'm reading a series like this, I want the guys front and center. Not 30 pages without their POV showing up. I also didn't care AT ALL about either of them. I had zero reason to be invested in their stories. Especially the second novella, who was never mentioned in the first book. And then Billy's, who was mentioned in the first book, was a total disappointment.
I had planned to read the rest of the series after book one, but now I'm not so sure. It's been a long time since I was this disappointed in a military hero series.
Each book in this set is pretty good, the characters are relatable, the women aren't whiny or annoying, the men tend to be a bit overbearing at times, but eventually they get over it. Wasn't a big fan of Matt at first in the first book, but he eventually grew on me, Evie deserved a really great guy, he needed to grovel more for me. Sam was a little better in book two, and Georgie was a great heroine, smart and sassy. But Billy was my favorite, he just was, I liked him the most, and liked Livvy the least of all the HOT heroines.
1 full length novel and 2 novellas in the series comprise this 3-in-1 box set. All three feature a different couple with a set of characters that carry over from story to story.
All three also feature second chances, new beginnings and some steam as well as suspense which mix well together in winning combinations.
I especially enjoyed Billy and Olivia together with Georgeanne and Sam a very close second. Couple #1 of Evie Baker and Matt Girard had their ups and downs for me but were vindicated with their eventual HEA.
Loved the author's voice but was disappointed to find only one full-length book with 2 novellas. I can never rank novellas high because there just isn't time to develop anything. Thank Heavens these were included because they would have been useless purchased separately INHO. For those of you who don't mind novellas that are 1/3 sex, don't mind me :)
Enjoyed all the characters but I must say I noticed a trend when it comes to the heroine...
Lots of action, suspense and loving passion! Just as real as "evil" are the men of honor and high integrity. Author Lynn Harris writes of military men who are willing to fight for our country and freedom without any open recognition for their service. When they find that special woman, each one fights as fiercely for love as for the military.
Thought they were a good start to the series. I thought the first book was the best out of the three, but probably because the other two were novellas. Wanted more time in the stories. Liked the characters and they storylines were good
Loved the books. Great story line and great sex in the books. I like how you can figure out who the stars of the books are. I like the mystery in the books and I liked #1 best.
Well I guess the years apart and the time to think didn't change things for her. She didn't realize it. Well until now. Both men love the ladies. It's just that two ladies are taking up a place in their head and hearts.
t His was a great book The stories were amazing & well written. There was a lot of suspense and excitement. It was hard to put it down to do anything.Great from start to finish.
Great read, loved the mystery with the hea. Great characters and storylines. Hot and sexy military men and the strong women they get their second chances with make for good reading.
Just like the team name. Each member has hard to protect people they care about and have almost lost but with help from the team they do and find love.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
Great story as always. Read the whole series. The stories are fun and moving. Lynn Rage Harris is an outstanding story teller. A good read all the time.
This was a great boxed set. The characters were great. The plot and storyline were great too. Each book has a hero that is Alpha and hot and sexy. Their lady friends are really into them. The chemistry between them is sizzling HOT🔥.
I liked the second book the best. Although they were all great.
