As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

I wanted to read this series for a long time and now that I finished the first book, I can say that it's a good start for the series. I loved how the MC and secondary characters were really close and were always there for each other.

The story was about Jake, 33 and Emma, 31.

Emma's mom and older sister were killed in a car accident when she was 18. She was left with her sister's daughter, her 12 year old niece, Laurie. She was granted guardianship of Laurie. She left college and moved back home to raise and take care of her niece. Though it took them longer than others to graduate college, they did it.

Her niece, got a job in Fairfield, a few hours away from her but after a year apart, Laurie wanted her to come live in Fairfield too. Once she got a counseling job there, she turned in her notice and move to Fairfield.

Laurie was setting him up with Jake. He's a detective with his partner and childhood friend, Tom. Jake, Tom and Rob (Laurie's boyfriend) were friends for a long time. He thought Laurie's aunt was an old lady. When he went to the bar to meet them and welcome Emma, he didn't expect she's younger than he expected and even liked her before they were introduced to each other.

Both of them didn't know how to make a relationship work. Her, raising Laurie and him, living and looking after his mom who had Rheumatoid Arthritis and it's a deal breaker for other women.

They liked each other. They had a talk and decided to see where it goes. They're good for each other and they made each other happy. But something was going on at the school she's working at. She tried to help the students but then she started to receive threatening notes.

When she found out who the villain was , everything happened so fast and they didn't know if she can make it. It's a beautiful touching moment in this book. She did recovered of course and I loved the epilogue! I hope Maryann Jordan writes beautiful epilogues like this one.

I enjoyed and still enjoy reading Harlequin romance books. The stories are usually very sweet and, 10 times out of 10, end in a happily ever after for the characters. Well, Emma's Home reminded me of traditional HQN story. It contained all the familiar trappings with characters that endeared you to them in the most unique manner.

Emma Dodd was sweet and selfless, and absolutely the type of woman you'd want to know in real life. She seemingly gave up everything in her life to become a full-time caregiver for her young niece, Laurie, when she herself was only about eighteen years old. Laurie and Emma were a mix between mother/daughter, aunt/niece, sisters/best friends -- it just depended on the moment of their life. They were all each other had left of their family after the tragic death of Laurie's sister and mother. Because they were so close in age, Laurie and Emma both struggled to finish their college degrees. They took longer than the average student would; however, they did it. Laurie earned her degree and moved to a small town, Fairfield, to become a teacher. While there, she met the love of her life and fell madly in love. Her new, permanent, home was in Fairfield. But, her location took her three hours away from Emma. So, as soon as Emma was able to find a student counseling job, she too moved to Fairfield. Emma's first night in Fairfield changed her life forever because that's when she met Jake Campbell. *Sigh* Jake was a 100% alpha male who was loyal, dedicated, and loving to the core. Oh...did I forget to add he was a hawt and sexy law man? Because he was. After the death of Jake's father, he moved back into his mother's home after she was diagnosed with a debilitating disease. Jake's "living with mommy" situation definitely put a crimp in his love life. He had yet to meet a woman who'd accept the role that he happily played in his mother's life. Well, that was until he met Emma. From the moment he laid his eyes on her...POOF...that was it for him. She. was. his. one.

I really enjoyed the flow of Emma's Home. It was sweet and sexy without being overly erotic for those who do not enjoy erotic romance. I also appreciated that the story had just the right amount of drama and suspense woven throughout it. Most readers will figure out "who done it" fairly early on but it was well played within the story.

This is Jordan's first book in the Fairfield series and I'd definitely say she has a winner.

It is so exciting I think to be able to read a novel from a debut author and on top of that it is a beginning of a series which I so enjoy. It is triple rewarding when you are finished (which was accomplished in a day) left well sated for a minute mind you because you know must read the next one in this series. Emma was such a wonderful character that this author has breathed to life that starts you on a wonderful journey. Being a single parent myself could connect with her on sacrifices she made to raise her sister. But now her sister has met the man of life and it is Emma's time in a way too. Time to choose something for just herself and immerse herself in it. Laurie has set her up on a date but also to meet others along with her boyfriend Rob. Jake has agreed but goofs up right off the bat, delightful scene by the way. This town is similar to what I grew up in so it made this so easy to connect with the talent of this author. They are all surprised at how young she still is but then she tells their story. Jake is quite the man also-alpha through and through. Takes care of his mom also and does not view it as a burden, a man after my own heart. Being a detective also is quite the career of a man I enjoy reading about. So when she mentions the house she is to look at and maybe buy he is not about to let her go alone because it has been vacant for quite awhile. It just so happens later that evening he appoints himself her protector even when she says she can take care of herself. Sheesh glad there wasn't any arguments there. So this author has definitely hooked you by now and not letting go but where would you go it is so good. Their relationship builds filled with heat that if it was any hotter you would burn your seat. Little occurrences start happening that create intrigue which is another plus this book has to give. Fast pace with a wonderful flow that when you find out all the why's and who done its that is where the man this was wonderful comes in. A must read to find out why it is that Emma is finally home and the wonderful characters introduced to and come to love. A wonderful gift from this author that will satisfy any one needing a fix of romance. Received a arc for a honest review.

I was lucky enough to receive this book from Maryann Jordan before it was published and for this being a new author she did an amazing job. Just knowing this the beginning of a series makes it so much better. I really enjoyed how she used so many emotions through out the book. I giggled and cried. I fell in love with all the characters. This story is about family, love, and finding your home. Emma took in her niece when she was only 18. She not only took care of her but she also did what she had to do to finish college. Emma is a very strong person and you can see this as you read her story. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

***I was lucky enough to beta read Emma's Home from Author Maryann Jordan.***

This is the debut novel from Maryann. And can I saw what an amazing job she has done with Emma's home. We got romance, drama mystery. I absolutely devoured this book. I couldn't get enough. I LOVED every moment of this book.

Emma becomes like a surrogate parent for her niece when her sister and mom are killed in a car accident. Emma is now a high school counselor.
Emma is a loving women who has devoted her life to raising her niece.
When Emma moves to be closer to her niece Laurie she meets Jake.

Jake is a detective in town. I LOVED how these two meet each other at the bar. I absolutely LOVED Jake. He is such an alpha male. And Jake will protect the people he loves at all cost.

Emma and Jake may not have been looking for each other, but they found each other. The chemistry between these two is AMAZING!!! I so enjoyed watching them grow, and fall in love. I gave Emma's Home 5 stars!!! I can't wait until the next book. Which is Laurie's Story!!!

I loved reading Emma's Home. It's Maryann Jordan's debut novel and she really did hit it out of the park with this one. It has romance and suspense. Emma hasn't had easy life. She has ended up raising her niece (Laurie) who isn't much younger than her. Emma moves to be closer to Laurie. She meets Jake who is a friend of Laurie's boyfriend. It's funny because at first Jake expects Emma to be old because she is Laurie's Aunt. Jake and Emma have instant chemistry. Jake is taking care of his sick mother, which has been a deal breaker for all the other girls he has dated. He's afraid that it might be a deal breaker for Emma too.
Emma works at a high school and some of the football players have come to her attention by falling behind in school work. Jake and Rob are police officers for the town. Emma's work and Jake's work collide when Emma gets threatening letters. I found who was involved in leaving the note a little predictable but I still read on because I wasn't sure.
There is no cliffhanger.

Oh where to start! Have you ever put your life on the back burner for the people you love because it was the right thing to do? That's exactly where we find Emma and Jake. They are two people that have sacrifice so much however have no regrets. Still there is a hole waiting to be filled by the right person. This first novel by Maryann Jordan is so refreshing. It combines a passionate love story with a little mystery mixed in! Both of these combined makes for a story you cannot put down! I highly recommend you join Emma and Jake as they set off to build Emma's Home!

I loved writing this story and as I have watched the reviews roll in, I have to pinch myself to realize that others love the characters as well. Emma is a strong woman, smart, funny, and has a huge capacity to love others. Jake is an alpha male, with a heart of gold. From their disaster of a first meeting to falling in love, with their friends by their sides, Jake and Emma will take you on a journey. I hope you enjoy their journey as much I did writing it.

Absolutely LOVED this book! I had the honor to read Emma's Home, and I was blown away! This is a very down to earth and realistic story that will touch your heart. Not only is it steamy sexy but the challenges that Emma faces would be completely overwhelming to others. If you are looking for a book that has a very strong female lead, this is the book!!

I was lucky enough to have gotten and ARC from Author Maryann Jordan.

Maryann has done an amazing job with Emma's home. Not only did she give us our love story but she gave us drama suspense and a little mystery. I loved the story from the first chapter.

We have Emma who is high school counselor. After tragedy while she's away at college she is forced to change her plans for her future. Now don't misunderstand not all changes are bad in this case it shaped who she is. A loving women who would do anything for those whom she cares for. She learns that what others my think is a burden to her it's just natural to do for the family you love.

Then we have jake. Jake is a detective but most importantly he's a loving son and friend. Jake learns early on that relationships just don't work when they see his baggage. He is total alpha male and protects those he loves at all cost.

We also have a few other key people in the story. Laurie whom is Emma's niece who she raised. Rob firefighter/Laurie's boyfriend. Tom is jakes partner and carol toms wife.

This story shows how one small person can change the lives of many. When things get bad in their town drugs and students grades and behavior changing Emma tries to help as best as she can but finds her self in trouble. This group of friends stick together in the time of need they are each other's family and for some the only family they have.

Emma and jake my not have been looking for love but that is what they found in each other.

This story makes u smile laugh and hurt with the characters you are pulled into the story and crave to see what happens next. It's truly a must read.

It must be nice to live in la-la land that's full of rainbows and unicorns. Where the men are all gorgeous with sexy, ripped bods, and where the women are all perfect, so beautiful they capture the attention of every man wherever they go, yet so humble they are blissfully ignorant of their beauty and the attraction they garner. They all love each other with lots of hugs and kisses thrown around as they all celebrate the holidays, dinners, drinks, parties and barbeques with each other. Give me a break! If that wasn't bad enough, we have Jake and Emma, two people I just did not like. If Jake is to be portrayed as an "alpha-male," I'd have to disagree and say that he comes off more as a controlling douche bag. After having just met each other, Jake demands that she not go swimming at the hotel pool at night. Of course she goes and there's Jake watching her swim holding her towel to wrap her in when she gets out, who then proceeds to scoop her up in his arms, slap her ass and take her to her room where he demands she stop swimming at night. Without even agreeing to go on a date, Jake proceeds to "stake his claim" publicly, as though she's a piece of meat. Heaven forbid she talks to a man. What a controlling, jealous, possessive asshole he is. I guess Emma likes to be treated like a piece of meat as she thinks Jake's controlling nature is so endearing. Sorry ladies, but she's an idiot. She's supposedly very smart and educated with a lot self-confidence, who likes who she is. However, one look at Jake and she becomes TSTL and stays that way. As for the story and little suspense thrown in, all pretty boring and predictable.

Loved This story- it was a great Summer holiday read & although I hadn't read the others in the series, this read really well as a standalone.

Emma moves to Fairfield to be closer to her niece, Laurie, who is only 6 years younger than her. Emma stepped in at the age of eighteen to be Laurie' s guardian following a car crash that killed their family.

Emma meets the gorgeous, quiet, loyal detective Jake. He is such a lovely hero and these two fall hard for each other. Emma is used to being fiercely independent and Jake is used to being very much the alpha protector so you can expect some clashes of opinion. The sexual chemistry between these two is HOT. Damn, that man has a way with words.

There is a good plot running through the book but I did guess the villain early on. Having said that , it was still exciting and well paced. Great secondary characters and low angst. This book had a really strong Kristen Ashley vibe to it. Dirty talking alpha male who is protective to the extreme but totally loveable meets sweet heroine who is hugely likeable and has her head on straight.

Written in third person from both points of view. Great descriptive writing and lots of dialogue rather than heaps of inner monologue which I have seen in other books written in the third person.

Lovely ending. This is a really good book

This was one amazing book! Maryann Jordan's debut novel is full of everything. Strong Alpha males. Stronger women. Great relationships. Love. Mystery. And sexiness. What else could you ask for?

Emma Dodd's eighteen year old life changes when her mother and sister die in a car accident, leaving her to care for her sister's young daughter, Laurie.

Years later, Emma moves to Fairfield, where Laurie now resides. In comes Jake Campbell. Police Detective and hawt goodness defined! The moment they meet changes everything for them. They've both been strong for others and have no idea how to do otherwise. They now must learn to trust and lean on other, instead of worrying about others.

I don't want to give away more, because you need to experience this book for yourself!!! Seriously amazing! The thing I loved most about the characters is the fact that they are neither wishy-washy, nor are they full of drama. That, in itself is worth the read!! I fell in love with Jordan's characters and felt like I've known them forever.

I highly recommend this book to everyone!!!

And Jake Campbell.....I think he's my new book boyfriend! Great job, Maryann Jordan! Now, give me Laurie's story!

I started this book with no expectations. I had no idea what it was about. Just what I could gather from the title, Emma's Home. I knew it was a romance. HOLY MOLY! Can I have Jake?! Let me not get ahead of myself. Let's see if I can share a tiny bit about the story without spoilers. Emma has had a rough set of cards dealt to her at a very young age. She accepts responsibility and matures very fast. Now at the age of 31 she is able to breathe and relax a bit. Moving to a new town to be close to her family and starting a new job the last think she is expecting is Jake. He could not be a better match for her? Is she willing to let her guard down enough to let him in?

Ok, first off, JAKE! Think of all the Ryan Gosling jokes of him saying "Hey Girl." SWOON! I tried to find a video of that for this post but no such luck. He is such a stand up, respectable guy. There is no way you won't love him!

Not only is this a romance but there are some story lines you wont see coming. They keep you guessing and the pages turning!

Small Town Romance Done Right It's hard to believe that this is Maryann Jordan's debut novel. I loved the small town romance between Emma and Jake.  Emma has been raising her niece since she was 12 and Emma was 18.  Emma doesn't regret anything she's done to keep the only family she has together.  Now that Laurie is 25 and she is 31, Emma finally finds time to devote herself to having a relationship.  This is where Jake comes in.  He is all Alpha and for once in her life, Emma has someone to take care of her.  Watching the romance bloom between the two, you can't help but feel the heat that radiates off them.  They are not only sweet, but hot and sexy.  Emma and Jake have become one of my favorite book couples of 2014.  I can't wait for Ms. Jordan's next book in her Fairfield Series.

Maryann Jordan's debut novel tells the story of Emma and Jake, their families and group of friends in the fictional town of Fairfield. The author lets us know that there will others in the series, but each will be a standalone novel with its own HEA.
Emma and Jake, both independent, used to taking care of everyone in their lives discover what it is to fall in love and have someone else want to take care of you. Emma is a strong female character; Jake is an alpha male with a heart. Throw in some fun with their friends and a little mystery and you have a great debut novel.

This one has it all!

Romance, passion, family, love, and intrigue. Emma moves to Fairfield to be close to her niece, and finds not only a new home but a new love. She's determined to live her own life though, much to the chagrin of Jake, who wants to do nothing more than protect her. For Emma has stumbled onto a mystery...a mystery that will keep you guessing until the end! Great debut novel by Maryann Jordan. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Probably a 3.5. I do not understand why this book was placed first when it is really last in the timeline of the series. I wish I had read it last. It was by far the best of the series though. Jake was a sweet hero. Protective, alpha, a good man and not a whore. I enjoyed that Emma was a happy person, sweet to him. It was a nice story. It was a bit too much telling vs. showing but it was still enjoyable. A safe read that I recommend.

It was okay. I stopped about midway through because I got bored. Finally picked it back up. The last half was a little better. I had the bad guys figured out pretty quickly. I liked Jake a lot. Emma had a few TSTL moments but otherwise was a saint...always helping others out and raised her niece...a little too perfect. Loved the epilogue and the sex scenes were hot.

I had the privilege of being a beta reader for Maryann Jordan's debut novel called Emma's Home. This book was truly great, especially for a debut novel. Mrs. Jordan has an amazing gift. Her writing sucks you in and I could NOT stop reading this book. She had me hooked from the beginning, which is an important thing for me. I need to be almost immediately drawn in.

Emma is a strong, beautiful woman. Jake is this strong, beautiful man. They are two different people with two different types of strength. In this book they both evolve so much and they each need the other one to do that. They feed off of each other and it's lovely. When they are together it is like fireworks all the time. They are absolutely PERFECT.

I also love all the surrounding characters in Jake and Emma's lives. They are so supportive and funny. They bring so much life into the book as well.

I have to say that I was surprised by the plot twist. I was not expecting anything like that to come into play in this book. However, I LOVED it. It broke this book away from all the other typical romances that are out there.

Be prepared to read a book that has love, romance, sex and shock value. This book truly has it all and you won't be disappointed.

This was a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was an awesome debut novel by Maryann Jordan. The story centers around Emma and after a tragic accident she raises her niece Laurie. She dropped everything at the age of 18 to look after Laurie who was 12 at the time, Emma did what she needed to and became a strong independent woman.

Laurie graduates college and moves to the town of Fairfield, and she asks Emma to move there to be closer as there they all they have. She more than gladly moves and things heat up.

Laurie hold's a get together and wants to set up her friend Jake who is a detective for Fairfield with her Aunt Emma, who Jake thinks is going to an old lady. From here things heat up and boy does it get hot.

This book has everything heartbreak, sadness, happiness, love, mystery, twists and turns, comedy. I absoutley loved this book as above it has everything in this story and Maryann keeps it flowing it doesn't stall its a beautifully written book.

Sweet Love Story!!!

I really loved this book. It was a feel good book. I loved all the characters in the book and am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. Jake is a hot Alpha male that wants to protect Emma who is used to doing everything on her own. Neither one of them have had a serious relationship before each other. I loved watching their relationship grow and get their HEA. There is some mystery in this story also trying to figure out what is going in town with who is involved with drugs being distributed to the teens at Emma's school. This is a must read, don't miss out on this book, you will be happy you did and will be recommending it to your friends like I am. Great job Ms. Jordan, looking forward to the next one in The Fairfield Series.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised with the intensity of Jake, our Alpha. He's a detective who meets Emma through mutual friends. Emma, the new high school counselor, unknowingly digs into trouble, which causes her lots of trouble.
Luckily, Jake, the OTT cop, is there to claim ownership, have dirty awesome sex and fall in love with Emma. Now, this doesn't keep her safe, but, it was awesome to read! LOL
I totally recommend this book to anyone that loves a great growing relationship between an OTT alpha and a woman who knows when to not (OK let's face it, she doesn't, but it makes it more fun) poke the bear.
Totally hot, fun and quick read!
