Will an awkward first impression... The last thing Chloe Russell expects from life is a successful match. After all, when a girl has been dubbed "Miss Bumblebroth" after a disastrously clumsy debut season, landing a handsome, titled husband is an unprecedented stroke of luck. But marriage to Lord Michael Lyndon--a true Corinthian if ever there was one--may prove more vexing than a spinster's fate. For while Michael is determined to rescue her from her regular faux pas, Chloe wonders who will rescue her vulnerable heart from her husband's charm.
...Lead to lasting love? Michael still can't understand why his father presented awkward Chloe as a possible bride, yet with no illusions of romance, he believes one woman will serve as well as another when it comes to matrimony. Unfortunately, Chloe doesn't do anything well, a situation Michael vows to correct. But Chloe's lively spirit needs no encouragement, and soon Michael wonders if his wife is saving him instead--from a lifetime without the surprising joy of her love.

Started out well with clumsy Chloe and Lord Lyndon making a good business marriage, but when Chloe begins driving with her cousin whom she obviously distrusts, I began to turn off. It made no sense for her to place herself in Edwin's hands.
Chloe and Lyndon come together as a caring couple far too soon, and all tension fizzled.
I did mind the author drawing the curtain over the intimate scenes, in fact I prefer it as it seems more in keeping with the period. But I lost interest halfway through.
The characters and premise started well enough, and I liked the use of the marriage in the business sense.

This book captured my attention but by the end I found myself skimming to see how it ended. The main characters seem to have the same conversations over and over with no character development. Definitely a fluff book to be read when you want a quick read.
Lord Michael Lyndon finds his father has a standing arrangement with an old friend to marry him to his daughter, who happens to have a sizable competence that will help them financially. Their estates are on the brink. Chloe Russell is also informed. Her brother wants Lyndon's title in the family and to marry off Chloe, who has not ventured into Society since a disastrous season where she was deemed Miss Bumblebroth because of several clumsy accidents. Neither is happy but willing to meet. They hit it off well because both believe in speaking their minds. This was the most refreshing part of the story for me. Even though each had damaged pasts they were willing to put in the effort to make a workable marriage. There are several subplots involving Chloe's fear of horses and her investing genius. Well done.
