A steamy, full-length, standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA from Bestselling author J.H. Croix! If you like smoking hot romance with alpha men and strong women, you’ll love this series!
Sawyer Hamilton is all kinds of sexy packaged in a mouth-watering body honed from years as a Navy SEAL. He lands in Diamond Creek on the heels of a brush with death while on a mission. Anything resembling romance is dead last in his list of priorities. He might be swoon-worthy to the women fantasizing about him, but he’s got other things on his mind.
Violet Carter is very good at many things, including her job. She’s a world-class phlebotomist, if there is such a thing. In fact, she’s so good at it Sawyer can’t stop thinking about her after he meets her in her office. He forgets his worries so thoroughly, he can’t help but kiss her.
A kiss so hot it could melt glaciers leaves Violet and Sawyer reeling.
Sawyer is grappling with what comes next, yet the weight he’s been carrying becomes light as a feather whenever Violet is around. There’s that and the fact he can’t keep his hands off of her.
Violet is independent and likes it that way. She spread her wings and flew to Alaska to follow her dreams of seeing the world after reality gave her a hard slap. She didn’t expect to question everything about her choices once she met Sawyer.
They each have their reasons not to get involved, yet the flames between them burn too hot and fast for them to resist.
*All novels in this series are full-length standalone novels with an HEA.

DNF I had to stop when her channel clinched when he set next to her. Too many channels, seriously how is that sexy? Notes I made while reading the first half: What is this? High school, gossip central? (Ginger knows too much about everyone, this gossipy stuff is ugh.) Her channel??? First date blow jobs? How many times are we gonna hear about New York? We know he's a Navy Seal, we dont have to be told how dangerous he looks because of the military, every single time he's described.
Overall, Would not recommend.
How I rate a story. (In order of importance)
Does it keep my attention? no, I was forcing myself
Is it plausible / logical? No, Reminded me of a porn, lots of sex, not a true story line
Grammatical errors or odd, repetitive language? Some Inconsistency made me have to re-read a paragraph. Lots of repetitive words: channel, military, New York
Do I like the characters? No. They were both immature
All in all - An ugh read - 1 star 🌟
There are very few stories that I'll give a 1 star. If I finished reading it then it had to be "ok".
Did a word count on Kindle for "channel". Seemed like more than 17 times. It throbbed, clenched, convulsed, was drenched, slick, and tight. Good grief. Find a different word.
Crazy For You by J.H. Croix is another romantic and well written addition to her A Last Frontier Lodge novel series. In this book we are introduced to Sawyer Hamilton, Navy Seal, out on medical leave for a surgery to remove some remaining shrapnel from an IED that damaged his leg severely. He’s just looking to get better so that he can see about returning to active duty but he knows that the chances of that are slim because he will never be able to be at peak performance like he was before the incident. What he doesn’t expect is to fall hard for Violet Carter, a phlebotomist, at the hospital in Diamond Creek, Alaska. The chemistry between them in intense and that is something that neither one of them can deny but Violet has some baggage that she has been carrying around for years now and she’s just not ready to let go. Violet had childhood leukemia and it has left her infertile. She never really thought about the consequences of this until her former fiancé, Ted, dumped her because of it because not being able to have kids was a deal breaker for him. It crushed Violet and she decided that she would forego romance in her life and focus instead on her work. But all that shifts when she meets Sawyer and finds herself quickly falling for him. But will she allow herself to fall for this man or will she push him away due to her past? Crazy for You is a well written romance novel about two people who meet and change each other’s lives. Sawyer is in a transition phase in his life. He’s a Navy Seal but with the damage to his leg he knows that his military career is basically over unless he chooses to become an admin and that honestly isn’t something that he’s keen on but he’s still intent on toying with the idea of “wait and see” to see how his recovery will go after the surgery. Violet tells herself that she is content in her job and that she’s perfectly happy not having any kids or romance in her life but when Sawyer walks/limps into her life she finds those ideas being thrown out the window but still barely being able to keep a hold of them by a thread that is unraveling fast. She tries to keep things simple with Sawyer but the chemistry is so hard to deny and even those around them can see the sparks when they are together. There are a few spelling errors that I noticed here and there but they were nothing so major that it detracted from the story or so egregious that you feel the need to just really go nuts. They simply catch your eye and then you move on because the story has drawn you in and the errors simply disrupt the flow for a brief moment. Other than that the only thing that I generally didn’t like was how long it took Violet to come out and tell Sawyer about her inability to have children and I didn’t like how she honestly didn’t give him a chance to talk to her when she dumps it on him. She should have told him sooner and voiced her fears instead of constantly shutting him out. At the end of the day I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. It’s not as fast paced as other books in this series but it is still a very enjoyable read and I loved the romance, how family oriented the characters are and how accepting they are towards those around them. They are solid characters and they all complement each other really well. Despite the two spelling errors I found I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed it. There is more that I enjoy in this story than I dislike. The book is well written, the characters are really well written and come together seamlessly. This is definitely a book that I recommend to those who love a good romance. Two thumbs up.
It’s finally Sawyer’s turn! If you have read any of the other books in J.H. Croix’s Last Frontier series you know that Sawyer is the youngest brother of the group. He followed his eldest brother, Gage, through the Navy and into the SEALs. He recently suffered an injury to his leg from an IED and is recuperating with his family at the lodge.
We didn’t get to hear much about Sawyer in the previous books. He was the elusive brother who was always on a secret mission. He made small appearances during the holidays and weddings of his other siblings, but he always had this air of mystery to him so us fans have been eagerly awaiting his story. And J.H. Croix did not disappoint! Sawyer and Violet meet at the hospital when he comes to get his blood drawn before surgery. There is an instant attraction that singes the pages. They go on a couple of dates but spend a lot of time with their mutual friends having group dinners where they can barely keep up with the conversations around them because they are about to burn up from the heat they generate just being in the same room together. However, Violet has had a lot of loss in her life and had decided that love just wasn’t in the cards for her. Can she open her heart and work through her issues? Will Sawyer stay in Diamond Creek or go back to the military?
Steamy love scenes. Real life issues. Another home run from one of my favorite authors.
I’ve finished this whole series and every book is amazing. I’ve fallen in love with Diamond Creek and Alaska with it, not to mention the characters whom I’ve grown quite attached to! All the books contain a lovely, heart-warming and VERY hot romance. Although each book is a standalone, I recommend reading them in the proper order as we get glimpses and clues of the next couple in the current book, and get to see the evolution of the preceding couples in each new book we’re reading.
I really liked Violet as soon as we were introduced to her in When We Fall, when Lacey was going for her blood tests. I was so happy to find out J.H. Croix had paired her with Sawyer, the youngest Hamilton brother! Violet had childhood Leukemia that left her with permanent after-effects. Meanwhile, Sawyer comes back home from military service with the SEALs with less than 100% of his prior capabilities and goes to the Lodge for some TLC and company. Ivy and Sawyer are ridiculously drawn to each other, yet unresolved issues hamper their relationship from totally taking off. In the end, Sawyer steps up to the plate and reveals himself to be the man Violet deserves. It was so bittersweet to finish this book knowing it was the last! Thank goodness for the Diamond Creek series!!!
I love this whole series. I felt so sorry for Violet after her fiancé dumps her because she finds out that the treatment for her childhood leukemia has made her sterile. She has since moved as far away as she possibly can from New York and has decided not ever to get involved with anyone again because she can't risk the heart break when they find out she can't have kids. Then she meets Sawyer and it throws her emotions upside down. Sawyer is here with family recovering from surgery after being injured in Iraq and now has to decide if he wants to become a desk jockey or medically retire from the Navy as he will not be able to return to active duty with the SEALs after his injury. He has never had this kind of reaction to a woman before in his life and is really confused as to what he is really feeling. They both realize they are falling for each other but unsure of how to proceed because of past or lack of past relationships. Violet finally tells Sawyer that she can't have kids and that she can't see him anymore. What will Sawyer do to make her understand that just because she can't get pregnant doesn't mean she can't have kids? Will Violet believe him when he tells her that and that he wants more than just sex from her?
Sawyer is in Diamond Creek at his brothers lodge, awaiting a second surgery to remove pieces of shrapnel left behind in an IED attack in the Middle East. He’s in need of some pre-surgery blood work, and lands right in Violet’s office. When Violet’s fiancé found out the chemo during her bout with childhood Leukemia left her unable to have children, he left her. Spurring her to move across country from New York. She has found a great job and is finally making some friends, when Sawyer walks through her door! Sparks fly immediately, sending both of them into so much more than either of them had planned for. Violet is afraid to move forward, what will happen when Sawyer eventually wants kids? He’ll end up leaving just like her ex did! Sawyer is looking at the end of his career in the Navy SEALs and wants to go out on his own terms and not a medical discharge. Now he must convince Violet that he’s here to stay, but can he break through the barriers she so easily puts up? This book was awesome, sexy, steamy and sweet all wrapped in a great story! Check it out today!
Man, I don't know how she does it every time, but Ms. Croix has outdone herself yet again. Violet and Sawyer's story is at least as beautiful as the previous books in this series, if not better.
Violet has had a troubled past, to put it mildly. She is a leukemia survivor and is trying to find her footing in her new adopted hometown of Diamond Creek after a failed relationship. Sawyer, on the other hand, has experienced more than enough as a Navy SEAL and is recovering from an injury that almost took his life. Both are shocked by the more than fierce attraction between them when they first meet, which quickly leads to a tangle of emotions unlike any other ...
This book, too, is an absolute page-turner with lots of emotional ups and downs and is simply unputdownable. I love Ms. Croix's characters and small-town setting more than I can put into words, and she is one of my favorite authors for a reason.
Gah! What a fun read. Crazy For You was the eighth book in J.H. Croix’s Last Frontier Lodge Series. It was sweet, sexy, and swoony!
Sawyer was in Alaska after being injured on a mission. He was at a point where he had to decide what he would do after his final surgery. Finding love was the furthest thing on his mind but sometimes life opens doors in random places!
Violet came to Alaska to spread her wings. What she wasn’t expecting was to find Sawyer. After meeting him just once, she couldn’t stop thinking about him. Would they be on the same page when it came to the future?
Aww, Violet! I liked that she got her own book. And Sawyer...talk about sexy!! This was such a fun and cute story!! I really can’t believe this series only has one book left! It feels like I just started it!!
Each book in the Last Frontier Lodge series tells of a couple who must overcome numerous obstacles before they can be in a lasting relationship. In the eighth book, the emotional pull practically overwhelms Sawyer Hamilton and Violet Carter from their first meeting, yet deep-rooted doubts keep anything permanent from forming. As their touching journey changes with each passing day, I became completely engrossed in how this couple would react to each set of circumstances that arose. CRAZY FOR YOU is a heartfelt romance with genuine emotions and delightfully appealing characters. J.H. Croix drew me into every compelling moment.
Being a very capable Navy SEAL has kept Sawyer Hamilton alive while carrying out his many secret assignments, but one mission did leave him injured and additional surgery will hopefully result in less pain. Since some assistance might be needed afterward, he has come back home to Diamond Creek, Alaska because several family members live in the area. While doing some preliminary tests at the local hospital, he meets Violet Carter, a lively woman who works in a lab. There is an instantaneous connection between Sawyer and Violet, and they share a kiss that is hard to forget before he leaves the hospital.
After saying goodbye to New York City and coming to work in Alaska, Violet now feels as though she actually belongs somewhere. When she meets Sawyer again by chance, she is surprised when the charming man says he would like to go on a date with her. Although she certainly cannot deny there is a strong attraction, she does not plan on ever letting things get serious with a man again after what happened in her past. But desire runs high and being together is oh so tempting.
The way in which J.H. Croix makes each of her books in the Last Frontier Lodge series a standalone is simply amazing. Regardless of the book being read, plenty of background information lets me know something about the featured characters and past plots in order to not feel lost. There are so many wonderful relatives plus their friends who live in Diamond Creek, and I always enjoy hearing about their current lives. Ms. Croix makes the scenic locale come alive with colorful details, while daily activities make the characters seem more convincing.
A book where two people are totally stunned by their responses to each other and then try to fight the fascination is a favorite, and J.H. Croix knows how to make this storyline absolutely riveting. Whether Sawyer and Violet are trying to make some tough decisions or giving in to the highly explosive desire they feel, each scene is entertaining with believability. I was so thrilled for this couple when they followed their hearts, and I also felt their misery when choices led to conflict and hurt. Sawyer was self-assured about his ability to be a soldier, but Violet confuses him and takes away his control. He is such a likable hero, and I really enjoyed watching him go through so many different emotions. Violet had thought being on her own would make her happy, and I fretted she might not be willing to give up her independence. CRAZY FOR YOU is about discovering what will bring lasting joy.
I voluntarily reviewed the book and all comments are my honest opinion
So much fun, the Hamilton family is back together again!
A beautiful love story set in Diamond Creek, Alaska! Crazy For You is the last book in the delightful series. Last Frontier Lodge is the location for these stories and the whole family is here to reconnect with the reader! Sawyer returns to his roots after being seriously injured on a Seal Team Mission. There he meets Violet a newcomer to town (a year and a half is new to some locals)! They fall in love, endured the thin and annoying angst and with the help of the family they figure it out! A time honored formula! The characters are a great book family and the readers slides into a comfort zone that feels like home! While not the best in the series, J.H. Croix has written a solid story and an easy read.
Soooooooo here I finished yet another great book. Sawyer and Violets story was filled with some heartache. The only thing that bothers me more than heartache is cowardliness. As strong as Violet is on the outside, she let her past depict her future.... I get that she didn’t realize that but wake up. No asshole should ever make you feel less because of the struggles you went through as a child! I’m glad she found Saywer or that they found eachother....and that they came to their senses. Great read.
This was a cute book, I haven't read the other books in the series but it did well as a stand alone.
There was a little too much of the back and forth/make up break up vibe for my taste. Sawyer and Violet meet when Sawyer goes in to have blood work and Violet is the one to do it. They have instant chemistry and Sawyer asks her out. They have great chemistry and their conversations were flirty and cute. Overall I liked them and the other characters were interesting enough to want to read the rest of the series.
Every trip to Diamond Creek and the Last Frontier Lodge is a treat. Sawyer and Violet's story is no exception. Sawyer, the last single Hamilton, has returned to The Last Frontier to heal after a potentially career-ending injury in the military. While coping with his possible return to civilian life, he meets Violet. Lots of heat and sizzling chemistry! it was great to see Violet and Sawyer overcome everything together. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Sawyer was the last of the siblings to finally find his was up to Alaska. He and an IED got a little to close to each other and he has to have surgery. But when he gets to Alaska he has a slight limp and a couple of pieces of shrapnel that need to come out. Violet moved from NY city after her ex fiancee broke up with her because she couldn't have children. Sawyer & Violet meet when he gets his blood drawn and something clicks.
I enjoyed this book, but I hope Ms Croix finds a better proofreader and editor.
Fiancé is a man who is engaged. Fiancée is a woman who is engaged.
When Ms Croix writes that Violet had a fiancée it indicates she’s in a same sex relationship. That was not the case. Her fiancé was a man, Sawyer.
I was confused when both Marley’s mother and her daughter were said to be named Holly. I don’t know that was intended or mixing characters or a poorly worded sentence.
Great story a nice read short story of a wounded Deal and a wounded doctor, child's fight for life with Leukaemia a living Mom and Dad wanting and coddling their little girl trying to protect her from all hurts, when true love turns up @ a hospital lab, sparks fly, ball bounce, bars crack, family steps in, fun times ,sex tears, good and Alaska has much to offer. Good read.
The chemistry between Sawyer and Violet was so hot it was out of control. This book was fast paced from start to finish and didn’t disappoint as the last book in the Last Frontier Lodge series. Croix had a winning formula with her stories. They just get better and better!
I have now read all these books and have thoroughly enjoyed them, want more!!! I found the story lines, the laughter and sharing the heartache of the characters very touching. Could at times put myself in their shoes. Thank you for writing and sharing the stories and please keep them coming. Will now read some of your other books.
Sawyer is on medical leave from the Navy, is staying with his siblings in Alaska. While having his blood drawn for surgery, he meets Violet, the phlebotomist. There is instant heat and chemistry. Wow, lots of heat and chemistry. But she has some issues from a childhood illness that cause relationship problems. Loved the characters, all the family, the setting and the romance!
I enjoyed Crazy for You (Last Frontier Lodge). However I found inconsistencies in an area or two which had me thinking I missed something. Like when Sawyer was thinking about Violet's infertility. She hadn't mentioned it to him at the time.
All-in-all J.H. Crox is one of my go to authors. I always enjoy reading her books.
Sawyer and Violet have hot and scorching chemistry and they have trouble keeping their hands off each other. But Violet has some baggage from a previous broken engagement and Sawyer has to make a decision on his future in the SEAL's. As always it is a pleasure to visit Diamond Creek and check in with the characters in this series.
Sawyer was injured in an IED explosion. Violet is a leukemia survivor who can't have children. Can 2 people with trying pasts come together? J H Croix spins another Diamond Creek romance!!!
Good read. Sawyer came back to Alaska where he was born and family reestablished his grandparents ski lodge. Needed some blood work for shrapnel removal after IED in Irag. Lots family dynamics and HEA.
I really like this Author. I have read several of her books, and have yet to find one I didn't like. This one just showed me that she really does a great job time after time.
