Deborah Wilde is a global wanderer and hopeless romantic. After twelve years as a screenwriter, she was also a total cynic with a broken edit button, so, she jumped ship, started writing funny, sexy, urban fantasy and paranormal women’s fiction books, and never looked back.

She loves writing smart, flawed, wisecracking women who can solve a mystery, kick supernatural butt, banter with hot men, and still make time for their best female friend, because those were the women she grew up around and admired. Granted, her grandmother never had to kill a demon at her weekly friend lunches, but Deborah is pretty sure she could have.

she/her

Smart (ass) heroines. Epic magic. Red-hot romance.

Aviva is still searching for the vampire who has been killing half-shedim. Trying to keep them from finding the power word is her biggest priority, aside from figuring out who it is. They have figured out where to find the power word, but learned it requires a test, which none of them is willing to take after learning what happens to those who fail. And if that was not enough, there is an attempt made on the life a political candidate that looks to be related to their demon case (which is still unsolved). So now she must find the AshBishop vampire and solve the case surrounding the lockets and matchmakers.
This series just gets better and better the further into you get. Aviva is growing so much as a person. She is finally starting to see things she didn't before as well. The more people she lets in, the more she lets go of her old way of thinking. It's a bit of a struggle with her relationship with Ezra and not wanting to be outed in this book, but I love that she is communicating instead of running. She's become s stronger person by allowing others to help her, even when she wants to protect them. Michael is also starting to grow on me! I didn't care for her before due to the way she treated Avi, but she has really changed in these last 2 books as well.
I adore all the side characters as well. Sachie is absolutely hilarious and you barely have to wait at all to see exactly how funny! Darsh is funny in his way and Silas is a perfect compliment for him. And Ezra is still wonderful! He puts up with Avi's BS and helps her out when she is in danger.
There is no shortage of action and surprises in this book either! Aviva is constantly on the move and trying to put out fires (both literal and figurative). There were some definite shocking revelations in this book as well. We learn more about Darsh, some od Avi's past, Sila's past and then the huge shock at the end! WOW! I did not see that coming! I am excited for the next book to see what will happen with the rest of the story!

terrific storytelling with a cliffhanger in the penultimate book

Rating: 4.5✨⭐️

In the series penultimate story, author Deborah Wilde really kicks things up into the anticipated narrative high gear as the characters and storylines head towards the end.

Yes, this finishes on an agonizing climax and cliffhanger. Just a FYI.

Wilde does excellent work in continuing to make the Jewish faith, culture and religion, as well as history a major factor and foundation for the world building and characters. It’s seamless storytelling while still being able to create a compelling paranormal universe that has vampires and demons, half demons and other otherworldly beings as a part of the plot and as citizens.

This is a rich tapestry of beings that inhabit a complex layered universe of political magical powers, scheming, racial dynamics, and horrors. To go along with the typical vices of greed, overwhelming need for power and revenge.

Agent Aviva, her Maccabee director mother, Michael, hopefully bf Vampire Crimson Prince Ezra, and team are fighting multiple battles and investigating each crimes. Her demon father and his vampire mob boss father are both threatening each of them in various ways.

And a new , more complicated villain has appeared.

Aviva has yet to totally accept her demon self, still referring to herself as Cherry Bomb, a separate entity rather than herself. Hiding her true nature is getting to be a bigger part of her story and the overall theme here. It’s so important and well done.

Each character has depth and damage in their background. Issues they are very much still working through as events unfold. It’s challenging and a realistic growth in a paranormal world.

Highly recommended, the author too!

Aviva has spent her entire life working towards becoming a level three Maccabee and hiding her true nature from her friends and co-workers.

It's amazing how as you get older, your dreams change.

As Aviva realizes her dreams of being a level three Maccabee, she has had to face some hard truths about her organization and her life, including her break up with the Crimson Prince, aka Zee. Digging deeper into the mysteries that she has already uncovered, Aviva goes undercover, only to find out more about herself and her magic.

I adore Ms. Wilde's style, her characters are snarky, smart and tough as nails. While they are unapologetically competant, they are also filled with deep-seated fears and doubts. I have enjoyed watching Aviva's journey towards love and acceptance. The interactions between Aviva and her Mom/Boss Michael are stunningly beautiful.

I could NOT put this book down and was hooked until the final sentence. I can't wait for the next installment!

I recieved and advanced reader copy and am leaving this review voluntarily.

It's taken me months to finish this book.
Not because of the book, but still. That hasn't happened before so I might miss a few things I want to say.

I love Deb's writing, her wit, her storytelling is beyond.... everything. She sucks you in to the point you feel like a spectator in her story. It's a little freaky, to be honest.
This installment has sooooo much happening, it got me confused at times. If I had the patience, I'd have made a chart to keep track of everything going on. LOL
Aviva and Ezra's relationship is back on track. By which I mean, they've decided but nothing goes right, since everyone is trying to kill them. Not to mention Ezra's father will do everything in his power to keep them apart, to the point where he doesn't even realize one of his cronies is working against him.
There are prison locks involved, and Shedim and vamps all over the place. Then, for whatever it's worth, Avi finds herself in an impossible situation, where she has to choose between the love of her life and the lives of everyone else.

Another great addition to the Bedeviled series. As Aviva continues to hunt for answers regarding the missing infernal blood rituals, she is luckily put back on the matchmaker case. However, she begins to realize this case may be the end of disguises. While undercover to find more matchmakers and locks Aviva stumbles across another prison lock. Unfortunately, all does not go as hoped and her new level three dream position may be in jeopardy. When each case takes a turn for the worse, shady deals must be made if she wants to save lives and protect those she loves. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this book with its humorous, witty quips, steamy delights and unexpected twists that kept me thoroughly entertained. I look forward to the next installation.

4.5 stars 🌟 - action packed and full of excitement

This is the fourth book in the series and the story and character development means you are in for a treat. There is SO much going on and so many threads woven into this plot. It is full of mystery, intrigue and action.

At the same time the characters and relationships have also stepped up a level and the new depth makes this a gripping read. Many mysteries are uncovered and still more to be revealed. Definitely leaves you wanting more.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Book four and we are back with Aviva whose now a level 3 and back on the matchmaker case. It’s action packed from the get go as our kick ass, sassy and witty fmc does what she does best. Fast paced, exciting and brimming with drama and danger, we jump back on this rollercoaster ride and dive right on in. There’s tons going on as we are shown revelations from previous reads and the author throws more twists and turns in our path. Our characters have been through so much and grown so much in the incredible urban fantasy series and I am loving every minute of it.

A lot happens in this read, a lot. It is an immensely satisfying read because of the resolutions to a few threads from the rest of the series. My favourite parts involved learning more of the backgrounds of some of the folks who make up Aviva's people, learning more about some other folks and who the 'baddie' turned out to be. I can't recall anything in the previous books in the series that lay the groundwork for this :D

*I'm a lucky fish and on the author's ARC team*

Nonstop 5⭐️ story telling

Aviva is Maccabe and Aviva is also Cherry Bomb. when seeking the truth and fighting for justice and also needing acceptance for who she truly is start to collide does the world start to implode for Aviva or become stronger.
Even her friends have their own inner demons but not in the same way.
Great writing of Aviva and her struggles can’t wait for the next instalment

More Avi & Ezra
I strongly suggest reading books 1 thru 3 first, it is a series and you will love this so much more if you do. Getting more of Avi ad Ezra in this fourth book is Fantastic. This fast paced story brings so much more of this world with all the wild goings on and kept me glued to the pages, dreading having to put it down. Always looking forward to what is next, as it held me captive and I Loved Every Page!!!! No Spoilers!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This would have been five stars if it weren’t for the cliffhanger. Life is too short and unpredictable for me to have patience for an author who can’t leave their characters in a safe place at the end of a story arc. Good book, but the author’s lack of confidence in her readers liking the series enough to continue reading without a gimmick leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Yay, another perfect installment in the series. So many things tied together, and yet just enough left open for me to anticipate the final installment (for plot reasons, not just for love of Wilde's writing). I love how these characters are turning out, and I love all the little threads that seemingly don't matter... until they do.

good

I didn’t like this book quite as much as the others, but it was still a good book. I felt bad for Aviva because she found out things about people she was beginning to trust in this book that were not very nice. She also seemed to come out to a lot more people about her demon half. I will definitely read the next book in the series.

5* I loved this fast-paced, action-packed, entertaining PNR/UF with drama, danger, mystery, steam, and amazing characters. The MCs are developed, engaging and likable, not to mention perfect for one another. This is an enjoyable book . I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Terrific book! Aviva's level 3 awarded to her, she now is engrossed in finding the half shedim's killer as well as cases that involve the trad world. Excellent secondary characters, imaginative world building.

Deborah is fantastic by keeping us on pins and needles. I love the way she ties some of the Jewish lore in her works.

Avi is coming into her own by finally owning up to who she really is. All the ones she was worried about is some of her biggest supporters.

There is so much going on in this book. It’s an action packed adventure with little time to rest let alone nurture a new relationship but Aviva and Ezra do their best. Secrets are shared and revealed with many twists along the way.

Great read

Another great installment in this series. Never a dull moment in this book. I certainly did not see that twist with the informant but it tied in really well.

Woah, woah, woah! Hold on to your hats with this one. Aviva is back as a level 3 and she’s on the hunt for the matchmakers. This is another fun, quick witted and fast paced installment. Plenty of action kept me turning the pages along with all the shockers. And don’t get me started on the ending. Ms. Wilde better be writing her a$$ off right now. I need more!
