Are vampires real? Uncovering the truth would be the story of a lifetime. But it may just cost this journalist her life.
Ashley Ryan has reached celebrity status with her hit documentary series, Tea With Monsters, but she’s craving a new challenge. A chance encounter with a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to a long-dead movie star – a woman with fangs – has her questioning everything. Could vampires truly exist? It could be the story of a lifetime. Following the woman home, however, may prove the biggest mistake of her life. Panther shifter, Adrian Lazar, is the guardian of a house full of supernaturals. A Lazar Panther has contained the secrets of Greenlawn Hall for over two hundred years and he refuses to see them exposed on his watch. It doesn’t matter that Ashley Ryan intrigues him with her quick wit and determination. There is too much at stake for him to be distracted by attraction. Because there are far more insidious creatures watching, and they’ll stop at nothing to keep their existence from being revealed.
I like trying out new-to-me authors on Kindle Unlimited and the blurb of this book sounded interesting. Sadly, something about the story telling style didn’t capture my interest. As I read I kept wishing for more. More snark. More alpha behavior from the H. More push and pull between the MC’s. *Shrugs* Others seem to like this book so maybe it’s me. I’m sorry, but this wasn’t really my jam.
A fun story filled with vampires, shifters, witches, and other paranormal and magical beings. Although I didn’t care for the MC Ashley, I really enjoyed the inhabitants of Greenlawn Hall. Adrian the panther shifter guardian of the estate is sweet and sexy; Emma the seer is ethereal; Vivian the movie star/vampire is vain and pouty but basically harmless; Margot the witch is in-your-face fabulous; and Jules the werewolf is certifiably insane. Even the servants are awesome.
Ashley is the typical reporter who barrels into a delicate situation with all the finesse of a Panzer. She manipulates her way onto the estate with no thought as to the effect her story will have on the people she stalks. And she has the gall to be angry and insulted when Adrian tries to deflect the impact of her scoop to protect his friends. I really wanted to see her bitten.
The book was written with humor and kept me entertained. It’s not great literature but it is a good read.
*WARNING* contains sexual content Adrian Lazar is the guardian of Greenlawn. Adrian keeps watch and protects all who reside in Greenlawn manor. Adrian has his hands full when Viv decides she needs a new friend. Ash is a journalist who doesn't give up when she's curious. Ash is from a very small town in Rowe where they have on celebrity, Vivian, who died after one film debut. When Ash thinks she saw the dead Vivian in a restroom, she has to investigate. I thought this book started out well enough, but then it slowed down and become dull. I lost interest in the story around half through or slightly before. I think the characters are interesting enough, I just lost interest.
Tea with Monsters by Kimberly Forrest is an awesome story to read. This is book number one in this awesome series that I fell in love with. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters.

This is a great book with an interesting plot, intriguing characters and a few surprises. I didn’t want to put the book down. The author quickly drew men and had me wanting to know what was going to happen next.
TEA WITH MONSTERS is the first book in the Misfits & Rogues series. These will need to be read in the order of release.
Ashley Ryan has a hit TV show called Tea with Monsters where she interviews the beasts of modern society. She visits the prison system and gets the story behind the headlines from those we would all consider to truly be the deplorables.
Then she meets the inhabitants of Greenlawn Hall. These people are truly monsters and they do not … cannot … have their story told, except that Vivian is a retired actress and misses her limelight. Adrian is sworn to safeguard the Hall but has just found his mate in the nosy journalist. Emma owns the house and insists that all will turn out as it should – does that mean yes or no? Jules is just plain crazy. Margo is a witch with a fiery temper. I love every single one of them in their uniqueness.
… and all of what I have said makes even more sense once you have joined me in reading this book. I do encourage you to read it. There is suspense, romance, and wonderful diverse characters.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: TEA WITH MONSTERS Series: Misfits & Rogues #1 Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Kimberly Forrest
Ashely Ryan is a journalist outing criminals stories into docuseries, however she wants more, she wants a passion project and a meeting with her producer (?) goes wrong when he stands her up, and what a surprise when a doppelgänger from a long dead actress stumbles into her life. The thing is, this woman is the real deal, she's alive. She's Supernatural and she's ready to spill the tea, but is Ashley ready to uncover what goes bump in the night? Well, Adrian sure is ready to uncover what goes on the witty mind of the journalist doing a piece on vampires, witches, imortal, wolf and yeah, a panther. All this while falling in love, protecting the women he's sworn to protect, and delivering his heart to someone who could ruin it all and also get herself killed. While it had bloody murder somewhat written all over it, it wasn't exactly full of death, and somewhat tamed sex scenes in favor of being thrust into the unknown with a fire prick! At some point you might be concern that the author will take the preggo avenue, but no. At least that, almost had my eyes going on a tour inside my skull with that possibility when "appointment" was written for 2.5 paragraphs! It ends with a Supernatural wedding, a missing vampire and a promise reunion of sorts between vamp and wolf? We will see, but not as of now, I have yet far too many books to finish and no will to actually buy anything just yet. But stay tuned for my next read, bye!
Loved ash and Adrian. They balanced each other out quite well. I have to say my only gripe was ash’s internal monologue. She was always convinced even when she was told no she could find a work around not ever considering the ramifications for the outcomes. Yes she was hurt by Adrian and Margot stealing her memories but until Margot laid it all out for her and explained the dangers of her revealing the story did she actually see how bad what she planned to do was for everyone’s safety. Loved the story. Can’t wait for more.
This is a great start to a new series. We get to meet a cast of characters that I am hoping we will see more of in the coming books. Ash and Adrian start out a little rocky and of course mistakes are made but like any true mates they eventually end up where they need to be. There are questions left unanswered by this book (not that it ends on a cliffhanger) and I forward to the next book to see what happens next.
The first book in the Misfits & Rogues Series and I know I want to read the next book. These books will have to be read in the order they come out. Journalist Ashley Ryan is human and Adrian Lazar is a Lazar Panther shifter their story gets off to a rough start and misunderstandings happen. I enjoyed reading these two's story. Highly entertaining and so much fun! A feisty stubborn and determine journalist stumbles on the story of a lifetime but she gets more than she bargains for that not only changes her life but her heart as well. I really loved the characters they were unique and a joy to read. The story was exciting to read making you laugh and smile along the way. The characters were perfectly matched both stubborn and determined a feisty yet sexy combo!
The main character, Ash, meets a woman in a restaurant bathroom who looks strikingly similar to a deceased actress. One might think, “Well, everyone has a look-alike out there,” and move on — but not Ash. The entire premise of the plot feels too far-fetched, and Ash comes across as a rather unlikable character. Even her boss has to hide just to get away from her. Because of this, I’ve decided to DNF the book.
after having a chance incounter with a woman who she thinks is a dead actress from her home town, Ashley Ryan might just have a lead on a new challenge after she follows the woman home. little did she know things would get so dangerous for her. this is book 1 of a new series Misfits & Rogues by the author.
Ash was a reporter and Adrien was the “guardian” of Greenlawn Masion plus a few other things. I found this story to be refreshing as it wasn’t the usual storyline. Excellent story with bright and vivid characters portrayed well. Excellent read!

This is the 1st book I've read written Kimberly Forrest; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

A reporter stumbles across a women who should be much older, or even dead. Is she who she looks like or a lookalike? A reporter (a true crime reporter at that) and a secret enclave with secretive folks within. Can anyone come out of this a winner? Add in passionate, protective shifters, vampires, witches and seers and things get weird fast. Fun ride.
This book had some very erotic scenes--so much so that I thought the title could have been Tea & A with Monsters. However, the cast of characters was full of variety and the plot held my attention. The male and female lead both had to come to terms with their flaws, so the character development was satisfying.
I thought this was a really interesting take on the usual paranormal romance, I had a lot of fun reading. Ash was an entertaining FMC, but she had moments where I just didn't care for her at all. Adrian was absolutely hot and I love that he was a panther instead of a wolf. I like the variety in shifters.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The story and characters are great. I liked the suspense and twists. Love how Ashley doesn't give up no matter what and she is a great character. This is a must read!

Absolutely AMAZING! I don't think I have ever got so worked up about a book before. My emotions were so into the characters and the situations as I read them, that I felt like I was actually in the book!

Ashley is known for her show 'Tea with Monsters'. One day she spots someone who should've been dead for years. Following her, Ashley ends up meeting Adrian Lazar, Guardian of Greenlawn Hall. Little does he know what she'll mean to him in a short time.
Definitely different outlook on paranormal life. Several strong female characters. Fully rounded out with steamy passion. Vampires, shifters, pyrotechnics & seers oh my!
Interesting story, with a journalist finding out about the presence of the paranormal, and bonding with a shifter. There is a witch, a Seer and a vampire who all feature in this entertaining story. I really enjoyed Ash’s character and attitude.
I enjoy the story. Good plot with a paranormal twist. Good reality and background that create te story. Well developed characters and relationships among them. All together a good read for an evening.

A wonderful read! These characters were delightful, loved how they were presented darkened and all. The human sides showed up so much bad judgements and all but they would all make great friends. Course that romance was epic.
I have to say that the book impressed me more than the title. I liked the main characters and the side characters, too, which made the book so much more enjoyable! I can't wait to read now about Jules!
